I was excited to see a Korean place near me, but I was a little disappointed in the food. Ambience was appealing, very clean and modern. Appetizers were the typical Korean restaurant offers and enjoyable. Korean soda was also very yummy. We ordered our go-to items, Soy Garlic Chicken and Jap Chae. Both items were weirdly sticky which made both eating and sharing very difficult. The flavor of the chicken was not bad, but I wasn't a fan of how thick and sticky the glaze was. I'd be willing to try again and order something else, since it didn't taste bad necessarily (a bit on the sweeter side, so I assume that's why it was so sticky), but I've had the same items done much better elsewhere. There's not much around the area, so you do have to travel there but it's totally worth it. Very easy to find parking. We got take out because we were in a rush, but everything was still so good! We ordered 3 things: -Honey and cheese chicken: the chicken is huge and nicely fried, but the seasoning is the star! It might sound a little odd, but trust me, it's delicious. It reminds me of honey butter KFC. Just a hint of sweetness. -Soy garlic chicken: I thought the combo of the honey and cheese and soy garlic was great. The honey and cheese is more of a dry rub and you get the sweet and sticky wet rub of the soy garlic. -Rose tteokbokki: honestly one of the best rose tteokbokki I've had! It looks like a small portion, but it's very rich and filling. The sauce is nice and creamy, not watery at all. It comes with some bacon and hot dog slices for salt. Lastly- it comes with ramen! We ordered the Japchae, the Sweet chicken wings, and the Soy & Garlic chicken wings. The Japchae was very chewy and elasticity. It wasn't bad, but very interesting eating it. Both flavors of the chicken wings were good. I enjoyed the Soy & Garlic a little bit more than the Sweet, although I liked the Sweet too. The gal who gave us the food told us which plate had which flavor when she gave it to us. But after eating both flavors, it kind of seemed like they were switched. However, at the end of our meal, we asked which plate was which and it was the same answer as before. So hopefully I am giving the correct review of the actual dish. Got food from Doordash from this place and it surprisingly did not disappoint! We ordered the pork katsu, beef kimbap, and tteokbokki, which all came with a nice assortment of banchan sides. The pork katsu was light and crispy and came with rice and a salad - it paired perfectly with the sauces provided. The kimbap were generously filled - rice was soft and the beef was seasoned well. The tteokbokki was fully loaded with ramen and a hard-boiled egg - which definitely made it worth the price! Just a heads up, the tteokbokki is pretty spicy, so be prepared! We went on a Friday night mid-November and the place was already packed at the start of dinner service! The staff let us know very clearly and humbly that wait times could be longer as they were understaffed for the day. We appreciated the clarity! The food was worth the wait! The bean sprouts were pleasant. My wife liked their pickled cucumbers.. my favorite was the sweet radishes. The bibimbap had a nice burnt rice texture to it and looked vibrant. I drove by this place and saw the name change and new mgmt sign. You know I had to try! I discover this spot has Korean fried chicken (KFC) and have been searching for good KFC around the area. I placed my order via phone for 2 small orders of KFC, one in hot and spicy, the other in soy garlic. They worker said it'll take about 15 min to receive my order. It turned out to be closer than a little over 20 min. The restaurant only had two other groups dining and they looked mostly done. I would advise you to place your order via phone if you are doing so via take out. The chicken came out to $40 including tax. They lasted well during the drive home to Hayward. It came with a side of kimchi, cucumbers and radish. I wished they provided more of it because it seemed like the sides could only feed one person. Each small order comes with 7 pieces for $18. It seems pricey, but the chicken was huge. I loved how crispy the outside was and how juicy the inside was. The hot and spicy sauce had the right kick, it's spicy but doesn't have that crazy burn. What a great find! My wife, daughter and I found this on yelp and we made our first visit over the weekend. Naturally we went for the classic orig fried chicken and the budaejigaea. The crunch / moistness of the chicken did not disappoint. There was definitely richness/finess in the broth ( we tasted hints if anchovies maybe?). We also topped off our order w some jeong and tteok just so we can sample the variety. Food was awesome! The place was nicely decorated and not overly noisy so we cans till have a conversation. The staff took time to highlight some of the flavors that we were tasting in the jeong and repeatedly came by to check on our stovetop (so to not overcook the ingredients). I didn't love their fish cake, both as banchan and in the tteokbokki, but that's okay, everything else was fire. I got the original tteokbokki and the sauce was decently spicy, like shin ramyun spice level, as someone else mentioned, and I was eating it as it was piping hot so I was sweating but in a good way lol. It came with ramen noodles and a hard boiled egg, no add on required. The rice cakes were perfectly chewy. I will definitely come back again soon for their jajangmyeon and soy garlic fried chicken with my husband, I can't wait to try more things on the menu (also the rose tteokboki). Service was friendly. I was only one of two tables when I first came in around 15 minutes after they opened (for a weekday lunch), but about a handful of other groups came in slowly as I was there for the next hour or so. Still lots of space in the restaurant, which was very clean, which I really appreciate. I love the big booths that they have on the perimeter of the seating area, with regular tables in the middle. Good for accommodating a few big groups. The booth seats can comfortably seat 3 people to one side of a booth. We tried to go for dinner on a Friday night around 7:30...don't do it, groups and lots of people waiting outside the door. Unsure how quickly the line went because we didn't want to wait, but I'd say go during the weekdays if you can to avoid a wait/rush. Found this place on IG and came to try it out with some friends visiting from out of town. We were a group of 10 (including 4 kids) so I was expecting a long wait/slower service. I was happy to be able to be seated right away and surprised that service was pretty fast as well. We ordered jap chae, this shrimp toast appetizer (really yummy!), Kim Chee fried rice, and got a bunch of chicken (original, honey & cheese, and soy garlic). We decided to check out this new Korean spot for ourselves. We already have one favorite (Volcano Island), but we figured it was worth giving this place a try. Pricing wasn't too bad, so I'll focus on the food we ordered. Japchae: The flavor was really good--savory and well-seasoned. But the texture almost did me in. The noodles were extremely sticky and so long that I literally almost choked. It felt like the noodles were sliding down my throat without giving me a chance to chew. Tasty, yes, but the texture made it hard to enjoy fully. I should have asked for scissors to cut the noodles lol Egg Fried Rice: It came with black bean sauce on the side. It was okay--simple but tasty. My daughter enjoyed the jajangmyeon as well, although I personally wasn't a fan of the huge slices of onions. Popcorn Chicken: I was excited to try the honey-with-cheese flavor. I thought it would be a sauce since it was listed as one of their flavors, so I asked for it on the side. It ended up being a powder, and honestly, I didn't like the taste at all. Soy & Garlic Fried Chicken: This is our must-order at every Korean restaurant--our absolute favorite flavor. Sadly, this is where the biggest disappointment came. The pieces were way too big. The outside was crispy and the sauce tasted good, but the breading kept falling off. Once you bit into the chicken itself, there was no flavor at all--just bland meat. If they cut the pieces smaller so the breading stayed on and each bite had flavor, it would've been so much better.
