This has got to be THE best Korean restaurant I've been to yet!! There's plenty of parking outside, even on a Friday night. Right upon entry, you will notice how quaint this place is and on the right, you see a Tv monitor with microphone stands. They don't only have Korean food on their menu, but Japanese as well! It's a small selection, but you can have both cuisines if you will. There was a large party there so I'd like to think that's why it took some time for our order to be taken, and for drinks to arrive. Everyone who worked here was very sweet and friendly! They move quick too, as that should tell you how busy and popular they can be. Our orders arrived fairly quick considering the amount of tables occupied. We were sooo excited to dig in ...just look at the photos for reference, how can you resist! Portions are huge, and we def had leftovers for just two people. We managed to finish the mushroom soup with a bowl of rice. Our favorite entree was the japchae, very flavorful but not overly salty and the bonchon sides paired well with it. We probably won't order the k chicken again~ it was alright and goes well with the sliced cabbage underneath. We will chop up more cabbage at home since the chicken flavor is a bit more saucy. Before we left, one of the sweet ladies told us to come back next time and stay for karaoke. For the price, I think it's higher than other places but it's worth it. OMG! Such a great place that is closing in 3 days! Their menu is perhaps one of the larger ones that I have observed in the Korean places that are not focused on bbq. Well this place what a treat! They were able to accommodate our large party of 13 individuals which was a mix of adults and children. Due to our large size we pre-ordered our food which made the process super easy when we arrived our food was basically almost ready which was amazing. I had the Ddeokbokki with cheese and ramen and it was dreamy and spicy! By the way the cheese and ramen was extra but it was totally worth it as I love both those things. My friends loved all their food in fact the portions were so large we ended up sharing a lot of our food with each other family style which was really nice. Ordered the Sweet and Mild Chicken to go. Person who took the order over the phone was pleasant and efficient. Arrived at the restaurant and it looked very nice from the outside. Never gone out in this area and decided to look on Yelp for food spots and this popped up and it did not disappoint. Got the dragon roll which was good. Tastes just like any dragon roll. I always get medium but it could use a bit more heat. I'm always afraid to order spicy and then can't eat it because it's too spicy. But it was a great dinner. Food was good! The cali deluxe roll had a delicious unagi sauce and the teriyaki chicken was pretty standard. The fried chicken was crispy and tasty, the sauce was very sticky. Kids wanted korean and Japanese food so decided to try this place out. Galbi, kimchi fried rice, mandu potstickers were good. The korean fried chicken was ok. I did like how everything came out super hot. I got the salmon roll, but the sauce tasted odd. Would recommend just ordering korean here. Very friendly owner and good service. I enjoyed this Korean Japanese fusion restaurant! It's located in an industrial area so easy to miss but once you're inside, there is ample seating and a big menu filled with Korean classics like tofu soup, kimchi pancake, bibimbap, and more. You can also get sushi rolls or ramen if that's more your cup of tea. We got banchan automatically as well. I liked the kimchi pancake and enjoyed the soup, but would have appreciated a little more flavor in the banchan and the flavors of the soup were just a tiny bit bland for my tastes (I may have also been dehydrated, which can affect tastebuds). But overall, everything tasted fresh, the portions were decent, and the service friendly. I would come here again for opportunities to try more dishes! read more

I'm a little behind on my posts, but we stopped by K Kitchen, and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is redone and has nice decor. We sat in a spacious, comfortable booth, but there are regular tables and the space can hold groups.  There is plenty of parking in the lot.  Our servers and, I think, the owners were really nice. They are super attentive but not overbearing. It was a really nice, relaxed yet accommodating experience. The food (we shared everything) 1. Soft Tofu Soup--it was super tasty. If you have never had soft tofu soup, try it. It's comforting and delicious. The only thing it was missing was an egg. If this soup had it five stars. 2. Soy garlic wings: very tasty, and they had a nice crunch. They weren't soggy. A little spice would have been great. The wings are a nice size but not overly big, so the chicken is tender.  3. Shrimp tempura--it was a nice starter.  4. Terra Beer: Crispy and Delicious  5. Banchan--this is one of my favorites. I heard Fish Day recently renovated and rebranded to K Kitchen and Fish Day. Previous version was very yummy so thought it would be worth a try. I visited on a Saturday during lunch time. STARS (stand out qualities) -customer service was one of the biggest stars. the owner-couple were so warm, responsive and helpful -local business owned by people of color -food was good quality AND quantity -food came out freshly made and hot -food presentation was nice -owners gave extra for certain banchan since we ate it quickly -reusable eatingware -beautiful interior dining area with booths and tables/chairs -clean bathroom -plenty of parking STAIRS (areas of growth) -recommend compostable or biodegradable large takeout boxes (they did have small compostable ones) -prices feel high to me but I think they are competitive Bay Area prices. Fish Day got a complete makeover and now serves authentic Korean dishes alongside its Japanese sushi rolls, rice, and noodle dishes! As you park your car in this tiny strip, you wouldn't expect much in terms of food, however, you'll be in for a surprise. Located next to one of the oldest standing Dominos pizza in the area, you'll find K-Kitchen and Fish Day. When you step in, you'll be greeted with beautiful modern decor illuminated by warm and natural lighting. With plenty of booths and tables, your party of 2-4 will fit just fine. Any bigger parties may need to be open to split booths or adjust some free standing tables to fit you all. The dine in experience is the way to go but you can certainly order take out from the front register. Keep in mind that they offer a 4% cash discount. If you're here for lunch on a weekday, they have lunch specials that include an entree, salad, glass noodles, and rice for less than $20. It's a pretty decent deal and likely will fill you up for a meal, maybe two! We came on a weekend so we didn't take advantage of the deal but we did order a good number of traditional dishes to try. If you order an entree, you also get the side dishes (banchan) - we didn't know but the owners gave some for us to try anyway. Side dishes - good mix of vegetable dishes including potatoes, bean sprouts, kimchi, broccoli, and pickled radishes. Chive seafood jeon (seafood pancake) - 8 big slices and packed with ingredients! It came out hot and served with a dipping sauce. Good mix of vegetables and seafood bits. Ddeokbokki (rice sticks) - delicious! Combined with thin fish cakes and onions, this fragrant and spicy dish has a great mix of textures including the chewiness of the rice sticks and the sweet soft bites of the onions and the sauce soaking fish cakes. This dish goes well with rice, noodles, or bits from the pancake. Good hearty dish! Soy garlic chicken - 9 pieces of crispy chicken wings and drumsticks marinated in a soy and garlic sauce beautifully presented over a pile of fresh sliced cabbage. Great dish to share! Salmon lovers roll - salmon meets California roll. Solid roll, nothing fancy, just good and filling. Goon mandu/gyoza - we received a complimentary small tasting of their fried dumplings and they were so crispy and juicy! Paired well with the dipping sauce but held their own without it. The kids loved it. The owners provide exceptional service; in my old days training in the customer service, this would be referred to as "giving the pickle" - they definitely give the pickle. I am so proud to have an awesome pair of business owners operating a clean, welcoming Korean restaurant serving delicious authentic Korean dishes and crowd favorites for new and previous customers. I feel like generally customer service has gone downhill a lot in the last few years--but this place made me and my family feel so welcomed We were the only ones here, so they were super attentive! But a lot of people were picking up takeout too. I was visiting my family in Union City and noticed this restaurant had recently rebranded, so I took my parents and younger brother here. The restaurant was very aesthetically pleasing, clean, a lot of seats, and they were playing some old songs which was a nice change from the current music you hear nowadays. My mom was singing along! The owner was our waiter and was so friendly and great. Food came out quick as well, and was delicious. He even explained to my parents what banchan was and the different side dishes. I haven't come to FIsh Day for a while and am glad I visited again. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I came in close to their closing time, but the staff was still chatting and making jokes with me with smiles on their faces. The service was quick too. I ordered a golden cali roll, lion king, and chicken katsu with California roll. My brother liked the Golden Cali, and lion king rolls. The rolls were great and satisfied his sushi cravings. I enjoyed the chicken katsu with cali roll. The katsu was delicious and crispy; the chicken was tender. The Cali roll was also good. It came with salad and an orange slice. Still as clean as before but now there are upgraded furniture and an area set up with microphones, disco ball, and big screen TV presumably for karaoke. I came on a weekend morning so it was relatively empty. Good amount of takeouts. I ordered the pork bulgolgi off the lunch column in the menu. Turns out only the dinner column is available during weekends, which explained the huge portion but nonetheless would've been good to be informed when ordering. My first impression on this place was such a great experience. We came in on a slow Tuesday night and the owner was there and greeted us. We told him that it was our first time and he explained the story or their restaurant. They recently renovated and they did a really nice job. I ordered the Pork Spicy Bulgogi Lunch Box. The portions are big and it comes with rice, glass noodles, and rice. The bulgogi is a little bit spicy but tastes good. Hidden gem, great food and service. High quality meats in their k-bbq and their seafood pancake is amazing, it actually has seafood in it.

When we went in, we didn't realize they were about to close (it was 7 min before closing), and we asked if it was okay to still eat there because we didn't mind going elsewhere, but the owner was super sweet and let us stay. The food was great, and we left a large tip since they stayed open for us but the owner gave some of the money back because he said it was too much! We really appreciated the kindness. As I was ordering, I was sad to find out they no longer make their beef fried rice. One of my favorite dishes there. But I was excited to see kimchi fried rice. So I ordered Kimchi fried rice and a Dragon Roll which I use to order from here all the time. The Kimchi fried rice was bland, hardy any kimchi and looked like there was chopped up pickled radishes. This review is mainly for their unsanitary ways for storing their chicken. I placed my order online and walked over a few mins later to pick up the food. I was early so I waited. Once ready I walked to the counter and noticed they had cooked chicken sitting out UNCOVERED next to the stove. It almost made me gag just looking at it out. There was about 5 open containers of cooked chicken just sitting out. I understand COVID wasn't real to some people but even without COVID that's disgusting. I ordered a teriyaki chicken bento box with cali roll and the cali roll tasted funny. I can't figure out what it was but I couldn't finish it. Thankfully the chicken was throughly cooked but I had to get over the fact that it was sitting out like that cause I paid $17 for the full plate. Definitely will not be back again. K Kitchen is an updated renovation to the former Fish Day location that in the past served very tasty fast fired/rolled Japanese and Korean cuisine. Since the rebranding, they've embraced more of the Korean cuisine and turned the place into a proper sit down experience, with a nice interior decor. While I do miss the fast and easy meals that we used to get here, the vibe and kind demeanor of the staff remain the same as they have throughout the years. The food is pricey, but the portions are very generous for what you pay. The fried chicken had a nice breading and crunch, however watch out for a few bones that may have gotten into the breading. Also, the pieces were huge! The banchan that was provided was varied and all made for good snacking as we waited for our dishes. I really like the marinated potatoes and japchae (not common in other Korean places around the area!) We got the tteokboki, which was decent, and the bulgogi which was a large heap of meat. The bibimbap also was a lot more than we had expected. And yes, they kept some of the Fish Day originals, particularly some of the sushi rolls. I'm partial to this place because it used to be my family's go-to diner while my dad was alive, so it holds a soft spot in my heart as a place of gathering and socializing. With the facelift, the spot definitely has the potential to be an up and coming pocha or just a place to eat some good food and share a few drinks among friends (best to come with a good number of people to try more dishes). I'd give a 4.5/5 just because the price may not look as enticing as when they used to be just Fish Day, but I think the effort they put into the new menu really shows. I was Craving Sushi after Getting my Massage. So I rolled to Fish Day in my Whip Blue Thunder!!! Fish Day is located in a Strip Mall so there is plenty of Parking . So I parked my Whip right in front and rolled in like a Boss!!! I perused the Menu and ordered a Numbers 21 Spider Roll with Unagi !! And a Number 15 Sashimi Combo with Rice and Salad !! With Salmon, Tuna and. Escola Sashimi!!! I paid by Credit Card. 15 minutes later my Food was Ready!!! Most of Fish Day Business is To/Go ! But they have Tables so you can Eat there also! Service was Friendly and Efficient. I opted to eat there! They Play Sinatra and Martin Show Tunes for Background Music!! The Roll was well Constructed and was very tasty !!! Didn't even know it was here....This place was kind of hidden. It's next to Dominos pizza in a small plaza with just enough parking spaces. Came here with a lot of family and reserved 3 tables. We even ordered ahead of time. The plates we ordered were pretty good portions for price and size. I thought it was pretty fresh and good. I ordered the Tuna and Salmon Sashimi plate and it was a lot. It came with rice and salad. The fish slices were pretty fat slices. The Sashimi salmon was more fresh then the tuna though.
