I read a lot about this place and I'm definitely a fan. The food seems pretty authentic and I can only base that on the food that my son-in-law and his mother prepare (both being Filipino). I have searched for good pancit and feel like I've missed out not knowing this place exists. I haven't had many items off of the menu but the pancit is my absolute favorite next to the lumpia. Neither is laden with grease and you don't get that sick feeling after eating...or even overeating. ;) They also have fresh-baked Otap cookies which I haven't tried yet. I had to try their macaroons. One macaroon is enough for two people after eating a meal there. My daughter and I were able to split a meal and feel beyond satisfied. I had heard so much about the pepperoni bread that I couldn't wait to try it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It probably had more to do with me than the actual food item itself. I guess I was expecting something more like a calzone which I shouldn't have. There is a distinct difference in Italian and Filipino food, but I can't help what my taste buds expect. :) I deducted one star for the overall appearance of the place. The place does not look clean AT ALL. It is old, outdated, worn, and looks like a typical hole in the wall. I'm sure they do well as they are, but I bet an updated look and a place that exuded cleanliness would boost their sales substantially. They might have to consider a bigger building if they did that. I would still recommend the food. It's tasty. read more

I absolutely love the simplicity of the pepperoni bread! Soft, warm bread with melty cheese and pepperoni baked inside...hm... Who doesn't love that?! Plus, it's always baked fresh daily! I usually get the pepperoni bread combo with lumpia. Love the two together & the price is reasonable. At around $7 you get a freshly baked pepperoni bread with some tomato sauce, 4 lumpias and a canned soda. I honestly think its a great deal considering the size of the pepperoni bread. I usually eat half and save the rest for later. Awesomely simple. read more

Glory's Bakery - Pepperoni bread combo! - Bakeries Near Me - Virginia Beach, Virginia

I hope you're hungry! Glory's has the old hole in the wall mom and pop feel down. The service is very friendly and the prices (at least a lunch time) are fantastic. I ordered the Chicken Adobo lunch special and was not disappointed. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, the pancit was top notch, and the portion size was enough for two meals. I had to experience the bakery portion of Glory's as well, so I got a chocolate chip cookie. It was loaded with chocolate chips and tasted fantastic. Overall a really good lunch stop. read more

I drove out of my way to come here and everything said they close at 6.... I got there at 5:30 and the lady huffed and said "we are closed" ... even though the door wasn't locked and I was in the store and the counter was fully stocked with items and baked goods. What kind of customer service is that? I asked just to buy something , she rolled her eyes and said no. ???? read more

Glory's Bakery - Bakeries Near Me - Virginia Beach, Virginia

First I called that morning to see if I should place an order as I would be stopping by close to closing time. They told me no and stated my order would be fine to order when I arrived. I tried to order 4 pizza breads was told immediately that they only had 3 remaining. Ok. So I ordered 25 lumpia and a large styrofoam container of pancit. Paid for everything and was waiting for my order. The cashier then comes over to me shortly there after saying they don't have anymore veggies for the pancit. I am now fuming. I decided to cancel the pancit order and get more lumpia. I get home and the pizza bread is disgusting and half way cooked. The pepperoni looks old (see photo). And the lumpia is tasteless. I will NEVER return. read more

Glory's Bakery - Disgusting pizza bread - Bakeries Near Me - Virginia Beach, Virginia

The food is usually bomb and affordable, but this location isn't vegetarian friendly. Veggie lumpia lovers, make sure to triple check that you're given veggie lumpia. I've been served beef lumpia instead on several occasions. There's also always rouge chicken pieces in their veggie pancit, which I usually just pull out no problem, but with lumpia, it is harder to tell. It's just garbage when you get home and can't eat what you paid for. read more

RUDE! I called for a pick up order at 4:25 pm, the girl on the phone told me they close at 5, but stop cooking at 4:30 pm... that gave them 5 minutes to start the food so I was able to pick it up well before 5. They refused to take my order even tho they had 5 minutes before they stopped cooking!! Then she told me to call back tomorrow instead and when I told her it didn't make sense, she hung up on me. This location has gone way down hill and I'll be choosing the other location from now on, if at all. read more

If I could give a 0 I would. I called before driving out and asked if they had pork buns and they said yes. So I drove out and ordered then they told me they didn't have pork. Like what the hell you said you did. So I got the chicken. As we drove away I started to eat but it tasted horrible and I flipped ut upside down and it was completely RAW!!!!!!!!! All 4 of them. I was absolutely pissed. I will not ever go back. read more

I lobe the authenticity of Glory's, you have an army of Filipino mothers and grandmother in the kitchen making lumpia, empanada, siopao among other things and then obviously fresh baked breads all from scratch. The front isn't the most up to date or inviting but don't let that deter you from what's inside! read more

Hidden gem, local's favorite! We've been enjoying their pepperoni bread, lumpia and pancit since we were kids!

I love the prices. The lumpia is divine. :) so worth it. The portions are big, and it always smell wonderful walking in. The atmosphere is kinda drab, but overall it's all about the food and service. read more

If you want to watch them touch their face and body and clothing while preparing your meal without gloves during this pandemic than this is the place to be and be prepared to wait forever even when it's limited people in there. I watched an employee touch multiple surfaces and the cash area without washing her hands or wearing gloves an when asked about putting gloves on she says "she wasn't going to touch the food" nasty ass bitch ! I'm beyond disgusted! read more

I love their steak sub combos ! The sub bun is perfectly sweetened and the fries don't taste like it's from the freezer. The lumpia has a great crunch to it as well...I come here for my cheat days and it's worth it ! They had my order wrong one time but it was over the phone. the employees are sweet, and the food is great so it all makes up. It's definitely a hole in the wall but I find those have the best dishes read more

SO GOOD! Every time I've gone, no doubt about it . we've used them for catering events with the enormous orders of lumpia and pancit for the super bowl parties or we get the pizza bread and lumpia to sit at home and have an easy dinner ! The Best Lumpia and Pizza rolls I'm sure everything's great just my personal favs! not Fancy Decor but the Food and staff are Wonderful

Amazing lumpia and pepperoni bread! Love this place and always get it for parties etc

This place has been around for a long time. I use to skip school to come here and grab some pepperoni bread. Get the pepperoni bread and ask for the sweet and sour sauce so you can dip it in the sauce. It gives it a little extra zing! Everything Glory's makes is amazing. The lumpia is decent, I think they use too much lumpia wrapper, but it's still good. They sell other items too, like fresh baked cookies, turnovers, ensemada, rolls, etc. This place is also cheap and very affordable for a quick lunch time grab. read more

Great local bakery with one of a kind lunch specials, pastries and snacks. I've been coming here for about 25 years and keep coming back whenever I'm in town. The lumpia is to die for as are the meat rolls - if you're in the area TRY IT!!! read more

So parking sucks... When I pulled up the only spot open was a handicap. The interior was definitely hole in the wallish but the patrons looked friendly. Great mix of people eating there. Families, couples, etc... While standing in line waiting to pick up my order I saw one of the cooks eatting fries off a customers plate then go back to cooking without washing their hands. (fingers were just in your mouth.. eww) It wasn't my food though so I got my order and left. I ordered the pizza bread w/lumpia combo. The pizza bread is pretty much a yummy pepperoni and cheese calzone. It was pretty good. Very cheesy. However, I originally came for the lumpia. The lumpia was bad... I ordered beef and literally tasted NONE. It was mushy not very tasteful. I was very disappointed. If the calzone wasn't so delicious this would have gotten 1 star and I would never have returned again. I might give it a second try to try there chicken adobo. read more

Slow serviice... Called in order . Told 15 min. Went to pick up order, had to wait an additional 25 minutes.

The food was good but the service was as slow as molasses!!!!!! It literally took 20 minutes to get a 25 count lumpia UNCOOKED, a pepperoni roll and a medium order of veg pancit. Did I mention I was the only customer in the building. The pepperoni roll was so good I would torture myself to go back for more.... Actually everything really was good it would just be nice if the ladies could put a little pep in their step. :) read more

After reading the reviews I had to try this place. I went for lunch around 11. I ordered the pepperoni bread with onions, peppers and mushrooms and the lumpia with pancit combo. Everytime I saw pictures of the pepperoni bread on Facebook, I thought pizza pocket, calzone, or something like that. OMG! Let me tell you I was blown away! The bread was so delicious! I am a bread lover. I loved this bread! Amazing! The pancit was the best I have had so far. The lumpia, to me, was unremarkable. I will definitely go back for the pepperoni bread and pancit. They have the best pancit I have ever had! The prices are great for the serving sizes. My recommendation would definitely be the pancit and lumpia combo with a coconut macaroon. It is the best Filipino food I've had in Virginia by far. The service is a little slow but it's worth the wait, if you don't want to wait maybe call the order in ahead of time. read more

Love this place, everything is always delicious, but do not get the pancit with shrimp. They use extremely fishy, salty canned shrimp. Not giving this place a bad rating because everything else I've had has been delicious. The siopao are huge and a bit fatty and gelled inside, but some people love that (I just don't, I prefer a Japanese sweet bbq pork bun, these are very mild and savory). I recommend just getting a bunch of rolls, lumpia, and plain veggie pancit to take home to your family for an easy dinner. Also, try the guava pulp drink! If you don't mind having "stuff" in your drink, the sugar cane is really delicious! read more

I've only tried their strawberry ensemada and fresh pan de sal. Ensemada was good, but I don't know if I would go back for their pan de sal. The pan de sal was only good for the first 2 days. Their pancit & lumpia is pretty good, I definitely recommend trying it. read more

Throughout the years, I've stopped in the Glory's Bakery off of Kempsville and Centerville. I've always been impressed with that location and had positive experiences there so I had high hopes for the Aragona/Witchduck location that is much closer to home for me. Let me preface my review with saying that my go-to Filipino establishment is Mariam's Fil-Am Cuisine. Unfortunately, it was a Monday and Mariam's is closed on Mondays. So I went to the next closest place, Susan's Kitchenette. Again, closed on Mondays. So I start googling places I can go to satisfy my Filipino food craving on this seemingly hopeless Monday and I remember there is a Glory's Bakery near me and lucky me, they are open on Mondays! I arrive and walk into an incredibly dingy establishment. I'm no stranger to local restaurants that have "character" and don't always look the best. This isn't what I'm talking about though. From outside it hardly looks like a functioning establishment and from inside, I can hardly say it differs from the outside. There is a ratty couch and a few tables and chairs awkwardly arranged. There wasn't a line but there were at least half a dozen people waiting who had the look of people that had been waiting for a long time. I go up to order and decide to get an array of food items to get an idea of how their food fares compared to my aforementioned favorite Filipino restaurant. I get it all to-go. The employee taking my order seemed beyond bored and annoyed with me. I understand we all have our bad days but this just seemed like an everyday demeanor. Luckily, another employee came out to relieve her and was refreshingly nice so not all hope is lost on that front. As the wait was very long, I found myself in need of their restroom facilities. Using the restroom here is not for the faint of heart or those that are claustrophobic. You have to take a long narrow hallway that literally can only fit one person at a time to the back of the establishment. You pass some weird doorways and a storeroom. I get to the women's restroom and there's a random shower curtain on a tension rod covering a weird dip in the wall. It was dark, dingy, and dirty. After nearly twenty minutes of waiting, I finally was able to receive my order and get the heck out of there. I was hoping the food would redeem them a bit. Lucky for them, it did. The pepperoni bread was great as was the chicken siapao. As a few other reviews mention, it seems like they use too much wrapper on their lumpia, but taste-wise it's alright. I'll admit I've had better lumpia from store-bought frozen packages that you just take home and fry yourself. I also got their chicken pancit. It fell pretty flat for me but wasn't bad. Maybe my expectations are just too high. Overall, I didn't really enjoy coming here and probably won't again unless I'm only craving a bread-based item, don't have to use the restroom, and don't mind waiting. read more

Love the food, and am a longtime customer. However, went in today to pick up my large Christmas order that I had placed last week, and was told they didnt have it. They then refused to place the order because they "needed 24 hours notice." Seriously? I gave them a week. Now I'm stuck. Bad business guys. Think I'll go elsewhere from now on. read more

I arrived to the establishment promptly at 4:27 pm on 2/16/21, after waiting in line to place my order (dozen lumpia) I was told they quit taking orders at 4:30 pm (by this time it was now 4:35 pm) I was clearly distraught as I was planning these to accompany my dinner for the evening. They should have waived the 5 minutes to accommodate a regular customer. WHAT A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT IN CUSTOMER SERVICE .....FAIL FAIL FAIL read more

I had been introduced to Glory's Bakery 10 years ago. The first time I ever went in I was scared to try anything. The place is not easy on the eyes nor does the look inspire confidence in ordering. With that being said my first order and all the orders over the last 10 years have been delicious! The pizza bread is amazing. That is the first thing people usually try. The next thing I recommend is the pancit. Overall this place is worth a try if you are in Virginia Beach. The food has never disappointed me. If they ever do an overhaul on the look of the place I will give them 5 stars! read more

I have come here many times. This place is very easily overlooked. They have delicious pansit and their lumpia is fantastic! While this place is in need of a few remodels, the food and service is great. I can't eat pork but the chicken or shrimp pansit is my go to order. Honestly, the lumpia is something I can eat everyday! read more

Ok, so I was introduced to Glory's Pepperoni Bread by my husband and his family. Every year around the holidays, they would call in an order of their famous Pepperoni Bread and that would be Christmas Eve dinner (since they make a traditional dinner on Christmas day). OMGsh, heavenly! The bread is slightly sweet, light and fresh; stuffed with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni (no sauce). MMmm. I was in town for a few days and had to make a stop to pick some up to bring home, they are that good. They have two locations which is even better! I believe the location on Centerville Turnpike is also a store that sells Filipino groceries. The location on Aragona has a few tables for the lunch crowd. It is one of those places that the locals know about and could be easily missed. Nothing special decor wise, but the food makes up for it big time. Check out their website for more pics! read more

Been going here for years. Love the food, they give you good portions at a cheap price. The people who work there don't usually seem like they enjoy their job very much but they make some great food. The only two complaints I have is the wait time to get the food can be lengthly especially when I go there on my lunch break and sometimes when I call ahead to go pick it up, the line just keeps ringing and ringing and I have to call back multiple times before someone answers. Oh and the parking there sucks too, I usually have to park at the Seven Eleven next door. read more

My family has been getting pan de sal and pepperoni bread from this bakery since I was a child! It's always fresh and delicious.

Good food, but avoid making any special orders. They will get them wrong or cancel them after trying to call you back. Because they consistently write down the wrong callback number. Pretty disappointing to arrive to pickup food for event to fins they decided not to make it. This has happened three times. read more

I would give them five stars if the people who work there weren't so unfriendly (and occasionally downright rude), and if the restaurant itself didn't make me feel like I need an immediate Lysol bath. But it's more about the food, and this really is the only place I'll go to get my Filipino fix. I've never had a bad meal (pancit is awesome!), and their bakery items are mouth-watering. Just don't bring someone here for a first date ;) read more

The food is good but the staff are rude and hateful and that is why I will not be going back. I went there this morning to order 10 meatrolls to pick up tomorrow (4 chicken, 3 pork and 3 beef). The Phillipeano woman working at the counter acted as if she didnt understand me so I gestured and pointed and tried my best to explain what I wanted. Finally, she told me they had done all their cooking yesterday and were not going to cook anything else. She told me I would have to choose from what they had on hand. She was blunt and abrupt and rude. I dont think so! The owner previously told me to give them 24 hours and they could fix me what I wanted. read more

This place is good for a quick meal. It is also very inexpensive, and friendly owners. It's in the cut, you have to look for it if you want to try it out. Also, don't worry... the place is opens, the doors and windows just look dark and outdated... but it's open! read more

Great Filipino food! I'm a fan of the lunch specials as they are generous and affordable.
