Outstanding Happy Hour. The Poutine rocks! Excellent cocktails, great service. Love this place!

went for the first time for their Friday night wine tasting. such a great time! I couldn't even finish all the tasting - there were too many options and the pours were very healthy in size. They had a live band out on the patio which was too loud to enjoy sitting outside if you wanted to talk to the people you were with. But inside was perfect. Very friendly people there, both the staff and the customers. Really enjoyable! read more

Wonderful surroundings and service but the wine tasted watered-down at 14.50 a glass(cabernet Franc). Beet salad was delish. Seared Ahi was good but nothing memorable but not badly priced for lunch. Our teens burgers were delish but WAY over priced. $15 for a cheeseburger in TUCSON. Still, glad to have gone and will try again. read more

We fell in love with the food. Located by the railroad, Maynard is an extremely well designed restaurant. Comfortable, sexy, romantic and chic. We chose the bar and were treated with utmost care and professionalism by Edward who was behind the bar. The beef tartar was incredible, so was the goat cheese cheesecake recommended by Edward. We will be visiting Maynard soon. read more

I love Maynard's, but today my wife and I were given the worst service ever. We wanted to dine on their beautiful patio. The bus boy came quickly and filled our glasses with water. The waitress that had 1 table with 3 women ignored us for around 25 minutes. She kept going back to the 3 women's table and having long conversations with them. She never went to greet us even though she gave us a couple of odd looks. Not until we got up feeling ignored and offended she went to ask if we were leaving. We love Maynard's I love what they bring to downtown tucson, but I believe they need better service. Everybody else was very nice and polite. I'm sad about this bad experience on this special Mother's Day. read more

Maynards was a nice experience, beautiful ambience, good food and good service. BUT they never acknowledged our anniversary! When the manager called to confirm our reservation I let him know it was our anniversary I am absolutely sure he FAILED to let our server know. I can say for a fact I will not be back to celebrate special occasions since they obviously do not care. Other than that dinner was enjoyable. The only downside to the food is the portions are small. read more

Such a cute spot, but the service was like being waited on by frat boys still discussing the party they had the night before, and the breakfast (basted eggs) was overly cheesy and hard to eat. Had high hopes but will stick with Prep & Pastry in Tucson. read more

Very disappointing. Went to brunch and everything that came to our table was at best luke warm, but my egg for my egg Benedict still managed to be part raw and the muffin was super stale, and confused flavors (what was I supposed to do with jam with a crab egg Benedict?) I've gone to and really enjoyed Maynard's cafe in the past, but the restaurant was terrible by comparison. read more

Outstanding retauruant. I love the food, the atmosphere and the drinks! Everything was perfect. I can't wait to go back!

I haven't dined at this fine establishment in quite some time but having just recently joined Yelp! I feel honor bound to compliment the fare and service of this restaurant. All entrees acquaintances, friends and I have ordered always came out delicious. The sole complaint would be the journey one must embark on to find and use the restroom. read more

Atmosphere nice and hip. Food good. Appetizers well done. Dinner okay. Dessert probably the star of the meal. Service okay.

Cute and cozy! Food is great and it's fun for kids because of the location... right across from the train station!

Food is delicious, service is extraordinarily Eddie is the best bartender ever I highly recommend it you will not regret it

This restaurant is fabulous. The ambiance is great, the wait staff great, and the food is outstanding. My wife and I just moved from Phoenix to Tucson this summer and so we've been trying to build a new list of favorite restaurants to visit regularly. Maynards Kitchen is easily on that list. read more

I haven't dined at this establishment in awhile but the previous times that I have, the food was always excellent and the servers were hospitable. The only complaints would have been the inconvenience of the upstairs bathroom and the fact they didn't have steak sauce for the steak that was ordered. (Sorry food snobs, but I love my steak with steak sauce. I've been to all the best steakhouses in the country and still prefer mine with sauce.) read more

We went to Maynards last night for the Keeling Schaffer wine tasting. We are actually members of the Keeling Schaffer wine club. We paid $10.00 to taste 5 different wines and decided to sit out on the patio to enjoy the music with our wine. Apparently we weren't supposed to do that. The hostess came out and told that most tables were reserved and we should have checked in with her. Sorry - didn't know that and it was actually surprising as the tables never did fill up. The wait staff proceeded to ignore us as we sat there. We are people that dine out on a regular basis and we know good customer service. Maynards needs some help in that area. We finally were given menus but by that time Maynards had gotten all of the money they were going to get from me. Best part of the night was the Keeling Schaffer wine and pizza at Empire. read more

I LOVE Maynard's Kitchen for dinner. It is lovely atmosphere, perfect service and amazing food.

This morning a had avocado toast at Maynard's Market. All the ingredients were perfectly ripened and seasoned, incredibly simple and still divine. I can't rave about the food at Maynard's Market enough. So glad that Tucson has such an exquisite and delicious offering. read more

My friend and I went to Maynards one day, sort of by accident, and was totally impressed by the staff and food. They not only do a great lunch menu but have a dinner menu as well. Ambiance is very nice for an old railroad station. The following Sunday we also went to their french wine tasting and was blown away by the whole experience. This place is definitely a keeper and I am so glad that they have opened their doors. I plan on being a frequent and long time patron. read more

After reading all the reviews I was excited about trying this place out... the back patio was wonderful and they had a sweet band playing!... I was disappointed in ALL the food ONLY because everything was TOO over salted... other then that I enjoyed the creative uses of ingredients, the way they plated and served the food was great- Chef Addam- lay off the salt, please!!! read more

Delish! The ambience is fun and takes one back in time. A tad noisy and our server needs some coaching re the wines but otherwise great meal. read more

I have to give it two stars. The location and restaurant are beautiful and the staff has been super friendly. I've been there twice this past week. The first time I had the cheese platter and their daily fish selection. They gave us warm bread for the cheese which was yummy. Everything was delicious. I left nothing on that plate. The salmon had crispy skin and was not dried out. It had a watercress salad, mixed mushrooms, haricots vert ( fancy for green beans), and beurre blanc. Perfection on a plate. My friend had the spring chicken which is two pieces of chicken breast served on top of a huge slice of heirloom tomato with some orzo pasta. It had a very nice herbed gravy to accompany it. I tried it and it was very tasty. Then I went back two days later..... I took my picky sister knowing that she would like the spring chicken. I told her she had to order it. I had the fish selection again which was scallops. I got the 1 oz of cheese to start with and it came with cold bread. It didn't taste the same. I got the corn chowder with dungress crab (9.00) which was very good. My sister had the small bibb salad which was not that good. It had nuts, a light vinegrette, and 2 slices of crispy prosciutto on top. But the salad was not good, very bland. My scallops were cooked nicely and were accompanied by fingerling potatoes and oyster mushrooms. There was also an whipped almond butter at the bottom of it all and it was disgusting. The texture was gritty and the flavor ruined the dish. It was hard to eat the scallop without getting some on it because it was spread all over my plate. My sisters spring chicken had no salt! The orzo pasta tasted like a diluted version of mac and cheese. The best thing on her plate was the heirloom tomato! Maynard's to me lacked consistency, maybe it was just my bad luck or my sisters bad karma but she said she would not go back. My first time there was wonderful but the second....uhmmmm not so much! read more

My husband is a real foodie!!! We went for our anniversary and the experience was extraordinary!! Food, service and atmosphere were all OUTSTANDING! Best place in Tucson as far as we are concerned for an elegant, lovely meal! read more

The food and drinks are lovely. But, unfortunately for me and my fiancé, we had the misfortune of asking the chiefs wife about the seats open next to her. She rudely replied and began to boast about at the bar). She began to instruct the servers not to serve us. Quite a let down. Because the place was very charming her husband being the chief (as if on a higher pedistal then everyone) :( read more

In a word ..disappointing. We and two other couples ate at Maynard's for a dinner before the theater. Of the 4 different choices people made for the entree none was outstanding and others were not even good. The restaurant is very pricey for the quality of food that you get. Service was good but slow. We were all in a bit of a hurry so we didn't take any time to complain but we will not be back nor will we recommend this restaurant to our friends again read more

Dinner was not good! One of us had the hen and it was okay, but nothing special and the Brussel sprouts were not goo. Another had the burger and asked for it med well. It was totally red/pink inside and fries were overdone. I had vegetable plate for $24 and it was basically a fennel bulb and two slices of sweet potato. Total bill was $109 and so was not worth it!!!! read more

Went to have brunch for seven today (Sunday 18 May). Was told it is an hour wait. We noticed two vacant six-tops outside, at least three empty four-tops that could have been combined, and one empty six-top inside. We waited in the heat for about 30 minutes. None of those tables became occupied. At the 30-minute mark, we were told it would be another 25 minutes. We asked about the empty tables but got no satisfactory answer. We left and had a delightful brunch elsewhere. After five years as regular customers receiving delightful service, good food, great wine dinners, and regular happy hours, consider us former regulars until Maynards can get its act back together. read more

Went there last night to pick up some last minute wine and left not only with a fabulous assortment but also the best service I received in a long time! The staff there was very attentive, animated, and very well educated about the items in the market. One person in particular influenced my buy in particular, I can not recall his name but he was male and had light reddish hair. He was SO charismatic I could have bought the whole wine section! Keep up the great work Maynards! read more

The happy hour here is perfect. You can buy bottles of wine from their limited but interesting selection and there's no corkage fee to drink it in the bar area. The happy hour appetizers include a wonderful poutine that's decadent, a plate of tasty mussels with bread to dip, and other delights. There are also cocktail specials to try. It's located in downtown Tucson next to a train station, a very lively place across from an historic hotel. Start here for happy hour and then wander the area to see what you can find. You won't be sorry. read more

Market: a great, casual space. Love the outdoor patio. I am told they welcome dogs, but have not checked this out. Menu is somewhat limited, but all is good, and the coffee is excellent. Love this place! read more

My boyfriend and I dined here after buying a "Summer in the City" discount card for Tucson. We'd been wanting to try out new restaurants, this one included, so the added discount gave us that extra push. Everything about our experience was great. We were seated immediately and our waiter came by shortly after. He gave great recommendations on the wine and the specials. I ordered the pasta dish of the day, which was so fabulous. He had the Bouillabaisse which was also delicious. We were too full for dessert but the ones we saw being carried to other tables looked amazing! Our server was very attentive but not overbearing. The atmosphere was lovely--intimate but still had the feeling of being in a public place, which we like. It was a great experience. read more

My wife wanted to go here for our anniversary. I ordered the short rib sandwich expecting slices of short rib but the texture was closer to pureed and was so rich (it was also slathered in butter & grilled) that I couldn't finish half of it. My wife ordered the mussels and got food poisoning. That said: despite the high prices, the French Fries (excuse me, "Pommes Frites") with lemon garlic aioli were to die for and the ambiance is VERY nice. read more

This place works hard to disappoint. Our food arrived cold and over an hour after ordering. No explanation or apology. Very disappointing considering the price. Can not recommend. read more

Worst meal I have had in Tucson. Food was bland, overcooked, over priced. Service long. Very Disappointed. Save your money, go anywhere else. read more

Went to Maynards for the first time recently, and all I can say is DELICIOUS! I will be a repeat customer. Fresh and amazing cuisine, well worth the splurge! Also check out the farmers market on Saturdays, it is a load of fun. read more

I stop by there a lot for the Happy Hour. I get the poutine, which is fries, gravy, cheese curds, foie gras, and duck meat. Salty, fatty, and cheesy; what's not to love? Definitely worth trying for anyone interested in this place. I always split it with whomever I'm with. I just had their burger the other day and it was fantastic. Nice juicy meat. We got brussel sprouts instead of fries that had been cooked up with bacon. I was apprehensive because I hate brussel sprouts, but these were actually quite good. Smokey and crunchy. My only criticism is that its still a little expensive, even during happy hour. And the place was kinda empty. The restaurant might try doing some cheap grub (relatively cheap) and cheaper drinks. I know they do specials on wines on Thursdays, with wine being 1/2 off? It might be worth extending that to all drinks during happy hour. I don't know. It's great food, regardless. read more

Hands down, one of the best places! The historic building, the train station, the market, the atmosphere is magical. You can stop in the Market for a quick bite or to choose from a great selection of beer and wine. Enjoy a delicious dinner with someone special, or meet with the girls ( like I did ) for their awesome happy hour. I wanted to give the place a try during different times of day/for different events as I often do to get a good feel on quality and consistency but I must say Maynards has it all. Breakfast, mimosa bar, deli, dinner, music- Its just all around another awesome downtown Tucson experience! read more

My husband and I went on a date and ate at this restaurant. Personally, I am a big fan of French cuisine, and absolutely loved it. We had live music, which was nice. We dined outside, which only added to the experience. read more

Yes the place is nice and so are the servers we didn't have a reservation but you can eat out in the patio without a reservation. Im not going to lie this place is fancy so be prepared to make sure you have button up shirt. the food was OK I had a burger that came out burnt all around but the middle was pink ?really strange but the appetizer was good it was like super fries but with duck instead of carna asada and I got a free scope of ice scream so i was happy. the place is located in or next to the train station on tool but i couldn't tell you the price of the food since i was invited here by a friend who order for me before i arrived and didn't know the price of the burger. read more

I received awful service here. I'm in service, so I understand being out of items, being overwhelmed, or maybe even just having a bad day....but this wasn't any of those things. They were out of everything I was able to eat, including granola bars, so I just ordered an iced tea and tipped two dollars. And yet, I watched the young man at the espresso bar empty the same three portafilters repeatedly while getting my ticket. He stood there talking to another employee and cleaning his machine for more than 10 minutes. Finally I approach him and ask for my iced tea. He looked at me like I was dirt and slowly reached for the ticket and said "I'm working on it". Slowly, slowly, slowly enough to obviously be making a point, he gets me my iced tea. I ask for the lemon that I ordered it with. He looks pointedly at the dish of limes, then proceeds to sigh and take another 5 minutes to cut lemons. I'm wondering what i did to offend this guy or if he just didn't like the look of me but I've never been more tempted to take my money back. It was bad, and I will not be back. read more
