I'm a good customer of Top Performance for 6 years. But now, I'm very disappointed of their service on 3 days ago. For last year, Top Performance offered service of tire rotation with free. This year, they do not offer this free service, but they did not let me know. 3 days ago, I came to Top Performance and requested service of oil change, transmission fluid, tire rotation but Devra did not tell me that tire rotation is not free. After service, total invoice is $385 and she charged me tire rotation fee of $25. read more

EDIT! : THEY BANNED ME for any future business, because of this review! :: They performed an alignment on my Chevy Volt. The staff are very personable and friendly and seemingly competent. However, the upsell.. My brake fluid is brown and should be changed? That is not how you test the brake fluid, the proper procedure is to use a test strip. The fluid is less than 2 years old. You recommend every 2 years but GM in the owner's manuals says every 150K miles. 1 is way too frequent, the other too infrequent. 5 years is a safe bet since there is a lot of rain here. Don't upsell without proper reason. and 2 grand to change my 4 struts is stealership pay. I'll go to Froh's. read more

Well after overpaying this shop for charging $165.00 shop rate and using inferior overpriced aftermarket parts, it's time to move on. We had a Fuel pump replaced 3 years ago to the tune of $950.00. After 2 months the sending unit failed and was replaced N/C. the car reeked of gas and the interior was not even vacuumed. This week the fuel pump failed again and of course it was out of warranty with only 5000 miles driven since replacement. After voicing our extreme dissatisfaction with the entire affair, the price was discounted to a cool $1200.00. Wow such a deal! But wait there's more. After getting the fuel pump straightened out, we're informed that an ignition coil is not working properly. Strange because the car was running fine when the fuel pump crapped out. The "suggestion" was to replace all 5 coils & spark plugs for a mere $700.00. WTF more sales of cheap parts? We bit the bullet since the car was already in for 1 replacement coil which brought the total repair back up to $1600.00. The shop charged us $145.00 to install the fuel filter which takes a good mechanic all of 10 minutes. In October of 23 we had the Brake Booster replaced. This took 3 days since the first two boosters that were purchased were faulty. This was a real bargain at $1200.00! So in summation, if you have deep pockets and don't mind having cheap crap aftermarket parts that have been obscenely marked up with a shop rate of $165.00 per hour then this shop is for you. read more

They will massively over charge you for parts. The shifter cable on my elderly aunts car broke, this is for an automatic. Its the cable that runs from the shifter off the steering wheel to the transmission. Its a simple job, and a cheap cable. Literally $39.99 from AutoZone just down the street. They charged her $300 just for the cable. Im not sure how something like this could even be legal. read more

I brought my truck in to get a quote on replacing the steering rack. I explained the issue and made made an appointment to have it looked at. My truck sat for 2.5 hours while I entertained my two small children. After the truck was looked at, I recieved a text message with a link to the diagnosis, which was exactly what I told them. I went to the front desk to ask if we were all set because of the message I received. They collected 140 dollars from me and took 10 minutes to bring my truck around so I could load my children and leave. I would understand the charge if my truck was fully inspected. The check engine light wasn't even looked at. They simply confirmed what I told them to be true. I was recommended this shop by someone close to me and was shocked at this lack of care. read more

After doing general maintenance on my truck for a couple years, I brought my truck in for a tune up prior to a road trip. The communication between the techs and front desk is excellent. When they gave me my keys back it was like driving a completely different truck, in a good way! They fixed a knocking noise I hadn't mentioned, gave a detailed a thorough inspection and explanation for what needed to be done. The guys here are amazing. I've been battling to get my rim straightened for the past month and it's caused my tire pressure to constantly be really low. I have never felt that they upsell unnecessary services or overcharge me (like Gaynor's charging me for a battery replacement when mine was only 2 months old with no explanation as to why). What a bait and switch job they are trying to do. I received a quote from Les Swab just down the street for brake job prior to coming to Top Performance Automotive. It took just over an hour for them to do a bake inspection. I received a quote for $301, I then when to Top Performance Automotive and received a quote for $350 but with a better grade of brake pads. I choose to to go with the higher quality parts for $350. After the truck was on the rack I was informed now the job would be over $800.00. What the #$%^& from $350 to over $800 while the truck in on the rack. So I requested they just put it back together and I will be on my way. But wait it is not over, they want to charge for work that was done before they want to give me my key. WTF what work, a bait and switch? What a piece of crap these guys are lying cheating. I am worried they will do something to my truck if I don't agree to pay them $123.41 before they gave me my keys back What a nightmare NEVER AGAIN !!!! read more

We have had numerous services at TOP PERFORMANCE. Long before they were in their new location. We were always pleased with their work and thought the costs were reasonable. We are older, retired and my husband has dementia. So simple tasks that we could do ourselves is now out of the question. We have a simple SMART CAR. The headlight was out. It's a tiny $8 bulb. They charged us $110 to put it in. That's absurd. We called in the morning to make sure there was no mistake. The person we're talked to had no empathy and was quite impatient with us. So my car had just gone in to get about a $1000 repair and when we got the car back, the AC no longer shot out cold air... when I asked about it, they said that it had tested to blow out 78°F supposedly when it first came in, except I know and my family knows that it definitely would blow out 60°F, I hate being lied too, I'm disappointed in that fact, but they did manage to fix the main problem that the vehicle was in for. read more

My husband is my main technician for my car, however to lighten his work load I went to Top Performance for my oil change and lube for many years now. Just recently I went in for an oil change and lube. They noticed a wheel bearing problem that needed to be addressed right away. My husband ordered the parts and went to work on it the next day. While he was working on that he noticed that the lube part of the job was not done. When he talked to the man at the front desk about it a few days later with pictures to show the job wasn't done as proof he was given a flimsy excuse and pretty much dismissed. My husband has worked very hard to keep my truck in good order, he recently put all new front end parts in my truck. Not keeping those parts properly oiled causes harm. When someone takes a car in for a procedure like oil change and lube and pays for that service it should be done. I trusted them and now I don't. I will look for someone else to do the job I pay for. In good faith, I cannot recommend TP. I had them install a new clutch in my truck which, includes changing the engine oil because the rear main seal gets changed. They refill the engine with the wrong oil and oil filter; 30wt instead of 40wt. Secondly 3 miles down the road the carrier group and drive shafts fell out- not properly bolted in. As part of the collateral damage assessment, I asked then to check the u- joints- the response was " we greased them"; when I questioned that they had no further answers- Obviously they did not check them. Thirdly, they removed an exhaust hanger when they couldn't find the correct bolt to reinstall it correctly, never mind handing it to me or leaving it in the cab so I knew. The level of incompetence by the tech is not at all acceptable regardless of the apologies from the front office. read more

UPDATE: 3 stars down to 1. These guys are real unprofessional. While on the phone with these guys they did a search for if I had done a review on them. They found this review and told me they could no longer service my car and hung up. I was not trying to be rude, just honest. As follows, here's my original post. Great for an oil change, but avoid anything else. I know enough about cars to know that their repair prices and what they recommend is extremely high and unneeded. But if you go just for an oil change it's great. About $32 and they do a whole bunch of stuff and give you a print out about what they recommend at the end of it. My Lexus GS400 had an alignment done by Top Performance 8000 miles ago. There had been an occasional clunk in the front end before and after the alignment. When I check the upper control arms recently, both were worn out. The left control arm ball had 3/16" of play, and the right control arm ball joint had 1/4" of play. Clearly the tech never checked the ball joints in the upper control arms prior to doing the alignment. Ball joints don't wear that much in 8000 miles. The occasional clunk is gone with my parts replacement. I won't be taking the car to Top Performance to be aligned, after replacing the worn out parts myself. read more

I gave a friend a ride to and from the shop because customers are not allowed to wait in the lobby unless they are having an oil change. She asked the old man who was the service advisor to make sure that everyone who was in her car to wear a mask and wear it properly covering the nose and the mouth. When we returned to pick up the car the mechanic was in the car without a mask. The shop foreman took the car for a test drive and his mask was not covering his nose. The old man who was the service advisor was rude and dismissive. We respect their request for a mask in the lobby, they should give customers the same respect when they are in someone else's car. read more

I've used Top Performance twice at the recommendation of another BMW owner. Both times I've had them service my vehicle, I had to go back in and wait because something very basic was missed by the technicians (not checking fluids, service reminders not reset and showing they were still due for maintenance, etc). The customer service received was terrible - never an apology just told to bring the car back in and I'd have to wait. I finally asked to speak with a manager, and the foreman offered $30 credit for my last $215 oil change bill. However, this was only after questioning me about if my car really had a service reminder for brake fluids because "to his knowledge BMW's don't have that" - it does. Mistakes happen and I wouldn't turn away from a local business over this had the customer service not been so poor. Not only poor, it was really shockingly terrible. For that reason, I won't be back and will not recommend this business. read more

They do good work, have a Mercedes certified guy which helps, and the cost is comparable to what a dealership charges. The difference is they don't try to upset like a dealership would so I consider that a plus!
