Some customers are always concerned about value vs. price, and, in this instance, the small Summer Breeze salad I had was "actually huge" and, their Top End Salad!! So for a high-end incredible salad under 17$ it is well worth it. I advise everyone in Ocean Beach to come here and enjoy their incredible salads! This is a review for the Ocean Beach location. Let's start with the positives first : the salad was pretty good. Now - let's get to the negatives - of which there are many. You would think one could get the salad served in a regular bowl if eating there - nope, they only have the "to go" plastic containers, even though their website shows salads served in an ACTUAL BOWL. So, great, I get to waste plastic, between the "to go" bowl, plastic fork, plastic cup for water, and plastic small cup for dressing. Second, they don't have ice?! WTF? We would like to have our Diet Coke with a cup of ice but they just....don't have any ice. Ok..... Next, let's talk about price. $16 for a salad isn't cheap, but then another $6 just to add some cubes of chicken? Really? For $22 I could go to an actual restaurant and not eat at one of these "fast casual" places. Over and over again we the public are told to "eat and spend local", but this is exactly why these places are going under. For $22 I get attitude from the 19 year old working the register, get to drink out of a can, get tons of plastic to dispose of, and get to sit in a bland, white cinder block eating area which has a beautiful view of the CVS parking lot. Learned my lesson - next time I'll go to an actual sit-down restaurant that charges the same price and is a much better experience. read more

The moment I saw a sign saying that Mary's was coming to our neighborhood, I wanted them to hurry up! Haha. I used to live in La Jolla and loved the Mary's there too. We need more healthy options around here, so Mary's was a welcome addition. The salads are big (a large feeds 2 of us) , fresh, and delicious. My favorites are the summer breeze and the harvest Cobb. My gf is obsessed with the cookies. I've ordered in the restaurant and for delivery, but I prefer to go in there. The kids working there are super friendly and fit the OB vibe perfectly. read more

Today I split the harvest cob salad with my friend and it was delicious. We also got one bowl of soup each and we enjoyed that too. I like the egg and the avocado with bits of yams or was it sweet potato? The presentation of the ceramic bowls is quite nice and the location is nice cause you can look up at the street. I really liked the flavor of how they chose to put the salad together and I really think Ocean Beach use can use a place like this to show healthy options and variety with vegetables. Ocean Beach has needed a salad spot for a while and Mary's truly hits the spot. my personal favorite is the thai crunch, chock-full of delicious fresh ingredients and mixed with a fantastic peanut dressing. i've been impressed with the super food salad as well, and can't wait to try more varieties soon. There is nothing better than Mary's Salads. I have been a fan of this place since their original location in La Jolla and now they are finally open in Ocean Beach! The ingredients are top notch and freshness is their top priority here. I always leave here feeling satisfied and well serviced. They have a great crew and the vibes in the new location are immaculate. (Also important to note they keep this place spotless 10 outa 10 clean) All I want to do is eat here everyday. Mary's Salads just opened in Ocean Beach and they're already doing everything right. I've had the Summer Breeze both times I've gone and it's been consistently excellent. The dine-in presentation was great -- a large bowl, nice fork, and overall a really pleasant eating experience with natural lighting. Both visits came with a sample of their turmeric bisque, which was also outstanding. I tried a cookie on my last visit and it was equally impressive (with those fancy salt flakes). I am so excited to say that Mary's Salads has opened in Ocean Beach! The staff was very welcoming! With so many salad choices I had a hard time choosing which to try first- I had the Mediterranean and every ingredient was fresh, packed with flavor and the dressing was perfect! I was happy to learn that you can also choose from a large variety of ingredients and house made dressings for them to create your own salad.
