    Holiday cookie platter
    Mary-Ann L.

Crinkle cookies. It's hard to find them when you crave for some. But I tell you, it's great to know that when you search on Yelp, you get results with great photos that Heritage Bake Shoppe does bake them. And customer service was wonderful since they answer the call and tell you they have cinnamon crinkle cookies sold in 6 or a dozen; and chocolate ones that are included in cookie platters. Sure enough, we ended getting the platter. By the way for the holidays, the gingerbread cookie didn't disappoint, they are bits of ginger, what a treat in texture and of course Mr Gingerbread man was cute! All cookies were of good size and they look freshly baked. Always love the ambiance here. You feel the love of baked goodies as soon as you enter, the aroma, the delectable selections ... the whole experience.

You're in for a treat! They have shoofly pie , whoopie pies, cinnamon rolls to die for, coffee cake , soft molasses cookies, oatmeal peanut butter cookies- yes believe it ! It's a real unique cookie flavor, and it's amazingly good! I want to go back to load up on all these delicious baked goods. We also noticed this time that they make Ezekiel bread! How Cool! Staff is efficient, friendly, and helpful. The place is clean and so so beautiful. The bakery is attached to an Amish furniture store, everything is stunning! Parking is plentiful, location is great due to being next to the fun Farmers Market! Go, go, go , you must ! Don't miss out on Heritage Bake shoppe!

The oatmeal raisin cookies are delicious! And, decided to try their chocolate covered banana chips which were tasty, as well. The staff, once again, were pleasant and helpful. Love all of their spice selections, too! Did I mention, it always smells delicious in there! Lol

Fresh Amish bakery, grocery and furniture shop. When you first step in you immediately smell the fresh baked goods on the spot! Plus you can wonder around and shop for jams and other fresh items. The back is the furniture shop. Tried the cinnamon roll. Very tasty, but I prefer Cream Cheese Frosting VS White icing. If you are going to make fresh quality dessert. Go the extra mile and just add one more ingredient.

FANTASTIC! It lived up to exactly what this Pennsylvania Dutch girl! I always try to find Amish places wherever we are stationed. The furniture area is amazing! Everything is well put together! I saw a set of strong sturdy bunk beds that my husband and I joked about getting for ourselves! We would be living like kids at summer camp. Ha! The staff was amazing! They treated us like family. They were so kind and very helpful. Now, that shop!! I love how they do bulk items. The pies! The o makes goods! The deli section. Guys, I was in love! Everything tasted great. They were baking and packing cookies while we were shopping.

I've passed this shop literally thousands of times driving from Chesapeake to my previous employer near Oceana, and now working close by again and I had never stopped in until this weekend. My family prompted me to take a look as we are hunting for new kitchen furniture. The farmer's market and Heritage are easy enough to get into but, if you're coming from Princess Anne onto Dam Neck, you drive past it to make a left at the light. There is limited parking right in front of the shop, but plenty to the side and down the length of the building. The bake shoppe entrance is right at the front and they have a separate furniture gallery entrance on the side toward the rear. We entered the front and my husband, Lord love him, commented on the wallop of aroma as soon as we walked in. I'm still suffering through loss of scent and could have walloped him myself for stating such. Anyway... There is a beautiful table of freshly-made pies of every kind at the entrance, walls of gorgeous bread loaves and a display case for cupcakes. It's a sugar-lovers heaven! They have a dairy case, a deli case, plenty of snacks, jams, jellies, pickled goodies, and bulk foods for baking and eating. I probably could have spent considerably longer ogling everything, but 2 years olds don't allow these things. We worked our way back through to the furniture and they have beautifully-built, heavy wood items. Nothing is cheap, but nothing is cheaply made. There is true craftsmanship residing in this building - edible and not. After browsing, we walked back to the front to buy a loaf of Ezekiel bread. The store was getting pretty busy, but the staff encourages distancing, is wearing gloves and masks and sanitizing between customers. One sweet young woman offered our toddler a sample, but we politely declined - the girl has enough energy without added sugar. It was a very nice experience, and I'm happy I finally ventured in. It may well become a regular lunch-time visit for me.

This place is absolutely amazing! Their monster cookies are the best I've ever had, bar none. Just before Christmas I got yeast rolls, cinnamon rolls, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, rhubarb pie (had like a crisp topping, and even though it was just rhubarb, not strawberry rhubarb, it was still the perfect amount of sweet) Recently, I brought pumpkin bread, banana bread, coffee cake, caramel popcorn, monster cookies and chocolate chip cookies to work and they were gone within 30 minutes. Plus all the employees are so kind and the place is pretty neat! 10/10 Would recommend!

I really enjoy getting baked goods and deli meats from this place. The staff is always courteous and friendly. My fav is the cinnamon crinkle cookies. They're always soft and taste even better warmed up. They also have a nice selection of seasonings, jams, peanut butter, candy, honey, and etc. I'd also recommend the cinnamon rolls. I'm a frosting junkie so i was pleased that the owner allowed me to purchase an additional side of frosting. Freakin yessssss!! Lol. On this trip i purchased a coffee cake. Very moist and the topping was delicious. I'll definitely be returning because the food is good, the service is good, and the prices are fair. Stop by and find a tasty treat. Theres something there for everyone!!! Oh and i forgot to mention they have homeade pies, cupcakes, and bread... I couldn't leave the best thing out.. Lol... Go!!!

I conveniently live by Heritage and find myself picking up a weekly snack/pastry during my walks. They have an excellent bake shop and assortment of snacks from chips to gummy bears to chocolate covered peanuts. I primarily get their baked goods such as the cakes and whoopie pies. They also have a deli inside. Everything I've ever gotten from here has been delicious. The pumpkin whoopie pies are to die for! They also had apple pie dumplings at one point and I wish they would bring that back! Hidden gem in Virginia Beach, stop by if you're looking for something to eat!

We recently traveled to Lancaster, PA for spring break & during our trip were able to try a variety of Amish desserts. Ever since we got back home, we have been craving those Amish desserts. We completely forgot that this place was literally right around the corner from our house. There is a large variety of pies , snacks & various other deserts. The chocolate whoopie pie was my favorite! I love how Amish desserts have a mild sweetness, its not overwhelming sweet! We absolutely loved everything we purchased from this store, and everything we purchased was about $20. We will definitely be back!

    Strawberry Pies!!!
    Tami C.

#39/2020 WOW! I have lived in Virginia Beach almost all my life and never have I ever stepped foot into this little bakery until Cinco de Mayo because they announced they had fresh strawberry pies. First, I called to make sure they still had some available (because rumor has it that they sell out fast) and at that moment they had about 10 - 6 small and 4 large. I hurried to get dressed and made a beeline. Thank goodness I live super close-by because when I arrived less than an hour later, only 2 large pies were left and I scooped them both up! One for me and another for one of my best friends. The kind lady behind the counter asked if I was the one who called because she was getting worried the pies were selling fast after I called and she knew I was on my way.... Those pies are to die for but keep in mind they're only seasonal. I can't wait to try other pies! Other goodies in their shop were different breads, hot sauces, jellies, jams, flavored butter, and also.... The colossal cinnamon rolls served at another local favorite breakfast/brunch spot, except for almost half the price here! And you get 2. So yeah. That's a little tip for ya! Where that restaurant sells them at $7 for one, you can get 2 at Amish for $4 and some change.

I already knew this was my destination as I had been following them since they opened in VB. Upon our arrival we found the Cafe about a 1/4th of the way full so I had hopes for breakfast in a quiet setting. Even though there was a steady flow of traffic, we were able to dine in a relaxed setting without feeling rushed. I mention this because with it being a holiday weekend full of Jeepers, I fully expected them to be packed. The wait to order was too long as it left me staring at the pastry window so long I almost ordered one of everything however; I refrained from doing so but still bought 4 pastries, French toast & seasoned potatoes. Yes yes, alot of food for 1 person but I still had 2 days left in my visit and well, I have a thing for pastries. The pastries were: mango & passion fruit eclair, a pineapple muffin, lemon raspberry cake & profiteroles. I loved everything with the exception of the eclair. It wasn't anything against the eclair, it's just the mango/passionfruit mixture was just too passionate for my tastes. The muffin reminded me of my own homemade upside pineapple cake without all the brown sugar. It was light and buttery. The Lemon raspberry slice was delightful & not the least bit tart or too sweet. A mixture of both flavors without either one overpowering the other. The cake was super moist, perfect. The profiteroles were my favorite. They reminded me of that feeling I had the 1st time I tasted them while living in Italy. The choux perfectly baked and so delightfully light. The French toast was good enough without the side of syrup. The star for me of the breakfast items were the potatoes. I LOVED them. They were served HOT, seasoned just right with their insides softer that a baby bottom. I coulda just ordered 2 servings of those & bypassed the toast. All in all, well worth the wait. The folks were friendly, the Cafe clean and the seating plentiful and comfortable. I would recommend this place for both pastries & French toast & spuds.

She offered the fresh pendesal as well, which I couldn't say no to, so I got that as well. She was overall very nice. I saw the empanadas in the corner, and I know I'm already gonna have to come back to try more. She told me how to keep the pendesal fresh, and I thanked her and went to my car to try the breads. The fresh pandesal was amazing. Fluffy, light, warm, soft, a little sweet, just so good. The ube one was a little heavier, and had a halaya and cream cheese filling, which I just loved. I tried one at the farmers market by an Italian lady, and I think this one is better. It has good ratios of everything. It's not drowning in coffee, the cream is nice and sweet, and it isn't too mushy. This will now be my go-to spot for tiramisu for sure. I can't wait to come back and try more!
