Over half the broth left and there is nothing left of ingredients

This being the only Asian food in town, it's kind of pointless to review, but, I need to say that they closed and reopened shortly ago (under new management) and we are now getting far less food for what was already rather pricy. My main issue in this order was my hot and sour soup. It contained next to no ingredients! Seriously, it was a container of broth and a spoonful of tofu. It should have meat, mushrooms, sliced bamboo shoots, etc, and truly could have put all the ingredients onto one soup spoon. I splurged for this disappointment.

Service is great, food arrives HOT and about the time we finish our appetizers. What we learned a long time ago: Read the menu so you know what to expect with your order. Don't expect to get something not in the description just because the last place you were at, had it. Ask questions to be sure you know what you are getting. If substitutions are possible, they are happy to make them for you.

I didn't see anything but if you keep following the road, you'll go behind a plaza and lo and behold, you will see the restaurant. My first visit was very nice. My waiter was very polite and provided very prompt service. I do like that. They have a lunch special. I believe it's daily up until 3 PM. I believe so far I tried their Mongolian beef and their chow mein. My only gripe was the eggrolls. No meat just veggies. However the lunch specials are pretty kind to the old wallet. Both times I have ventured here. I have had great service from the staff. Also, I really enjoyed my main dishes.

Asian requests chopsticks and gets training ones. Zero stars…read more I could laugh it off. And its not why im giving 1 star but its certainly the cherry on top isnt it? The chow fun felt and tasted like if you showed someone a picture of the dish and asked them to recreate it on sight alone. The noodles were overcooked and the green onions were basically raw. I desperately searched for flavor and found none. I refuse to believe there was any fermented black bean involved in its creation. The twice cooked pork was surprisingly pliable and yet the chicken was dry. I had to give it the soy sauce treatment to finish it, embarrassing. Day 2 i returned to try a signature dish (because if im gonna 1 star, i want to have a well rounded opinion), which they were out of. So i tried to order the daily special (Salt and Pepper Pork Chops). Received it initially as a normal entree order despite pointing to it on the Daily Special Menu. I could still taste the raw breading (flour, corn starch, etc) and the pork itself was still relatively flavorless and not the star of the dish. Overpowered by the garlic (vinegar?). You think im gonna try sushi from this place? Absolutely not, will not return.

There's just something comforting about a warm bowl of Pho; it's basically a hug in soup form. Of course, we also had to order a few of our longtime favorites -- the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and Sesame Chicken. Both were delicious as always and definitely hit the spot. So happy to finally have a place in Fernley that serves Pho. Looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu!

For this particular review, I am rating this place a 5-star based on the town it is located in…read more(Fernley) and relative to the other restaurants available to choose from (even the non-Chinese ones), which are few. Dragon City is the one of the best dining establishments in Fernley, NV. There, I said it, and I stand by it. Inside, you will find a comfortable atmosphere with warm lighting and friendly service. Especially compared to other places in town, the seating is quiet, comfortable, and inviting. The food may be a little on the pricey side, but you get a TON of it with every serving and will have extra food to eat for the next day or two, easily, to the point it's like purchasing food for a family of three for three days. I usually order my food to-go, over the phone, and it's usually ready in ten minutes. Even if they say the wait will be 20-30 minutes, it's generally ready in 15-20. They'll even text you when the food is ready! Dragon City's food is flavorful and consistent, which cannot be said for the other Chinese food restaurants in town (and none of them have even close to the same atmosphere). What I especially appreciate about this establishment is that their meat is always tender, especially their Sesame Chicken. Wow, what a dish! It's my family's favorite. Our other go-to dishes are Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Mu-Shu, and of course the trusted standbys, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Chow Mein, and an order of Pot Stickers. Their Sweet & Sour Pork and Orange (or Lemon) Chicken are pretty decent, too, but sometimes a little sweeter than we're in the mood for since we're also getting the Sesame Chicken nearly every time. All-in-all, Dragon City is one our favorite places to frequent in this little town. We had avoided even trying the place back when it was called, IIRC, "Louie's Chinese Bistro." I just couldn't picture a guy named 'Louie' running a Chinese place, and "Bistro", a French word for a place that cooks comfort food... yeah, I couldn't reconcile that as a place I wanted to go for Chinese cuisine. I don't know if they changed ownership or just the name, but once they became Dragon City, we gave them a shot and we are very happy we did. The quality was so far over the other Chinese places in town that we've never been tempted to go elsewhere again.

Beef and broccoli of my dreams…read more.. Easily one of the best versions of this dish I've ever had. Tender beef, crisp-bright broccoli, and a glossy, savory sauce that clings to every bite. This one even had sweet, perfectly cooked carrots. The fried rice was also spot-on: silky egg, peas, carrots, and that familiar flavor so many of us love. Lunch specials run from 11-3 and come with soup, an egg roll, and your choice of rice or noodles. Portions are massive. My only issue, and unfortunately it's a big one, was the service. After taking my order, the gentleman serving me never returned to my table. I couldn't get sweet & sour sauce for my egg roll, and my water was never refilled. I raised my hand several times, but he walked by as if I wasn't there. Finally after waiting for over ten minutes when I was over it, I stood up hoping someone would notice and assume I was trying to leave without paying. That worked and I was immediately handed my check. Of course I still had to ask for a to-go container. The food alone is a 5 star rating, but the service brings the experience as a whole down to a 3. I love Chinese-American food, and this kitchen gets it. Not sure if my race or that I'm a woman was an issue, or if I just got the worst server they have. I hope this reaches the right person because I would like to come back but being ignored and feeling so unwelcome is disheartening.
