Spicy Soondae is what Moobongri is known for and I could understand why. If you like blood sausage, cartilage, different cuts of meat, and spice you'll enjoy the spicy Soondae. The cashier was super helpful in helping me narrow down my soup. Convenient location inside HMart food court.

TL;DR: Great variety of soups and SO flavorful This spot is located at the food court inside of H-Mart. Visiting San Diego and was craving some Korean soup. When I found this spot, first things that caught my eye was pork gukbap and soondae guk, both of which options are limited/non-existent back at home. SERVICE: Very friendly. You order, pay, they give you a beeper, and then find a table. There are a lot of other vendors too, so it was fun to walk around and see what they had. FOOD: ~Pork Gukbap (5/5): had so much good flavor. The depth of flavor in the soup was so good, and the pieces of pork in it was so tender and melt in your mouth good. You get to season it yourself so that you can get it just to your liking. ~Spicy Soondae Guk (5/5): This was SO GOOD. Flavor bomb and just spicy enough. Decent amount of meat and soondae in it. ~Soondae & Pork Sampler Plate (3/5): Soondae was okay but a little overcooked (bursting, but not in a good way). The pork sampler was a mixed bag. Some pieces were tender and some were dry and rough, but overall flavor was okay. Overall, this place definitely won me over with their soups.

Delicious! Had the spicy beef soup & it was soooo good!!! It's at the H Mart. Service took some time, but the food was very good

The spicy beef soup was so good, rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. It's such comfort food, warm and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive. The staff made sure everything came out hot and fresh and were happy to answer questions about the menu.

Food: I always get the spicy soondae soup. The original soup and this spicy one always taste really good. However I do feel that since they opened, the portion of meat inside the soup has reduced. Also, more chapsal soondae than tojong soondae since opening. I enjoy the tojong soondae more because there is more flavor into it. I wish they gave more meat inside the soup. Service: it's inside a food court so don't expect service. They just give you the ringing bell and you pick up once it's ready. Ambiance: H mart is always busy. A lot of people in the weekends.

Located inside the food court of H Mart. I've tried their 감자탕 twice, both times didn't disappoint. Lots of meat and the broth is so good. It comes with a side of kimchi and radish kimchi + rice.

I've loved the location in Oakland so when I saw this place in the food court at Hmart, I had to try. They have a limited menu compared to the restaurant in Oakland but it was very good too. We ordered #6 spicy pork soup and #10 spicy beef soup with beef flank meat and veggies. Both had a nice kick but not too spicy. Both the pork and beef broths were rich in flavor and they have their own distinctive tastes. Generous portions and hearty with lots of meat. I just returned from Seoul and these soups didn't disappoint our tastebuds. My husband was satisfied with the Spicy pork soup and I really enjoyed my spicy beef soup as there were so many ingredients such beef, egg, clear noodles, green onions, and other veggies . The soups also came with bon chon like kimchi and radish. I want to come back to try their other items soon since I'm having Seoul food withdraws. Check this place out! Very authentic.

I can't believe this has been here at the hmart food court and I'm just trying them now! I had their pork bone broth and it was so hearty and warm. I love that it comes with kimchi and diced radish too. I like that they give the seasonings in small containers so you don't have to go up to ask.

I love the soups here! I've tried the spicy pork, beef stew, and today I had the spicy beef blood soup. It had cubes of beef blood cakes and thinly sliced brisket (I think). The broth is always perfectly piping hot, savory, and flavorful. Each soup comes with three sides, like kimchi, daikon kimchi, and rice. Whenever I'm feeling under the weather or craving soup (which is basically every day), I come here. And the best part? I get to grocery shop after! By the way, this spot is inside the H Mart food court.

Please refer to my last review for my review on their amazing spicy soondae soup. Today I was just craving the soondae so I got the soondae platter. I thought the portion was pretty small for the price, but I did a little more research and found that it's on par with the going price for good quality soondae these days, maybe a bit on the high side. I found it to be really tasty. Regardless I was satisfied with my meal and paired it with the tteokbokki sauce from Jaws Express next door. Also really happy to report that their seollongtang is really good too! Good portion size and they accommodated my request for extra kimchi! I ate it all and cleaned off every last drop of the soup.

For food court food, this place is pretty solid! They offer lots of different traditional Korean soups like seollongtang and kalbitang. I do wish they gave more meat for the prices they're charging, but otherwise a good place to grab dinner after grocery shopping in HMart!

Soondae soup (blood sausage), two types of kimchi, rice and some seasonings on the side.

Another new Korean food experience for me. I ordered the Soondae Gukbap. Order comes with kkakdugi or radish kimchi, baechu-kimchi or napa cabbage kimchi, rice, gochujang, & salt & pepper. First time eating korean blood sausage as well as the gukbap. Both tasted great. The soup also has some chopped up pork intestines, liver & heart in there. You order from the counter, they'll give you a beeper and pick it up from the counter once ready. When you are done, you return your entire tray back to their counter. This is a very casual, somewhat fastfood vibe place since it is set up as a food hall type area inside H Mart.

Moobongri is a Korean chain with a presence in seven states. They have debuted at one of the vendor stalls at the H Mart food court in Kearny Mesa. The menu was less extensive than what was offered at the larger locations around the country. Hot soup bowls were the featured category with over a dozen available varieties. Three BBQ dishes and six A La Carte choices made up the rest of the selections. Intestines and blood sausage were a part of several dishes so it helps to have an adventurous palate. I wasn't in the mood for soup, therefore I asked the cashier about the Soondae Plates. He described the Meat & Veggies version as sausage stuffed with rice and pork blood so I took a risk and ordered it. For the $18 price, I expected rice and/or side dishes (banchan) to be included. Unfortunately, what I received in a takeout container was simply three sausage links cut into pieces. I'm not sure why it was that expensive for sausage only and how that was considered a "plate." The texture of the sausage was fine, but the taste was one you need to be familiar with to enjoy the product. It was difficult for me to consume as I could only finish a few pieces before discarding the rest. If I knew the contents of a plate were simply a variation of blood sausage, then I would have passed and ordered a soup instead.

Sauce itself was delicious and I think the only downside is that there was not as many large pieces of chicken so it was hard to tell what was chicken and what was rice cakes. Friend and husband definitely enjoyed the beef bulgogi. I only tasted a little and it was definitely good. I was really excited about the Hot Stone Bibimbap, but it didn't deliver as much. First off, there is free parking available, just circle around the building until you see a garage entrance for retail parking. Two hours for free! Let me first explain the aesthetics of this place. Clean and modern with mid century feel accented with greenery throughout. Please note that they won't seat you until most of your party is present. We came here for Happy Hour which was from 4-6pm from Tuesday to Sunday! This is fantastic that HH includes the weekend!!!! To start, got a wellness shot which had a meld of juices and ginger. A great drink to ready your palate. For cocktails, I tried the Suika Spritz, which was refreshing! The Absolutely Pho-nomenal definitely tasted like cold Pho broth but spiked. It wasn't my favorite drink, but glad I tried it nonetheless. Of course we ordered the $1 oysters, and ordered all three - Baja, Pacific Northwest, & East Coast. It came with some Asian fusion sauces to dress our oysters. My fave was the Baja as these were the freshest! All three were smooth and non briny. On the HH menu we also tried - Bulgogi Birria Vampiro - Tender meat with bulgogi seasoned beef on top of a tostada. Really liked the meld of the two cultures in this dish. Duck Liver Mousse - Comes with rustic bread & crème fraiche. Very duck forward. I liked this because it was rich with flavor. Stone Crab Taco - Loved the nod to Loganisa in this taco! This was by far, my favorite protein dish on the HH menu!!!! Regular Menu - Mango Nasturium Kimchi Salad - I absolutely loved this vibrant and fresh dish!!!! I had to go back for second and thirds! Shishito Peppers with Bonito Flakes - This was definitely a fun and flavorful dish with lots of umami. Dessert - Hotteok and Vanilla Ice Cream - this was my favorite dessert! The pancakes were flaky and delicious!! Bonbunja Tiramisu - Beware! This has a strong coffee taste. It reminded of the strength and flavor profile of a Vietnamese coffee. I can't believe it's not cheesecake - Definitely a mix of a brûlée but with a cheesecake flavor. Confusing but works lol. We met the executive chef, Kyler, who explained and served some of dishes we ordered. The entire staff was so accommodating and even reminded us if we needed our parking validated! Our water never ran empty and our dishes were promptly taken away as we finished. Definitely a place to visit during HH since they offer amazing food and cocktail choices.
