First of all it cost $120 just do diagnose the issue. My upstream and downstream o2 sensors were malfunctioning as well as a brake-light socket being blown. Ok, no problem. I don't want them to do the sensors because they were charging like $900 (not totally unreasonable among mechanics) but then they tell me it'll be $100 to fix the light so I tell them ok fix the light. 10 minutes later I get a call "we can't actually fix your light we have to order a harness and it'll make the cost go up to $300." How do you not know you didn't have the part beforehand? A typical shady bait-and-switch to try to get me to waste money. Luckily I told them to screw-off and fixed the light for less than $10 with some wire strippers and wire-nuts. I'm never going to this business again and recommend to all friends/family to do likewise. read more

I thought I had a wiring problem with my car and was told over the phone it would be $100 to diagnose plus parts. When picked up my car I was told it took an hour to figure out it was just a bad fuse and lightbulb plus a half hour to put car back together. I was charged over $200 with tax. I can't tell you what I feel more of. Rage, embarrassment or just plan stupid. I would have liked to complain and dispute the outrageous $ amount but I'm the most calm mellow person you could ever meet but when I get angry it's not pretty and probably wouldn't have done any good. Awesome shop! My alternator belt broke, draining my battery, causing my van to break down on the freeway. I also had been having issues with my radiator leaking causing my heater to have issues. I called Master Tech for help, at 7:53am They sent a tow truck, which arrived in about 15 minutes. I was in the shop within 1/2 hour, or so, of calling them. They inspected my van and told me my alternator belt had indeed worn out and broken, and I had a bad leak at the bottom of my radiator, (which I had already diagnosed both issues myself). They said they could get me a new radiator and belt both delivered that day and installed by 5pm when they closed. I had an appointment to go to at 3pm which could not be cancelled, so they called Enterprise Car Rental for me, they came and picked me up, rented me a new mini van at the shop's discount rate, so I could be sure to make my appointment on time. That was at 9:30 ish. They called me at 1:39 to let me know my van was ready. I completed my errands, went to my appointment, and dropped off the rental van on the way back to get my van. Great warranty on both parts and labor. Awesome customer service. Reasonably priced. You won't be sorry! read more

I have been to many different mechanic shops in Vancouver and this is bar far the best I have experienced to date. The customer service is awesome. James the front clerk explained all issues accordingly and also went out and got his elbow dirty when the shop appeared to be short staffed. The only knock I would say is that my bill was a little higher than I anticipated, however when it comes to vehicle repair I understand that for better service and gaurantees one must pay more. First accident - their guy Kevin is straight forward and kind. We came in to drop the car off and I was about to call a cab because I needed to get to work, and they let my boyfriend use their shuttle/ office vehicle to get me to work. I was thrilled! Later, they set up a rental car and Enterprise came to pick us up and everything was smooth sailing after that. I was really impressed at their customer service & knowledge. They were fast to figure out what was wrong with my car and allowed me to ask all the dumb questions without making me feel like an idiot. Being 600 miles from home, building a custom deck for my kid brother. My 04 Chevy Silverado was making noises, growling howling, and whining. Also transfer case was loosing more fluid with every mile.. after some research I took it to Master Tech Automotive. They first diagnosed it with the transfer case needed a new one or rebuilt.. quoted $1500-$2900 for rebuild, both diffs serviced. Being in the situation I was I said let's do it. Next day J.G. calls from shop and said rear end is shot.. needs rebuild, and transfer case has hole in it.Says he is confident he can still make deadline we set earlier... will work with us... $3300 total shop fees and all... I agreed and gave em grn lite...Few days later, I pick up my truck, pay Total $3410.27.. a few days later I drive the 671 miles home to Helena Mt... truck ran great no noises , very smooth..When I get to my drive way, twoo feet of crusty snow waiting for me, I try to put it in four hi.. transfer case will not go into any gear , just stays in two wheel drive....up till this point I would have a given a good recommendation to Master Tech...so I make the appropriate calls...get authorization and a claim number for a local shop here, that ended up costing me another fifty bucks, for him to tell me that I am being bent ..and my truck is stuck in twoo wheel drive...Master Tech told this local mechanic, there not gonna pay anything... Master Tech is claiming that "their not responsible for this part of transfer case..??." Not sure what to do (stuck in two singing the blues)....... read more

Really wanted to like these guys. Friendly and were quick to try to conform to our budget parameters ($1,000). Had a tune up and brake work done in February of 2014. Less than 6 months later, brakes began squeaking and failing, and engine started struggling with ignition in humidity or moisture. It's February of 2015 and we'll be taking our van in for... brake work and a tune up. Sigh. Guess we'll be finding a new place to take it. read more

I would give this place a zero if I could. I don't write many reviews but I felt it necessary to come tell everyone to stay away from this place. On July 14th I made an appointment to get new brakes and an oil change, when I went in they told me my appointment didn't exist and they couldn't help me. This might be an honest mistake if it wasn't for the fact I had a membership coupon that gave me deep discounts on service, and prior to telling me that he couldn't help me he saw that I had the coupon. After seeing the membership coupon it was apparent to me that he had no intention of honoring the discounts and immediately told me with one half glance at his computer that there was no room and I had to go elsewhere. My mother was referred to this shop by the DEQ (along with others)when she failed emissions. She looked at their website and it listed DEQ repairs as a service provided. She called them and said she needed this service and they said they could provide it so an appointment was made. When the car was picked up my mother was handed a bill for $138.00 which is $12.00 less than is required by the DEQ to pass your car. When my niece who was with my mother protested they told them you asked for a diagnostic and by the way our DEQ certified mechanic hasn't been here for months!!! So they booked an appointment that they didn't even have the ability to fulfill and they are on a list handed out by the DEQ as well as having it on their website?!?! I went in the next day with my mom and talked with James the manager but it only took about 3 sentences of his trying to fast talk me me before my blood started to boil and I didn't really want to hear his voice any more. Before leaving I told him this is his one chance to do what was right but he had no intention of doing so, so i left. What a racket luring 70 year old lady's under false pretenses and taking their money. A real business manager would tell you at first mention if they no longer provided a service they still advertise. I bet it still says it on their site now. Terrible business read more

I wish I could pursue legal action. Worst experience of my life. My van broke down so I got it towed here- it was black Friday and they were the only ones close-ish and open and could see me right away. They did some work (they said it was the ignition module and the distributor needed to be fixed) on the van and a few hours later I was good to go- until 45 minutes laster when I broke down again. I again towed it back to the shop, but it was Friday afternoon and they were closed. I'm from out of town so I rented a car to get home and I came back the next week to pick it up. This time, they said it was the fuel pump so they replaced that (after spending an entire day to figure out it was the fuel pump)- now my bill is up to $907,but I'm happy to just have my van back and get on the road. I leave, and two hours later it breaks down AGAIN. I had to tow it for the third time to another mechanic who obviously fixed it properly and now the van is fine. The guys at Master Tech clearly have no idea what they are doing, guess, charge you, and hope for the best. I called to ask for some money back (turns out the problem was that the distributor needed to be replaced- which is something they attempted to 'fix' the first time, but then when it came back just randomly replaced the fuel pump instead)... I was met with hostility and defensiveness and a hard NO. I was told over and over that 'it was running when it left' and the fact that it only made it two hours down the road doesn't matter, and also that i got a 'good deal' because when it took the guy an entire day to wrongly diagnose the fuel pump I wasn't changed for that. What? Not to mention all the extra expenses I paid because of this- two rental cards, two nights in hotel, gas, food, taking time off work and driving back and forth for a job that the other mechanic fixed just fine. Do not bring your vehicle here unless you have extra money you would like to flush down the toilet. Not to mention they are offering visa gift cards if you leave a five-star review, clearly they are trying to recover from all the one star reviews they've gotten. read more

When I first went to them a dew month ago, I was initially upset. Not by their service but by the price. I got sticker shock. I was married to a mechanic for 20 years, so I got used to him doing all repairs for just the price of parts. Also I am new to Washington and was not aware of the current labor rates in the industry. With that said, They have been wonderful. They offered financing to help me pay for my repairs, which was an easy process. They got all the repairs right the first time. they also did an inspection and et me know everything my car will be needing. When I came back for an overdue tune-up and oil change, they arranged for me to have a ride to and from work and got everything right. I also found out they they can do EVERYTHING that I could ever need on the car including body work. They are now my official one stop car repair place. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Would give this place 0 stars if I could. When I first decided to take my car here I overlooked the reviews because all businesses will have a bad review here and there. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. They warranty their work and parts, but as soon as you tell them they messed up and you tell them to fix it, they get defensive and say that you are just trying to get free stuff. Took my car in April 29th for shaking in the rear, while driving at certain speeds. In the inspection it says "Reccomend replace rear tires, before any further diagnosis. Rear tires out of round, possible broken belt, not safe." So the technician told me to cost to replace the REAR TIRES and after mounting, balancing, and alignment the total would come to about $450. They said my front tires were vasically brand new and that I only needed to replace the rear tires. So I pay for the repairs and for about 3 months there was no shaking. But the shaking slowly started coming back and got progressively worse. So I took my car into a different mechanic and shockingly they gave me the same diagnostic that Master Tech did. So I take a look at my wheels and instead of replacing BOTH BACK TIRES like they should have, they replaced one rear tire and one front tire. They put the new set on the front, because I have a front wheel drive car, and put my previous tires on the back. So now I have a matching set on the front and two mismatch tires on the back. So I took it into Master Tech and told them the mistake that they made and asked that they fix their mistake for free. So I drop my car off and Ryan told me that the manager would take a look and then they would give me a call. The next day Ryan gave me a call and was completely unprofessional and rude to me on the phone. Not only did he say that my "logic doesnt make sense", he also said that I was just "trying to get free tires." Their poor excuse for taking one front tire and one back tire was that they replaced the two tires with the worse tred. Except that's not true. During the initial inspection, they took pictures of all four tires and you can clearly see that the tred on my front tires was good, and the tred on the back tires was bad. Even if their statement was true, which it isn't, they still recommended replacing THE REAR TIRES ONLY. Not "the ones with the worse tred." Now my rear tires do not match and the tred is completely different. Ryan tried to say that the tires don't have to match. Since when? Every mechanic has and always will recommend that you're 2 front tires are matching and your 2 back tires are matching. When the tred is different, it causes your car to pull to one side. After they refused to fix their mistake, I told them to put my car back the way it was and I would be into get it and that I would be contacting a lawyer. And Ryan said that he would pass my statement along to the owner. Later that night, I call them and told them that I was not going to be able to pick up my car before they close so I asked them to lock my key in my car since I had a spare, no problem they said. I get a call 15 minutes later saying that they have paperwork for me to sign and they can't release my car until I signed the papers. So I come in the next morning and I tell them I'm not signing any papers and that they legally cannot hold my car since I do not owe them any money. Ryan still refuse to give me my car and I threatened to call the police. After saying that he would call the police for me, he told one of the workers "will you just pull out her car and get her out of here." I asked when I could expect to hear from the owner, i dont know he said. Would it be weeks, months?? He said "maybe." THIS IS NOT OKAY. They told me it was unsafe to drive with these wheels in the first place but now it's okay to make me wait for a repair??? So now I will be filing a lawsuit against them and we'll see what the owner has to say. read more

Not only will be sue you for shotty work, but for lost time in his job as he is the owner of a construction company. He is getting his mechanic to write up all the things that screwed this truck up. He uses 4 wheel everyday in Montana. You better get ready. This is not a bluff. Save yourself some money and fix the truck!!!!! You rebuilt the transfer case. The 4 wheel worked until you guys put your hands in it. If it was broken you should have fixed it cuz you were in it. Now doesn't work at all. See ya in court!!! We are really upset. read more

We recently took our 15 year old used and abused car in for a check up. It was acting up and we had avoided routine maintenance for years. We had a full inspection that revealed a long list of issues. The team was very helpful in explaining what issues were priority and working up multiple estimates so we could consider our options. We decided to get the work done and they squeezed us in a day early so we would have our car back before our daughter's birthday. Our car is running great now and I'm glad to know we're safer on the road. I took off a star because they failed to get back to me as promised to answer a question. I called to follow up after they didn't contact me when they said they would. I was told that they would get back to me at a certain time with an answer since they were waiting for a vendor to get back to them. That time came and went without a call. When they did call it was to say the car was ready. My husband asked about the question once again and was told that it turned out we didn't need that particular repair so the question was moot. I'm assuming the communication failure was due to how busy they were that day. We'll definitely be using them for any future needs and recommend them to our friends. read more

I brought in my 1993 Honda Del sol for engine issues (was running on 3 cylinders) they did a full electrical check then a compression check found out one cylinder was only at 60 P.S.I. I needed a complete head replacement. The shop also replace the cam. Got the Honda back in a reasonable amount of time and it runs very quietly until you get moving. I took My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee in with a starting problem. Kevin and his team of technicians had a diagnosis to me by 11am the same day. I needed a new fuel pump and fuel filter. Normally an expensive fix anywhere you go Kevin the GM informed me they could have it done in a day and also offered the finance plan of 6 months same as cash, upon approval. This would have been definitely helpful, but I did realize I had warranty coverage which help paid for the repair. Kevin's team had my vehicle back up and running quickly and helped me put some much needed trust in an auto shop, which can be hard for many people. My Jeep now runs much better now and I can feel the difference in the repair. I will definitely be taking my Jeep back to Master Tech Automotive in the future as this team of technicians and Kevin the GM are very reliable and straight forward, no up sells or unneeded gimmicks.
