Lunch Special - Chef's Special with chowmein and egg roll
    Agnes C.

The place was small but clean. We were looking for an authentic chinese food. Service was excellent. Food was delicious and freshly made. We also ordered shrimp in lobster sauce, shrimp chopseuy and beef in oyster sauce for take-out.

I got the hot & sour soup with spring rolls and beef chow main. The soup was good a little too spicy but if you like that then it's a go. The beef chow main was a little bland I added some hot solace and sweet and sour for dipping the beef in. Staff at this location are super nice and quick! Nice and clean space gives good family vibes as a ambiance.

Been coming here for years now and they never disappoint. Generous portions and affordable prices. They do get busy so watch out for the lunch or dinner rush. Recommendations House Pan fry noodle peking beef egg drop soup If you like Chinese food and happen to be in the area give them a try. You'll be glad you did.

There's just something comforting about a warm bowl of Pho; it's basically a hug in soup form. Of course, we also had to order a few of our longtime favorites -- the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and Sesame Chicken. Both were delicious as always and definitely hit the spot. So happy to finally have a place in Fernley that serves Pho. Looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu!

For this particular review, I am rating this place a 5-star based on the town it is located in…read more(Fernley) and relative to the other restaurants available to choose from (even the non-Chinese ones), which are few. Dragon City is the one of the best dining establishments in Fernley, NV. There, I said it, and I stand by it. Inside, you will find a comfortable atmosphere with warm lighting and friendly service. Especially compared to other places in town, the seating is quiet, comfortable, and inviting. The food may be a little on the pricey side, but you get a TON of it with every serving and will have extra food to eat for the next day or two, easily, to the point it's like purchasing food for a family of three for three days. I usually order my food to-go, over the phone, and it's usually ready in ten minutes. Even if they say the wait will be 20-30 minutes, it's generally ready in 15-20. They'll even text you when the food is ready! Dragon City's food is flavorful and consistent, which cannot be said for the other Chinese food restaurants in town (and none of them have even close to the same atmosphere). What I especially appreciate about this establishment is that their meat is always tender, especially their Sesame Chicken. Wow, what a dish! It's my family's favorite. Our other go-to dishes are Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Mu-Shu, and of course the trusted standbys, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Chow Mein, and an order of Pot Stickers. Their Sweet & Sour Pork and Orange (or Lemon) Chicken are pretty decent, too, but sometimes a little sweeter than we're in the mood for since we're also getting the Sesame Chicken nearly every time. All-in-all, Dragon City is one our favorite places to frequent in this little town. We had avoided even trying the place back when it was called, IIRC, "Louie's Chinese Bistro." I just couldn't picture a guy named 'Louie' running a Chinese place, and "Bistro", a French word for a place that cooks comfort food... yeah, I couldn't reconcile that as a place I wanted to go for Chinese cuisine. I don't know if they changed ownership or just the name, but once they became Dragon City, we gave them a shot and we are very happy we did. The quality was so far over the other Chinese places in town that we've never been tempted to go elsewhere again.

Lots of parking in the lot for this buffet. The price has gone up from 6 years ago ... it's around $14 per person now. The selection of food is still just one steam table, but there still plenty to choose from and some unusual dishes I've not seen before. I'm here with my crew and they love buffets, cause these guys can eat all they want and everybody is happy to find something they like to eat. There are no American choices here like some buffets, like pizza and french fries. Some of the dishes I'd not seen before at buffets are these chopped oysters served on foil, or boneless ribs (really just sliced up pork shoulder cooked Chinese way), and steamed clams. The green beans were so fresh and crunchy cooked perfect. I was impressed all the food was cooked so well, compared to come Chinese buffets. The selection is smaller here but the quality is better than most. Everybody left full and happy and this is right near the hotel we're staying, so we might even come back again!

The chow fun felt and tasted like if you showed someone a picture of the dish and asked them to recreate it on sight alone. The noodles were overcooked and the green onions were basically raw. I desperately searched for flavor and found none. I refuse to believe there was any fermented black bean involved in its creation. The twice cooked pork was surprisingly pliable and yet the chicken was dry. I had to give it the soy sauce treatment to finish it, embarrassing. Day 2 i returned to try a signature dish (because if im gonna 1 star, i want to have a well rounded opinion), which they were out of. So i tried to order the daily special (Salt and Pepper Pork Chops). Received it initially as a normal entree order despite pointing to it on the Daily Special Menu. I could still taste the raw breading (flour, corn starch, etc) and the pork itself was still relatively flavorless and not the star of the dish. Overpowered by the garlic (vinegar?). You think im gonna try sushi from this place? Absolutely not, will not return.

I'll just get the food and bring it back to the hotel and we'll eat there. Going in, there's actually space to eat there if you want. Not a big dining area but decent enough. The menus are all up on the walls as well as online. Amazing this Chinese restaurant has an actual working website! Most Chinese places have no website, or just basic to place orders. Placing the orders was no prob. I see they have a lot of "bowl" dishes sort of set up for the single diner. I think a lot of workers come here to get food. There's a ton of workers of all types in this area, but no one actually lives out here by the Gigafactory and related places. I ordered, general chicken, house chow mien, a couple of orders of pot stickers, honey walnut shrimp and house fried rice. That should be enough food. I didn't have to wait too long and the food was packed and ready. Good thing the hotel is just a few minutes away and the food stayed nice and hot. We unpacked the food and used some plates from the hotel. I pretty much know what the crew likes, so everybody was happy. The general chicken was a pretty good version. The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente.
