Excellent service. Took my Yukon in for a 2nd opinion after AAMCO said I needed a new transmission and quoted me $10,100. I just wanted to see if Bill's could do it for cheaper. Not only was it cheaper, but Bill explained that my transmission was fine. There were no issues with it. My engine mount was cracked and my U-Joints were destroyed. So, instead of $10,100 for a tranny, I paid $1,500 for a new engine mount, U-joints and a transmission flush. Very honest guys and I couldn't be happier. read more

I can't say enough positive comments about Bills Tech Transmission. I grew up with a mechanical father and had some basic mechanical knowledge . The mechanic Kelly explained everything and I was grateful for his honest explanation . These folks are the most honest, knowledgeable and trustworthy repairmen I have ever met. Pricing is very fair. BEST PLACE for repairs. If you have tried to do repairs yourself and it didn't work, be ready for an honest reply! read more

This week I took my van into Bill's. The van has been shaking when trying to accelerate up to freeway speed. Just not a smooth ride. I was holding off since I knew it was probably going to be costly but it got worse. Luckily not transmission since that could be several grand. Ended up being the axel shafts that needed replaced and the transmission, engine were getting moved side to side when accelerating. Something like that definitely not a car person I recommend Bill & his team. My appt was just for diagnosis but he was awesome and able to fix it same day. He was pretty busy but made the time just so I could continue my chiropractor appts this week read more

Very knowledgeable and professional owner and staff. I received an estimate in a timely manner and finished replacing the transmission ahead of schedule. Would definitely recommend to any of my friends. read more

I must agree with this business being 'the best kept secret in Vancouver'. The owner and his certified mechanic are fantastic! Honesty, knosledge and quality work are present in this business. I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota 4x4 quad cab and Bill's did a complete service on my transmission (and then some!) Pricing is very reasonable too. You won't be sorry! read more

They take care of my 2000 Dodge Ram Cummins 2500 - and i take it to nobody but Bill's... Except now I need him to refer me to someone who adjusts valve lash... unless he does that as well.. Then I'm friggin' golden... ;-) read more

Quite possibly the best kept secret in Vancouver for transmission repair! I don't normally take vehicles to repair shops, so even trusting a repair facility is hard for me. I had an issue with my Ram 1500 slipping gears and didn't have time to mess with it myself so was forced to find a place to take it. I called around and spoke to several people, explaining my situation and asking for the "worst case" cost of a complete rebuild. Bill stood out from the crowd as not only was he willing to hear what I was saying and offer his advice, but he was able to tell me the "worst case" cost I asked for, and went into some technical explaination of what he's seen before and what he though it probably was. This is all without having yet even seen it! Suffice it to say, my search ended there and I took my truck straight to Bill. He was able look at my truck the following day, do a road test and use computer data to backup his thoughs, and produce a much less costly repair quote based on his findings. Acouple days later the repairs were complete, he called me back just as had been promised for me to come get it. When I got there he explained what he ultimately found, showed me the parts he replaced and explained some of the other things he checked while in there "just to be sure". I don't trust most repair shops, but Bills Tech-trans is one I do for sure. I'll be sure to visit Bill again with my future needs. Not only does Bill know what he's doing, he's a great honest guy that treats his customers right. read more

Paid the cost. 3/36/19-4/04 I had it and returned it for same problems a s before a day later. Now I'm informed it needs a transmission, not val body.and would be more than quoted from four seasons. I'm not sure how I found out about this place, but I am glad that I did. My truck was having a few issues and they all seemed to be from the transmission. The truck has about 120k miles on it, so I wanted to have it cleaned and the fluid flushed. Bill and Kelly took very good care of my truck and so far, it drives great! And their charges are very reasonable. read more

We had an emergency flat tire on the freeway. Pulled off and onto the street of this shop. The guy was cool enough to open his already closed shop and help us. He was very kind and helpful after, I'm sure a long work day. He didn't have to help us. But it shows a lot of integrity and customer service that he did. read more

Way over priced and rude. Told parts alone would be around $2000 to replace clutch. Found another place that was $600 total. read more

Bill is AMAZING!!! Honest, quick, and inexpensive. He told us the clutch would take half a day, the clutch was installed in half a day. He quoted me the best price in town, we paid the best price in town. I cant thank this guy enough. I had the best service anyone could ask for, especially this being the first time I've taken any vehicle to a repair shop. Cheers Bill read more

I wish I could give Bill more than 5 Stars. The transmission on my son's 2004 Ford Explorer finally gave out (we knew it was inevitable) on a Sunday afternoon in downtown Vancouver. Fortunately, we had AAA to come to tow the vehicle. The driver recommended towing it to a local shop and leaving it which is what we did. I looked up shops on Yelp and found Bill's Tech-Trans which has stellar reviews. Given it was Sunday, the shop was not open so we parked the Explorer outside the gate. When I called the shop Monday, Bill answered the phone, took a description of the symptoms, and said he would be on it. In less than a day he provided reasonable estimates with some options from used parts to a rebuild. With his rebuild, he offered a 3-year warranty and noted he could have the work done by the end of the week. I approved the rebuild and left the work to Bill. On Thursday morning, earlier than expected, he called to say the Explorer was ready to go and was running great. Since I was leaving town, I told him I would be in Monday to pick up the vehicle. When I arrived, it was stored in his shop, had been washed and dried, and was ready to go. Bill showed me the old parts and explained how they had failed. I HIGHLY recommend Bill and his team for your transmission repair needs. Great work, great people, and resonable prices. read more

Bill and Kelly are great! My Jeep did some funky transmission stuff one day and they were quick to get me in. Honest work, done by very nice and educating people. Another perk- pricing that I was comfortable paying. They did diagnostics and dropped the pan for a full inspection for around $100. I was able to leave my Jeep with them before work and she was ready for me when I was off. I'm happy with that and happy that I have some peace of mind about what went wrong and what they did to fix it. I'd recommend them to anybody! read more

Went to this tranny shop because I ran into a guy at the grocery store who used to work with Bill when they were younger. They both have dodge diesels so I felt better taking mine to Bill. It's time for me to go back for an oil change and I appreciated his honesty that a real transmission oil change should have the pan dropped. Also my first trip to him revealed electrical and mechanical problems which cost more than the oil change but restored first gear in our automatic. The service date was about 2 years ago. read more

If you are looking for reasonably priced, top-notch transmission repair in Vancouver, WA - this is it! I cannot recommend Bill's Tech Trans enough! Having to deal with an unexpected transmission failure was frustrating! But, what was even more frustrating is dealing with some repair shops that act like vultures and try to milk the situation. I was fortunate enough to find out about Bill's Tech Trans from the tow truck driver who brought our car home from another repair shop. Bill was very easy to work with from the get go. He looked at our car and told us what NEEDED to be fixed to get us back on the road. His price about was $800 less than what the other shops had quoted us. Since we got our car back, it drives smoother than it ever did! As I said at the beginning, I cannot recommend these guys enough! Should you ever be in the unfortunate situation of needing your car's transmission repaired, Bill's Tech Trans is the place to go. They will make the process less frustrating and they are very, very good at what they do! read more

I have had two transmissions rebuilt (two different vehicles!) in the last 6 months or so...I've been very impressed with the high level of service and quality of repairs; most importantly, I felt that Bill cared about my vehicles and provided multiple options for me.
