I don't know WHY? Matt's IS NOT? at the top of the "recommended" list for alignment, suspension & brake repair. They warranteed my new struts for 2 years, parts and labor. One of my struts started making noise a few months after installation. They replaced the strut and re-aligned the car the same afternoon that I called in the issue. The strut was slightly defective (though, not a safety or alignment hazard) and they took care of it in a jiffy. I HIGHLY recommend Matt's Alignment & Brake. read more

I have been so happy with the service we have received!! My daughter went to Jiffy Lube and they said she had metal on metal on her brakes!! And so many other things that were supposedly wrong. This place is over priced, unfair, unreasonable and charge for things that blindside you. They claim to do such things to your car only to provide little answer with a big cost. They are 100% bias towards women so be aware of that PLEASE!! The owner is not going to compromise & will make you feel very small when asking why you are being charged 100$ when NO services were implimented as well as smart commentary about how its not his problem. DONT GO! Said it took him 45 minutes to tell me i had bad strutte. Like i didnt already know, claims hes the best but it took him 45 min to figure that out? Screw this place, we were told to bring my mother in laws vehicle down they could do an alignment on it, we walk in he then says it will be an hour or 2 wait so we asked if we could wait in their air conditioned waiting area that was empty they said no waiting on premises and we needed to leave. Mind you she has Fibromyalgia and is here from Central Oregon on vacation, but she said it's fine it needs to get done let's just get lunch, we did, we left for 2 hours came back and we're told it will be another 45-60 minutes! We again ask if we can wait for it to be wrapped up inside as it's hot and she is disabled. We were again told absolutely not but we could go sit on the grass under the tree across the parking lot. Karen was in tears and he had no empathy or customer service skills or any apology at that point for the situation. They say they are handicap friendly but there's a car parked in their handicap spot that's not a van nor does it have a plate for handicap. It wasn't till my mother in law got up and went back in to ask for a chair that he brought one out for her. This is the most unprofessional I have ever seen from an auto shop or pretty much any place with a store front. He then tells us he's doing us a favor by getting to the car right now so we should be happy about that. I am not one to bitch especially when it comes to small business but this was out of line and borderline discriminatory toward someone elderly and disabled. They've earned my business and the trust to recommend them to my friends and family, all of whom now feel the same. I normally do most of my own work but no longer have a garage. So, while I'm not a pro mechanic, I at least have a pretty good BS meter. Rick has never even blipped the needle. One should always do their homework and the fact that you're reading this is a good sign. I try to know the cost of parts and typical labor length for work I can't do myself. Then I go to Matt's and find the prices reasonable, the communication clear, and expectations set appropriately. We took our 1999 Jeep here based on the recommendation from my Dad. My Dad does NOT mess around and does NOT apprciate pain the (you know what) car guys. Matt's Alignment certainly is not a pain in the anything!! We had quite the job for them - a heater core which required them to basically remove the WHOLE dash board to fix, and they got it done in 2 days. The price they quoted us was what we actually paid and while it was on the higher end, it was a higher end of the price range fix!! Steve broke up the cost so we knew how much was labor, parts, etc. even telling us the cost for the anti-freeze. As a teacher {and it being summer time} it was my responsibility to deal with the car situation and it was actually pleasent. We will continue to drive the 45 miles round trip from Washougal to Salmon Creek to use them in the future, if we have too!! read more

Really great service! I think they are great mechanics. If they are anything less, the guy who works the front desk leaves you feeling like you just got serviced by the greatest, mechanic in the world. That is very important. Car problems are very unpleasant. These guys will dull the pain by leaving you feeling well taken care of. Actually, they really stood out on an issue. A different mechanic questioned their work when fixing an unrelated problem. I took my car back in and they spent quite a bit of time double checking their work and successfully showing me their work was perfect and I believe it was. Allot of companies respond by getting kind of grumpy and beligerant in this type of situation. These guys really shined! read more

If your looking for a Honest and Trust worthy auto mechanic look no further. This place stands by there word and are Up front and completely honest .. I brought my Nissan Rouge in to have it repaired for A right front seal leak that has something to do with the transmission .. Steve the manager said let's look at it first to make sure that's what it is ... yep that was the problem . Long story short they repaired it in a timely manner and they guarantee all work at 100%. I took her 1993 Nissan Sentra in here after the Guys at Gaynors fussed over it. They kept saying the oil slinger on the engine is bad what the heck is and oil slinger? On a 1993 Nissan Sentra? I was told by the Orange hair desk jockey that the fuel injectors were bad and they replaced one of them.$$$ thrown down the toilet. it still didn't run correctly. i took the car into my home garage and replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor, fuel filter, air filter, PCV valve and then not only those things it had 30 W oil in the crankcase when it took 10/40 Castrol GTX and it ran just fine except for the fact the constant velocity joints were going out but forget that they wanted me to hand them a cool wad of Money to replace the bakes on the thing. Use them again? Not on a bet. The gentlemen at Matt's help take care of 3 of my vehicles. I experience great customer service and feel that my vehicle service needs are truly well understood. They really hustle to put my work van in top shape so I can get back on the road and back at work. On this last repair cycle on the van they stood behind brake pads from the service 15 months ago and not just pads but the whole shebang. I called to get a quote for my car last Friday, a man answered who was professional and helpful, the quote was on average if not less then other shops I've called. However the man was busy with another customer when i called and I was placed on hold. No biggie in most circumstances, expect instead of generic "elevator music I was treated with some conservative talk radio from Lars Larson. I stayed on hold, but considered hanging up right then and there because, regardless of his politics I find Larson to be the most annoying man on radio. It seems like a bad business decision to subjugate your possible customers to talk radio of any stripe. I don't know if this was a fluke or intentional but if you don't want to run the risk of listening to conservative talk I'd call a different company for a quote. Personally I haven't decided where I'm taking my car for service, but this is something that I'll be considering in future. read more

These guys do a wonderful job and are very reasonably priced! I usually buy vehicles new and don't keep them long so I don't have a lot of automobile maintenance. My girlfriend asked me to bring her vehicle in because she doesn't do well with mechanics. Her maintenance routine seems to be ignore it and it will go away. I'm not in her car often, I noticed she had a couple driving lights and a headlight out. I already knew her air conditioning was not working and the routers on her brakes were obviously bad for a couple years she did nothing, the key fab wasn't working and I thought she might have electrical problems. She really didn't want to fix it, I was afraid it may be unsafe, so I told her we need to get it in, that if she were trying to sell it with all these problems she wouldn't get much for it. We took it in they changed 5 light bulbs, turned the routers, fixed the air conditioning leak and refilled with Freon, replaced the battery in the key fab, rotated the tires aligned the front end change the oil all for under $500. They couldn't have been better to work with they were incredibly fair on the rates they charged and were great about letting us now all our options. Her car was in and out of there within a day. We are both very happy with the job they did and the price! We will definitely be using them in the future! read more

There should be a tab for just "poor", because fair didn't come into play at Matt's. Went there for a simple alignment since I just got new tires. Truck drove real straight before and had no play in the steering so I knew it would be an easy deal. Not so. They told me I needed an inner tie rod and the wheel bearings were so loose that they couldn't align it. Well I told them thanks and took it home to do the work myself. I'm just glad I wasn't like so many folks that just have them do it, because it didn't need any of the work they insisted it did. Took it over to Firestone the next day and had them look it over and align it, and they agreed that the tie rods and wheel bearings were just fine and did an alignment. I had a vehicle serviced here when it would not start. Parts were replaced, and it started, yet something was not right. It was brought to the attention of the staff, and another appointment was scheduled.After leaving the vehicle, and using a "loaner car" (for a $10.00 fee, really?) I was informed the issues were beyond the capabilities of the shop! After exhaustive searches on the interweb, I diagnosed the issue (repeat, I DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE), incorrect parts had been installed! FINALLY, we are getting someplace. The CORRECT part for my vehicle was ordered and replaced at no charge, solving most of the issues. When it was brought to their attention that other parts may be incorrect also, I was told it would cost MORE money for the right parts, but they'd install for free! Again, REALLY? I paid for a job to be done, and to no fault of my own, the WRONG parts were installed, and now I need to pay more to correct the issue! NOT HAPPENING! CAREFUL! read more

Thought I would check recent reviews before taking one of my vehicles in for work again. I have always taken my vehicles as well as the kids to Matt's. Steve is a good service writer and really is swamped. Lately though no matter what I bring my car in for it runs around 700.00. My last time in I joked I imagine I won't go out of the door for under 700.00. Later in the day received a call and Again repairs fell in at around the magic number. My vehicle was stalling when putting into gear. Ran great in park. They had the vehicle a few days and the final "fix" was the mechanic unplugging a component so the computer would not detect what gear it was in. It now would not stall and I was ok with it as it was just a work vehicle but a bit expensive to unplug a part. This trick was not discovered until I came to pick it up when they told me they couldn't find the problem. Now a mechanic hooks up a monitor when I'm ready to leave. I asked why this wasn't monitored first? A once great place to go is now just about average. A pattern of not getting vehicles on the day they said it would be done started also. Would I go back? Probably would give it one more try but I think it's from loyalty and not common sense. Again though, Steve is a good guy to work through. read more
