The food wasn't bad. I got some brisket, which was happily not too fatty. I liked the BBQ sauce. The sides we got were pretty good as well; we tried some cornbread, and some macaroni and cheese. The elote was spicy! However, service is not good. I placed the order to go. After 20 or so minutes waiting, I noticed that a couple that had come in a few minutes after we ordered were eating. I got in line to ask for ETA on our food and the employee said my food is what had been sitting at the bar for at least 10 minutes. She didn't call my name, or ask one of the multiple people restaurant employees to let me know or anything. We weren't sitting at a table; I was standing with a stroller trying to keep a toddler pacified whilst we waited. It's not that I'm EVER in Lemont, but based upon this experience I wouldn't come back if I am nearby.

This is a cute local gem in downtown Lemont! When you enter, you decide what you want and order and then they bring the food to you. The girl taking our order was super friendly and gave suggestions. There is plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. We decided to sit outside since it was a beautiful day, but then had to move inside due to bees. I decided on the brisket slider and a side of mac & cheese. It was all very delicious, but I didn't feel like it was filling enough my friend got the loaded nachos with brisket on top and it was a lot of food! I almost wish I would've gotten that we both enjoyed our meals and it was nice that they had three different barbecue sauces that you could choose from to put on your meal. Overall seems like a great place to get some good food and hang out!

Great local bbq spot in downtown Lemont. It's pretty straightforward, walk in, order at two counter and they'll bring it to you inside or out. Summertime outside there's often music on the weekends. Super casual and all ages friendly. Food is good! Recommend the loaded tots with protein add to share. Pulled pork sandwich is also tasty and a good value. Def worth checking out.

We love BBQ and were excited to try a new spot. Overall, we liked the TX theming, but the food fell flat. The ribs were really dry and I could not recommend them. I also did not care for the Mac n Cheese. I did like the drinks, but won't be back, too expensive and just didn't hit the mark.

Combo platter which was really good, and at $50, a really good value.

Matt's BBQ occupies an old bank in downtown Lemont, IL. This space is pretty cool, and even features the bank's old vault behind the bar. They also have a large, covered patio outside of the establishment that is open - weather permitting. They offer a full bar, and I was meeting an old friend for lunch recently, so we decided to "belly-up" and see how the BBQ stacks up. I don't want to come off sounding like a prick, but I smoke meats pretty much weekly in my backyard on both a drum and pellet smoker, so I rarely eat out when it comes to barbeque. However, Matt's got some good reviews, so I decided to give it a go. I was happy I did. First off , our bartender/server, Emily R was outstanding. She was friendly, made great menu recommendations and despite being pretty busy for a Wednesday afternoon, we waited for nothing. Hats off to Emily - Matt, please keep her happy because she's one of your biggest fans. We ordered some drinks and split the sampler platter for $50. We upgraded the sides from smalls to mediums and added 1 sausage and 1 Texas Twinkie (a jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese, pulled pork and wrapped in bacon). This was completely unnecessary, as we had plenty of food for the two of us, but my buddy was able to take home leftovers - which was appreciated. So what was good?? The pulled pork was spot-on. The house made sausage was delicious and reminded me of these homemade hot-links I used to get at an old cabinet smoking, carryout spot called Fitzee's on the southside. Simply delicious. The mac and cheese and potato salad were both very good, and the Texas Twinkies were also a standout. Very flavorful without being too spicy. Not so good were the burnt ends - which were very dry and tough. They definitely needed sauce, and Matt's offered a Carolina vinegar-based sauce, a standard BBQ sauce and a hot BBQ sauce. I'm not a fan of any Carolina BBQ sauce, but my buddy is, and he said it was good. I liked the other two sauces, but neither stood out. I'm also a believer that good BBQ doesn't need sauce, and most of our platter did not - which is also good!! Unfortunately, the brisket was just okay. It also required sauce as it was pretty dry as well. So overall, I would definitely reccomend Matt's. The place had a great vibe. Emily was super friendly and responsive, and 80% of what we had to eat was absolutely delicious!

Stopped into Matt's for their Sunday Breakfast and they did not disappoint. Not even surprised that the food was amazing. Had the Briskets and Gravy and it was by far the best I have ever had. Definitely headed back next week so I can try more of the amazing menu items.

They also feature an extensive craft beer selection. I went with the seasonal Abita Bad Mother Shucker Stout, which was a fun nod to Mardi Gras and a solid stout choice for the occasion. For my entrée, I ordered the Mardi Gras Platter ($32.99). It included: * Choice of soup (I chose the seafood chowder) * Shrimp Creole * Jambalaya * Chicken Étouffée * Crawfish & Shrimp Monica * Broccoli The restaurant was busy, which is understandable for Fat Tuesday, but our food took quite a while to arrive. The soup was delivered at the same time as the platter. In my opinion, the soup should have come out first. Ironically, the seafood chowder ended up being the highlight of the meal--rich, flavorful, and well-balanced. Unfortunately, by the time I finished the soup and moved on to the platter, most of it was only room temperature. The items were layered and grouped together in a way that made it unclear what paired with what. The chicken was noticeably overcooked and lacked depth of flavor. It tasted as though Cajun seasoning had simply been sprinkled on top rather than developed into the dish. Overall, the platter lacked the bold, authentic Cajun flavor profile I was expecting. The Crawfish & Shrimp Monica was advertised as coming in a bowl but was served in what amounted to a cup-sized portion. The menu description listed Cajun Alfredo sauce, crawfish, crab, blackened shrimp, pasta, Parmesan cheese, and broccoli. After mixing in the Parmesan, I searched for the seafood components and found none--no visible crab, crawfish, or blackened shrimp in the pasta. I mentioned this to the bartender, who said they would bring some out to add in. A few minutes later, three Cajun shrimp were delivered. There was still no crab or crawfish. While the Alfredo sauce and pasta themselves were very good, the absence of the advertised proteins significantly hurt the dish. Had I ordered the Crawfish & Shrimp Monica on its own for $24.99 and received the same portion and lack of seafood, I would have been extremely disappointed. Overall, while the concept and menu sounded promising for Mardi Gras, the execution--especially at that price point--left a lot to be desired.

Bottom Line: Very decent value for the buck…read more Haven't been here in some time. This place has gone through a number of makeovers over the years but it is decidedly a sports bar vibe where you enter the space and traditional restaurant in the back area. Overall a very casual and lively vibe. We waited about 15 minutes with a packed house and were seated in the restaurant portion in a very spacious booth. Our server was prompt, courteous, pleasant, and efficient--attentive but not overly so. The food was excellent with very ample portions at reasonable pricing with many options under $20. I will say they could skip the bread basket before your meal comes out and just put it into giving you a side with the sandwiches versus charging you $2 for each side added. That being said the food came out promptly, was warm, and very satisfying. Hopefully Chuck's keeps value for customers' hard earned buck in mind and they will continue to do well.

I've had a love/hate relationship with BBQ for some time now, Learning that I really don't like…read morethe taste of smoke when it's overwhelming. Also food that's TOO fatty gives me what I call the "Queasies". Thirdsome, I REALLY get a case of the red-ass when I have to dish out money for a feed I absolutely did not enjoy. We used to go to Uncle Bub's here often, but there wasn't enough to make us keep patronizing. Something put us off it, I can't recall what. Wife had heard/seen something that caught her eye and wanted to give it another shake, and I am usually amenable to that decision. We both swung with Combo plates-Ribs/Pulled Pork/Rib Tips/Brisket and Quarter Chix (Dark for me /White for Wife). I also had the Chili for starters. The Chili was pretty good-not spicy, and not bold in flavor, but a hearty bowl. Next time I'll ask for some crushed red to add. Moving on, My notes say the Ribs were hard and dry, not strong in taste, and not too fatty-that may have been the problem. The Pulled Pork was OK, but a bit adipose in consistency. The Tips were too fatty (as rib tips are supposed to be--what did I expect?) and I left them on the place after one small bite (To say I at least tried them) Brisket was ok, but I'm not a fan of brisket in general. I was beginning to think "Why in hell did I order a plate with stuff I know I don't enjoy in the first place?"--idiocy abounds! Now, the Chicken was another story-Moist and tasty, especially with the good selection of sauces on the table. Wife was full and did not finish most of her chix breast, and it wound up on my tray. I don't normally like chicken breast (I say it's food for people who don't like to eat), but surprisingly it was moist and yum. Really Yum with the house BBQ sauce applied. The star of the show, folks. The corn bread fell apart, and was pretty useless. The Greenie Beanies were edible, but not fabulous. Wife did not like ColeSlaw, but I did. The throw on the soft drinks was very good. If we come back it will be for the Chicken. I'll try the ribs again, 'cos like I said they were neither oversmoked or fatty. Epilogue: Wife ordered 2 smoked Turkey Breasts for Thanksgiving. They weren't bad, but they weren't anything special. Especially at $118 apiece! Slicing them the next day for sandwiches, the taste wasn't much better than the version I get at Mariano's for much less money. AAArrrrrgh! Caveat Emptor!
