My opinion, it's one of Milford's hidden treasures and rivals with the many good Mexican restaurants in Waltham. the place is small, half a dozen tables. the service is quick. The first day, I got four tacos. all were served with generous portions of protein, full of flavor, and two bottles of sauce came with them; salsa verde and salsa roja. the second day i got a shrimp plate. again, just full of flavor and it was a good portion for the price. parking lot is tiny and is shared with other businesses. definitely returning for other dishes to try. read more

One of my favorite little spots to visit for lunch when I'm in the area. Small Mexican spot serving delicious tacos, quesadillas, sopas, and other dishes. This a review I really didn't want to post. I have been coming to Taqueria La Estrella for a few years now; almost exclusively for their tacos, which are tasty indeed. On this particular occasion I popped in on a late Saturday afternoon and there was only one other group in the restaurant being served at that time. I decided to mix things up a little by ordering their chicken fajitas. The waitress who attended me had only myself and the aforementioned other table to serve. They must have been short staffed at the time in anticipation of the evening dinner rush to come and she may have been also doing double duty out front and in the kitchen as well because she was quite scarce on the floor. The fajitas came out sizzling along with another plate that had the accompanying refried beans, rice, guacamole, shredded cheese, sour cream, shredded lettuce, and one tomato slice. The problem was that they must have put that plate under the salamander to melt some cheese they had also placed on the refried beans; making the plate super hot! In the kitchen they then must have placed all those other fixings onto that crazy hot plate. The waitress came out and placed the plate in front of me failing to inform me of how hot the accompanying fixings plate was and I quickly gave my hands a good scorch. Clearly because of her language limitations she could only murmur a barely audible apology; so things were off to a great start. While I waited for the sizzling fajitas and accompanying fixings plate to cool down I assumed the waitress was heading back to the kitchen to give me plate to assemble my fajitas and eat from. Wrong. She never came back. After a while, and out of options, I tried to make the fajitas using that super hot plate as my dish; being very careful not to make contact with any part of that hot plate. The problem was that by the time that plate with the fixings had cooled to a manageable level the shredded cheese had melted into an amorphous blob, the shredded lettuce had been become a soggy warm mush, the sour cream had congealed into loose hot souplike substance making the application of these ingredients into each fajita impossible. I wound up leaving three quarters of the meal untouched and unusable. I then sat around for another ten minutes in the hopes that the waitress would make her appearance on the floor, but to no avail. Out of desperation I left my seat and came to the door of the kitchen and asked if I could pay my bill. When one of the staff came out to prepare my bill I informed her of what had happened. She apologized and offered to take off the price of the Jarritos soda I had also had with the ordering of this meal. Really? As I left, the waitress was at my table cleaning up and took the opportunity to also let her know what happened and of my disappointment. Throughout both encounters I was civil and respectful. Oh well, lesson learned. The fajitas looked great but I couldn't eat them! If you order this dish make sure you clearly ask to have all the cold ingredients placed on a separate plate and that they give you a separate plate to assemble your fajitas and eat from. Will I go back? Yes. I'll chalk it up to catching them on an "off day". Kind of dropped the ball on this one folks. read more

Our first impression is with mixed reviews. What they did right: shredded chicken burrito; very tasty and substantial! Margarita-I'd return if for nothing else, but to have one of those again. (It wasn't the house margarita. I can't remember the name of it though.) I ordered three different street tacos. The beef taco birria was outstanding! Flavorful and super tender! What missed the mark in a big way: dry, tough, taco carnitas, as well as the taco pastor. Honestly, I wish I would've returned those two and switched for two more of the birria. Generous helpings of meat in everything, 8 oz of queso (only $6!), and double corn tortillas for the tacos (which range from $2.50-$4). So I ordered what I thought was online ordering on Monday. My bad on that. I got into my car to pick up the order and had a notification that the order was delivered to my house. There was nobody in my driveway so I messaged to let them know that the order said it was delivered but I did not have my food. I was told delivery was 10 minutes away and to let them know if it was cold. cool, no problem, if it's being delivered, completely fine if it's cold. So I wait and wait. Then message them again letting them know I don't have the food. I'm told it was delivered. It was not. Asked for a refund and was denied. Spent nearly a half an hour the next day trying to resolve this and get a refund. Repeatedly denied. They send me a photo of the house it was delivered to, and it is 100% not my house. I send them photos of my house. Still refuse any refund. I call the restaurant directly and ask for a refund. I'm told the manager isn't there and nobody can help. Now it's two days later and I'm out a pretty significant amount of money for nothing. I also got a text from the house it WAS delivered to, the next day like "hey we got your food but sorry didn't notice it on the doorstep until just now" which-- they seemed really cool but I'm not the craziest about having another person have my cell phone information with my address. That could be so dangerous! I'm going to submit a dispute with my credit card company but that could take 2 months. would be reeeeeeally cool if someone from the restaurant could contact me as promised soon. read more

I don't know why I had to keep searching and zooming for this place to show on my Yelp map - yelp I hope you are not playing games with this place. This is a great little mexican food place which we've order from 3 times already I think. We really have just gotten various tacos, guac, salsa and chips, all of which have been terrific and reasonably priced. Oh, and the Tres Leches cake is great, too. Last order was a few days ago, looked like most tables removed but there are a couple of places to sit if you really want to. Highly recommend this place! If you love burritos and authentic tasting quality Mexican food, and you don't want the hassle of the downtown traffic, then Taqueria La Estrella is your place! The portions are generous for the prices which are on par with similar establishments. The parking lot is small, I would recommend parking in the corner of the plaza next door. Underwhelmed. Saw the great reviews and was hoping for a good experience. Rice tasted like plain minute rice with butter. Paid $17 dollars for tilapia that didn't have very much meat on it at all. Tilapia is an inexpensive fish, so I expected to be wowed but wasn't. They also charge $1.75 for a bottle of water and won't serve tap water. I hate feeling like I'm being nickled and dimed when I eat. I can easily drink 3 bottles worth of water when I eat. Horchata was good, service was attentive and patient. The way it's decorated is very welcoming. To end our meal we got churros which were great. Would possibly give it another chance, but really turned off by the water bottle charge. Update: we asked for tap, they refused to serve it. Maybe they changed their minds after this review. read more

The flavor was ok but the portion size of rice, beans, and steak were all very disappointing. Especially the size of the steak.
