I love that Krem Bakery is owned by a Ukrainian couple. It is easily one of the best bakeries in Virginia Beach. They are IG famous and especially known for their mousse pastries. They get extremely busy in the mornings, and I waited about twenty minutes just to place my order. I definitely recommend going early because they sell out very quickly. I arrived around 11 in the morning and most items were already almost gone. It is unfortunate that they sell out so soon and people who work can't get the good stuff. Hopefully they work on restocking throughout the day The bakery itself is very spacious and cute, making it a great spot if you want to sit down and enjoy your pastries. The place is warm and inviting. As for the food, you will not be disappointed by the taste. Everything is delicious and beautifully made, although it is on the pricey side. I'm leaning hard into my "not too sweet" phase in my life and the mango hit the nail on the head with this one! Just the right amount of sweetness, texture was fluffy cream with real mango inside, all encased in a chocolate (I think?) shell! I shared with my husband and instantly regretted it haha. We should have gotten 2 lol. The milky girl and chocolate pill were both good too! Milky girl was a little bit sweeter, chocolate pill was very rich! The coffee wasn't bad either! They do offer dairy free milks for alternatives. The salad I would compare to a store-bought packaged salad if I'm being honest, with some fresh shredded chicken on top. The wrap was also not bad. But if I were to come back, it would be strictly for their cakes. I came in on a Saturday morning maybe 20 mins after they opened and they were pretty packed! The seating is first come first serve. To order your food you just go up to the counter, select your desserts with one person, and if you're ordering a drink or any breakfast items you order those with the person at the cash register. The line was almost through the door when I came, I'd love to see a more organized structure if it remains that busy because it blocked the doorway for people wanting to go in or out. The vibes were modernly elegant! Definitely a cute spot to hang out and grab a nice dessert. That business practice might work in Ukraine, but not in the United States. Stormy Blue) who tried the viral fruit - mouse cakes or whatever they are called but just an hour after seeing they were fully stock they were sold out- TESTIMONY ON HOW GOOD THE PASTRIES ARE. This was at 10:30 AM!! Instead, I got two of what was available which was a Walnut pastry and the white cake with the strawberries. SO GOOD! I would steal the walnut one from a child- that's how scrumptious it was. Both desserts weren't overly sweet, which I loved! I also got the croque monsieur and WOW!!! So freaking good. This time we had the chocolate pill, blueberry tart, walnut mousse and pear mousse. Both times we've come it has been very busy to slightly busy, without being too loud inside. Overall the desserts look beautiful. Absolutely picture worthy. They are sweet, but a subtle sweetness instead of heavyhanded slap of sugar. Things that should have been crispy or crunchy were. The tart shell in particular was baked to perfection. My favorite so far is the small chocolate pill - tiny, with a fluffy chocolate mousse, it definitely hit the spot for my chocolate craving. However, that being said, all the desserts are fairly small and generally run between 9.50 and 11 per. Will I dream of any of them? No. Will I come back? Probably to try some of the pastries i havent yet, but I probably will not repeat any of the desserts I've already tried. She made wonderful recommendations and we really enjoyed our first visit. The cafe is very inviting, with dark green comfy velvet sofa booths and chairs with gold accents which really make it feel comfortable and inviting. My 7 yr old daughter and I went here so I could treat her to something sweet after a really big day she had today. I liked how clean calm and comfy the place looked when we 1st walked in. I have to say what got me most was the service. Service was amazing! I wish I caught the name of the girl who was helping us at the counter. Everyone was so friendly. They were so patient with my daughter as she looked at the different pastries available and explained what each one was so she understood. Never once did we feel rushed. I liked how they had cheese melted over it, it was so gooey good! Only thing somewhat negative I would say were the bench chairs they had at some tables. Daughter wanted to sit in them. They were comfy but they were really low and the table was a little high for them. Mind u I am 5'1 I wasn't use to the bench being low, haha! So good! I don't know how many times I've driven by, but I finally went today and it legitimately felt like a European coffeehouse. Incredibly artistic pastries, good coffee, velvet seating and thoughtful decor. We didn't know what everything was in the display case and they helped explain it all. We had the absolutely best macaroons - so light and fluffy - and a fruit tart for breakfast. Decadent. You could taste the butter in the crust and the dusting of gold glitter on it was a magical way to start the day. We brought home a bunch of mousses that already have been eaten. The lemon one was my favorite. Side note for gluten free people: I've kept a mostly gluten free diet for a few years and am instantly aware when I've eaten American wheat. I'd guess they're importing their wheat and whatever they're using doesn't have the inflammatory additives that our flour has because their pastries did not have the usual effect and that was a welcome surprise since I was ready to pay the consequences. Our go-to place for desserts (eat-in or take-out) it is the perfect place for a casual European style breakfast or brunch, with seating and background music set for a relaxing unhurried meal or coffee with a companion. The desserts are to die for-freshly prepared and as pleasing to the eye as to the tongue. I had syrnyky, three light pancakes filled with sweetened farmer's cheese and served with fresh fruit, whipped cream and sour cream. My wife had crepes filled with seasoned chicken and mushrooms. Delicious. We had the chocolate pill for dessert, but the selection is awe-inspiring., and you can't go wrong with whatever you order. Service is counter-order, and the chef brings it to your table.
