My husband and I just moved into our first home. We wanted to make it our own by updating it from it's tiny 1950's living space, into something we could see our family growing into. We got estimates from a few different local contractors and decided on MasterWork for our home remodel. John and Jimmie were responsive to our initial requests, set up an appointment, and John came out to our house multiple times to make sure that we were comfortable with every step of the plan. We converted an existing bedroom to an open concept dining room, which required: removing a wall, installing a beam, laying floors/baseboards, installing can lights, and building a closet. We were hesitant to change anything about the biggest investment in our lives, but Masterwork made us feel confident that our plan could become a reality, and THEY were the guys for the job. We were able to do this remodel while still renting our previous place, but we were on a tight timeline to hand our keys back to our landlord. MasterWork made sure that they accomplished everything on time and on budget, and within 10 days we were able to move our stuff in. Their team - John, Pablo, Ismael, David, Clemente (sorry for those I missed). made the process easy, professional, and pain free. I've been wanting to update my master bath since I moved into my place. I finally pulled the trigger and did my research. After many quotes I decided to go with Master Work. John sent me photos of jobs that were similar to what I was asking for, his quote was also the most reasonable. His team was able to update my entire master bath, change counter tops in my other restrooms, finish my kitchen that another contractor left incomplete, installed recessed lighting, ceiling fans and a new toilet. Everything was done as promised. What I LOVED the most was THEY CLEANED UP before they went home each day. I gave 4 stars because communication prior to the job starting was almost non-existent. I got my contract the day of demolition which I thought was weird. And the communication as to when the workers would show up was either lacking or a little too late. Mind you my job landed during two holidays so to know whether or not the guys would be working was always up in the air. All in all the job was completed as promised. They are priced right, John was able to suggest things that allowed me to stay within budget, and the guys working would always get us involved in the placement or suggest aesthetic placements of tile, lights etc. I would highly recommend this company and would more than likely hire them again for future remodels Enclosed are before and after of my master bath. Loved these guys. Staff are professional and friendly always showed up on time and they ALWAYS cleaned up after themselves. John walked us through the entire process, we broke down timelines, and costs and alternates. Their tile guy Raul Aguirre is awesome, a true Craftsman. Tiles weren't just laid down to get the job done, Raul always asked if you wanted the tiles horizontal or vertical and in what pattern and because we felt he knew exactly what he was doing we gave him liberty to do what he thought was the best to compliment the project. The other onsite worker Ismael can do anything, he installed recess lighting in our bathroom, hallway and did a last minute fan replacement. Four stars were given and our only complaint was due to lack of communication. Our glass guy came in on a Saturday unscheduled and I was on my way out. I understand that coordination many People schedules , and trying to get new business can be overwhelming, however from the customer point of view I was staying on top of these things and a simple call or text is key. Overall we were super happy with the service we got. Our only regret was that we didn't do our whole kitchen including cabinets and the vanities in the bathrooms. Go to the showroom and see what they got and gradually start putting your project together. We ended up purchasing tile and an exhaust bell from a different company and these guys gladly installed it. read more

I like how this company throws out lies and prides itself on them. Im responding to their comment on my review. They said another company oversprayed paint on my floors. Funny thing is the flooring thats bulging up that Jimmies brother installed incorrectly was done nowhere near the stairs that were oversprayed, infact it was on a separate floor...? And the money I didnt pay was for items that were never put in the contract. They added it at the end after I handed over +80k. I was on time with all their scheduled payments, never faulted. I called Masterwork to get an estimate on having our master shower replaced. It was a tile shower with a pony wall and glass door. It had been leaking for quite some time and starting to do damage. We spoke to John and he agreed to come out and give us an estimate. We were working on a short time frame but John assured us that he could get the job done in a timely manner. I found Masterwork on yelp the beginning of May. Read all the reviews and decided to work with them for my bathroom and kitchen remodel. I had a separate company come in for mold remediation, new plumbing, and drywall. They came in to a clean slate. No demo and no haul away. My bathroom originally had a tub and some how a tub no longer fit. So a huge shower was installed. There is little room to get thru the shower and vanity area maybe 19 to 20 inches. When you sit on the toilet your feet are in the shower. I completely hate the design. I completely over paid them. Especially since I was asked to purchase my own vanity, sink, toilet, and floor tile and the price did not change. I even had to argue with them to change the light switches and plugs because they didn't want to spend the money. In my kitchen and family room their guys laid tile that I also purchased. They failed to level the floors and now that the baseboards are installed I now have gaps everywhere. I can say that my cabinets are beautiful, not worth the cost but still beautiful. They did not install the cabinets another company came in. I was told that 3 pieces of granite were needed and only 2 were used however they took all the extra materials with them even though I was charged for them. They never even returned my house key. I didn't know that I would be working with 3 different men. I hated it. 3 different answers and personalities. I was yelled at and disrespected in my own home. To the point that I asked John not to bring the other two back. read more
