Glory's is the place to go when you need the love of a Filipino grandma or auntie on a plate. The food is reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and kind. The restaurant is clean and you can dine in. I had chicken adobo and fried rice. I like the rice especially with adobo sauce on top. The chicken was tender and had good flavor. I also had a spicy beef empanada. I did think it tasted good, but the variety of raisins in it wasn't expected at all. But it wasn't bad, just different. I tried the lumpia again and determined I'm just not a fan. The lumpia needs flavor. Their different breads look tasty. Alot of people come here to grab lunch, so that lets me know they're doing something right. The portion is a decent amount for the price, and I was satisfied. Smaller spot about 20 minutes from oceanfront. We weren't sure they were open when we arrived Monday around 12 as the shutters were down and we couldn't see inside. Walked up and noticed a very light neon "Open" sign. Smaller spot with all indoor seating. The Pepperoni Bread is what brought us here but we saw many more Filipino menu items. We also decided to order a few of the Empanadas. Back to the Popp Bread-what really makes this special is the bread-slightly sweet and buttery soft. Pepperoni/cheese ratio was perfect-delicious! Empanadas were also excellent-our favorites were the spicy varieties-beef and chicken. Also, Brownie for dessert hit the spot. Saw cookies and a few fruit turnovers also. Friendly and quick service. My visit to Glory's Bakery was in search of my favorite, Ube Spanish Bread. Actually I've never met an Ube product that I didn't love. Although the Aragona Boulevard location was convenient, finding a time that met my schedule & their hours was tough. Finally on the way home from an appointment, I decided to take a route through the Aragona neighborhood to visit Glory's. Parking was convenient, located on the side of the standalone building. I anticipated entering with great eagerness. A friendly employee greeted me from behind the counter & asked if she could help. My response of Ube Bakery items was met with a disappointing answer. No Ube Bakery goods. I decided to wander the clean, well stocked store to see if anything caught my eye. It was a fairyland of Filipino foods. Alas, the bakery goods appeared to not fit my current calorie count allowance. Although I left empty handed it's not because their offerings weren't appetizing. I would attach a photo but I ate it all too fast it was so good. I ordered the 12 count beef lumpia with sauce and the pizza bread traditional with sauce on the side. They were so fast on taking the order and the food came out hot just as fast as we ordered. They have beautiful plants and it's just gently quiet enough that you feel comfortable and you can taste the love in the food. Would highly recommend. I love coming to Glory's bakery! It's a little hole in the wall spot! The food is always good, fresh, hot, & ready! Everything is always cooked perfectly every time I have been there. The customer service is very friendly and super easy to order at the register! Parking is very limited but you can find parking every time and if not it's in a neighborhood if all spots are taken that you can just park in right near it. Some of the best dishes are simple meals that are not heavily salted. I found this in Glory's Bakery. Tucked right behind a 7-11 on the edge of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, this little bakery has more than baked goods. There are plates of lumpia with pancit and shrimp. I have been going here since I was little. My specialties are the pizza bread or the pancit meal. The lumpia, bread/roll that they give you with the meal is good as well. I've heard about Glory's for quite some time and finally made my way in. I have a Filipino step-mother-in-law who graciously has taught me to make Adobo, Pancit, and Lumpia. I love homemade lumpia but it is definitely quite the task, so I don't make it as often as the Adobo. This week I was making Pork Adobo and wanted a little sometime else with the meal so I popped over to Glory's to grab some Lumpia. The shop was actually bigger than I had anticipated, with a handful of tables for those wishing to dine in. I placed my order for 12 cooked lumpia to go, paid, and took a seat on the couch to wait. Much to my surprise almost as soon as I sat down the order was ready! It came with 2 sides of sauce, which were a slightly spicy, smoother version of a sweet chili type sauce that often comes with lumpia/egg roll type appetizers. It was really delicious. A very good balance and not overly sweet. The lumpia had a little less meat than I was expecting, but was still very delicious. They sat for maybe an hour or so while I made the Adobo and still stayed warm and crispy, and I think the insides almost got better as they sat. (I maybe ate one or two as soon as I got home, you know... just to test them out fresh.) This was at 5pm and they did also still have a fair amount of turnover pastries and cookies, as well as quite a few breads. I'm looking forward to coming back to try some of their combos, and the famous pepperoni bread. My husband liked the lumpia so much I think he might be back as soon as this weekend while I'm traveling! read more

It's a pretty small location situated in a neighborhood in the Witchduck/Independence area. The parking lot is very tiny! The inside isn't very fancy but the food is incredible. So many treats so choose from. My favorite things to order are their lumpia and the irresistible pizza bread!! The staff is always friendly and my orders are always fresh and hot. Depending on what time you come they will most likely be packed especially during lunch and dinner. I got here close to 3 and it was a few people but not too many. I ordered the combo #1 which includes pancit with 4 lumpia and a can drink. It's just enough for a quick bite that will fill you up. The little gem hidden on the corner of witchduck rd and aragona blvd. They are a local bakery that sells baked goods, bread, cookies, wings, subs, and filipino favorites - chicken adobo and pansit. They sell one of the best pepperoni bread in the area. Its outer part is that of a sweet roll but the inside is full of cheese and pepperoni. My little one and I came here on a holiday and saw that they were closing early at 1pm instead of their usual 6pm. The restaurant is pretty much "what you see is what you get." No fancy decor, just some tables, chairs, a couch, soda machines, and a corridor leading up to a restroom. Their menu is pretty limited and since we weren't that hungry we just ordered an order of (6) lumpia to go. They were pretty yummy. It came with sauce. My only complaint (but not really one at all) was that there was a lot of lumpia wrapper and not enough meat. It was still delicious! This may be the only filipino bakery in Virginia Beach. If not, I'm unaware of another. Love that it's small, local and been in operation by same family for years. After around a dozen visits over a decade it's time to weigh in. Located around one mile off S. Independence Blvd and just off Witchduck. The building is plain, but a small sign is present. Parking directly in front and scarce. However, I have never had issue with locating a spot. The lot and walks are always clear of debris. Once you walk in the wonderful smell of bread hits you Service is straight forward, probably because most of the staff speak native filipino language. But communicating is good for ordering. My experience has been with a few products, never lunch items. Prices are excellent! All items made fresh in their bakery. Most customers order to go, but a few tables are present. Bottled drinks in cooler only. My favorite go to is the pepperoni roll. This is what most know them for They will warm it up for you upon request and provide marinara dipping sauce which is a must! I've had other bread items that have been a miss for me. Ensemada strawberry bread is an example of a miss, it just seems stale. I have returned over the years because of the pepperoni roll. A 3.5 seems more fitting, but I can't get to a 4. I would still recommend. read more

It has been many years since I have been to this place but it is no surprise that it is still in business serving up one of my favorite items. That is the PIZZA BREAD. I know some of you are reading this thinking wait this a place to get Filipino food. Well it is and trust me you can get lumpia, pancit, adobo, but not too sure if they sell sigsig. What I remember is the pizza bread that we would make a run for at work. This may be blasphemy but to those who have eaten here but imagine the pizza bread like a hot pocket. Hold on.... Stick with me. The bread is actually a bit sweet and the cheese is mixed with pepperoni. At this point you can decide if you want to fill it with other ingredients such as Italian sausage, peppers or meatballs. If you are not eating this at work go ahead and have them put the marinara dipping sauce that comes with the bread placed in the bread. It can get a bit messy which is why I suggest maybe not eating at work. I know many of you know how to eat but I have seen some of you at Yelp events and yeah.......... Anyway the pancit and lumpia is ok but I have had better. Not horrible but not something that will pop first in your mind to go get if you were hungry. It is all about perception in where you may have sampled Filipino before. They've recently updated to a "new" menu... basically the same one as the centerville location. It's not posted up anywhere and they weren't too keen on making the menu changes clear. I went to order one of my regular combos and was told that there was a new menu but there was no explanation or follow up so I went over what I would normally order in detail. The lady on the other line said okay repeated what I ordered and I was on my way. I get there, had to wait about 5-10 minutes for my order (not a big deal) I went to double check my order and noticed the "new" menu for myself.. my chicken adobo and pancit combo had double chicken (of what the previous combo would be) and no lumpia :-/ thankfully I'd ordered a side of lumpia because I was feeling a little greedy but had I not....ngl I would've been annoyed to find that they axed the 3-4 lumpia that used to come with it. I had Glory's today for the first time in maybe 20 years. and I ordered it because I moved back into the area and I had a gift card from GrubHub and I remembered how good it was. I read a lot about this place and I'm definitely a fan. The food seems pretty authentic and I can only base that on the food that my son-in-law and his mother prepare (both being Filipino). I have searched for good pancit and feel like I've missed out not knowing this place exists. I haven't had many items off of the menu but the pancit is my absolute favorite next to the lumpia. Neither is laden with grease and you don't get that sick feeling after eating...or even overeating. ;) They also have fresh-baked Otap cookies which I haven't tried yet. I had to try their macaroons. One macaroon is enough for two people after eating a meal there. My daughter and I were able to split a meal and feel beyond satisfied. I had heard so much about the pepperoni bread that I couldn't wait to try it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It probably had more to do with me than the actual food item itself. I guess I was expecting something more like a calzone which I shouldn't have. There is a distinct difference in Italian and Filipino food, but I can't help what my taste buds expect. :) I deducted one star for the overall appearance of the place. The place does not look clean AT ALL. It is old, outdated, worn, and looks like a typical hole in the wall. I'm sure they do well as they are, but I bet an updated look and a place that exuded cleanliness would boost their sales substantially. They might have to consider a bigger building if they did that. First I called that morning to see if I should place an order as I would be stopping by close to closing time. They told me no and stated my order would be fine to order when I arrived. I tried to order 4 pizza breads was told immediately that they only had 3 remaining. Ok. So I ordered 25 lumpia and a large styrofoam container of pancit. Paid for everything and was waiting for my order. The cashier then comes over to me shortly there after saying they don't have anymore veggies for the pancit. I am now fuming. I decided to cancel the pancit order and get more lumpia. I get home and the pizza bread is disgusting and half way cooked. The pepperoni looks old (see photo). And the lumpia is tasteless. The food is usually bomb and affordable, but this location isn't vegetarian friendly. Veggie lumpia lovers, make sure to triple check that you're given veggie lumpia. I've been served beef lumpia instead on several occasions. There's also always rouge chicken pieces in their veggie pancit, which I usually just pull out no problem, but with lumpia, it is harder to tell.
