We were very excited to discover Malay nearby in Morristown, and we had to check it out. We ordered the Malay Prawn Mee, Chicken Sambal, and the Roti Canai. Roti Canai is one of my favorite Malaysian dishes, but this didn't quite hit the spot. The roti wasn't soft and dip-able. It was kind of flaky and kept falling apart every time I tried to use it to scoop up some curry. The curry was a little watery and not all that flavorful, and I defintiely would've appreciated more than just one or two chunks of potato and chicken. The chicken sambal and soup were additionally a bit disappointing. The chicken sambal was just okay for me, and the flavor didn't really blow me out of the water. It almost felt like something I could make at home. The soup similarly did not have a particularly rich or flavorful broth, and left me a little dissapointed. Another thing that really influences my review is how cold it was inside. It got even colder when people opened and closed the door. It was so cold that our food didn't seem hot. I think the cold air cooled it off instantly and we were left eating room temperature chicken and soup.

Well today, I'm ordering takeout to start my holiday a little sooner, but service is prompt and friendly. They're happy to answer your questions and offer advice on your order. They recommended me away from getting something breaded to go, as being covered would steam the crispiness away. How thoughtful. Some of our friends have been raving about this place, saying this is where they'd get the best Thai in the state. Whilst I'm a bit reserved to make such a statement, our experience was truly a well rounded experience. We ordered a number of appetizers from Chef's special menu, then several entrees including soup, salad, noodles and curries. The only non-authentic meal ordered was the French Soup, which I found too sweet for my liking, but all else was really flavorful. It was really busy so we had a bit of a wait once ordered, but understandably so. No complaints and would come back again to try some of the other dishes from the menu!

The chicken proteins are high-quality; the veggie dumplings are tasty quick bites; the front of house is congenial and accommodating. The best dish we had was the kung pao chicken, which brought a little heat, and was color- and spiciness-balanced by the zucchini and carrot veggies. Then I'd say the next best was the fried veggie dumplings, which were true hand food and not oily. In third place was the sesame chicken, which was just fine. My mom wanted to substitute bok choy for the broccoli that normally comes with the sesame chicken, which they cheerfully obliged even though our order was several minutes in at that point. All in all, a full step above your standard Chinese takeout! You won't regret trying it.

Usually the first thing I try at every Chinese restaurant is sweet and sour chicken with fried rice - I like to start with a basic order. Honestly it was pretty good. It had good crisp to it and the sweet and sour sauce was pretty good too. The pork fried rice wasn't my favorite. But it was decent. The staff was very busy, yet they were still friendly and helpful. Their card readers go down sometime, so next time I come in I will make sure to bring cash just in case. I ended up having to trust them with my card number, which made me uneasy, but when I saw the correct charge on my bank statement later that evening I felt better. It's nice knowing they are trustworthy! I will probably be back since the event I went to is recurring. Looking forward to trying more menu options.
