What a great experience and pleasant break from the usual NYC version of "customer service"! I went to Mazzone over the weekend looking for some paint and painting supplies. The woman who helped me was friendly, efficient, and helped me find exactly what I needed without trying to sell me stuff I didn't. The tall gentleman was very friendly also. Sorry I didn't catch names! I will 100% return here in the future for other hardware needs (this location isn't just paint) even though it's a 20 minute walk from home and there are several other hardware stores closer to me. Despite the fact that they had the audacity to be closed on Easter, I love this little paint shop. The ladies behind the counter are so very smiley, and so willing to help. They will ask you all the right questions about your paint project and help you pick out anything and everything you need to get it done the right way. Came here for help with suggestions for a paint project, and was greeted with friendly employees who went out of their way to help suggest colors and gave us pamphlets to look over. Also a pretty big space to sit and look through colors and make a decision. They also sell samples of paint at 6.99$ which you could take back home to try and then invest in the larger quantity. Just when I needed to paint my new apt, a Living Social deal popped up for these guys! They close at 5, so I had to wait til the weekend to go in, but they were worth the wait. The customer service was amazing. All of the staff gave me input to my "first time painter" project, and they set me up with the supplies that I would need to get it done. Dont let the pretty faces here fool you. They know their products and can often help recommend anything you need to complete your project. They have helped me with everything from brushes, primers to 5 gallons buckets of tinted paint. Service is top notch here. We're about to repaint quality, custom kitchen cabinets and didn't know which primer would be best, after viewing many YouTube videos, the This Old House (TOH) blog, asking a professional painter, and our local hardware store owner - no clear answer (frustrating). TOH recommended Eurolux from Fine Paints of Europe. Mazzone carries the brand & Sam, a very knowledgable staffer explained options including the high end ($$$) vs. Benjamin Moore Advance ($$). He also educated me on the best degreasers for cleaning before painting kitchen cabinets. The well laid out store is pleasant to shop. Mazzone just became our go-to for paints & supplies. read more

We're moving from Cobble Hill to Sunset Park and came here for paint. James was super-helpful and knowledgeable with us in the store, and a pleasure to work with. After arriving in Sunset Park and realizing we needed some additional paint, we called this store to see if they could help us find a Benjamin Moore dealer nearer to us. They found a store for us which we then went to. After encountering a bit of a communication barrier with the store employees in Sunset Park, I called Mazzone's at least two more times, and the two women I spoke with were again super-helpful.
