I was having electrical issues at my house and my oven and stovetop wasn't getting power. I called Darin and he was able to schedule me for the next morning. He showed up early, diagnosed the problem and was able to fix it in less than an hour. His prices are extremely competitive compared to other electricians I talked to. Awesome service! I put out my yelp request to 3 electrical contractors at around 5:00pm on a Thursday, for some minor electrical work (installation of a new chandelier and two dimmer switches). Darin was the 2nd to respond in about 15 minutes (the 1st to respond was a "sorry I'm too busy" from another contractor). Communication was great and I was very surprised and impressed when he said he could come out that Saturday morning. He said he would be here by 8:00am, and pulled up around 7:55. He was very knowledgeable and efficient and had everything done in about an hour! I was very pleased with his work and was really thankful to get it all taken care of 1st thing Saturday morning-- it didn't interrupt my usual weekend plans! Highly recommend!! I wouldn't consider another electrician in town so long as these guys are here. Darin, who is the owner and does most of the smaller ad-hoc projects (as I was told) was the one who came out for me. I just had a ceiling fan that needed to be fixed (troubleshoot why it didn't work after I tried to install it - no Tim Taylor am I), and a light fixture installed. Darin was a living example of customer service - he should probably teach a class for people in service-oriented fields. Why do I say that? He took the time to explain things when asked and wasn't annoyed by any question. He was a professional, and just generally looked happy to do his job. The best way to describe it, is that you could tell he was someone who knew what he was doing and loved doing it. I think inherently as people, most of us can spot that, and just know that is the difference between good and awesome. I think pricing was fair and reasonable as well, I did get multiple quotes for the same job as I like to compare my options. Interestingly enough, each company had a different way of quoting the work, but Max's seemed the most reasonable and fair way to do it, so the price was just another reason to give them 5 stars! Late night last week, only my refrigerator goes out so I check the breaker and sure enough, it's been tripped. I flipped it and after 10-15 mins it kept triggering. After having one electrician never show, I proceeded to call 7 electricians...earliest appt was 2.5 weeks out. Darin called me back, and was able to identify my issue over the phone (just from a photo!), and come right out and fix it immediately (might have just been lucky timing, but he gets credit for it either way). The rating is low for one reason only, cost. I scheduled the service to do three things. First to change out 12 breakers in the fuse box to 12 AFCI breakers ($1,200). To replace one outlet with a GFCI outlet ($53) and correct and upside down outlet. ($17.50). In addition there is a $75 service call fee which does not count against the bill. Subtracting out the cost of the parts, the hourly rate for the service is around $450/hour. You should consider purchasing your own parts and asking how much it costs to install them. Total cost for these three items $1,345.50, stunningly expensive. read more

Darrin and his team have been wonderful to work with in my new condo. They have added outlets, light fixtures, ceiling fans, doorbells, etc. Darrin has a lot of home automation gadgets himself so he is familiar with Ring, Nest, Phillips Hue, etc. He is flexible with scheduling and works on the weekends too. They scheduled me within a few days, but due to a cancellation, they got to me faster. They were fast and efficient (the tasks were straightforward, though). The guy replacing the light switch answered my questions, and changed procedures slightly when I requested them. (For example, I wanted connections to the switch's side screws instead of the back screws, so I could see and test them more easily in the future.) Reasonable price. They wore masks (though one guy needed to cover his nose more frequently, but he was pretty much outside). I'd go with them again. read more
