The food is pretty good and I love the discount but the waitresses are so mean and rude and just not pleasant it makes me angry. It honestly makes me never want to eat there ever again. One of the waitresses demanded more of a tip even though my friends and I had already left 20%. They are greedy and overbearing. The lid to our soy sauce accidentally fell into the bottle and the waitress came by and rudely asked where it went and then rolled her eyes and yelled in japanese. They rush to take away your food before you are finished. My advice is never go to the bathroom before you have finished your meal because they will take it away while you are gone. Nothing bothers me more than dishonesty. Especially when it comes to something that's going to be consumed by another person. Had I not gone to the sushi bar to watch my food being made, I'd have been in for a disgusting surprise. The tuna dumplings clearly state they're made with king crab. I double checked when I ordered that it wasn't kani(fake fish product). They confirmed, so I ordered. At the sushi bar, I watched them load up the dumpling with kani and like a joke, put one tiny piece of crab on top. When I said something to the woman up front, she made no attempt to fix it or give me what the menu stated. They took it off my bill and let me leave. 1/2 price or not, I'll never go back. The fish here is fresh and the portions are plentiful. Presentation is executed well. If you are gluten-free, be extremely specific. I ordered the Salmon toro tartar, which is a honey-wasabi, mango pile of salmon deliciousness. However, they used some tempura flakes without writing it on the menu. I sensed it from the first bite and they happily remade it for me, but I don't think they know about gluten. Luckily, I don't have a severe allergy level. Also, no gluten-free soy sauce. Masago is probably my most frequent visited restaurant in Morristown. The sushi is always delicious and you can't beat the price at 50% off with cash. BYOB. It's casual and comfortable, and the wait staff is friendly and gets the food out to you pretty quickly. Without a doubt the worst customer service experience I've ever had. From the very beginning, the staff was horrible. My group had a reservation that we had to push back by ten minutes and they were very unhappy about that, despite the fact that most of their tables were open. When we got there, the waitress snapped at every question, argued with us, and spoke to us like we were a complete waste of her time. She reminded us over and over and over again what time the restaurant closed (we were well within the operating hours of the restaurant, and left nearly an hour before closing time). She very clearly wanted us to leave. While we were waiting for the last members of our party to park the car, we asked the waitress if it would be better for her if we waited to order until everyone was present, or to order now with an incomplete party. She said "I don't care," threw some menus on the table, and walked away. The food was fine, but after the meal we were so put off by the staff that we left as small a tip as possible (we would have left no tip if we had exact change). As we were leaving, the waitress cornered us and demanded a larger tip. When I explained that the dinner was a horrible experience and that my group was treated very rudely, she told us that next time we came here, we had to leave a larger tip. I told her that next time, we certainly wouldn't be coming back here. She said "good, don't come back." Don't worry. I won't. On the way out, we ran into another group of people outside who'd just left the restaurant too. I heard about this place many many times but never stopped by. I normally go to Nagano next door. All of my friends say the place has good food and is cheap, BUT (big but) the service is HORRIBLE, and my experience is exactly what my friend say. First of all, they were rushing us to order the food (hey I just saw my friend who I didn't see for quite a while, let us talk. The place was empty, and we were the first table of the day! Plus, I just got engaged. My friend was excited and wanted to know the details). Second of all, my friend told me (she got there first) that when she sat down, the waitress was pretty much threw the menu on the table, and I noticed when the food came, she served with an attitude that I was not quite sure why she was so mad. Lastly, when we finished eating, one of them gave us the bill. We were not really yet done talking, so we did not pay attention about it. The waitresses were trying to have us pay and leave for 4 times. I don't know why they did that when the place had only 3 other tables besides us. Why can't we hang around for a little? We got there at 11.30 and by the time we were done eating, it was only 12 something, and the place was not busy so far. Finally we decided to pay and leave, the waitress took my friend's card and came back trying to say (in an aggressive way) that she forgot to charge the bottle of water my friend ordered earlier but didn't make it clear and understandable, so my friend didn't get what the waitress said and asked the waitress question. The waitress didn't understand what my friend was asking and scolded at my friend very loudly that everyone could hear, "BOTTLE OF WATER COSTS MONEY YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT." OKAAAAAY, relax...calm down...my friend didn't say she wouldn't pay for it, and she knows a bottle of water costs $. After paying and leaving, we have decided that we would not ever go back there again. Yes, the food was good, and yes it was cheap, but it isn't that great that we have to go back for a crappy service. At the end of the day, my friend also found out that she got charged twice for our food. Such a pleasant experience we got from this place. I've only ever ordered takeout from here, but I'm hooked! I've tried a variety of vegetarian rolls and simple fish rolls, and all have been delicious. Yellowtail and salmon sashimi have always been excellent, and I think the pad thai is amazing (ask for extra spicy). Delivery is quick and drivers have always been able to locate my hard-to-find apartment with no phone call to ask for extra directions - a big plus!
