Good service and decent food. Nothing special on breakfast menu which isn't a simple fix at home.

Love trying new breakfast spots when we are away. Found this one near where we were staying and it was absolutely amazing. From the decor, to the friendly staff to the amazing food.. we loved it! Anyone who knows me , knows I am a pancake girl and the pancakes here were the BEST PANCAKES I have ever tasted. We visited this restaurant last Tuesday...the food was excellent and service great. I love their salmon Benedict, although they seemed to be cutting back on their salmon portion, bust still excellent. I am so glad we tried this place. I often find that breakfast is pretty hard to screw up, but very hard to get just right. This place really lives up to the great reviews. The food was great (awesome "three little pigs" omelette), but the biscuits are what it's all about! Amazing, super light and airy! My kids loved the waffle and pancakes (super fluffy). Our server was such a nice guy, really sweet and attentive. Very glad Max's is in our neighborhood. read more

Everything we ordered (gyro, cubano, and chicken salad sandwich) was fantastic, but the fries, orzo salad, and the gyro stood out - so good!! Food is good, service is still rough. Breakfasts have been beautifully prepared and delicious. Eggs cooked well, pancake delicious. Lunch, both in and carry out, was erratic. Gyro and Greek salad once was great, once was mediocre. Carry out was just confused. Two groups picking up in front of me were very unhappy. read more

We have been here before and I was excited to return for a great breakfast. The place is very nicely decorated, modern and inviting. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The lox eggs Benedict was delicious. There was a lot of confusion when my husband ordered his egg sandwich without mayo or tomatoes. It came out with them. The second time they left off the mayo but still had the tomatoes which he clearly just removed himself. My coffee cup appeared to have what I thought was sugar from a prior user all over the side. When I asked for a fresh cup the hostess ran over to make sure all was ok which I appreciated and mentioned they just changed dishwashing soap. One thing they should be more conscious of is the condiments on the table; when you opened the cap for the ketchup there was dried ketchup all over and just is a disgusting mess; they should clean all that daily as it is a bad presentation. It seemed like just an off day. We will definitely give it another try. read more

I live close so breakfast could be a regular thing. BUT, I can't eat eggs so I usually order two sides and coffee. Here is the problem, there wasn't much quantity to the sides and they are expensive. If you eat eggs maybe it'd be different for you. read more

Between Venice and Sarasota there are very few Breakfast/Lunch places. We stopped in for a Birthday Breakfest with the girls. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and friendly to our group of 6 on a busy Sunday. Everyone loved their meal and decided that this is definitely a place to return to again and again!!! read more

Osprey has a great restaurant finally something to talk good about, I must eat here 3 times a week, wish they where open late, last call for food is 2;00 pm, which saddens me, but at least from 6;45 have to wait till the grill fires up can eat till 2;30 pm it's as good as it gets, worth going or don't go leave a table open for me. read more

This is definitely high-end compared to all the other local places in Osprey/Nokomis. The Corned Beef Hash had large chunks of beef and a nice ratio of potatoes; cheese grits were creamy and balanced; biscuits were to kill for! Very happy about this new restaurant. This place was great! From the minute you walk in the door you will be impressed!! The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for good quality food. My wife had the BLTA and she said she could have ate a whole other sandwich it was so good. Also her Basil Orzo pasta salad was incredible. I had Spanish omelette and potatoes and it was top notch. The owners were very nice and checked on us to make sure everything was good. i really wanted to like this place after reading all the great reviews, but sadly was left wanting. went in on Sunday for breakfast with my son. the place is cute and inviting. came in and saw that there were 7 maybe 8 tables taken. not very busy at all. got seated right away, but yet waited about 5+ minutes before our server came to our table to offer coffee (despite the fact she was the one that seated us). Placed our order and food came to our table within 15 minutes. my son had the country omelet with a short stack and i had the veggie omelet with the fresh fruit option. as a vegetarian, when i order a veggie omelet i like my veggies to look somewhat alive. it had broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms and a couple other veggies I can't remember. all of which were cooked beyond recognition!! there is a way to pre-cook veggies and shock them in cold water to retain the beautiful color but that was not done here. the veggies were a gross green, no color, lifeless and looked like canned veggies (gross!!). strawberries in the fresh fruit tasted old and mushy. despite the fact both my son and i opted out of the sides that were offered with our meal we were still charged (which is fine...our choice) and charged extra for the TINY fruit bowl. they saved money on the sides and toast for 2 plates but still charged me $1 for the fruit! the one thing that annoyed me the most was the $2.50 charge for an 8oz cup of coffee (x2 & we did not get a refill). a venti (20oz) drip at Starbucks cost 2.65. haven't decided if i'll return... read more

Have only been once for breakfast but very pleased with delicious food and a great ambience, though noisy. Their eggs benedict was superb with wonderful delicate seasoning - hollandaise sauce includes lemon, paprika and a touch of hot sauce. The omelets are huge, easily shared. Went here today for first time. It is new and open 5 days so far. I love biscuits and gravy but theirs is not very good, sad to say. It is white gravy with chunks of sausage loaf in it. Sausage gravy is better with brownish sausage gravy with real pieces of cooked sausage in it. The biscuit was just ok. I had to wait about five minutes after getting it for my home fries. They were good but would like to get it at the same time. Also, they need onion which I will order next time. Coffee and service was good. Next time I will get fried eggs and sausage. Not writing the place off because it is very close to home and very clean and it was re-modeled well!! The lunch looks good on the small menu. Will go back but not for b&g. This little spot is a great new addition to the area. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and Max's Table is now my new favorite place to go! I have eaten there 4 or 5 times since it opened. I wanted to wait and write a review when I was sure of the service and the food. Well, I can now tell with confidence that this place is top notch. Great food, nice variety on the menu, excellent service and family owned! Oh, and by the way, it was a bit noisy when it first opened but I noticed on my last visit that some very nice acoustical panels had been added to the decor which has helped tremendously.
