    Croissants
    Helen M.

National Croissant Day 2026 was the last Friday in January this year. Prosperity Kitchen and Pantry always goes all out for National Croissant Day with at least 10 plus types of croissants to choose from. There hours are a little strange from 9-4 most days. I got there after they opened and the line was wrapped around the store. This store had made some changes since the last time I was here. They have a cute book section and book club. It looks like they even added more fridges and freezers for all the pre-made goods like home-made butters, soups, pizza dough and more. The wait was not long at all. I noticed a some cute families and girlfriends having breakfast at the shop. Now on to what I got this National Croissant Day. . . It was hard to pick just a one on a day dedicated to croissants. I am so glad I picked up a few choices for the winter weather that was coming through over the weekend. The croissants that I chose were the following, an egg and cheese croissant, a churro croissant, 2 chocolate raspberry croissants and 2 cannoli croissants. I had high hopes for the cannoli and chocolate raspberry croissants, but they weren't my favorites. My two favorites were the egg and cheese croissant and the churro croissant. I loved how the egg was baked in the middle of the egg and cheese croissant. The braided churro croissant was perfect for pulling a part like a monkey bread style. Croissants are always a thing at Prosperity Kitchen, but their menu changes daily and never know what ones they have unless you walk through their door. I definitely will continue my National Croissant Day here for next year and years to come, so mark your calendars for next year for National Croissant Day.

Top left Crème Brûlée croissant; bottom Maple bacon croissant, they were both delicious.

Crème Brûlée has custard in middle and Maple Bacon has bacon wrapped in between layers were both delicious and flaky. Nice little gem off the waterfront , They have other baked goods besides croissants as well which look inviting to try. Great customer service. There is seating if you want to indulge in your delicious pick. There's a line when you get there but they move at a good paste gives you time to figure out what you are going to get; come with a friend and try two things each and share. Looking forward to trying some of their other favorites.

A warm atmosphere that reflects of their baked goods onto the customer service and the establishment as well. A perfection of craftsmanship with creativity and a delicacy to be sought. This is one of the places in Virginia Beach that shouldn't be avoided. Beauty of what makes Earth so beautiful and pure will meet you as you pass through the door and be by your side.

Such a cute spot in the vibe district it's right next to the Virginia Beach arts Center. There's parking once you go inside. It is so cute and there's a display case with desserts as soon as you walk in and then around the corner there's the pizzas and baked items all the way to breads. throughout the whole shop are items that you can purchase from coffees, jellies cookies etc Ordered: Potato Pizza 10/10

All i can say was my first experience at prosperity was great and ver unique. Food was delicious, warmed the pzza right on up. Can also be purchase by the slice and the Cinnamon bun bread pudding was delicious. Though i do wosh it had a little more flavor in it. The service i received was fantastic. Everyone i contacted was smiling happy courteous and kind and look to help. Also since the food is literally right there. Almost no wait time to get my food. Its very clean very laid back homy kind of vibe. I really enjoyed. Cand definitely get a small group in there and oartake in some of thier wines. Overall great experience prosperity and thank you.

Prosperity is a unique neighborhood bakery. Its got a cool vibe and I always like to see what new item or flavor they are making. That said, its very hit or miss. Safe choice: The cinnamon roll and pizzas. Everything else, I take the calculated risk that it might not be 100%. I went in a couple days ago and the bakes didnt look right. I picked up a tomato basil sourdough loaf (top pic) and it was heavy, wet, and dont think it tasted right because of the bake. But the week prior I got a delicious turmeric and pumpkin seed sourdough loaf (bottom pic). Overall I keep going back for unique flavors but the final product is inconsistent and can feel like a waste. Also I would love if their coffee offering included lattes. I end up having to make a second stop for good coffee after prosperity.

Prosperity is one of the greatest gems in the oceanfront area that absolutely shouldn't be missed. I have been wanting to try it for many months and finally made it over this past week to just try a few of their items. I was immediately impressed by the service and hospitality that all of the employees portrayed. Atmosphere is also very cute, with both indoor and outdoor seating, however I took everything to go. Their pizza is phenomenal. Probably the best pizza Ive had in Virginia. It seems that they change the flavors daily. I got the sausage and okra, the eggplant and the ham and mozz. All were fantastic. Their cookies and pastries are also phenomenal.

A variety of pizzas I could get my kids hands away from.

A friend recommended we stop by here after the aquarium. We're so glad we did! We had pizza and treats while there and brought home several more goodies to try later. The sourdough is the best I've had from any bakery in the area so far. I'll be back for their homemade ricotta, tomato sauce and meatballs! They also had other take and bake items that looked excellent. The red wine truffle is by far my most favorite piece of chocolate I've ever had.

Pizza with pesto, mozzarella and prosciutto

The cutest stop for pastries and pizza. Why have just one when you can have both? Everything they make is made from scratch. The moment you walk in, you're invited by the sweet smell of carbs. They have a selection of pizza first and then the pastries on the other side. The flavors of the pizza look like they change depending on what runs out and what they decide to replace it with. We first got a slice with pesto, mozzarella cheese and prosciutto and they warm it by placing it in the oven, it was delicious. And the slice was perfect for a serving. We wanted another one and the second time around they put a new pizza out which was a Mexican style one and that was even better. The flavors were vibrant and didn't lack. It was delicious. We also got a brown butter cookie and it did not disappoint. We did come in the summer and there wasn't very much air inside so it was a bit suffocating with the heat, but it was so worth it.

    Baklava croissant.

Oh this is a bad thing for me to know about. For sure gonna come back and make many bad choices here. I loved it! We got two different savory flatbreads, a huge ginger cookie (served warm), an egg frittata cup, a chai latte cookie, and a baklava croissant. Everything was amazing and delicious here and I saw some great takeaway items in the coolers and full loaves of bread like sourdough, challah, etc. you can get to take home. Staff were friendly and helpful - you just kind'a walk the glass-topped counter and pick out what you want and they'll plate it and warm it or package it for to-go. There is also a large selection of yummy sweet treats in a glass case by the front entrance, haven't tried those yet. They have some sodas and juices but no fresh coffee - you can easily walk across the street for that if you'd like some and bring it in with you to enjoy your pastries. We came back a few days later and got apple pie from the cooler to have for family dinner night. You had to bake it for about 45 minutes but it was ready to go aside from that, already prepared. It was absolutely delicious! You could tell this was handmade and fresh apple pie. Can't believe I haven't come here until now - now that it's in the rotation I'll definitely be coming here more!

    Snickerdoodle truffle
    Jessica P.

Very cute place & I definitely give stars for aesthetic. We ordered a lot (maybe too much LOL), but I wasn't too impressed. The bread pudding lacked flavor. There was a crumble on top which was darn good but that was about it. The snickerdoodle truffle tasted very bland--the sugar in the outside was about all I got. The espresso cookie was pretty hard (great if you like that) and I tasted no espresso. Maybe I'd return to try the bread or savory offerings but I would probably skip it. Great service though.

We were going to move but they had a big fan blowing and they turned it away from her. Now take that with a grain of salt because the heat in her room is set to 76 and it's April. 2. It was too loud. Since the kitchen is open you can hear the cooks doing cook things. She was irritated by the noises coming from the kitchen but once again....grain of salt. The volume on her TV is at 80 and she can't hear it but can hear the kitchen noises. 3. The seat was too hard. Once again....grain of salt. She is skin and bones but I will bring her something to sit on next time. She actually did enjoy the food but I got the leftovers. :) We will be back.

It was a beautiful evening. Our server was Lauryn, and she was great. She was nice and attentive but not worrisome. We had the Wisconsin Cheese Curds along with the house made Sangria. As an entree, I had the whiskey burger with truffle fries. I really liked the cheese curds; they're a lot flavorful than traditional mozzarella sticks. The house made sangria was really good too! We had to stop ourselves from just sucking it down. The burger is where I had the issue. It was a little on the dry side.... Too well done despite asking for medium. It also wasn't seasoned well. The only flavor rally came from the bbq sauce and onion straws. The truffle fries were good though. The menu said they won't best burger of Virginia Beach, and that was made me get a burger. Not the best burger I've ever had. Next time, I will try the pizza and probably go to the Shore drive location since that is closer to my house. Again, the vibe, service, and scenery was worth the drive.. the food not so much.
