Been there 3 times. If this is what passes in the area for Mexican food, I'm out. I got cheese enchiladas there...the "cheese" was tiny (and I do mean tiny) pieces of flavorless something or other. The server tried to tell me this is how it's done. I've lived in 8 states, including Texas, California, Colorado, and spent lots of time in New Mexico, all of which know know to do Mexican food big time, and have never seen enchiladas served this way. They mix guacamole at the table but cannot seem to understand what you want and do not want in it. Sent it back twice then gave up. The servers are very nice but we'll never go back there. Mazatlan is far better and more authentic. Sad because we could practically walk there. Never again. read more

BEST MEXICAN PLACE AROUND!! We have been wanting to go here for years and years, always driving past it on 140. We finally went and we CANNOT wait to go back. In total we had 12 different things between apps, drinks, meals, and dessert, and we have an equally long list of more foods we want to try. I have never wanted to go back to a place so badly. All of the staff were incredibly attentive and gave great recommendations, food came out hot and was better than what we expected. Great place, fun crowd, not pretentious or trendy inside. We will be back next weekend!!! We ate leftovers today for lunch and everything was just as great the next day. My husband was there with coworkers and ordered a Quesadilla to go. For $20 it was HALF a quesadilla - two quarters - with just chicken and cheese and barely any flavor. It was smaller than any quesadilla we've ever had in our lives at any other Mexican restaurant or regular restaurant. And the bottom half of one of the quarters had NOTHING in it. We called and Enrique didn't seem to care at first, said that is regular size/it's a whole one "folded". Umm no it's half sized/kiddie sized. He did finally offer a refund IF we brought it back - it's 25 minutes away so yeah not happening. Would never order from there again and wouldn't recommend anyone else order from there. read more

First time at Maya's was a fun experience. It was quite busy on a Friday evening, our wait was about 20 minutes so we headed to the bar area and ordered MAYA'S ultimate margaritas made with freshly squeezed lime juice (not a lime mix like many restaurants use). We shared guacamole served with warm chips and tasty salsa, and an order of Jalapeños Envueltos (bacon wrapped jalapeños, stuffed with cheese) For dinner we had chicken fajitas and Maya Cochinita Pibil (roasted pig, wrapped in plantain leaves with rice and tortillas. Both dishes were delicious and enough for the four of us. The decor is colorful and pleasant. This will be our go to restaurant for Mexican food. read more

Margarita was really good and even the medium size is a good size. So was the mojito. Fish tacos with fried haddock was excellent and filling. Chips and salsa were plenty with the salsa tastier than most places. The seafood enchilada was a disappointment because it was smothered with a lot of cheese which ruined the dish. Service was good, good amount of parking space at the back of the building. Was surprised that there was no wait for a Friday evening. The service was amazing, before our chips were even empty the waitress brought more! I got chicken tacos, my husband beef tacos and my daughter had the kids quesadillas. We went on a Friday night about 5:30pm. Asked if we had a reservation I was told it was the best to do on a weekend night. We didn't but, we got a window table. It was great! Food was absolutely amazing they brought it out in the best picture ready form. Digging in and realizing how delicious the fajitas were. Ceviche de Mar was my friend's choice. Ordered take out , with in less than five minutes I received a text saying my order was ready. I was a chef for 30 yrs. and I know it takes longer than that. We ordered habanero wings , which were burnt , ordered blue cheese with it did not get. Ordered Enchilada Maya with Steak and received chicken. First & last time customer . It did not seem to be that busy it was a very rainy night a few empty seats at the bar and dinning room . With the prices of going out to eat being so high you might think that owners might step up and make sure everything going out the door is of high standards. We've been here several times and I always feel kind of disappointed by the food. The guacamole is very good but the chips and salsa were not. I had a fish taco and was not thrilled. It was a big portion but the sauce was not very good. Had too much mayo. The drinks were not great either. Too sweet. Overall has a low quality vibe as far as the food. Everyone is very nice though. The only thing I wish was better is the tequila list, I would like to see more Verified Additive free tequilas. We visited for the first time on Sunday night and had a very good meal. The menu is traditional with a twist. We started with excellent tableside guacamole although it took a while to actually get chips. My husband then had Maya's Enchiladas which are all cheese enchiladas topped with your choice of meat (my husband had steak). He said it was delicious and the portion size was enough for 2-3 meals. It was topped with your choice of green or red sauce which is a rare treat in this area. (My husband is from New Mexico and he chose Christmas.). I got the shrimp tacos which were delicious but also a bit unusual as they were soft flour tacos stuffed with cheese and shrimp. To me, they were almost like a flour tortilla enchilada. 3 tacos were filled and were good for 2 meals. The enchiladas came with lettuce and sour cream. The tacos came with nothing. For the price, I would've thought rice or beans would've come with it. Anyway, we both ordered a side of rice but only 1 side came so we shared and enjoyed it. I got the house margarita and it was fine but nothing special. To be fair, there were a lot of margarita and other beverage choices so maybe I didn't order the best one. No unsweet tea which is a problem for people watching sugar. We were disappointed to learn that the printed dessert menu was not the true dessert menu. We both really wanted the sopapilla's (another item not found around here but served like bread in New Mexico) and learned that they did not have them. We asked when they would (trying to give them a break since they are new) and we were told to come back on Tuesday for Taco Tuesday and they would have them. All in all a good meal. We'd be back. So, we came back on Tuesday for Taco Tuesday ($2 tacos) and for sopapilla's. We ordered the Tableside guac again but it wasn't made tableside and we didn't get asked whether we wanted it mild, medium, or spicy but it showed up mild which is how we ordered it on Sunday so maybe they remembered? Although I was thinking we would get it medium this time but mild was fine as it was still excellent - very fresh. We also tried the salsa which was super thick and very tasty. Taco tuesday choice of tacos is ground beef or chicken. We both got one of each. They come with lettuce and cheese. I asked for tomatoes while my husband did not want them. Two plates came out, each plate had 2 of one kind, rather than 1 of each, so we had to split our plates. And, both plates came with tomatoes. And, when we got the bill we found out we were charged $2 EACH for tomatoes. Remember a taco was $2. Tomatoes on top of the taco are an additional $2 and we weren't informed of that when we ordered. Very surprised. The tacos were merely ok. The ground beef was very greasy. We also both got a side of rice. I got a sangria which was very good and large. Then came time for dessert. Our waiter was the same as from Sunday and he had the unfortunate task to tell us that there were no Sopapilla's on the dessert menu again. He wanted the owner to tell us but the owner was not at the restaurant while we were there. So we left very disappointed. We will not be back for Taco Tuesday. We will visit again but not until their dessert menu includes Sopapilla's and I have no idea how we will ever know for sure that they are finally serving them because we can't trust them to tell us. read more

This time we did the glad-salsa-queso with chips which we really enjoyed This time I wanted you to check out Taco Tuesday so I ordered 2 and my dinner partner ordered a taco plate which came with 3 that were a little larger than mine The quality of both were excellent Everything was good value Our waitress was excellent.... attentive and pleasant. Great food, service and the atmosphere was nice. My wife and I went to Maya's on Friday night. We sat at the bar and our bartender Penny was great. Served us with a smile and was very helpful in our drink selection. I like Mezcal and she suggested a ginger margarita with Mezcal in it and it was delicious. My wife had a spicing margarita and it was spicy and delicious as well. I had the Carnitas Enchiladas and my wife had the pineapple fajita, which had shrimp, chicken, beef, veggies and pineapple. The enchiladas had cheese in them with the carnitas on top. The carnitas was exceptional and my wife enjoyed the fajitas as well. We both had plenty of food and took some home. I also want to mention that we were sitting by the waitress drink pickup area and were impressed by how they all helped each other serve drinks and even the manger was making drinks when things got busy. Stopped in for lunch recently. I was nervous on entering and not seeing a lot of others in house, but by the time I left, I was more curious WHY there weren't more patrons there. The service was great, and the food was excellent. It was very to receive a green salsa with chips to start, as opposed to the expected tomato style. I got a burrito (the one that comes with fries). Delicious and fresh. Huge portion. Only thing would have made it better might be a drizzle of salsa on top, or offered as a side. (Entirely my personal preference).
