I was broken down on the side of the Mountain. I called Phil late in the day and was so happy he answered. I explained the situation and he told me to tow it straight there. Not only did he disgnose the issue right away, but had the entire thing fixed by the next afternoon! He explained everything and have me an amazing warranty on the partS and labor! His prices are fair and his customer service is exceptíonal. read more

What a great find. I have had some bad luck with mechanics in the past. I had a new to me truck I needed to get a brake job done on, and I got a great price with Phillip. That's fantastic, but that is not what impressed me the most. After getting the truck back, I had a scary brake failure while towing. The brakes were toast. I took it back to Phillip's shop, and he discovered it was not the brake job that was gaukty, but the shoddy wiring someone did on the brake controller (previous owner). The controller wasn't even functioning properly. Phillip still warrantied the brakes for me and installed a brand new brake controller, and didn't charge me any labor. He just charged for the brake controller, which was more than fair. He didn't have to do any of that at all. I offered to pay, but he said he would rather have my business relationship than only have me come by once. He gives very detailed explanations of work performed and issues encountered. Very honest and informative. He even showed me every part he replaced and its condition so I could see the whole story. That earned him a lot of credibility with me as most mechanics don't offer their work under scrutiny voluntarily. read more

Phil can't be trusted, and I have evidence. If you drive anything high end, don't even come near his shop. I had a simple job for him to replace to heim joints on my front upper control arms. I brought him two replacements, and the noise I was experiencing went away. A few weeks later the noise came back and I reached out to Phil. He became evasive, hard to pin down, told me I needed to swap out my control arms completely. I went around in circles for weeks. Spent hundreds trying to diagnose the issue. "We had just replaced the heim joints, it must be something else right?" - I thought. Finally I ordered two new heim joints and took them to a shop I trust up north. When we pulled off the heim joints, I noticed that Phil had only replaced one of them, and not both as he was contracted to do, and told me he had done. It was easy to visually identify the original heim joint, as the hardware has a "metallic" treatment and the new design (which I brought to him) is all black. See the pictures. When I confronted Phil about this, he just blocked me. He can't be trusted, period. The guy is not a real mechanic in a legit shop, and I should never have taken my car to him in the first place. Lesson learned. read more

I have taken two of my vehicles to Phil for oil changes and one of them I did struts/shocks, rotor and pads. The parts he used is OEM quality. Overall experience is 5 star for me. He charge very fairly compare to other mechanics and will not up sell you for anything else that you don't need. It's really difficult to find an honest and fairly priced mechanic like Phil these days. read more

As a single woman who has very little knowledge of the workings of vehicles, Ive always been hesitant going into shops and leaving scammed. That was not the case at Phil Kassab's Auto. From start to finish, Phil was patient with me and walked me through the services my car needed, he provided me quotes, approx time each service would take and answered all my questions. I left feeling confident my car was in good hands. He kept me updated throughout the process. Phil Kassab's Auto was a great experience for me. Phil is very helpful, honest and pleasant to work with. He took his time to explain everything and kept to his word. Phil Kassab's Auto will be the only shop I use going forward and I recommend it to anyone! read more

Posting this review here on Yelp - I posted it on Google reviews too, but I want to get the word out about Phill. He was a straight shooter and helped me when I was in a rough spot with my Subaru. I contacted Phill Kassab about a month ago to diagnose my Subaru Forester's mysterious problem with its electrical system and battery draining. While trying to identify what was causing my battery to consistently die after several days of sitting parked, I tried all the typical things. Firstly, I replaced the battery at shop in Portland after realizing its age and visible corrosion on its terminals. The car still died after two days of inactivity. Next, I brought the car to a local Subaru dealership. The mechanics at the dealership tested the battery and alternator and reported no issues. They assured me the car was in prime shape and had no identifiable electrical issues. However, the car died after two or three days of inactivity. The issue wasn't solved. Finally, I brought the car to Phil. After some investigation and testing, Phil identified that the new battery I'd recently installed was bad. He also searched for any parasitic electrical drain in the car and couldn't identify one, so we agreed that we'd replace the battery again and monitor the issue. Phil installed a new battery enclosure (as the one housing the battery was rusty and corroded) for free as a courtesy, which I appreciated. After a few days, the car still died - which, at this point, was an issue that multiple mechanics at three different garages (including the dealership) couldn't figure out. I brought the car back to Phil and he kept the vehicle for a few days, performing an even deeper investigation into the electrical system. He checked if an electrical draw was coming from the door locks, the radio, the window buttons, or any lights in the car. He again tested the battery and alternator. Nothing was identifiably wrong. This is where Phil proved his integrity and honesty as a mechanic and a businessman. Instead of charging me a penny for his labor hours, he installed a NEW battery again, absolutely free of charge, and asked me to report ANY future issue with the car - insisting that we'd continue to monitor and document the issue as a team, and that he'd happily investigate the problem further if the issue continued to arise. Phil could have charged me for the second battery and his multiple days of testing and labor, but didn't charge me a penny. This has secured me as a lifelong customer of his. Few garages treat their clients like this... you can trust his integrity as a mechanic. Thank you, Phill. read more

Phill's personal touch in explaining all the work he did is very appreciated. He is very thorough in his work and the fact he doesn't just throw parts at a problem and see if that fixes the issue is such a significant relief. All of my vehicles will continue to be serviced here. read more

Phil came by the house which was so convenient for me! He was quick, efficient, teaches you things about your car and doesn't upsell like the dealerships do. I saved myself $300-400 using Phill and I'll never go back to a dealership if I can help it! He's so polite, friendly and knowledgeable! It made the whole experience such a pleasure! Use Phill!! read more

My daughter's car had a bad wheel bearing that made it undriveable. The unlubricated metal to metal howl was deafening. I wasn't comfortable driving it to a shop. I called Phill late in the evening on Wednesday and on Thursday morning he showed up with his big truck o' tools and replaced both the front wheel bearings at my house. I should mention it was 25 degrees outside while he was working. We discussed all the options before the work took place and he provided an accurate estimate of the charges before beginning. He used quality parts (He showed them to me before he began the work) and the car is back to running quiet and smooth. I would definitely recommend Phill as both a mobile mechanic and regular mechanic at his shop. His prices are fair and he has the proper tools and parts supplier relationships to do professional work. read more

Along with a good doctor and a dentist, a good, reliable car mechanic is gold when you move to a new area. Well, we found some great docs at Kaiser and now we found a great mechanic. Now if Phill knows a great dentist, my wife and I will be all set! read more

Phil and his crew did excellent work doing an interior detail of my friend's car. The car is 18 years old. I'm thinking it may have never been detailed before it was so bad! He told me that to do the job correctly they were going to need to take out the seats. That added some to the cost but it was worth it! He also told me it was going to take at least three hours. In a little over two hours it was done! The job was completed correctly as promised. That's enough to make me feel good about what I spent and will more than likely cause me to be a repeat customer. read more

I brought in my Mini Cooper after a road trip. The engine had a weird rattle. I stopped in downtown Camas at 6:15 last night which was Labor Day and Phill was in the shop working away. He had mentioned he had tight deadlines for 2 customers and wanted to make sure he got those done. He came out and diagnosed my car. Then went to O'Reilly's to order a fuel pump and had it all installed by the time it 7:15. I was out of there with no issues! I highly recommend this shop. Totally great service and the fact that he was in on Labor Day really shows the character Phill has and the type of business he runs. read more

I had a ran over something and broke my transmission pan and my tire was done for also.. anyways I called around and a lot of places wouldn't even touch my car since its a Volkswagen or were quoting me a crazy amount of money. I emailed Phill and he responded right away. I towed my car and he had everything fixed the Next day, which I was not expecting at all. He was quick and gave me the best price, super nice guy. Changed my tire without me asking, He also texted me updates and sent me pictures of the parts damaged. Highly recommend him read more

worst experience ever Phil had promised to do a job first thing in the morning and he not also let me know what time he was opening nor told me that he wasn't going to be able to do the job.. I would feel better if he would just tell me upfront that he couldn't do the job instead of just giving me the run around. I would go to mikes tire and auto at least he is more honest and upfront..... read more

Worst "mechanic," ever! I took me car in to get the catalytic converter replaced. At first Phill was extremely responsive and took the car in two days later. The engine light came on just over 120 miles after reconfirm the car back, so I took it in a second time and then a third and then a fourth. The problem was never fixed. Phill then tried to refer me to a 3rd party stating that they worked on the car and to contact them for the fix. I refused, stating that if he outsourced the services that's on him. I took my car to his shop and paid him, so he's responsible for all services and lack there of. I had to threaten legal action to receive a full refund. I'd beware as he's no mechanic. He'll detail your car, but outsources everything else. read more

We had an urgent need for a mechanic to look at the car on a Sunday and Phill was not only available, but also responded to our inquiry late Saturday night. Working with Phill was without a doubt the best car service we have ever received. He was kind, incredibly knowledgeable, but more importantly he showed us everything he was doing so we knew what the exact issue was he fixed. He thought it might be one issue from an initial glance, but then realized what the issue really was and called us to tell us what the new price would be for the parts to fix the actual problem. Compared to what we are used to paying in the Seattle area, the price was extremely reasonable and I dont feel like we were price gouged or tricked into fixing none issues as is the standard at other mechanics. His service was amazing and I would highly recommend him to anyone who asked. read more

Phill was very helpful checking out a used car we wanted to buy. Good price as well! We will be back. :)

We are so pleased with the detailing done to our Jeep! It was something we needed done quickly and they were willing to work with us even though we were out of town. We came home to a clean and safe Jeep. The Jeep needed a full interior clean after being stolen and being trashed inside with garbage and used needles in it, they were very detailed and made sure the car was safe for us to be in. Their holiday special also came with an oil change which was an added bonus! Not to mention they offered way better prices for their services and were very easy to communicate with and responded quickly. Will definitely use them again. Thank you!!! read more

Well what can I say, Phil's a decent dude, obviously knows what he's doing around cars but is he a people person? Why yes, Yes he is. Is he a mechanic who will steal all your money just to tell you that your car sucks? No, no he will not. I got pulled over for having a headlight out and I drove straight to Phill's. Phill himself showed me how to put in my headlight so I didn't have to waste money next time it happened, the guy just charged me for the part which was dandy. He also loves kids!
