This company used to be Martins Automotive which I dealt with on repairs beyond my skill level. I'll verify their work is just as good and trustworthy. What I thought was a front seal oil leak on my 2005 Silverado was a leak in the rack and pinion steering assembly and they replaced it. I'm not a review writing kind of guy, except when I appreciate old school service. Dave the owner is not just a guy that sits behind his desk while his service techs do the work. It's his integrity and name on the business he gets as dirty as his techs, he personally turns wrenches and test drives each vehicle before he lets his customers take it home. It's like home cookin, not a fast-food chain when it comes to quality work at a more than fair price. I just got my truck back after he put a tuner in it for a little more power and efficient. He had to replaced and return the 1st turner after the company sent him the wrong one and he didn't charge me another penny installing the 2nd one, which I don't know of one shop that wouldn't charge me again for work they performed. This is the best car repair shop experience I've ever had and probably will ever have. I was making my way down the 5 from Seattle, heading home to the Bay Area when a fuel line blew on my Subaru Forester XT. Well, my AAA membership had lapsed and I didn't catch the notifications, so I went ahead and renewed that. Unfortunately, their policy wouldn't be able to take advantage of my premium tow options for 48 hours. But I could pay $75 for a 5-mile tow. Turns out this was the best thing that could have happened to me. AAA's repair shop recommendation couldn't look at my car for another 3-4 days, so I started looking around for other shops within 5 miles of my location. This is how I found Service Now. I called the shop, and Dave told me that they probably wouldn't be able to check out my car that day but could in the morning. Seemed promising so I redirected my tow. When I got there, I quickly came to realize that this was the best shop I could be at. Dave and the team were incredibly nice, and after diagnosing the issue shortly after I arrived, they quickly worked on my car the next morning. They even found another issue that would have caused more trouble in the not-too-distant future. They made what should've been an incredibly stressful situation feel like an absolute blessing. On top of that, before leaving, Dave gave me his contact so I could confirm my safe arrival and told me to give him a call if anything happened. I am trying to, but I truly cannot express how appreciative I am for Dave and the team. I will never forget this experience. They make this world a better place. P.S. Can you rate a business with 10 stars? Service Now Auto Repair deserves that. When local people treat each other well, it takes the stress out of everyday life. I took my car somewhere else for an oil change. They told me there was an oil leak and quoted a price to hunt it down and that with Subarus, often the problem is the head gasket. They also told me that I needed a radiator flush and that my brakes probably needed service too. When that place added fees on top of the coupon price, I knew not to trust them. So I returned to Service Now, which has moved closer to my home. I'd been treated there so well in the past that they had established my trust. Ashley fit me in the same day because I was concerned about driving any long distances. Dave put my car on a lift and he and one of his mechanics cleaned off oil from an old leak. They said the oil level was fine and told me to bring it back in a couple of days. And they charged me $0.00. I asked whether my car needed a radiator flush. He said, no. So I brought it back today. Jeff, one of the other mechanics, put my car on a lift and found a slight leak where the plug wasn't fully turned in. It hadn't been enough to even drip on my garage floor. I asked him about the brakes. He told me the back brake pads looked almost new and that I had about 20,000 miles left on my brakes. I asked what I owed them. He said, "have a nice weekend!" They refused to charge me. This was the first time I went to their new place where they moved a couple of years ago, just after my first visit. This place is much larger, with lots of cars and trucks of all makes parked in the lot, and it's busy. The office manager, Ashley, is a pleasure to work with. If you call early in the morning it may take her 2-3 hours to get back to you -- because they are successful and busy. It's worth waiting. If you read my earlier review, I didn't mention that Dave's price was better than the local Subaru dealer. read more

Other places often will push more services that you don't need; Dave never does. When he says that you need a service, its truthful. I trust his advice! For me that's a big deal ! I drive out of my way for Dave to service my vehicles, because I know I will get the best service at the best prices, an honest l appraisal of what needs to be done, and my problem fixed. On top of all that, he really cares about people. Recently, I had a service code problem on my vehicle. I have a OBD reader at home, and I attempted the repair myself, doing the easy fix. Unfortunately for me, that didn't work. It wasn't so easy. I do not recommend service now auto repair. I had originally brought my suv in to service now auto repair to get my timing belt redone on my engine. After some shopping around service now Auto have a good price for the whole fix and had the best reviews on google. This is my first time having a mechanic work on any of my cars, and it will be my last time I ever have a mechanic touch my car. I paid $1000 dollars to Dave after he called me that my suv was done and my timing belt was replaced, I came the same day and took it home. I didn't get 15miles down the road when the engine had a horrible sound and proceeded to completely shutdown going 60mph. I instantly pulled over and rolled to the shoulder in neutral. I called a tow truck and took the suv back to mechanic, one of the bolts backed out of the timing belt assembly and ripped the motor up inside. Dave said he would take care of it, I never blamed Dave for the mistake because it could have been a faulty part but I expected Dave to hop right on it and start taking the motor apart to get it fixed up. Official diagnosis the top end of the engine blew up. 5 months went by and I saw my suv sitting in the same spot in Dave's parking lot already growing cobwebs and the ground was turning green underneath. I asked Dave why is my car not getting worked on and he just gave me an excuse... one thing I learned, Dave always has an excuse for everything. I waited just shy of 1 year for my suv to be put back together. In that time my wife who was pregnant gave birth, I bought another suv for our family because the original suv was supposed to be our family car. Throughout this process Dave would just have never ending excuses as to why it wasn't done and when I got it back finally he assured me that it runs great there are no check engine lights and it runs smooth. He proceed to make me a sign a paper stating I can't sue him in case something happens after I leave his shop. After I left the shop I turned onto the main road and not 2 min went by the check engine light turned on, the engine idles roughly down low. I brought it home and started it the next day to find out it won't start. I have to crank it about 14 times to finally get this thing to fire up and it runs horrible for like 30sec or so and then smoothens out. Dave gave me a invoice he spent $8000 dollars to rebuild this motor, if he really spent that much he did a horrible job. I've fixed engines myself that run better then this. All in all I will never give my car to a mechanic again. Thank you Dave for ruining my experience. If you do need a mechanic to work on your car I recommend you go somewhere else. read more

Oh my god this man....guys like Dave just don't exist - ah, but they DO! This dude is the Car Whisperer. Seriously. I'm fairly new to the area and don't have a regular mechanic. I'd bought a used Honda and wanted to be sure it was safe and ready to go, so I brought her to Service Now based on the Yelp reviews. Dave was everything you all said he was - honest, knowledgeable and just all-around awesome. He and his team got her running like a champ. They alerted me to some safety issues with the tires, so I took her down the street to a "big box store" that shall remain nameless, and put new ones on that same day. The guys who put on the tires screwed something up, and after driving around in a car that sounded more like a lawn mower, I brought it over to Dave. I don't know if it was the couple of bangs he gave her or his mere presence, but the noises stopped. Like a general inspecting his troops, she immediately shaped up. So now I have a regular mechanic. If I could just find the Dave-equivalent plumber, electrician and roofer, I'd be set for life! read more

My partners 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee had a leaking heater core we were looking to replace. If you know where your cars heater core is (HVAC Box), you know it's quite the job! The entire dash had to be removed to access it and I didn't want to take the time to do all that. After reading a ton of reviews and calling a number of shops in Vancouver we decided to take it to Service Now after talking to the staff a few times. They were very knowledgeable, competent, and friendly. It was difficult to get someone on the phone, we ended up playing a lot of phone tag, but I'm glad I stuck with them. We got the Jeep back in great running order, they actually found additional electrolysis had been occurring in another location due incorrect fluids used by a previous repair facility in Bellingham, WA! They showed me the pipe, very clear electrolysis transfer at the intake, and I feel 100% confident they did the correct amount of repair. No or under repairs from these guys, they know their stuff and are spot on, SOLID mechanics. If your ride take a dive, give these guys a call (or rather, leave a message on the machine). He'll call you back and you'll be glad you waited! read more

I have brought my car into Dave multiple times and he always takes great care of my Pontiac G6. Definitely feels like a family owned shop. But watch out for that front counter because they always have treats. Anyways I have come in for multiple issues and Dave always gives me a fair price and a quick turn around time. Today in particular was pretty miraculous. My Charge System indicator came on late last night. I did the good old google and found out I need to get into the mechanic ASAP. So I called Service Now in the morning and they had me in to the shop by 10 AM. On the way the alternator belt went out and I almost didn't make it. As soon as I got there Dave's team was on it. I got my car back around 1 PM good as new. Battery checked, and alternator belt replaced.All for a fair price. And when I say fair price I mean it, I am cheap in general and very hard working. A very honest auto mechanic who would go the extra mile for you without charging you anything extra. Dave's place looks like a used car lot so it's not what appears on the outside that counts. One problem with Service Now is that they tend not to answer the calls so you have to basically hunt them down and get them to service your car. If you can do that, you will find out how amazing they are in what they do, and how Dave just love people and would stay overtime and everything just to get things done. For 15 years, Dave has repaired our cars. He's honest, very thorough, prompt, and personable. Our most recent experience was repairing our recovered stolen car that insurance had totaled. (dang thieves stripped the usual big stuff) We kept the car because Dave's repair estimate was 1/3 less than our car insurance estimate. Dave's final bill was LESS than his original estimate. He does not gouge. The engine now runs smoother than before and no more leaking oil. He completed several major repairs and turned it around the same day. Toyota Vancouver said I needed a water pump and oil cooler line replacement quoting me about $1750 before tax. Hmm, come in for $1100 glass roof panel replacement and then $urpri$e$. I got on the phone and started dialing for fewer dollars. Gaynor's quoted a lot more than Toyota for the water pump replacement and others were in the Toyota price neighborhood. I thought I'd try yelp and up pops Service Now. I called them and was greeted with friendliness and efficiency and they said they could work on it the next day for about $500 less. I committed happily. The only drawback was that their parking lot was overflowing and I "created" a parking spot. Otherwise, work done as advertised and priced. Oh, icing on the cake, their garage mascot is Esther, the chicken. I was introduced to her and given a recently laid warm egg. It was delicious for breakfast this morning. Dave and Ashley were terrific. I hope I don't have any more repairs on my Toyota, but if I do, I know where I'll take it. read more
