As a visitor from Louisville, KY, I had never heard of Millie's before my boyfriend took me there! The atmosphere and decorations were super cute; it made me think of my Meemaw's house! The service was absolutely wonderful!! Everyone was super friendly and kind. We had Georgia as our server and she was super attentive and sweet!! I had ordered a coffee cake, but didn't realise it had nuts (I must have completely missed that detail). When she came to check up on us, she mentioned that it had nuts and cinnamon on top and asked if that was okay. Because I really don't like nuts, I was very glad that she confirmed that they were nuts. Without me even having to ask, she said that if that wasn't okay, she could take it back and that I could swap it for another side on the menu. Throughout our time at our table, we were checked up on frequently and were never once neglected. I would absolutely recommend checking this place out for brunch! I love this local family-owned restaurant! The breakfasts are solid and so is the service. On my recent visits I've had stellar service by Renee and the food had been excellent. I enjoy the omelettes and the breakfast potatoes. The decor is home-y and a bit whimsical and adds to the nice ambiance of the place. It does a great business and for great reason. They offer fresh baked goods and daily specials. There is plenty of parking available and some seating to wait at if there's a wait when you arrive. Thanks, Millie's! Haven't been here in a while. This was my favorite place as a kid because they served potato pancakes w cinnamon apples. That is no longer on the menu but the rest of the food is good. Tried them again today and wished we had gone elsewhere. We were seated right away which was great. But our server Deborah did not seem too thrilled to have us as a table. She asked for our drink order and I asked if they still had French vanilla creamer cups because I didn't see them on the table. I could t finish my question before she turned and walked away with an "uh huh." She brought our coffee but no creamers. When we realized this, she was long gone visiting with a table she clearly knew because she frequented that table to chat. I asked another server for the creamer as our coffee was getting cold. Deborah came back to take our order. We couldn't order our meals without her rushing to the next question about sides and such. She left our table without acknowledging our empty coffee cups (cute cups but a bit on the small side). My husband asked the hostess as she walked by and she filled us up. We looked around for her but a food runner brought our food. Her rushed away and we realized we were missing part of our order and needed things like napkins. We flagged down yet another server who interrupted our server from chatting with her favorite table so she could hunt down our order. When she returned she yet again ignored our empty mugs. At this point should we take it personal? I don't like being a lousy tipper but if I'm doing most of the work, what is there to tip for? The food is decent and the owners are so nice. Went here for breakfast with my family and had an absolutely amazing experience! Everything from the moment we walked in was wonderful. Our waiter, Nico, was such a sweetheart, so friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and super cute, and even the restroom was spotless and smelled great (which says a lot!). This place was really quaint and at first I wasn't sure what to expect, but the food was great! Service was friendly. Our table had the Spanish omelette, pancakes, breakfast burrito (which was massive), eggs Benedict, and avocado toast. My sister had the spinach pie and we both agreed it was one of the best we have ever had! The only thing I didn't love was that 6/8 of us had super upset stomachs after. Millie's is a almost weekly stop on our breakfast route - but something is different the past several weeks. The food is consistently good, the hosts at the front desk are welcoming, and the service is prompt...but the atmosphere has changed. The servers don't seem to be relaxed and happy and are moved to different stations within the restaurant, causing confusion to guests and staff alike. And unhappy servers make for a tense, not so relaxing atmosphere. Hopefully this situation will work itself out soon, as it always on the 'must go' list to visitors and friends alike. p.s. It's unusual to go into a restaurant and not see at least some droplets of food or paper on the floors. . We did not have to wait to be seated, but we were there early. It was filling up quick though. Our waitress, Flossie was at our table promptly. She's personable and funny. We enjoyed having her as our waitress. They have many delicious dishes to choose from. A group of friends and I have breakfast every Friday morning at Millie's. Often a group between 4 and 8, we come with lots of "asks" for the wait staff and they are more than accommodating. The standard menu is full and robust, and we have tried the specials that also have proven delish. I'm a huge fan of their muffins, especially the cranberry orange. Spurge and ask for it grilled. Can't get enough of this place. Every time I come here I leave with a full stomach and a smile on my face. Today was no exception. Our waitress Stella was phenomenal! I came today with my dad and we were able to have a super fun time talking with Stella about life and food. Not only was she fun to talk to but an outstanding waitress. I was able to have 3 iced tea refills and water cups were never even close to empty. Today I had the chicken salad sandwich on wheat with the lemon chicken and rice soup. I was able to pay a small up-charge and have a bowl instead of a cup because it's just that DELICIOUS. The chicken salad was pack full of tender pieces of chicken and the lettuce was extra fresh and crisp. (It's the little things like crisp lettuce that make a sandwich great for me.) We also ordered the spinach pie special that comes with a side greek salad. The phyllo dough was perfectly crispy and packed full of spinach and feta cheese. Overall I can't wait to come back again. It was a very very good experience!!! Parking was plentiful and of course FREE. (smile) I posted a few interior shots because its a wonderfully decorated and surprising huge place!!! Tables nicely spaced, sturdy furniture, really clean and efficient. (one complaint from the daughter.... her water glass did not smell real great - the other two were okay) The hostess after a very short wait was personable and nice, our server was a wonderful person, swift, attentive, and a great sense of humor. We enjoyed the entire experience. Coffee and water never made it to half full......I even quaffed my water and it was re-filled in under a minute. I got the classic Eggs Benedict w/ham and hash brown potatoes. The eggs were PERFECT. The hollandaise is a very creamy and awesome slightly paprika spiced sauce. Possibly my favorite so far (they are the 15th one we have been at, btw) the muffin was lightly toasted and side up crispy. spot on. The ham was lightly grilled and a nice piece of product. 10/10 The side of hash brown potatoes were textbook nicely cooked and browned lightly with almost zero grease/butter/oil and very nicely seasoned. 9/10 My wife got the Eggs Benedict Florentine with a side of grits. Her eggs were perfectly cooked, the spinach lightly sauté and not too wet and the tomato a decent product for this time of year, muffin top crisped and not soggy (many Florentine's get soaked from spinach sauté liquid or soggy tomatoes - but not Millie's) , my wife commented multiple times how much we both liked the hollandaise. 10/10 The grits were also uniquely tasty with some heavy cream rolled in for a nice creamy texture (not starchy) and also no need for a floating yellow butter lake. grits were a bit 'cool' and would have been much better hotter!! However great grits! 9/10 My daughter showed up with her "hunger hat" on. Two eggs over easy, full order of chocolate chip pancakes, white toast, sausage patties. I tried the chocolate chip pancake and thought they were fine, I prefer plain pancakes without all the distractions and sugar etc etc. I thought nice with a touch of syrup. My daughter said they were not her favorite as she did not care for the batter/cake. So we will split the rating - 7/10 The reference standard two eggs over easy would have made my dad proud!!!! They were TEXTBOOK perfectly cooked!! NO lacy death veil surrounding the egg edges ) NO issues here: Millie's does eggs perfectly!!!! 10/10 Two sausage patties were ok. I am a link guy, my daughter like them. 6/10 To repeat, Debbie (who I kept calling Millie because she was so attentive and friendly you almost felt like it was her restaurant.) A good visit A visit to Millie's has been on my mind for some time, today we stopped in for breakfast. We received friendly help from the hostess getting us settled and our server was right over to take our coffee order. Great start. If you are looking for pancakes, Millie's is your place. They also have a daily quiche which sounded very good, and many other choices. I decided on one of their omelettes, the one called Millie's, made with tomatoes, onions, peppers, bacon, and cheese. I like ordering things named after the restaurant. It was a good pick, large and pretty good, if a little dry. My side of potatoes were also pretty good, well cooked thin sliced so that some were a little crusty. We had a nice corner spot and settled in to enjoy our food. Coffee refills were frequent from our attentive server. It was a good visit. read more
