I went to try Max for the first time I never had the palabok pancit before but I ordered it for take out only a few shrimps. It was ok not the best. It was my first time trying palabok pancit. I should have tried the one at some other fast food restaurant or local one before a chain. I went in to order and the guy was nice and helpful. I also ordered a shanghai lumpia but that was too soft not crispy at all. It was a 15 minute wait i think he said it was nice and clean inside at it just opened at 11am The sauce seem not that good in the pancit. I had utensils in my bad. It was still hot and fresh when got home. I may try to go again to get canton pancit next time not sure. The lechon i think was inside the palabok pancit so the flavor is good its not as sweet as some other place i got for catering and it was a bit sweet.

I ordered take out for Max's Restaurant and when I went inside it immediately smelled so aromatic I told my husband we have to go inside and try their food next time. I only wanted to try their halo halo for dessert since I had already eaten and wanted to compare it to Red Ribbon's and omg I think I found my new favorite place to eat halo halo! It was a bit more expensive at a whopping $10 but honestly the amount you get is so worth it! There were more fillings and it didn't get watered down as the ice melted which is usually the problem I have when I eat the one at red ribbon. I can't speak too much about the ambiance since I ordered to go but I will be returning to try more things :)

Saturday lunch service was good! Friendly staff made every effort to get us seated quickly. Seeing so many families enjoying the tasty dishes made us excited to order. We liked the decorative touches of this family style Filipino restaurant. Our server, Nelson, was very attentive and made our visit 4- stars!

My experience this time around was great! We went for one of their Valentine's special and the serving portions were amazing! Definitely worth it for the price and the service was great. The restaurant is super cute, very modern filipino style!

We had the pre valentine spl, fresh lumpia and rice. The crispy pata was not so crispy, bulalo was good very big serving but needed more veggies, the worst was the fresh lumpia it was served cold and when i asked the server said should be warm, she offered to replace but i said no since i already lost my appetite. The server was nice. The restaurant was clean aside from the bad smell from the restroom.

Special valentine week package- crispy knuckles, beef soup amd basket of mini egg rolls- only $69 The bbq pork sticks is super yummy The crispy knuckle dipping their soy sauce/ vinegar sauce was yummy. Mini egg rolls baskets are great also Garlic rice and tofu - not as good as we hope. Halo halo looks pretty- taste is ok- we had better other shaved ice dessert better than this.

Went here on a Saturday evening. The interior was clean and well lit. I like the pancit canton and classic pork sisig. The whole Max's chicken was flavorful as usual. It was disappointing though because they ran out of rice. Our server Rose was nice but did not check on us afterwards. We wanted to ask for some things but we could not find her. Not sure if she clocked out since it was close to closing time but we were assisted by a different person when we asked for the check. Food was really good but running out of rice was unexpected. Service was a little off too. Overall, would still give this Max's Restaurant in VA Beach a 4/5.

This cost me $152.00 pre-tax, then $170.24 pre-tip to $200.64 post-tip (with Receipt) This Restaurant is great The food are all good although their only flaw(s) is the food being expensive and not having enough portions to match the prices themselves

This place is amazing, even with how busy it was when we got there. Our server was amazing, totally forgot her name I'm sorry! Everyone was friendly. The food is so cheap and huge portions! We didn't realize the portions were huge so we had a ton of leftover. Everything tasted so delicious too. Would love to return when I'm back in the area!

Are you looking for some real Filipino dishes in the area here in beautiful Virginia Beach, Virginia? A place where you can enjoy some really good native , local food and delights. Well, if you are visiting like me, this is a very nice place to enjoy some fresh, good original Philippines grub. The place is in a nice location and I love the vibes. They will treat you like a family for real.

The first Max's restaurant from the Philippines to open in the DMV area. The food was decently priced for the portions provided, the Crispy Pata for example was huge. The famous "Max's Fried Chicken" was also very good. The Pork BBQ Skwers also surprised me as to how good it was, it was longer than a regular BBQ stick and it came with 4. I also thought it was funny that they have a specific Togo box that fits the BBQ stick, so don't worry if you need to take it home. I ordered an assortment of food and all came out good and everything tasted great. I'm sure the past reviews here were from when they first opened so they were probably very busy. I came in on a Wednesday afternoon and it was not busy at all for dine-in. For the amount of food we ordered it all came out in less than 20 minutes so the wait was not bad at all. I can't say how it is on the weekends. The service was great as well as the servers were very friendly. The ambiance was nice as well as it wasn't too busy, the restaurant is very clean on the inside. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be coming back.

We went here to ight for dinner. We just ate like there's no tomorrow. Some were good, some were not. The server was not paying attention when we were twlling her our concerns because the sizzling crispy pork sisig should be sizzling and should be crispy. Both of them werw not present with what we ordered. It's a shame that she just worked there and don't care how we feel about the food. The pakbet was salty. Too much shrimp paste even though shrimp paste is banned in the US. The sago-gumalam was so sweet and no flavoring. We loved the fries chicken because it was tender and juicy. Daing na bangus was also good. Maybe bec we can't cook such at home. Halo-halo was great for $10.

The plastic from the pancit.

Had lunch here with a friend yesterday. It's worth keeping in mind that they basically serve "family style" portions. My friend ordered the kabobs and pancit bijou along with an order of lumpia. I had the fried milkfish and garlic rice. The food was mostly good (although I was treated to a large piece of plastic in the pancit which pretty much ended my meal). We were offered another order of pancit to make up for the issue which we declined. Service was slow at times but friendly. The restaurant was busy, cheerful and seemed clean. I suggested to the waitress that she inform the kitchen about the plastic in the future.

Food there is overpriced garbage! Sisig looked and tasted like it had been microwaved from a frozen meal. Shame!!

My family and I had dinner and ordered Lumpiang Shanghai, Ox tail Kare Kare, Pancit Canton, Bikol Express, Tinapa Fried rice, and the Paksiw na Lechon. Their location in Atlantic Park likely explains the higher prices. A lot of Filipino dishes contain pork, and my sister and I are Filipino, but it would be nice if they offered non‑pork lumpia (my sister is allergic to pork). She did have a few other options. The gentleman who took our order was friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed the avocado smoothie, though it was also pricey. When another employee brought our checks I wanted to pay in cash. He suggested it was more convenient to pay by card, but said they do accept cash if you go inside to pay. We were seated outside, and the back and forth about how to pay was off putting. I don't always think the customer is right, but that felt like a lapse in customer service. This was my second time dining here (the first was at their Red Mill location). I most likely won't return. I've had better Filipino food at more traditional, casual eateries.

Let's talk about the pineapple bun first--because I could honestly eat 10 more of these! It wasn't overly sweet, and the bun was soft with a meaty, gooey center. The coarse bits of sugar on top added a nice little crunch that made every bite even better. The hot dog bun was also amazing. The hot dog had a nice sear around it, which gave it great flavor while keeping it juicy. Definitely one of my favorites! The chicken buns were good and had a unique sweet-and-savory flavor. They weren't my absolute favorite, but they were definitely not bad--just different from what I expected. I wasn't a huge fan of the ham and cheese, though. As my husband put it, it was exactly what it was called: ham and cheese. It reminded me of a simple ham-and-cheese sandwich wrapped in a soft, fluffy blanket of bread. If that's your thing, you'll probably enjoy it! Overall, everything we tried was delicious, fresh, and clearly made with care. I'll definitely be back for more pineapple buns!

I will be very honest it was like 6pm when we got there there wasn't much food left and they were cleaning the empty trays in the same area where the food was being served , that to me was a bit disappointing and unhygienic. But I put that thought aside and decided to try it anyway. I ordered pancit , adobo chicken and adobo pork, the pancit was tasty but kind of dry , chicken was pretty good but too much vinegar taste , the pork was amazing but very heavy vinegar taste overall I give it an 8/10. My grandson had Pancit , adobo pork and teriyaki chicken he agreed with my same experience but tasty as well. We did order some lumpia we love lumpia that was a 8/10. I also ordered rice milk that I took home with me and had it later on and I must say it was amazing. I also want to say to the young man that took our order it was his 3rd day working there you did amazing keep on doing what you are doing. The guy that served us the lumpia with the curly hair what a sweetheart. My train of thought is as such we will be back but earlier in the day when the food is fresh and just put out there so we can definitely have a better experience. The flavors and seasoning were definitely there. Over all 9/10 we will be back

It was ok but could have been a little more flavorful. The sweet chili sauce made it better. I liked the garlic rice also. The pork on a stick was a no no for me. It was tough and had a lot of tough fat on it. I couldn't eat it. I'd go back for the lumpia and rice though. My sisters turon looked good and we usually like it, but it tasted like plantian instead of banana, and it was very firm like a plantain. We've never had it like that before!! The customer service was good, it was clean inside, and the line moved along quickly. Check them out!!
