    Cheese Pizza
    Ray C.

Very nice location, well appointed furnishings, and a friendly staff. Stopped by for a late lunch and there was plenty of seating. We were seated upstairs so it allowed us to conversate without many distractions. I had the grilled chicken with avocado sandwich and it was fantastic. We also had a cheese pizza that had a bit of a spicier sauce than expected. A member of our party had no tolerance for the spicy flavor and they remade the pizza with a mild margherita sauce that was much more to their liking. The only thing missing for me is that they have a very limited menu. I would like to see a few more food options.

Family member had a birthday celebration for brunch. I wasn't even aware of the brunch option. I loved that it was unlimited. I will admit we had a really large party and I believe that contributed to a lag in service. I did enjoy the brunch menu options. Standout was the steak with chimichurri sauce and potatoes In addition to the menu they have a taco and pancake bar. The breakfast bar was disappointing. Staff did not do a good job keeping it stocked with fresh items, we kept having to ask. Would I go back...sure! Our party size was probably overwhelming but I'm open to give them another try

The staff and overall atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. It was busy -but the seating is very well spread out-and we felt we could sit and enjoy a game of banana grams without holding on to a table. Plenty of options on the first and second floor. I'm not sure its it's because we are replants from Louisiana and Texas repotted, but the pizzas were lacking flavor and spices. I don't mean "hot" spice I mean-garlic/onions/Parmesan and oregano/ basil. This isn't the first place I try pizza since I have been here and both places lack flavor. The red tomatoes in the fried risotto and the risotto on the other hand were fantastic- I'm giving it a 5 on the risotto and tomato alone and the service, & atmosphere-actually the seafood crab soup was good as well. I would have paid more -for either more crab, shrimp or lobster chunks!

I saw this restaurant being advertised on IG and had to put it on my Yelp list. My husband actually saw the same advertisement and planned for us to brunch with friends. Yay!!! Gold star for him. This was my first time in this area which is definitely packed with so many things to do. The mall is packed like back in the day when people actually went to the mall to shop. We were able to park in the garage attached to the mall and walk over to the restaurant. The restaurant is gorgeous with great decor including a DJ. It has two stories including an outdoor patio area. Brunch is all day and you can order as much a you want. They have a small bar area set up with foods like tacos and popcorn . My only complaint was the food is COLD. I asked the waiter several times to warm my food up in which he did but, every time I ordered a new item it initially came out COLD or Luke warm. WTH. I like my food Hot. I was truly disappointed about this. Other than that we had a good time with good vibes and great atmosphere. I will love to give this restaurant another try but, I will definitely have to bring a mini microwave or warmer with me.

I really enjoyed the customer service and it was a very nice vibe inside of the restaurant. I love the catfish and grits the mumble wings could've been a little bit crispier, but they still were pretty great and the barbecue jerk chicken pizza is definitely something you should add on your list. I also enjoy the strawberry lemon drop martini and I highly recommend that you go the early part of brunch before a lot of other people go there. It's a really great deal for $49. You also get popcorn make your own waffles, ice cream and tacos and I'm leaving their food and ready to go to bed lol.

Overcooked ribs and hardly no meat and lukewarm fries

This has been my 1st time visiting this location in about 5yrs. I choose this location because my last visit was great. However this time I was not pleased at all. I will say our server Jesus was very friendly, polite, and quick. Thank you Jesus! Now the food, I was very disappointed. I ordered the ribs with fries. When it came out, I felt like I was being puked or ordered a kids meal. The ribs hardly had any meat on the bones and overcooked. The fries were lukewarm. My date ordered the bacon cheeseburger, asked for 1 slice of gouda cheese and egg fried hard. His burger came out with cheddar cheese on it, and egg Sunnyside up. Our date was great because we just over looked things and had a great conversation, but we both said we would probably not return. Disappointed at the food at this location.

    Apple Pear Salad with Salmon

I visited this Matchbox on a Tuesday for lunch with a colleague. The establishment was very clean and busy. Pretty common for lunch. The staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered the Apple and Pear Salad and added grilled salmon on the side. It was super delicious! It comes tossed in salad dressing so request it on the side if that's not your preference. Overall great experience!

    Crab + Shrimp Fettuccine

We went for a causal date night and this place did not disappoint. The menu had a variety of options, from pasta, pizza, sandwiches, and entrees. The crab and shrimp fettuccine had great flavor and was very filling. Our server was attentive and nice. Everything was delightful!

Great place to grab a bite and a drink after shopping!! This location is usually busy but we are always able to grab seats at the bar!! Yesterday we were taken care of by Ramsey. He was friendly, professional, but seemed a little distracted... he was refreshing the bar, but could do a better job checking on his guest. Overall he was a good bartender!! The drinks were surely delicious!! Our food took a while to come out, which isn't usually the case. We only ordered apps. The ambiance is always nice here, I did notice a smell when sitting on the side of the bar near the bathroom. So try not to sit on that side of smells bother you. I will return to order a blueberry coconut margarita, since they were out of the blueberry infused tequila yesterday!!

    Matchbox Scramble
    Rachel S.

Came here for the first time for for breakfast with a friend. We both ordered their Matchbox scramble, so total came out to approximately $37 (not including tip). What's hot - Menu. Good variety. There appears to be something for everyone, possibly vegans, as well. Their brunch menu is simple and straightforward. - Quality. Pretty good. The egg scramble had a good flavor and not overly seasoned. The breakfast potatoes were soft and tender on the inside, and slightly crispy on the outside. - Location. Conveniently located at a mall and close to the Pentagon City metro station. The layout inside is pretty large- 2 stories, which is probably helpful when it's very busy. - Price. Reasonable. For breakfast for 2 for a little under $40 is pretty good value for money. From what I saw on the rest of their menu, the same applies. What's not - Service. Lacking. To be fair, my friend and I were there when it wasn't busy (I.e., breakfast). It does not appear to be a large staff during the morning. However, the staff that are there were terrible at following up with simple things, like refilling water glasses. After they gave us our first round of water, no one even asked if we needed refills. Definitely lack of attention to detail. Another example, the fire alarm went off and no one came to us to tell us what safety measures to take and/or if it was nothing to worry about. Final Answer Would be willing to come back, but not a first choice.

    Bacon bacon cheeseburger
    Los H.

The crab dip was good. Take that with a grain a salt from a non seafood lover. I went basic and got the bacon bacon cheeseburger. It was ok. Burger patty was small. Maple bacon added a different spin, good though. Shared the brownie dessert and was disappointed because it wasn't warm. Most menu items seemed a bit overpriced, including the burger. Ambiance was cool. It's a modern vibe. Downstairs and upstairs options. The service was fair.

    Kita B.

Food, service and ambiance all top notch. 1st visit we had pizza and artichoke and spinach dip. The food and service was so good we decided to go back for brunch on Saturday. Best decision ever!! Lest talk about our waiter Jason/JD his charisma and energy just set the tone for an amazing brunch! We had the unlimited family style brunch for 49 dollars...you cannot beat the quality and quantity for the price!! Everything was delicious!! Pictured is a few of the items we had with the all you can eat. Everything was seasoned well, hot and came out quickly. I loved the decor (rustic) and music which created a nice chill environment. This place is good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We will definitely be back when we're in the DMV!!!

For under $70 two people can have crab cakes benedict, fried brussels, crispy French toast... I don't even remember. Like ten different things! I didn't have to eat again until 9pm. Unfortunately, service started off on the wrong foot. There was a very large party already on the patio, and I was seated behind them. I waited about 12-15 minutes before the rest of my group arrived, but no server ever came by. We decided to head inside to get re‑seated, but couldn't find a hostess anywhere. We eventually flagged down a random server in the bar area and asked if a four‑top could be cleared so we could sit there instead. Thankfully, once we moved inside, everything improved dramatically. Service from that point on was attentive and friendly. The "Peoples Hour" menu was a highlight--great pricing without feeling "cheap." Appetizers were $6-10, cocktails $6-8, wines $6, and beers $6.50. The Down & Dirty (a vodka martini variation without vermouth) was solid, and the Out of the Office...Forever rum punch was decent. For food, we tried several items: - Makers Mini Nachos with steak -- Generous toppings but the chips got soggy quickly under all the queso, sour cream, and guac, which is not necessarily a bad thing. - Taco-bout Fish -- Crispy cod with a lemon aioli; one of the better bites of the night. - Drop It Like It's Hot -- Really good chicken tenders with a spicy Comeback sauce. - Lil B sliders -- Nicely cooked and not overdone; the Comeback sauce added a nice kick. The space has an upscale sports‑bar vibe with TVs above and around the bar. Seating can feel tight when it's busy, and the noise level definitely climbs, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quieter meal. Despite the rocky start, the rest of the evening was enjoyable. Good food, great happy hour pricing, and solid service once we were settled inside. I'd return--just probably not to the patio during a big party.

Once a business accepts a customer's money, that customer is no longer a passerby. He is a paying guest. To then tell him he cannot sit and must take his food elsewhere is not a minor inconvenience. It is disrespect. It is disorder. It is a sign that the establishment has no command of hospitality, no understanding of dignity, and no instinct for how to treat people with even the smallest measure of courtesy. What exactly was the Famous Chef Thomas supposed to do, stand in the middle of the floor and eat like a man without sense? Hover awkwardly with food in hand while being made to feel unwanted? Absolutely not. The Famous Chef Thomas has rules, and one of them is permanent: never stay where you are unwanted. https://famouschefthomas.com/paris-notes/never-stay-where-you-are-unwanted.html That rule exists for a reason.
