Went in for a synthetic oil change and problem with wiper blades. Was quoted high $90 for the oil change, and 170's for checking out the wipers. Got called back saying the motors needed to be replaced for the wipers, $440 total cost. Had coupon for $60 oil change, and one for $50 off repair. Was billed $800, math isn't mathing. Also they wouldn't say the problem was fixed and the oil change "maintenance required" wasn't reset, while I am sure they did the oil change, it's annoying we had to go online to find how to reset the message. Be ready to fight over prices or have quick service because they don't have any one else waiting. read more

Horrible value. They bill like lawyers, charge one hour diagnostic for each issue they look into. If you have three things for them to look at, even if it only takes 45 minutes to quote it, you will be billed for three hours at $160 per hour to diagnose each issue separately. This has been one of the worst experiences... I hope you like cigarette smoke because they smoke in the office and blow it in your face when they talk to you. I brought my car in because the brake pedal was getting hard to push sometimes. They talked me into replacing the rear drums and having the valve seal changed. then they called me up and told me that I needed the master cylinder replaced for the brakes. 1500 later, I get my car back, and nothing is fixed. and the stereo no longer works. when I ask them why my stereo doesn't work, they blame me and guilt trip me about how hard this business is. After they fixed the stereo that worked before bringing it in(fuse), then I called them about the fact that my car was draining oil every time I parked...LOTS OF OIL. They had more excuses. they fixed that one with the same grumpy excuses and guilt trips. Then I noticed that my brakes were not any better(actually worse than before), my e-brake barely works now and my rear drums were still covered in rust. I called them about this. they said "what do you want from us?? We did what we said we would. If you want to bring it back in we can see what else we can replace." I asked if that would be at my expense, and they said "of course. nothing in life is free" NEVER GOING BACK THERE read more

STAY AWAY! They held my Hummer for months without providing a quote for repairs and then blamed the obvious mismanagement of their business on its "Bad Karma" because it belonged to my dad who passed away 2 years ago... My father was a car guy, and he loved his hummer. I lost him at the end of April in 2019 unexpectedly, the apparent victim of a crime outside of a Portland shop. A gun had been fired into the driver door of the vehicle, but to be clear, my dad was not shot (his death was heart related), and he was not in the vehicle. He was on the sidewalk when the police arrived. We still don't have many answers, but after two long years in police custody, the Hummer was finally released to us. Before taking it into the shop I spent almost $1000 to have it detailed to remove the broken glass from the window, and to remove all the mold from the moisture that had gotten into the vehicle. The hummer was new-car clean when I brought it to Wrench-N-Time. I was up-front and honest with the shop about the history of the vehicle, so they understood why there was a bullet hole in the door, and that no one had died or been injured inside the car. I asked them to quote me on the following repairs: · Replacement of the windshield and one window · Repair of bullet hole in the door. · Repair broken latch on liftgate · Tune-up and fluid replacement · Fix the dash display (speedometer, gas gauge, etc.) Week One: I called for an update and was told they had not had a chance to look at it yet. They said they would call me next week with an update. Week Two: I didn't receive a call, so I called and was told that their parts supplier was backed up and they would call me the following week. Week Three: Still no call, so I called to check-in again. The parts were still backed up. They said it was COVID related and promised again to call me the following week. Week Four: Still no call from the shop so I called them. They blamed the parts supplier again, but said they had just spoken with them, and they expected a quote by Monday evening. I didn't get a call from them, and didn't check back in for 4 more weeks, hoping they would call with progress or a quote. They didn't, so I finally called yesterday to check progress. The owner of the shop answered the phone. The conversation left me in tears. ME: Hi, I am just calling to check on my hummer. OWNER: Well, the technician who was working on it quite two weeks ago. ME: ... You've had it for two months... OWNER: Well, I've been out sick for the last few weeks myself. ME: ...okay.... OWNER: To be honest, I don't think we even want to work on it with all the bad Karma it has brought to this place. ME: (in shock and disbelief) ... I'm sorry... bad karma? ....because it belonged to my dad and he's dead? OWNER: (getting defensive and almost yelling) Look I've had guys quit on me, I've been out for weeks and I don't know what happened to my business. I can't get anyone to work on it. ME: (In tears, and shock) Okay, I will come get it and take it to a shop that does want to work on it. OWNER: Okay. (then hangs up on me) When I got to the shop the Owner handed me the keys.... ME: I just want you to know how upsetting this whole thing has been. I have never felt so hurt and disrespected after -- (he interrupted me) OWNER: -- I have never felt so disrespected after what has happened to my business while I have been out. ME: That's not my fault... How is that my fault? OWNER: It's not my fault either! (probably is) ME: If you didn't want to work on the vehicle you should have told me up front. You held it for 8 weeks and I never even got one phone call from you and then today you blame it on my dead father's "Bad Karma"? OWNER: (shouting now) That is not what I said! I've been gone and I've had people quit and I have three guys who just refuse to work on it because of what happened! FIANCE: Come on... that's bullsh**. OWNER: Don't yell at me about it! Why don't you go yell at them - but you might leave here in an ambulance if you try it! ME: (in tears again) Why would you even say things like this to a customer? OWNER: (still shouting) I'm just telling you the truth, nothing I can do about it! ME: (realizing that nothing I say will get him to take accountability for the mismanagement of his business, customer service, and lack of human decency) That's fine because I can tell the truth in my reviews of this place too. This repair shop used to be honest and affordable, but it was sold in February 2022. Now... oh, the new team will fix your car alright. But will mark-up the parts 60% and charge $150 per hour labor (both quoted from Pete, the manager, after I ran the numbers and inquired). To top that off, they will replace parts without your consent ("Oh, your air filter was a little dirty, so we just replaced it.'") I call BS on the whole enterprise. $1000+ for a diagnostic test, 4 plugs and ignition coils, bottle of throttle cleaner, and.. an air filter. This little lady will never go back. read more

I paid $177 for work that costs 2-3 times that amount in other local shops that I obtained quotes from. I called 6-7 shops. They were very respectful and apologetic that they got my car finished later than planned (because of an employee who had taken ill). Bottom line, they did good work and cared about my business. How does that damn aphorism go? A wrench in time saves nine? Nine what? Nine wrenches? I don't understand. If you only need one wrench, why do nine more need to be "saved." Do these other nine wrenches not have religion or something? In any case, it was worth the wait to be treated with respect and save literally hundreds of dollars. read more

But I called, and they will take a look at my power steering leak for free, where other people I called would charge me just to look. I appreciate the free look, and will update this review if I have anything more than a look.. Well, I dropped off my car, and they called me later... they had Taken the "liberty" of fixing what was broken, when I really only came there for a free estimate. So that annoyed me. Thankfully, it was not a big problem, and they charged me 67$ to simply plug in my power-steering-line and tighten it. I suppose that could be reasonable, considering how long it took them to find the problem, but I am annoyed they did it without asking or allowing me to compare other prices. 4 stars is good though, and certainly worth a try. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had getting my vehicle fixed. My 77 year old mother needed her van serviced. This place replaced the transmission fluid and didn't seal it properly with a new gasket. Then they left air pockets in the engine line. The car was shutting of randomly as a result. In addition, all the transmission fluid leaked out of the car and it had to be towed back to this mechanic. When I called about the car not going in gear, the transmission fluid leaked all over my garage, the shutting off randomly and the loud engine noise. The owner Blair wanted to blame me for what he called a rush job and that I came in early. I brought the car in at 7:45am on Monday. I came back at 4:45pm on Monday late afternoon. He closes at 5pm. In addition, when I told him about the leak, he asked if I was exaggerating or if it was a couple of drops? I told him half the garage floor is covered in transmission fluid which I had to scrub up extensively. I gave the Blair my telephone number repeatedly. He wrote it down wrong twice. Then called an errant number that was not mine to say my vehicle was done. When I called back to ask about my mothers vehicle he said he left a message already 3 hours ago. I went there in person to show him I received no such message. When we looked at his service invoice, he had written the wrong number down again. I was furious, I told him I hope I never have to see him again. Blair replied, "I don't want to hear from you again." I told him well if you fixed it right this time you won't. He is a older disrespectful profanity laced man. I will never go to this mechanic again. If you are wise you would take my experience at this mechanics incompetence seriously. My mother could have seriously been stranded or hurt because of this type of incompetence. No apology, or guilt by this business what so ever. I will never go here again. read more

He changed my oil for my '16 subaru and then worked on my dads '17 subaru that was having problems with the front wiper washer fluid working. Quoted me one price for the wiper motor but when I got there he told me it was just a bad connector and charged me less and was just honest. I love people like that and you just get a good vibe. I have been going to Wrench N Time for a few years now. All i can say is that these guys are very helpful, professional, and really care about what they do. They treat you well and are honest and upfront about the repairs. I had a once thought i had a faulty alternator on my 1990 honda accord, due to a power drain that kept happening that would kill my car that i told them about. They looked into it and told me nope, the alternator is still good, it was a lower door light that was not going off due to the door not closing properly! So we fixed that, which was a lot cheaper then a new alternator! They could have said yep, your right its the alternator and we fixed this door thing too that we found. Since i was thinking it was something they could have jumped on it and i would not have known the difference. But they give you the honest side of things and have always been up front with me.
