Three years ago I would have recommend them. They remodeled my master bathroom. Three weeks ago, the poorly installed master toilet's overflow busted through my kitchen ceiling with three years worth of mold and sewage (grateful it was a low flow toilet). A licensed plumber confirmed that the wax ring was not set to the height of the tile, so it was as useless as if it had not been there at all. I would not be writing a negative review if the company would return our calls or emails to reconcile this issue. For the sake of including some positivity, the ceiling paint must have been of excellent quality if it held back the leak for so long. Update the company did contact us today 11/21. Based on a previous positive experience with Home Masters Intl we chose them to do a renovation on our guest bathroom and laundry room (across the hall). We had already purchased LVT flooring for both rooms, matching the flooring in our kitchen and master bath. My wife went in person to the HMI office to choose tile for the tub/shower area, cabinets, and countertop quartz. On this occasion she also gave them a deposit of $1,000 as requested. We received a written quote for the entire job, which we agreed to and signed. We secured funding from our credit union to cover the cost, but the $1,000 deposit was in addition to the total job total. It took a couple of weeks after that for someone to come and start demo. Long story short, it took 6 weeks to complete a job that shouldn't have taken more than 2 weeks. Very weak communication, very poor project management. It was apparent that we were being squeezed into their schedule, with no solid plan for how or when they would complete the job. Much of the time they wouldn't come and work unless we called and asked them to. When they did come they spent perhaps 2 hours working, then said they needed to break for lunch/go to the store/etc., came back a couple of hours later and worked for another 30-60 minutes before taking off for the day. At the end, we have a nice updated bathroom that looks good only because of the finishes that we selected. More than 2 weeks now after the finished product, we still have had no final accounting of the money spent vs the actual work provided. We did add patching and painting of the walls, which was done quite well, and wasn't included in the original quote, However I know we are owed for at least part of the deposit and electrical work that wasn't done (or requested, yet still quoted). Because these folks did such a nice job on our kitchen a few years ago, we had high expectations. We are very disappointed in this latest experience, and will not use their services again. read more

The Adu was well built and I am happy with the advise they gave us when picking out the floor type and the kitchen. We could not be happier with the service and results. Nader (project manager) was extremely helpful and patient with all our questions/requests, etc. To give a little background: We bought a home that was in need of some structural repair, but we have a baby coming very soon and these repairs were unexpected. They fixed, and significantly upgraded, a load-bearing wall that was terribly done before. They went over every detail so we got the design we wanted, with a great view of the living room. The electrician also identified some other issues and helped make the home safer. With a 2 year old and the little one on the way, I can't tell you how much it helps to have the peace of mind of a well-supported 2nd story and a potential electrical fire avoided. Also, a shout out to the drywall and painting teams. They were extremely courteous and considerate, especially considering we were ALL SICK WITH FEVERS that week! Yep, that was fun. Last point, regarding cost. Nader clearly made every effort to get this on budget and I appreciate that. The extra costs that were needed were very much justified and he didn't assume our approval, rather wanting to be sure we were ok with it first. I had to wait a while to post this in order to not be too rude! We hired Home Masters to replacement our kitchen countertops and backsplash. They certainly were not the least expensive but we liked how they presented how they would handle the job. Well, that was all talk...very poor communicators. The quality of the work was subpar. Cut back splash too short, had a obvious notch cut out in one area, there fix was to fill it with some sort of compound...we requested that it be replaced with a new piece. It should not have been installed in the first place...no quality control. I had to constantly point out all the VERY OBVIOUS problems. We also purchased appliances...the double oven was returned due to a issue with opening the oven door and steaming up the cabinets above...realizing this is a manufactures problem, but Home Masters try to sell me that this was normal. They damaged the wall around the double oven by splittng the wood with the screws during installation. Refused to repair and stain the damaged area. We pointed had out that the microwave was loose. They were certainly ready to get paid...even collected one check when they came to check on the installers....still waiting for the receipt for that one! I would not recommend them due to subpar workmanship, no quality control, poor communication....I even had to go to the store and interrupt a staff meeting just to get anyone to talk to me....after waiting over a week to hear from anyone! read more

UPDATE: The gas company came out and inspected the job that HMI did. As we suspected, the gas company found, in their words, a "very big leak" inside our wall. Whomever installed the gas line for our range had improperly attached the gas line and an elbow joint - they had not applied sealant - and gas had been leaking from the spot for the last few months. We have been breathing this in the whole time. What if our house had caught fire or blown up from this gas leak? I am furious at the shoddy workmanship and plan to contact the contractors licensing board, better business bureau, and anyone else that will listen. But at least they finally fixed the crack that I've been asking them to fix since December. read more

Unfortunately, we ran into some issues with the shower head leaking months after the install and there was some miscommunication regarding the warranty period. We hired Home Masters to renovate our fireplace/TV niche in our living room and expand a bedroom closet. The experience was nothing short of AMAZING from start to finish! We first had a consultation at our home to explain what we wanted and then we were invited to their beautiful show room to view a rendering of our vision. We finalized our decision and coordinated a date to begin the work. Two craftsmen (that's what I'm calling them because they truly knew what they were doing and how to get the job done right) began setting up a dust barrier and created a construction zone within our home. They began the demo right away and started framing out the job. They asked us questions at various stages of construction to confirm what we wanted and then continued working. Initially, we were informed the work would take 2-3 weeks, but they were finished in about 7-8 days! When the work was completed, they cleaned up as if they were never there. They were respectful, knowledgeable, considerate of our time, and just truly impressive! We've hired different contractors for other projects in the past and there's no comparison. These guys are unbelievable!! Absolutely amazing. Contacted them to do a full kitchen remodel. As with all contractors, they are exceptionally busy but made the time to make sure the job was done well and everything was top quality. New island, new cabinets, moving the electrical and gas etc. I think the pictures speak for themselves. They were also very helpful in communicating changes required (like moving certain likes to make sure there is enough amps to power the other ones etc). Home Masters did a great job on my complicated remodel! The job included a full kitchen & bathroom remodel and the removal of two major load bearing walls, all new flooring and interior doors, the vaulting of the ceiling and the addition of an upstairs loft in our previously 1-story home. While we were at it we also had Home Masters install a new A/C & Heater, upgrade the electrical panel and wiring, and repiped the entire house including installing a new tankless water heater. Considering the size of the project and how complicated it was, they definitely did a great job! Everything was done in a timely manner and I was very impressed with how simple they made the whole design & build process. I've heard of a lot of nightmare remodeling story's from friends and family in the past, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But to our surprise the whole process was pretty well managed with very few issues. We are extremely happy with the final result and how Will, Moe and the Home Masters team took care of us. We searched for almost three years trying to find a good contractor to do our downstairs floor. We had started off wanting a kitchen renovation, but our house was falling apart, and we decided we wanted to do all of it. The other quotes we got were absurd, and just when we thought we should just give up and go back to the basic kitchen design, a friend told us about Home Masters. We asked for multiple referrals and they all gave rave reviews. They stuck with the numbers they gave us during their initial quote (except for the areas we added on), and it was lower than any other quote we had received. We were weary at first because it felt like it was too good to be true, but Mamoon gave us a new vision for the space that we hadn't even thought of...and we loved it. First of all, my apology for this long review. Ten years ago, we planned to have a major remodeling of our house which was built in 2002. Since we are a couple who pay attention to every detail, a perfectly matched contractor was hard to find. We consulted a couple of remodeling contractors, and they gave us estimates that fit our budget but these did not materialize because of lack of trust on our part, I guess. Last summer, I searched again the internet, to look for reputable contractors. Lo and behold, we found Home Masters Intl. At first, they did not impress me on their Yelp reviews as their score is only 4.1-star at the time I was reading their reviews. Believe it or not, I read all their 100+ reviews on Yelp/Google (I am a young retired State worker so I have all the time). In reading those reviews, I found the good, the bad and the ugly of this company. But what struck me are two names: Sam - the design consultant - and Nader - one of their Project Managers. Finally, one summer day, we dropped by at Home Masters' office at Ontario to see their showroom - they have a relatively decent-size showroom. We were able to talk to Sam in detail about our planned remodeling. Sam was very helpful in guiding us choosing the right materials, design we wanted and steps-by-steps process of remodeling. Then and there, after few hours we decided to hire them as our remodeling contractor. But after putting D/P, we still have concerns about the negative reviews that I read on Yelp. So me and my wife decided to talk to Nader about these negative reviews and we were ready to cancel the contract if the issue of concerns will not be resolved. Talking to Nader, he gave us an absolute assurance that we will be happy after the completion of remodeling. During the duration of the project, Nader was very open and accommodating for any changes that we requested, if reasonable. He was very reachable for questions or concerns we had. Now that the project is complete, we could not ask for more because we are extremely happy with the result of their works. Nader sent the best workers in the industry: Gary and Mike for bathroom and floor tiles, Mikey and Juan/John for plumbing works, Oswaldo for drywall works, Juan/Ismael for glass works, Daniel for cabinet/baseboard works, Alfredo for countertop works. More than any other company I looked at they seemed to have the most positive reviews from so many happy customers. I am more than satisfied with my choice to make that call.My husband and I completed our whole home remodel with Homemasters about 1 1/2 years ago. We remodeled everything in our 3400 square foot home. They completely redid 4 bathrooms, a large kitchen and laundry room, including new appliances. We changed out all of our lighting and flooring and they painted the entire interior of the house. They also took out a sliding glass door and replaced it with a new exterior wall with a window. This project was very extensive to say the least. Even with our changes they completed the whole project in just under 6 months, a few weeks longer than projected but we did make a few changes along the way that extended the timeline. Every worker that came to our home was respectful, competent and they always took care to leave areas as clean as possible when they left for the day. Mamoon started us off with a 3D presentation of how everything would look. He presented us with a cost proposal and there were no surprises along the way (other than changes we made). Changing everything in your house is a huge undertaking especially since my husband and I are nowhere near interior designers. Between Mamoon and Nader, our amazing project manager, and even the workers that were onsite every day, we had so much guidance on what to do and what not to do design wise. I am a very positive person and I always give high ratings. So when I give bad ratings, I can guarantee you that it is really bad. I enjoyed working with Sam and Will when we purchased the countertop and tile backsplash. Sam and Will gave us good schedules for when the workers would come out and were up front with any delay. We were prepared for delays just because we know how projects could have unexpected problems. We are very happy with the work Jose did installing the ply boards and countertop. We are also very happy with the work of Gabriel and Jose with the tile backsplash and plumbing. My husband and I both agree we should have done this project years ago. My wife and I are very happy with the completed work that Home Masters has done for us. On our first visit, our consultation with Sara was great as she and my wife bonded well. Sara put my wife at ease with the project and helped my wife make decisions for her new kitchen. Sara should be consider a valuable asset to Home Masters. Amir was the onsight project manager. He was professional and listen to all my comments and made all the corrections needed. The quoted pricing for the remodel was fair and was inline with other companies. The tile guys did a fantastic job on our home. The cabinet guys did a good job but there were some very minor issues that I had corrected. There was another guy that was like a journeyman that worked on plumbing, drywall, gas lines, and various jobs that also did a fantastic work on our home. The paint guys were also good. We had a minor over spray on our screen door but they corrected with no problem. The only negative was that some of the workers didn't clean up after themselves or the messes that they made. I'm updating my review to four stars because the company has responded to my concerns. I have been told that the owner was out of the country when I requested a change to the language in the contract. As soon as he returned Jack called me, and then Will called. They both told me that the attorneys were drafting language that would be fair to both sides should there be litigation or arbitration (which no one wants). Not long after that I received a new proposal with those changes in it. I really appreciate that. Now the plan is for Will to do a walk-thru' and we'll talk again about a deal. Apparently the cabinets came from different batches. That's why some were changing colors. He was very nice an said he would either paint them or or order new doors. Set up appointment for estimate to redo my kitchen for 6/17, Monday between 10:30-11:30. Monday morning comes, Sam calls me at 10:30 to let me know that he had just left his previous property for a quote and that he should be arriving closer to 11:30. He shows up 11:45. He doesn't measure anything, just video records for few minutes and leaves. He said that he will have the quote that night. I did not receive the quote and the following day, I texted him to ask about the quote and I hear nothing back from him or the company until the 19th at 6pm to let me know that he hasn't been in the office and that he will have it the following day. Just completed our extensive remodel of kitchen, bathrooms and first floor flooring. Nader was our project manager and kept us well informed on timetables and schedules. Given our work included 3 major holidays, our project only ran over the time estimate by a week or so. Quality of work overall was good, but quality of paint was area of concern. While we went with recommended paint supplier, paint doesn't really seem to be of a long lasting quality but we're hopeful it'll last for a few years before being redone. As issues came up, Nader was quick to respond and make necessary adjustments and corrections. When design issues came up, the team was able to provide reasonable alternatives without significant cost impacts. read more
