COME HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! They took thousands of dollars from me AND DAMAGED MY CAR. I tried to work with this shop and give them the benefit of the doubt but they are not honest. I do not recommend this shop! I have spent thousands of dollars and had to return several times because of their shoddy work. It started when my check engine light came on. I brought it in for a diagnostic, and they said it was a certain part, which cost around 1k. We will call this repair #1. After repair #1, the check engine light came back on numerous times with the same code. I took it in every time. A few times they wasted my day, by making me bring it in only to shrug it off and say they didn't see any issues. Finally I told them they needed to figure it out. They agreed only after charging me for another diagnostic (FOR THE SAME ENGINE LIGHT CODE). They told me it wasn't the part they had replaced in Repair #1 as they had tested it and it wasn't faulty. They said it was another part which would cost around 1.3k, which will be called Repair #2. They promised the diagnostic I paid would be credited. They also said just in case they would warranty out the part from Repair #1. I paid them to replace it, only to be charged a lot more (almost 2k) when I picked it up. They also never credited the diagnostic as they promised. They also replaced my drive belt and charged me for it, when I had just paid them to replace the belt a few months ago! When I picked up the car, it was squealing and making a groaning noise. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON WITH THE SAME CODE. Turns out they never tested the original part from Repair #1 and it was faulty. They never warrantied the first part as they said they would. So there is a high probability Repair #2 was not needed. They wasted 2k of my money and lied to me. Frustrated, I took it to another shop (thank you Corey's Car Care) for the groaning, which showed me that THEY NEVER FULLY PUT THE CAR BACK TOGETHER!! The bottom part of the car had warped because they didn't put in the bolts on the bottom. To make it even better, now they are refusing to honor the diagnostic credit despite it being in writing. Avoid this shop at all costs! Go to Corey's Car Care where you know it will be done correctly THE FIRST TIME and you won't be scammed.

Bad seal job

Had them replace my thermostat in my durango. It was throwing a code for my engine running to cold. They determined the thermostat was opening up to soon and or stuck open. After they replaced the thermostat It still threw the same code. So I had them check it. they replaced it under warranty. Come to find out they put a 160 in when my car needed a 195. Only the second time around after they test drove it coolant started leaking. They determined it was a bad water pump. I ask them to replace it. I get a call saying they snapped a bolt off in my timing cover and that it was going to be atleast 1,000 to fix. Like most people nowadays I don't have money like that laying around so I did it myself. Took me 12hrs to get my timing cover off to get the snapped bolt out. After I replaced the water pump put everything back together. I start pouring coolant back in and out of nowhere it starts leaking out. I follow the leak up to my thermostat housing and can physically move it. I take it off and see they put way to much sealant on. So I took it apart and realized on top of a bad seal job they also put in the wrong thermostat agian. Has me wondering if my water pump was even bad I didn't see any signs on the old pump. After confronting them they apologized for the seal job. Said the best they could do was give me a credit for the next time I bring my car in. Like I'm going to trust them with doing anything.

Great local auto repair shop. Fair prices and hard working.

Run! Run! This guy is a big rip off. I took my car to him after it was diagnosed at another shop…read morebecause he specializes in Honda. I told him I wanted the air conditioner unit replaced and a new serpentine belt. He called with a price and I authorized it and when I went to pay I discovered he added 600.00 for diagonistic. He never told me about this charge when I dropped my car off. I should have got it in writing before I let him work on it I am an elderly women and he saw me coming and took advantage. I offered to split the difference with him but he refused. Lesson learned Watch out for this guy. I asked him to check out the dash that was not working he didn't even look up the codes and told me to take it to a dealership. I wished I had done it from the start. 600.00 is a lot of money for a senior on social security.Shame on this business

Munson's independent Auto It actually pains me to write this…read morereview because I've been a customer for over two decades and have had really great service. However, that has all changed. I will never bring another car back to this place and they will not get one more dollar. We brought our pilot in for a parasitic draw. We literally left that on a note for them to check out. They said they tested everything (battery/alternator). I said did you drive it around? turn it on turn it off, etc. they said yes they even kept it overnight tested in the morning and they said everything came back good. I showed up just before they closed at 4 o'clock and had my son drive the car 3.5 miles to the rental car place (straight down 4th plain) because we were dropping off a rental car only to have the car (pilot) die right there in the parking lot and not even being able to be jumped. This was extremely frustrating, especially after I told them that there was an issue so basically from what I gather all they did was charge the battery which I did at home and it was able to start one time. I don't think they did any relevant/ or proper testing on the car which I basically just burned up $100. That's fine living and learning I guess. What's very frustrating is trying to find a good honest shop that does good quality work and like I said we have brought all of our cars there going all the way back to the early 2000s And even before that so they have lost me as a lifetime customer and I would recommend if you have any electrical issues to not have the shop do it unless you want to be stranded and have your car towed to another place that can figure it out. There was no communication there was no Customer service... Not even a call that would apologize or willing to take care of the issue after they said that they had tried to fix it unfortunately, Munson's is no longer a top shop. Don't go here...

I found Tom Dwyer Auto via raving reviews on Reddit and decided to give them a shot to try to…read morediagnose the source of my water leak. I also added a comprehensive exam (which they offered at a discounted rate) for them to look at my car as a whole and to let me know what things might need repair now and in the near future. They were able to see my car within a week of me reaching out for an appt, and they only kept my car for ~5 hours. They tried everything they could to find the source of my leak, but when they couldn't, they referred me to Liberty Water Leak, who was fantastic and found the sources of my leak and water damage within a few hours. With the comprehensive exam, they listed each item that needed repair and were not pushy AT ALL. They also answered all of my questions, yes... even the dumb ones. There was an oversight where my wiper cowlings were not installed correctly, so I did leave an honest review on SureCritic saying that I wasn't sure if I'd trust them with further repairs due to that mistake. Within a week of posting that review, the shop called me to apologize and discuss what happened. On top of that, they refunded me my entire bill. I understand now why Tom Dwyer Auto has such good reviews-- They genuinely care about their customers and producing quality work. I am grateful to have been treated with respect, not taken advantage of as a female, and for their determination to correct the mistakes made. Thank you again!
