I got my 1930 Chrysler Series 70 Roadster back from Mr. Auto. Mr. Auto's did a fantastic job fixing the car's various problems. Though an old car, they managed to find the parts I needed. The engine was not original, but a mid-50s Chrysler stand-alone 251 long block 6. The repairs took a bit of time as a number of the parts didn't work (from China) and had to be sent back. I'm pretty sure this is a scammer auto repair shop. I had a thermostat installed..$249 ($40 for a gallon of coolant) and then was told that wasn't the problem. I was told I needed a new radiator which would be another $600 Come to find out they didn't even take it off to check it. Did not buy that service. Was told the next day that wasn't the problem either after they actually took it off to check. Good thing I didn't spend $600. So my final straw was the next diagnosis is a blown head gasket. $2000 Another lie in sure. COME HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! They took thousands of dollars from me AND DAMAGED MY CAR. I tried to work with this shop and give them the benefit of the doubt but they are not honest. I do not recommend this shop! I have spent thousands of dollars and had to return several times because of their shoddy work. It started when my check engine light came on. I brought it in for a diagnostic, and they said it was a certain part, which cost around 1k. We will call this repair #1. After repair #1, the check engine light came back on numerous times with the same code. I took it in every time. A few times they wasted my day, by making me bring it in only to shrug it off and say they didn't see any issues. Finally I told them they needed to figure it out. They agreed only after charging me for another diagnostic (FOR THE SAME ENGINE LIGHT CODE). They told me it wasn't the part they had replaced in Repair #1 as they had tested it and it wasn't faulty. They said it was another part which would cost around 1.3k, which will be called Repair #2. They promised the diagnostic I paid would be credited. They also said just in case they would warranty out the part from Repair #1. I paid them to replace it, only to be charged a lot more (almost 2k) when I picked it up. They also never credited the diagnostic as they promised. They also replaced my drive belt and charged me for it, when I had just paid them to replace the belt a few months ago! When I picked up the car, it was squealing and making a groaning noise. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON WITH THE SAME CODE. Turns out they never tested the original part from Repair #1 and it was faulty. They never warrantied the first part as they said they would. So there is a high probability Repair #2 was not needed. They wasted 2k of my money and lied to me. Frustrated, I took it to another shop (thank you Corey's Car Care) for the groaning, which showed me that THEY NEVER FULLY PUT THE CAR BACK TOGETHER!! The bottom part of the car had warped because they didn't put in the bolts on the bottom. To make it even better, now they are refusing to honor the diagnostic credit despite it being in writing. Avoid this shop at all costs! Go to Corey's Car Care where you know it will be done correctly THE FIRST TIME and you won't be scammed. read more

Had them replace my thermostat in my durango. It was throwing a code for my engine running to cold. They determined the thermostat was opening up to soon and or stuck open. After they replaced the thermostat It still threw the same code. So I had them check it. they replaced it under warranty. Come to find out they put a 160 in when my car needed a 195. Only the second time around after they test drove it coolant started leaking. They determined it was a bad water pump. I ask them to replace it. I get a call saying they snapped a bolt off in my timing cover and that it was going to be atleast 1,000 to fix. Like most people nowadays I don't have money like that laying around so I did it myself. Took me 12hrs to get my timing cover off to get the snapped bolt out. After I replaced the water pump put everything back together. I start pouring coolant back in and out of nowhere it starts leaking out. I follow the leak up to my thermostat housing and can physically move it. I take it off and see they put way to much sealant on. So I took it apart and realized on top of a bad seal job they also put in the wrong thermostat agian. Has me wondering if my water pump was even bad I didn't see any signs on the old pump. After confronting them they apologized for the seal job. Said the best they could do was give me a credit for the next time I bring my car in. We took a car we had just bought our daughter here after it was leaking something. We were told all different things and looking where you could take a bmw in Vancouver they were highly recommended. Wow. We spent almost $4000 on a car we had just paid $3500 for and it was so much worse when we got it back. More leaking, loudspeaker noises it didn't have before and would barely run anymore. We sold it 2 weeks after we bought it for $3500 , put $4000 in it and sold it for $1800 with the noises and leaks. We felt completely let down by our local neighborhood auto repair. They could have told us that it was too big of a job for them or that they felt the car was junk. But they took our money and left us with a worse off car. Very disappointed. And surprised. if I could give them 0 stars I would they fucked up our car then told us to pay for their mistake when it was there mistake and said they would fix it because we had a warranty, instead they said it was something else when it wasn't because we went to other car places and said there is nothing else that is broken expect the part that MR auto replaced. I went in expecting to replace the alternator in my kiddos car, and told them so. Once they looked the car over, they told me it was just the battery, replaced it for a great price and got us back on the road...after doing a full inspection and letting me know that I might be looking at repairs sooner rather than later (it was a 2003). They let me know the pros and cons of doing each repair on a car that age, and what the total cost of putting them off might be. Went in Thursday night to set up appt, I was able to drop my car off Friday morning, and it was done before I got off work. The price was exactly what the estimate said it would be, and when they found an issue with my lights, which I had forgot about, they called to let me know and fixed it for a good price as well. So I had a lot of damage done to my under carriage due to a hoopey car falling apart on I-5. I took it here. I thought they did a great job, this was July 2022, but now I am in Montana and checked my antifreeze, since by their billing they charged me for 2 gallons. Well after I put another gallon of non diluted antifreeze it registered at 10 degrees. I don't think they put 2 gallons in since I had to add another half to even get it to register. I also had manifold noise after they replaced it. I took it back they said they forgot something...never did find out what it was, but then I had ticking noise. I took it back they couldn't hear. You had to drive by a wall to hear which I told them. It quit after weather was no longer warm, I was told after I called a second time that we'll my car was old. 1995 Honda del sol which has been taken very good care of. When they did the tune up I thought I had distributor cap and rotor in car, they said they needed replaced. Then I remembered we put in ourselves. So when I called about it, I was told call the 1-800 number since I am in Montana now. read more

A couple months ago my car started overheating and leaking coolant. I live in Vancouver but work in Portland. I needed my car ASAP and other shops around Vancouver were booked out. Mr. Auto was busy but said they could help me. Richie was having a rough week. He was running two shops alone because life happened and his boss and coworkers were out sick. The phones were ringing and he was super busy trying to help everyone. I was panicking because car repairs and trying to get to work. When Richie evaluated my car and told me I needed a new water pump and timing belt, he saw my soul leave my body. He quoted me the cost and said he would try to do only what was exactly necessary to get me back on the road. The more he dug around the more minor issues he found in my ancient car. When it was clear my car wouldn't be finished in time to for me to get to work, he literally closed up shop and drove me to work and offered to pick me up! Richie saved my life. He was compassionate and empathetic and did a lot to help me and my car. Mr. Auto has a new customer. 10/10 recommend this shop and Richie specifically. I had a fraudulent charge on my credit card at Mr. Auto in Vancouver,WA for almost $700. I have not been to Vancouver for years. I realize this isn't necessarily the fault of the business. However I think this business should check people's ID's in the future to confirm the identity of the individual to make sure it is a legitimate transaction and NOT take any credit card info over the phone. read more
