We moved from Austin Texas to Sunnyvale California and David personally took care of our big move (from a 3600 to 1600 sqft house). From wrapping up our furnitures, loading and unloading the truck with his own movers, we really are very happy with everything he has done. We got our furnitures back as we left them in Texas and he was very transparent and was always giving us updates on the ETA. Scammed out of $1,419 and threatened by MAS Moving to keep my items hostage!! I used a broker called u-ship to setup services with Mas Moving for a 2 bed apartment move and two cars from San Francisco area to Texas. I signed an all inclusive bid of $5,500. I let Luis know my budget was $5k max and he said that the broker charges their own fees so he could quote me at $5,500, I agree understanding that would include u-ship's fees, signed, and made a 15% up-front deposit. The next day I email Luis and ask him for the contract, he plays me along day after day promising to send it and yet it never arrives. The day of my move I ask again. Lupe from the office says "Oh no, there is no contract. You're confused. The contract is through U-ship." Ok, well then what has Luis been promising me for over a week then? Lupe says "I don't know what he means, I'll ask him and get back to you." No calls, no emails, no follow up whatsoever. The next day, I get an email from Luis asking if I wanted to meet up with his co-worker to get the contract. I said "You know I am already on my way to Texas so I can't meet you in SF." He responds and says he will email it that day. Never receive anything. The day of my move, Mas calls and says their truck won't fit down my street so I have to pay an extra $650 to have the items shuttled from my house to the warehouse. Call me crazy but shouldn't they check that kind of thing out on Google Maps or something before giving me an all inclusive bid? Lupe from their office says "Well, we should be charging you $1,290 extra but we're going to make an exception." Gee, thanks so much, you're really doing me a favor there! My items are then loaded up over the next 7 hours and I have to drive my cars myself over to their warehouse. I had to rush pack as it was because I needed to be moved in on 03/12. Luis said I had to be packed by 03/07 to make that happen so that is exactly what I did. On the 12th when my items are supposed to arrive, I still have not heard one word since they loaded up my items. I start to panic and call them 12 times, no answer. I finally receive an email from Luis 3 hours later that their truck had an issue on Friday and my items wouldn't be arriving until 03/15/17. And you waited until the day you are supposed to be unloading to tell me because WHY??? You knew there was a problem on Friday and you don't even mention it until Sunday when you're late? There's nothing I can do about it so the next 3 nights I spend sleeping on the floor of my new home. That same day (Sunday), Lupe from the office calls to confirm I owe $5,500 and it is due before the items will be unloaded on Wednesday. I said "No, that's not right. I accepted a bid of $5,500 total and I already paid $800+ on u-ship the day I booked so I owe roughly $4,700." Lupe says "No, you have to pay us the full $5,500. You only paid u-ships fees." OK but your bid is all inclusive and if I log onto u-ships website, it says "Amount paid: $746, Amount Due to Carrier: $4,756. Where is the confusion? She said Luis told you that y had to pay $5,500 plus u-ships fees. Not true, I never would have agreed to that because I can not afford that much. She says she will call me back after talking to Luis so I reach out to U-ship for mediation assistance. U-ship says I am 100% in the right and they will email Mas Moving to inform them I only owe $4,756. The next day at 7:30pm, I receive an email from Mas saying that because we are dealing with payment issues in the "11th hour" that I have to wire transfer the full $5,500 into their account or they will be holding my items hostage. I call Lupe and tell her that is illegal and that I have a signed contract showing $4,756 is due. She said that she sees in me and Luis' emails where the confusion is and she thinks we both messed up... Luis should have set his bid at $6250 to include u-ships fees and I should have clarified what was included in my bid. no, I signed an ALL INCLUSIVE bid for $5,500 total. Ok, so what does that mean Lupe? Well you have to pay the $5,500 but I'm going to make sure Luis calls you tomorrow to see if you can settle this. It wasn't all your fault and it wasn't all his fault so you should meet in the middle" I NEVER receive a call back from him. I call Lupe that night to let her know that I am going to pay the full $5,500 upon arrival since they are threatening to keep my items hostage. I told her that was illegal and she went into some serious detail about why it is not illegal and all of the "loopholes" they have. They know the tricks to be able to charge you extra money and keep your stuff hostage until you pay. I have filed formal complaints with BBB, U-ship, Utilities Commission, and FMSCA. My experience was full of lies and broken promises, beware. read more

I recently moved from the Bay Area to New Orleans. This was my first major move and I was very nervous, but Luis and Lupe helped me through the entire process and was very patient with all my questions and concerns. They completely put my mind at ease. Luis, David and their crews were amazing. They were very meticulous in making sure all my stuff was safely packed onto the truck and were just as careful and considerate when brining it to my new home in New Orleans. It's also worth noting that I have unpacked everything, and all my stuff is in perfect condition. David and his crew were a Godsend! My company's client closed down their office in Hayward and I was responsible in disposing all of their office furniture. This client of ours had a crazy amount of desks, tables, chairs, filing cabinets, partitions, large copy machines, etc. We also had 1 week to dispose of everything! I reached out to David and explained to him my situation, sent him pictures and he quickly assured me he could move and dispose everything by the date I needed everything out. On the day of disposal, he and his crew arrived at exactly 9am and they went straight to work. He had quoted me for 6 hours worth of labor and they did it in 5! Dave and Lupe came out to help me with a very tricky move. They happily met me at the Palo Alto IKEA and helped me move the heavy boxes and mattresses from the store back to my home in San Jose. Then moved it all in and assembled the furniture pieces (3 beds and a dining table). They even collected and took away all the cardboard! We used these guys through a mailer, not usually done by me. I like to work off referrals. Anyway, David came out to do an assessment and basically said "we can do anything"! We moved into a furnished house but the furnishings were unacceptable so we had David and his crew remove all the existing furniture to the garage and then move in our belongings. It was a very long day of maneuvering large pieces into a small spaces (mattress through windows etc.) and it really did prove David and his crew can do anything! Not happy with the way the Project Manager David handled things. We had a difficult move from South San Francisco to Hayward. We were promised 3 trucks and 6 men. On the first day of the move only 1 truck came. We have a warehouse. and we needed 6 trucks. We also wanted to move during the weekend so our business would not be interrupted. The PM kept promising everything would be ok and after 2 days of only having 1 truck making only 2 trips to the new location we were not happy. Instead of them apologizing and fixing the situation they quit and abandoned us. They only moved 30% of our warehouse. We had to scramble to hire a new moving company. Today we received an invoice for over 50% of the bill. They actually think that they deserve to be paid that much? Are you kidding? They left us holding the bag. read more

I would never recommend MAS moving and associated services to anyone. I should have know, when the workers showed up and started talking bad about the owners that they were a problem. They damaged our home and then refused to pay for the repairs. We had to take them to court. We won the case but still have not been paid. We found them to be dishonest in there dealing. I have nothing bad to say about David and MAS. I've used them several times now for moving, long/short term storage, and even help selling items on Craigslist (they will store items at no charge while you try to sell them and you can negotiate a split). They always arrived on time and worked efficiently yet carefully. They were thorough in wrapping and preparing items before loading. Nothing was ever lost or damaged. I never felt like they were purposefully moving slowly to increase the number of hours for the job. On one occasion I was moving some stuff while storing others and they accidentally forgot that I had requested to move my bed instead of store it. David was reasonable and corrected the mistake by having the bed delivered the next day since they had a job in the general area again. As long as you plan ahead and have all your stuff packed and ready to go, the move should be a breeze. Highly recommended and will definitely use them again. read more

Moving can be a stressful ordeal. And, arranging a mover in California when one lives in Mexico, particularly so. But, I had utilized MAS Moving in 2012 as their affiliate, Golden Bear Moving and Mario Ortiz, is based in MX and had moved a friend successfully, so I chose Mario for my MX to US move. Mario delivered my goods to Laredo where MAS took over and brought them ALL including my car, right on schedule. Back in 2010 I made a HUGE move to Mexico from San Francisco. It involved a piano and a house full of well loved antiques /family heirlooms...and ME! I had experienced a couple movers from hell before these fellows and was still in recovery when (Mario and at that time Moises) came into my life. It is a lot to move one's life to a whole new country and there were enough issues to make one's back spasm. MAS took me by the hand and made EVERY aspect of the move as completely UN-stressful as a move could ever be. They helped with the Manaje de Casa and even escorting me across the border in my car!! My truckload of "life" arrived ahead of me so they stored it until I was ready,! They are THE MOST Professional crew with the greatest dispositions and went ABOVE and BEYOND the call of duty in every part of the move. A couple pieces were damaged (one I had wrapped and one that was weakened by former movers) and everything was repaired better than before and with no questions or delay!!!!
