This gave me the itis real bad at 4 PM. I ate, felt completely stuffed, and went straight to bed. Woke up and wasn't hungry one bit... so I went right back to bed! This was actually my first time trying Filipino food, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I loved that they offer combo options because it makes it so much easier to try a little bit of everything. Everything in the restaurant looks and smells so good--it definitely makes your mouth water. The food was a little on the oily side, though, and unfortunately, that didn't sit too well with my stomach. The chicken over pancit was a pleasant surprise. Just looking at it, I expected the chicken to be dry and flavorless, but it was actually tender, juicy, and flavorful! The rice, on the other hand, was pretty dry. And the lumpia? Think of a spring roll, but without all the packed-in vegetables. The chili sauce really took it up a notch. It was delicious. I have absolutely no idea what this place is suppose to be? That may be a good thing. It's like part bakery, part Chinese takeout, part grocery store. I appreciate that it was well thought out and included a lemon and soy sauce packet to add to the Pancit. Loved the lumpia sauce as well. The pandesal was a nice add and would've been fine with rice. When entering you have seating on your left with a wall of Philippine cooking ingredients you can purchase. And straight a head is the counter, but before getting there you see the counter of cookies and parties to the right and other Philippine pastry to your left. The bread is just fantastic, which is a big roll that's filled with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni inside. How do they make the bread so nice and soft? Glory's is a Va Beach classic! They are always so sweet and they never let us down when we need a last minute order of lumpia or pancit for a party! It's been quite a while since I've stopped by this Glory's location. Back at work we had been talking about lumpia and next thing you know on the lunch break we jumped on I64 and made the quick trip over from Greenbrier. The first thing I noticed was that the store was much fuller than my last visit here, which was 2010 according to my previous review. All the shelves were full all the way around the store, as was the coolers and display cases. The lights were dimmed and the smell from the kitchen was incredible. I was here with a coworker and we both grabbed orders of lumpia to go and an order of Pancit and fried rice for another co-worker who couldn't get out of a meeting. We took everything back to the office and gorged. Service was quick and the staff was friendly. I'm looking forward to going again soon. read more

I came here many years before; I can't believe I haven't written a review! Better late than never. We came in on a Friday evening to pick up some pancit for a get together we had. It was pretty reasonable $24 for a small pan. It was pretty good too! Hubby went crazy and bought several turnovers that we were told were homemade. Our little one chose a chocolate chip cookie from the several that were displayed. I can't speak about the Filipino dishes, but the bread was not good. I got the pan de coco and first of all they keep it in the fridge so it's cold. The bread was dense and hard. Even putting it in the microwave did not save it. I finally had a chance to try this place. I stopped by around lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and though not too busy, there was always a steady stream of people coming and going. They have a very simple menu, with pictures of their combos. A display case greets you when you're in line, and has things like coconut rolls, purple yam rolls, and a variety of cookies and turnovers. This is very much a no frills fast food type establishment. When you get to the front of the line, they just ask what you want and disappear into the back to get it for you. It took a few minutes for them to get my order, which was a pepperoni bread with combo #5 (pancit, fried rice, and lumpia). When I received my order, everything was really hot and seemed very fresh. The pepperoni bread was a bit uneven where one side was just pure dense bread, and the other half had the filling. Overall, it was okay... Not bad, but nothing I would crave for. I don't think I would get it again due to its bready-ness. The lumpia was fresh and crispy. Thee dough to filling ratio was a bit off (too little filling), but overall, it was good. The dipping sauce that came with it was delicious too. The pancit is one of the better ones that I've had in the HR area. It had good flavour! The fried rice is a bit basic, but... I don't expect much from fried rice. Overall, the combo for $5.99 was well worth it. You get a lot of bang for your buck. The pepperoni bread was $3.99. I'd come back for more combos. Look this review is difficult for me. I love glorys the food is awesome and I hate crapping on a local staple. I say this in hopes that they can make a change. HOWEVER, they have a pest issue. While standing in like I saw a cockroach flipped on its back but very much alive at the small walk way between the kitchen and front. I watched an employee come out to bring a customer food, she saw it on the way back behind the counter and steps on it to kill it. I promptly left the line and decided to go elsewhere and was so bummed. I work in the food industry and I know pests are a thing BUT if they are out and roaming in front of people there's a real big problem. I've noticed the same at another restaurant in the shopping center which tells me it's the shopping center itself but it falls on the business to make sure it's a clean environment or talk to the landlord about an overall issue. Sadly I won't be back unless things are drastically cleaned up. read more

I have had Glory's for years on and off and don't ever remember an issue like this. The cheese in the pepperoni bread won't melt. Not sure if they switched to some sort of analog cheese to account for increased price on ingredients but this is not 100% real mozzarella cheese. It also gives the pepperoni bread an odd taste.
