I have been a long-time Max restaurant goer Tonight was hands down the worst experience. Starting with the check-in, the hostess walked away and did not come back for quite some time. Then somebody else walked away and did not come back again. When we finally sat, no one came by our table for at least 10 minutes until I grabbed somebody and asked for a server. The server that came over, we gave our order for drinks and an appetizer. Another 10 or 15 minutes passed when I asked about my order from another server. They politely returned and said nothing had been entered into the computer, and there were a few new people. They took our order, and the appetizers finally came out. The buffalo cauliflower was not very good. I ordered the scallops, which were over $30, and only had half a dozen scallops on it, and the taste was not very good We ordered the specialty dessert, which was tiny and dry. The coffee was twice as long as the dessert and came out cold This was an extremely negative experience, and I won't be back to this Maxis anytime soon

Parking: huge lot right off the highway Decor: dark woods but clean, what you would expect from an older steakhouse Staff: friendly but not on point with timing and attention to patrons needs. Had to ask for a second water glass, table only had one. Drinks went empty and nobody noticed or asked if we wanted a refill Dinner came while we were only halfway through our appetizers Had to ask for a steak knife for my prime rib Food: prepared well and tasty Price: one glass of wine with dinner for two and with tip came in at over $130 so 65 a head is a little high for the quality of service in my eyes. Overall: I would shop around for other spots but if driving by or in a pinch, this place you can rely on good food

Excellent service along with delicious food. I had the turkey sandwich recently with fries plus a side order of fresh crispy shrimp and for dessert I enjoyed a fruit filled treat which was nice and cold and refreshing in such a hot day

Burger. No sauce. Dry. Bland. Why?!?

Delicious food and great service. I had never had Piedmontese beef before and I now find myself craving it again.

The Hot Lobster Roll was ok, nothing spectacular (3 stars if I'm being generous). The price was high and I've definitely had better ones for less money, but you're at a 5 star resort (kidding, of course) paying casino prices. It did come with fries, which was a plus, and maybe that justifies the price a bit. The fries dipped IN the bisque were good! Service was matter of fact with no personality behind the counter. It's counter service so I wasn't expecting much. I'd give it a solid 4 stars if you average my two items together. If I was ever back here, I'd go to Red Rose Pizza next door, but may stop in for a Lobster Bisque as a snack!

I ordered the Fish & Chips and my wife went with the Po' Boy sandwich. Our meals came out after a short wait, everything was decent. We felt the Po' Boy was better than my fried Fish & Chips, but I'm not saying I disliked my meal, it satisfied my hunger. Overall, Jack's Lobster Shack is a 3.5 Rating, IMO. We'd certainly try them again next time we are inside MGM, mainly because the other options in the Casino are so mediocre.

This place has been a Wilmington staple since 1997, and you can tell they've spent the last nearly 30 years perfecting the craft. The atmosphere is incredible. While the original 1850s building was lost to a fire in 2010, the current space is a beautiful, faithful replica that feels historic and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a post-ski dinner or a summer night out. Here's the breakdown of what you need to order: The Chowder: This is proper New England clam chowder. It's thick, rich, and loaded with clams--not just a bowl of potatoes and heavy cream. It's the ultimate comfort food. Steamers: You have to start with the steamers. They are clean, sweet, and served the traditional way with a side of broth and drawn butter. It's a messy, delicious classic that they do perfectly here. Whole Belly Clams: These are the gold standard. They're lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and have that sweet, briny pop you usually only find at a roadside shack on the Maine coast. If you're a fan of "the bellies," don't skip these. The Lobster: I went for the steamed lobster, and it was impeccable. Succulent chunks of fresh meat and just the right amount of butter. It tasted like it was caught that morning. It's rare to find a spot that balances a "fancy night out" feel with such unpretentious, high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through for the foliage, make sure you stop here.

Delicious!! Nicely buttered roll with so much lobster you have to eat some of it before you can even pick this roll up. And not just claws like some places this was all solid lobster meat. $30 with fries- wish we remembered to opt for the onion straws (next time). Lobster was tender and flavorful with not an over abundant amount of mayo just the tiniest bit to hold everything together and it was tender, flavorful, and overall delicious. Arnold Palmer wasn't powdered lemonade either, it was perfectly fresh and not overly sweet. Then shop at the Amazing food co-op next door. Looking forward to our next trip here. We walked up to a casual outdoor seating area with picnic tables set alongside the road, giving it the laid back atmosphere of a New England seafood shack where the focus is entirely on generous portions and classic seafood favorites rather than anything overly polished. The setup is simple and relaxed, making it an easy stop for a casual lunch or dinner during the warmer months. The lobster roll is the clear highlight here. The portion was surprisingly large for the price, packed generously and substantial enough to feel like a full meal on its own. The lobster was the star of the sandwich, and the overall value stood out given how expensive lobster rolls have become across Massachusetts. We also ordered the fish and chips, which came with an equally generous portion size, though the fish was a little drier than expected. While it was still satisfying, it lacked some of the moisture and flakiness that would have made it more memorable. What stands out most is the portion to price ratio. Nearly everything coming out of the kitchen is oversized, which helps explain why the restaurant has built such a strong reputation as a destination for seafood in the area. The food leans toward hearty and filling rather than refined, and the experience works best when you arrive hungry and ready for a substantial meal. Service moved efficiently despite the steady crowds, and the casual outdoor setting kept the experience relaxed. For anyone looking for a classic roadside seafood stop in Western Massachusetts, Captain Jack's delivers generous portions, solid seafood, and a lobster roll that easily justifies the visit.

Surprisingly, we wouldn't have actually needed the reservation; the place was pretty quiet for a Saturday night. Though, the college students are all gone for summer so that might play a part in it. Nonetheless. The food was DELICIOUS. The drinks were FABULOUS. We each had a few drinks and everyone seemed to enjoy what they had. I ordered the Don't Text Your Ex and that was so yummy. I loved the dragonfruit dusting on top. Our server, Scotty, kept us fed and hydrated all night. We started with 16 oysters, tried 4 different kinds, of all sizes. I wish I remembered which we did but they were all very good. Next came the calamari with hot honey. That was eaten up pretty quickly as well! Highly recommend. Entree wise, I ordered the Seared Scallops for myself, and the other party goers had the Lobster Roll (which comes hot, not cold), the Seared Tuna, and the Casarecce Vongole. Everyone was part of the clean plate club that night. All the dishes were so good I know I keep repeating myself! The bill can get pretty pricey if you're not paying attention. I'm a vegetarian, and although a couple dishes had the option to swap the seafood for tofu, veggie options were lacking. The sesame cauliflower was very good as an app! I had wanted to try the burnt end mushrooms but they were no longer on the menu. Service was incredibly slow. I know the waitress was hustling and it's not her fault, but I'm not sure why it took 45 minutes for our entrees to come out. She kept apologizing and saying it would be out soon but we were there for a full 90 minutes before we got our entrees which was weird. I ordered the harvest bowl with tofu and it was fine. It was a big portion size, great variety of veggies, and the pesto was good. But there wasn't enough pesto for the whole dish and without the pesto, nothing else was seasoned at all. It was so bland. The tofu was just big chunks of lightly seared plain tofu. I saw on the menu you can order fish and chips with tofu instead, but it seems silly to come to a place known for seafood and swap their fish for tofu. Especially after eating the harvest dish, I don't know if they would even know how to properly prepare the tofu. Maybe this is a good spot for drinks and oysters but that's about it!
