    House fried rice
    Tommy J.

We had to go to the Tesla planned. Decided to stop here and get it couple of boxes of fried rice. The house fried rice is actually really good. Plenty of meat. We also got some walnut shrimp with a really nice honey glaze or something not sure, really crunchy shrimp with candied walnuts. What we ordered: Walnut shrimp with fried rice House fried rice Water The food was prepared quickly. Both of the dishes were delicious and really a good price. Not sure when I'll be out this way again, however definitely will stop here and eat. I think they cater mostly to the factories out here, Walmart, Tesla... Whoever. Give it a try

Food was great! I had chicken and shrimp fried rice Service was okay as well. Wasn't too busy when we went there, so all was done by the cashier.

The napkin is where I spit out the rotten pork. Barrrf!

Five bites in I realized they sold me rotten Sweet & Sour Pork... Barf! ! Of course, I didn't realize this until it was too late. Even if the pork wasn't rotten, it was over breaded, gristly, and fatty. The fried rice seemed to be nothing more than woke warmed steamed rice with soy sauce added at the last minute for color along with some carrots and peas.

This spot is out on USA Parkway. There isn't much to choose from out here. And businesses haven't thrived in the area. The small bar and grill in the Motel 6 is closed due to Covid. I had a few hours to kill between meetings. So I decided to try this place out. When I entered, the place looks nice and clean with bright colors. The large menu on the wall is easy to see. The man behind the counter was very nice and a great communicator. The sign said there was Sushi on Thursday and Friday but I saw no sushi menu. I ordered the beef and broccoli with fried rice and added some shrimp for $1.95. The food came out within a few minutes. Sadly I only got 3 shrimp. The fried rice was under seasoned and I was given no soy sauce in my to go bag. The beef and broccoli was very tasty. Chunks of garlic and a warm brown gravy. So in all, it's worth a try if you don't want fast food and you are out this way.

Time tax: Unless you are rolling with someone in a higher tier of the players club you are going to wait. Sad but true, Maybe I was at fault for arriving as late as I did around 7:20pm but I wasn't sat until closer to 8:30. The line was peculiar. So many people skipped ahead. There was only one person at the register. Occasionally the nice blonde manager lady would come over and ring a few parties up, the line went fast for a few seconds, but the chap at the register only worked fast when the manager came by. Otherwise he took his sweet time, he'd only rush if another VIP waiting to skip the line showed up. It was often, this buffet is popular and the skippers show up in force, especially late. Server Attention Tax: the servers on a normal day work hard, they close at 9:00, they warn you when 9 approaches and it's a wrap, on the seafood buffet days they are not motivated, because they stay late. They act like they aren't getting paid for the extra time. I sat down around 8:25 and no one took my drink order till like 8:40. I was worried I would get a single plate but to my surprise they didn't shut down shop right at 9:00 in fact they were still seating people. So that was cool. But the servers are in no rush. I don't want to get all Mr. Rogers about it, but if you get me my beverages sooner, I'll get out of your hair sooner, you are literally prolonging your own suffering here. The seafood Tax Rebate: the seafood is good, fresh fish, crab legs and all the regular sides. Crab is offered seasoned crab boil style or plain steamed, make sure to wander around. Overall: I love to eat good, I'm not crazy about flights, hotels or hardware stores because I don't think value necessarily is affected by where you go. (There are a few exceptions) I think service flavors cuisine, Here the service isn't adding a respectively great flavor. Sure if you spend a lot of money here you should get some priority but even Vegas doesn't forget about the little guy. I felt sorry for the people with kids in the line. Even though my server was slower than forest growth I still tipped them. But like value lost the taste was unpleasant. If you don't like being exposed to prejudice I assure you the 'regular line' WILL make you feel like you have no civil rights. But if you're able to suffer all that for a few rounds of delicious crab then you should go right on ahead, don't let me stop you

I visited Chopstix in Sparks on a whim when my wife was getting her nails done nextdoor, thinking…read moreI'd just shnack a little while I waited. Instead, I ended up coming back the same day because my first experience was that good. Let's start with the appetizer sampler I got first go round. The egg roll was crispy, cabbagey, savory, and satisfying. The shrimp was crispy, fresh-tasting, and absolutely delicious with the sweet and sour sauce. The chicken wings were crispy, crunchy, juicy, and left me wanting ten more. The sesame ball was sweet, creamy, and wonderfully nutty. The crab cheese puffs were packed with filling, crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy in the middle, with a slight tang. The restaurant itself was spotless and smelled nice. The staff were friendly, smiling, and genuinely made me want to come back. The appetizers came with sweet and sour sauce, hot mustard, soy sauce, and a generous stack of napkins. It's a little thing, but I appreciated it. After I ran into the nail place to let my wife try what I thought was amazing, we decided it was gonna be dinner. Later, I came back and ordered two combo plates and a chicken fried rice. My combo came with chow mein, orange peel chicken, and General Chicken. My wife's came with fried rice and Kung Pao Chicken. My mom ordered the chicken fried rice. My plate left me conflicted. The flavors were fantastic. The orange peel chicken actually had large pieces of orange peel in it, giving it brightness, sweetness, and acidity. The General Chicken had a nice spice level, and I could actually taste ingredients like ginger instead of just generic sweetness. The chow mein was flavorful enough that it didn't need soy sauce at all. The problem wasn't flavor. It was texture. The chow mein, orange peel chicken, and General Chicken were all much softer than I prefer. Not quite mushy, but getting close. Everything kind of compressed when I bit into it. So I'm torn. Amazing flavor, but textures that just weren't my favorite. My wife's Kung Pao Chicken, on the other hand, was excellent. The spice level was perfect, the vegetables were uniformly cut and perfectly cooked, and there were peanuts throughout that added a nice crunch. Nothing was undercooked, oversized, or awkward to eat. Whoever is doing the knife work and prep in this kitchen deserves some credit because it shows. The fried rice on that plate was okay. Not bad at all, just very simple. It needed a little more flavor and a little more going on. My mom's chicken fried rice was much better. It had more seasoning, more ingredients, shredded chicken, vegetables, and a much more satisfying overall texture. So what's the verdict? The appetizers were outstanding, especially the shrimp and crab cheese puffs. The Kung Pao Chicken was excellent. The chicken fried rice was very good. Even the dishes I criticized had genuinely amazing flavor. Seriously, orange chicken that actually tastes like orange instead of pure sugar? That's rare. General Chicken where I can pick out individual flavors instead of one-note sweetness? Also rare. My issue was texture, not taste. If you like softer textures, you may love the chow mein, orange peel chicken, and General Chicken. If you're like me and prefer more bite, chew, or crispness, those dishes may not be your favorites. Will I be back? Absolutely. I should also mention for two combo plates, a order of shrimp, and order of crab cheese puffs, I spent like $55 bucks. Not bad at all. The flavors were too good not to come back and explore the rest of the menu. Honestly, if the orange peel chicken and General Chicken had a crispier texture, they'd be among the best versions I've had. As it is? 4 out of 5.

My fired rice wasn't "firied rice" it was steamed with some veggies. It wasn't traditional fired rice. The kung pao was okay. But not great. We didn't order any drinks because we had are own water. So I wasn't going to pay for another bottle. We spent $33. not bad. QUESTION: would I come back? NO it was an experience but I won't. But that's just my experience.

My wife said she would have liked a little more lobster in her dish. Decent portions. Filet Mignon - Our guest barely ate half of her dish. She usually does NOT order steak?!?! She usually orders fish. But she said it was cooked well to her medium request. Pork Chop - Over cooked. Sub baked potato for $3.50 more. The baked potatoes were small, so they gave two. And baked potatoes were also over-baked. See pictures. Elk Chop - My buddy recommended that I try this. I was thinking between this or my usual ribeye or prime rib. The waiter also said to go for it. Sorry, I regret getting this. My dish was over cooked also. The waiter recommended rare, I asked for Medium rare but I think it came medium... Decent portions, but was not able to finish all my veggies. Lastly, my other buddy got the salmon which was also over cooked. And so small of a portion. Sorry, I got distracted and forgot to take a picture. Complimentary cotton candy for 6 to share?!?! Maybe give us two next time...? Complimentary desserts to-go, which was a perfect pairing to my morning coffee cup. No one had room for dessert. I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon to wash my dinner down.
