Came for light dinner and enjoyed the Ribeye medium term mouthwatering marble feast beautifully presented (did not last for the pic of hungry patrons) for dessert I tried carrot cale but found it a little dry texture, flavor was balanced and tasty. Dinned with some co-workers and enjoyed the evening. Seated quickly (with a reservation) and service was great. The restaurant has a very open feel to it with an open kitchen and a large wall of spirits in the dinning area. The best part of our meal was the sushi. Excellent presentation on the specialty rolls (the California Roll not as much). The meals were hit and miss. I had the hamburger with a side on Mac and Cheese. The hamburger was good, but maybe not $19 good! Loved the Mac and Cheese. Great flavor and the crunchy topping. Big enough to share for sure. One of the people in my group had to send her fish back because she said it was served cold... maybe because we had a group of eight, and it took a while to get everything ready to be served at the same time? The restaurant gladly (and quickly) remade her fish and she was happy with everything. The consensus on our table was that the Shrimp Crusted Mahi Mahi was the best meal that was ordered. Don't know why I settled for a hamburger with all this great fish in the menu... maybe it was the 2 pre meal Dirty Martinis? read more

More like 4 1/2 stars. Service was superb and the food was very, very good. It's been a very long time since I'd eaten here. I forgot how good they were and still are. And I assumed I'd done a previous Yelp review. We actually tried to have lunch at another restaurant across the street; But the music was so ear piercingly loud, that we left. We were greeted warmly here and seated right away. They were busy though pleasantly so. We sat inside, but they have outside dining and an outside bar, too. I was in the mood for a salad, so got their chopped salad with turkey. I asked for them to leave out the onions and the cheese. Not a problem as it's made from scratch. The salad was excellent and I liked the dressing on it, too. Nice large chunks of turkey, slices of avocado, bacon, red cabbage, romaine lettuce, cucumbers, etc. One of the best salads I've had in a while. I'd definitely get this one again. My husband had their meatloaf entree. The meatloaf was a large oval slice that looked like a streak --as it had grilled hatch marks. It was topped with a bit of gravy. On the side, we're real chunky mashed potatoes and al dente green beans. He obviously liked his meal also as he ate every crumb. They have a large menu -- from burgers to sushi. You can casually dine or be more Boca-ish. It's your choice. I'm sure we will be back again. And this time much sooner. There's lots more items I'd like to try on their menu. read more

Great hot lunch today! Friendly ambiance and you can actually hear your table partner's conversation while you are waiting for your food. (Not like other establishments in the area who turn tables fast by blasting you with music@) I had the BBQ Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and string beans. It was very good! The Passion Fruit Ice tea is wonderful as well if you want an alternative to an adult beverage. read more

The food was excellent as always but I have to say that our server Sean made our evening even more enjoyable. He was extremely attentive to our 18 month old grandson , making sure to get his food out as quickly as possible. He was pleasant and gave great recommendations from the menu. We will definitely be dining at Max's and will request Sean as our server ! read more

We came here for brunch last Sunday. It was a beautiful day we sat outside service was on point. The Bloody Mary's were excellent. We started with the fried calamari and zucchini, and crispy brussel sprouts. I ordered the avocado toast , it only comes with one egg I added a second egg with no problem, delicious. My friend had the cream brûlée French toast said it was amazing. Can't go wrong here!! read more

Had a terrible experience which overshadows any review for service, which was fine. Had mahi and fried rice which was very tasty. The management is in need of training starting with "the customer is always right ". My friend had a $200 gift certificate and invited me to join her as her guest for dinner. My friend. Is a regular customer at Maxs. I have been there many times. Never again. We were told that the gift certificate was missing numbers and it could not be processed. They asked my friend for anything she might have to corroborate the authenticity of the certificate. We sat for over an hour, having finished our meal, waiting for them to authenticate. They threw it back on the customer, demanding an email that would have some numbers. My friend searched her phone and could not find it. During this event which lasted two hours, we were not offered so much as a glass of water. Finally, we paid the check and left with the unused certificate. Once my friend got home she found the email that accompanied the gift card and returned to the restaurant. She asked them to tear up our charge slips and to give her back the difference in cash. They refused. On principle, I will never eat there again. There are plenty great restaurants with helpful staff. Try Latitudes at Delray Sands if you want a perfect piece of fish. You will be treated with respect. read more

Service was very good. Food was good. Weak that new ownership removed the lunch special. Burt knew how to keep the people coming back. Max's has been a fixture in Mizner, hope the new owners cater to the business people that kept that place thriving for so many years. read more

Great food in a beautiful outdoor setting with fantastic service. Everyone at the table agreed the Baba Ghanoush was the best we had ever had! It was so creamy and savory and the toasted chickpeas, pine nuts and red peppers brought such a surprise element to the dish. It was just fantastic! The Brussels were delicious as well. Very roasted with lots of crispy loose leaves and complimented so well by goat cheese I'm shocked more chefs haven't thought to pair them together. The dinners were all fantastic as well. The fish dishes in particular were stars. It's so rare to find Trout on a menu in Florida and I was so happy to indulge in my favorite fish I normally only get out when traveling out west. The addition of the dill to the burre blanc sauce was so unique and really elevated the whole dish. The grilled winter squash side was amazing! read more

We absolutely love this place. Amazing salads and sushi. Service was great. And we loved sitting outside on the patio. We will definitely be back. read more

Have dined here many times (with a reservation) all outdoors with registered service dog in stroller. Today we were told there were only two designated areas outside where we could sit with our dog whether she was a service dog or not. Way in the back or out front by the street where it was literally 10° hotter than under the overhang. Asked to speak to the manager, who told us that they have now decided to enforce their policy because one woman threw a dog across the table at another woman two weeks ago. In Florida, it is against the law to restrict the area where a diner with a service dog can sit. In addition, it is against the law in Florida to indicate that a service dog cannot be in a stroller (as a second manager implied) when I called in follow up. The outside area was virtually empty; only two women at one table. We indicated a number of tables out of the way where we would have been happy to have lunch but were told none of them were acceptable. Did not want to make a scene so we left and had lunch at the Yard House nearby. The Yard House was excellent!!! We will not be returning to Max's. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

Love Max's!! Was not my first or last time there. Service was amazing! We sat outside during happy hour at a high top. We were there for my friends birthday and turned out to be one of the bartenders birthday as well! We ordered the calamari, spinach dip and margarita pizzette. Everything was delicious!! We had wine (can't go wrong with Josh cab) and the. Day girl had a dirty martini, which was made to perfection. I highly recommend Maxs and so happy they added a tarp and umbrellas for shade outside read more

I have been coming to Max's Grille since they opened. I have always enjoyed good service and delicious food. Today, for lunch, we ordered hummus and breadsticks for an appetizer to share and I got the chopped salad. Our meals were delivered quickly but the appetizer was never ordered. My salad was underwhelming. I've had this salad many times before and it is usually loaded with a generous amount of cucumbers, carrots, chickpeas, corn and other goodies. Today the bowl was mainly filled with iceberg lettuce and a small smattering of the other items. I finished the salad but left hungry. Is Max's Grille under new management? read more

My bestie wanted to eat here on NYE. So, we ate here. We were sat right away. Out server was really nice, wish I had her name. Anyway, I ordered the Max's Radiatore pasta. The pasta was not al dente and was very chewy. The chicken was OK but it had little flavor. What made the dish better was the goat cheese. My friend did not care for her Margherita Pizzette. I did not try her food so cannot say my opinion. I do think service was good considering it was New Year's Eve. Unsure if I would come back. read more

Wonderful flavors, good portions, and excellent service. Love the vibrant environment of Mizner Park.

Went here for dinner and this was a good time. It was also a nice night so I sat outdoors to enjoy my meal. I had the loaded chicken Cesar salad and that was delicious. The staff was not lying as the salad was very loaded. I had to take some of it to go. The quesadilla was also good as well. Nice night to eat outdoors to take in the atmosphere of this place. It was definitely a fun night so I am looking forward to coming back here again. read more

We actually came here by accident when a friend suggested a restaurant with a similar name, but it was a wonderful accident as the experience was great. We started with the chicken lettuce wraps (delicious), crispy Brussels Sprouts (also great) and some hummus. I had the Pan Roasted Snapper, which was large and tasty. My dad (93) had the bacon wrapped meatloaf, which he enjoyed. We had a couple of birthdays so they brought MIXED BERRY CRÈME BRULEE PIE and FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE, both were delicious. Service was great and the atmosphere is wonderful. read more

I love heading over to Boca for a different scene! Max's grille is one of my favorite spots to stop in for a drink. They also have a great happy hour from 5pm-6:30 p.m. They have a few brunch options but we decided to stick to lunch. We started with the Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Brussels Sprouts. The chicken lettuce wraps were pretty bland so I probably wouldn't order them again. The Brussels sprouts were delicious and topped with goat cheese. The Firecracker roll was $26 which is pretty expensive but it was worth it! The shrimp paired well with the asparagus, cream cheese, avocado, and tuna! I would definitely get it again! The best part is Sangria and mimosas are only $5 during brunch. The mimosas were huge! read more

Nice vibe but attentive to detail lacking. I was told they don't grill anything so calamari and zucchini were pale and undercooked. Chef should make adjustments when u don't want fried food. They don't grill really? Branzino was fine but came out with no sauce and dry, veggies arrived 20 mins later. I told mgr we are not paying for the appetizer, and we didn't. When in Boca next winter will try another restaurant in Mizner Park. This would not be an issue at any place we dine at in NY. read more

The best Brussels I've ever had in my life and I don't even like goat cheese...somehow they had the perfect amount that it tasted perfect

Did Max's undergo new ownership? Ive been going there a lot of years and was last there in December 2024. I went today and the menu was changed and the food was mediocre. It used to be excellent. Sat at outside bar. Wasn't even busy. The female bartender was too busy doing whatever she was doing behind the bar talking to her coworkers to ask if we wanted more water wasn't friendly. Had an attitude try to make a little conversation with her. I just really wasn't interested in solving us of course we left the 20% tip cause we're nice people, but if the new owners want business, they really need to step up their service. The old staff used to be much better. read more

Marcos was an wonderful server. Got to know him as well My husband had the trout which he loved . I had the worst special of Shrimp Stirfry and it was anything but stir fry. Max's Grille has been a Mizner Park staple since it was opened in 1991 by Dennis Max who left in 2018 to pursue other endeavors in Deerfield Beach. The restaurant was taken over by partner Burt Rapoport. This year marks the restaurants 30th anniversary. To celebrate the milestone the restaurant underwent a $600,000 makeover. After the response presented by Burt I am going to have to lower this to one star. I was trying to cut them some slack because it was a holiday but the unwarranted attack on me and the videotaping means I will never be back. It was St. Patricks Day and my friend and I had plans to go to Dublin's but when we arrived there were hundreds of people not wearing a mask and it looked like a super spreader event. We ended up across the street at Max's Grille who kindly found us a table in front of the window which was very nice and perfect for watching the St. Patrick's Day revelers stroll by. After looking over the menu it seems very eclectic. They had St. Patrick's Day staples Shepard's pie and corned beef and cabbage. They seem to be mainly an American bistro with soups, salads, and sandwiches but they have recently added sushi. Kevin was our server and we decided to start with an appetizer of spinach dip ($13). It took forever to come and when it finally showed up it was a small bowl accompanied by mostly tiny broken chips. We requested a new basket of chips but the second batch tasted stale. After the long wait for the dip I was concerned about how long it would take to get the entrees and Kevin assures is it would only be 15 minutes and he made good on his promise. The weirdest thing happened while we were waiting for the main course, they practically turned off the lights on us! Apparently they dim the lights real low to give you the hint it's time to leave. Real subtle. Trust me I would have been out a lot sooner if you had brought my dip to the table sooner than the 45 minutes it took! Finally our food arrived and it was fine. I ordered a burger that came with fries ($15). The burger was large and I loved the house made pickles they put on it. The fries were terrible. My final bill was $26 for a burger, half a spinach dip, and a water. Oh and they turned the lights down on us. For that kind of money they would have to do better on the service and food to have me come back. After your response this is a one star. I will never be back. I added in the ridiculous amount of time it took to even order the terrible dip. The lights were too dark for me to see and I asked if they could be turned up and they weren't. You checked your surveillance video? If you are videotaping me without my permission, that is a violation of the law in Florida. I am totally creeped out by your comment and I hope everyone who has an unfavorable review of your restaurant knows they are subject to being called out. and are being watched while dining. I am so uncomfortable right now. You did a great job of showing your true colors Burt. Unless you like being illegally videotaped I suggest you stay far away from this restaurant. read more

Went to lunch at Max's Grille in Mizner Park. We sat outside at a table in the shade. They had a 50% off special going on bottles of wine and I had a great Chardonnay for around $30. I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice for my meal and was very happy with it. It comes with ground chicken, stir-fried vegetables, jasmine rice, a fried egg and hoisin bbq sauce. The portion size was large and I was able to take half of it home for another delicious meal. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. I was in the Boca area and it was extremely hot so I wanted to eat something fresh. This place did not disappoint. I ordered the shrimp avocado salad and it was a delight. Everything was super fresh and light which is exactly what I was looking for. My only preference would have been having actual avocado slices on the salad but it was overall tasty with the various vegetables and dressing used. Everyone else at the table enjoyed what they ordered. I can tell the chef puts in hard work and dedication into their dishes which is something I greatly appreciate. If you're looking to eat lean, refreshing food then I'd recommend coming here. The prices are a bit higher but it is appropriate for the location of the restaurant. The employees are kind and it's situated in a good place. I would come here again! read more
