The menu had a lot of options to choose from which I appreciated. Our group opted for the following apps: rolls, calamari, wings, and sliders. My personal favorites were the wings which had a sweet and tangy flavor as well as the calamari. With the calamari there were jalapeños mixed in, so it definitely was a spicy surprise . The rolls were OK, but not as warm and soft as I'd like. I didn't try the sliders, but heard they were good. For drinks, I got a mocktail. The one I ordered had blueberry and a spice mix. It was really good! The service wasn't great to me. Our waiter didn't check in about our meals once we got them to see if we liked them or refill our water. I will say everyone enjoyed their food. I had the steak salad and asked for my steak to be medium well which it was cooked to my liking. I just thought the steak could have been better seasoned and for there to be more dressing. For dessert, the waiter recommended the bread pudding and it seemed to be a popular option among their dessert offerings. Although I didn't try the bread pudding, the bride to be and her maid of honor ate it, and they both said it wasn't good and very thick. All in all, I'd say the ambiance is great, food is tasty, but service could be more attentive.

I'm not a big fan of gluten-free pasta, and I found it a bit too chewy. It also didn't absorb the cheese sauce very well, so it wasn't as creamy or flavorful as I had hoped. I also tried the draft kombucha, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. The service was quick, even during a busy weekend lunch, and a staff member was friendly. The restaurant itself has a cute, welcoming interior with plenty of seating, so finding a table wasn't an issue. Overall, I had a really enjoyable meal and thought it was well worth the price. It's a very thin pizza and not that filling, but the creamed corn empanadas I got were quite filling, and I'll get a solid two meals out of this. My salad had a distinctive mix of nectarines and fried onions which somehow worked. I'm sure their next seasonal salad is just as good, but it also bears keeping in mind that their caesar, at least according to my online research, is vegetarian.

I recently visited Matchbox for their weekend brunch, and overall, it was a solid experience. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit, which definitely added to the positive vibe. We opted for the brunch special, priced at $38 per person. One thing to note: if one person at the table chooses the brunch special, all guests must participate. It's a good deal considering the wide range of food options available. As for the food, it was good--nothing particularly memorable, but enjoyable nonetheless. We tried several items including the French toast (a bit on the hard side), cinnamon rolls (decent, but not amazing), catfish and grits, chicken Alfredo, pizza, and wings. Everything was fresh and satisfying, though nothing really stood out flavor-wise. We didn't try the mimosas, but they are not part of the brunch package for those who want to indulge. Unlike some other Matchbox locations, this one didn't have a live DJ or the signature cotton candy, which might be a slight letdown if you're expecting more of an "experience" brunch. Despite a few misses, I'd still recommend Matchbox if you're someone who enjoys a nice brunch outing. We had yet another excellent meal at Matchbox - to be honest, it had been several months since we had been here but the quality was even better than I remember it! Darrell was a very attentive server, and very efficient; he was quick to serve us water, provide menus, then drinks, and made sure to confirm our order so there wouldn't be any mistakes. The food came out quickly and our two pastas and salad (highly recommend the cilantro lime chicken) were delicious and very generous portions. The savory offerings (6) were the best and they were plentiful. The one scone was tiny and more than one should be offered. The sweets were a mixture of meh or delicious: the blueberry tart, the chocolate brownie, chocolate covered strawberry, and white chocolate covered lemon madeleine were delicious. The lemon meringue tart and the tiramisu profiterole were meh. More scones and fewer sweets would be better. The hostess was very pleasant and courteous. The waitstaff (waiter and busboy (?)) were very gracious and made sure we were comfortable. Service was well-paced to our conversational pace. The location is cozy, polished, attractive. The room is relatively quiet, even when busy, so good for conversation. Administrative issues are what has lowered my rating. The website has inaccurate pricing and there were too, too many follow-up communications to confirm the reservation, yet no effort made to inform what the correct pricing is. At least one e-mail, 1-2 texts, and one phone call. The objective of all these communications was to try to extract a credit card number in the event of a no-show, which I did not do. Is it really the case that Entyse gets stiffed so often that they have to be this aggressive about chasing down a credit card number? The female phone caller was unskilled at speaking on the phone, never introduced why she was calling, reviewed the details of the reservation and then asked for a credit card number, which I declined. I had to ask her, as she did not introduce why she was calling, if there was a problem with the reservation. I will go again when the next big occasion comes up but will expect to have to chase down correct prices. I would hope they would reduce the number of pestering phone calls.

Like yes, it could have been worse for sure, but the caesar salad was unique and not just a boxed dressing, but also covered in what felt like corporate shaved parmesean from wisconsin. The pad thai had really luscious shrimp, but when I asked about the pad thai, they said "oh we make it right" and so I asked for some thai chilis to go with it, and was presented with tabasco as my option. The room is way louder than it needs to be, and the bar and restaurant have separate entrances, but are not really seperate. I would eat here in a pinch if I needed to, but the pad thai was $44 and the salad $17 and the drinks over $25 a pop. If the food was great that would be worth it, but it's just fine.

French fries were also extra salty and didn't feel like it was made in high quality oil. We came here for the burger because last year we had it a couple of times and it was amazing, had some kind of great sauce and it tasted high quality and fresh. It was upsetting that they managed to turn their prefect hamburger into a disappointment!

You get free parking (make sure you get a ticket when you check in - otherwise it's $10 for a couple hours. The prices are 1/3 of what they are for regular menu and if you get there early enough, you can get a booth in the bar area and order whatever you want from Happy Hour (1530-1800). The price are FIIIIIREE!! Blue cheese bacon dates - amazing! I think this is the same serving the that is normally $14.50 and it's only $5 for happy hour! I can inhale these in one bit! Cheeseburger slider - only $3 - we inhaled this one! So perfectly cooked and the onions were amazing. Just a nice few bites! Black pepper garlic wings - $7 - Our server recommended these - they were so great we ordered a second batch. We got 6 to an order. They were really small, but so tasty - I believe they were chargrilled with a sweet sauce on them. Just perfect! Don't hesitate to get these! Service: (5/5) The bartender, Kenneth, was so nice and accommodating and kind. He was a really great server! I think he had the entire bar to his own but was really attentive to check on our table. I would come back just to have him again. Ambiance: (5/5) It got a bit crowded later on, but when we arrived at 1630 there was hardly anyone there. It's a nice restaurant.

The food was amazing! Loved everything that came to our table. We started the meal off with the crab and artichoke dip and their famous pretzel with dipping sauce. The dip was soooo soooo good. I could of ordered more of those and ate that all night and been satisfied. For my meal, I went with the spicy fried chicken and waffles which came with Mac and cheese and green beans. I don't like green beans and they let me sub those out for these enormous onion rings! The chicken was fried perfectly and seasoned so well, and had just enough heat! It came with four pieces, wing, drum, thigh and breast! ALOT of food. The waffles were delicious made how I like crunch on outside and fluffy on the inside. I had left overs and the waffles held up! The table also ordered papparedelle Bolognese, shaved pastrami melt and halibut. Everyone loved their meal. Also, very good cocktails! We tried the Granny Sage Sour, Toasted Pecan Old Fashion, these were off the fall cocktail specials, then had a cucumber, vodka, cantaloupe drink which was refreshing as well. The staff was accommodating, and the service overall was good. Our waitress checked in multiple times to make sure we didn't need anything. The food was solid. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and calamari. The calamari was the standout--perfectly crispy and flavorful. I was also pleasantly surprised by how spacious the restaurant is. The seating seems to go on and on, so space definitely doesn't feel like an issue. Overall, a nice spot for a casual date night with good food and attentive service.

However, the reason for the 4 star is because we got 2 slightly different menus where one had some extra items and missing some others while the other menu had extra items and missing some as well. When we tried to order some items, they were out (including the filet mignon tips that everyone loves). We went at 4:30pm on a Sunday and heard they run out in the afternoon.

I was a little hesitant at first because of some of the reviews, but I've been around long enough to know that there are some on this platform who provide reviews that are unfair and just plain nasty. So here it goes. I would describe this restaurant as a place to have amazing French food with a very engaging wait staff. Saeed himself waited on us, and he is very warm, charming, and very appreciative. I can tell by the clientele dining there, that Cafe Renaissance draws repeat customers who have come back not only for the good food but for the warm service. The room was very ornate, decorated with gold guilded pictures. Tables were adorned with fresh flowers and white linen. The cutlery was beautiful. The food too was amazing. First, the bread was to die for! It came out warm, crusty on the outside, and chewy on the inside, like french bread should be. A table next to us recommended the duck confit appetizer, and yes, it did not disappoint. The duck fell off the bone, and the depth of flavor was mouth-watering. The sauteed cherries and raisin/almond rice were the perfect accompaniment. My husband order foi gras, and yes, it was the lobe - not a terrine, not a tourchon. It was paired beautifully with poached pear and I believe some aged balsamic vinegard. For someone who loves foi gras, this took us back when more restaurants served just the sauteed lobe. My husband was not too fond of the carrots that were served with it, but he doesn't like carrots so that's that. We couldn't decide on the halibut or the scallops so Saeed offered to do the halibut with a scallop on top for us to try. What a nice idea. We both weren't into the scallop (I think maybe it was a little overdone, but it was tasty) but the halibut was the star, especially in the lemon/butte sauce. For dessert, Saeed recommended some simple berries, flambe'd tableside, with a side of ice cream. That was perfect, and again, Saeed indulged us with a small glass of port and slice of chocolate cake. Everything was amazing. So, if you want great French food and a warm and engaging staff, come to Cafe Renaissance. It's what I would call, APPROACHABLE fine dining without the pretence and snootiness. Thank you Saeed for making Christopher's birthday a special one. Can't wait to come back to try your other dishes on the menu.

The location will have to doubting yourself but once you walk in it is delightful. Attentive service, great wine menu and daily specials ensure there is something for everyone. Had the mushroom soup and French onion soup. Both very good. I've had better French onion soup but this was very good. Mains were Parmesan crusted cod and fettuccine with vegetables. Both very good. Portion size was just right. Free dessert of chocolate mouse and raspberry cake was welcome and added a nice touch to the meal. I would definitely come here again and think it's a great place to enjoy if you want upscale at a very reasonable price.
