Tasty and Affordable and with reasonable ambiance around this area. Just little confuse ordering from dining.

literally SO GOOD!! i got tom yum soup, pad thai, and basil fried rise!! all of the food was genuinely incredible. i got medium spice which was wayyy too spicy and i usually can handle spice, but that's okay!!

Neon green curry? What the heck is that? I never had green curry dyed the chicken meat like that? On top of that they gave me maybe 3 pieces of chicken for $17.. never again. Stick to zab Linda if you want authentic Thai.

Came across this spot from Yelp & decided to try it for dinner (dine in). Their service is so good. The food came out so quickly for a party of 3. We had ordered: Crying Tiger, Tom Kha & Pineapple Fried Rice It hit the spot! They definitely don't skimp out on the protein & veggies & prices were fair. They have a few tables inside for dine in. Parking is all street parking.

There's a parking lot! No, it's not in the laundry place lol

Teeny tiny place in OB, I haven't been here in a few years. We were in the area so I thought we'd pick up something for dinner. I couldn't recall not liking it... it's been that long. We ordered the following items - Fried pork belly appetizer- this was almost inedible. It was overcooked and very chewy. We didn't finish this. - Pad Thai with chicken - I usually like pad Thai, but the noodles were very gummy. It was not pleasant trying to eat this. - Thai basil fried rice with chicken - simple, nothing crazy, it was very plain tasting. The chicken throughout the dishes were very dry and overcooked. - Thai tea - I like this, but that was it. Sadly I didn't recall my previous experience eating here before our last visit and save myself a bad meal. :( Not going to forget this time! Staff was nice tho. Maybe the kitchen was having an off night. Maybe I'll try again in a few years. 2025: 18

Mango Curry, papaya salad and Khao Soi Soup
    Cheryl G.

This little hole-in-the-wall wasn't even on my radar until I found it on Yelp. Quite tasty! The woman at the counter who greeted us was very friendly and happy to make suggestions. She was also cute, she offered me a little chopstick napkin apparatus that would make it easier for me to eat with chopsticks, but I don't need that. I still appreciated the gesture! We got the papaya salad, Mango Curry and Khao Soi Soup. Everything was delicious, although I found the mango curry to be a little on the watery side. My favorite item was the Khao Soi soup. It was full of veggies and I liked the contrast of texture between the noodles in the soup and the crunchy noodles on top of the soup. We went for the mock duck because I thought it would be easier to eat that than a chicken leg in the soup. I also really enjoyed the papaya salad and thought it was a fun bonus that it came with two juicy shrimp.

Pretty solid Thai that is friendly and welcoming. You order at the counter and pay right away and your order would be delivered to you to your table. Menu was pretty mainstream Thai with few addition of street food. Prices were very reasonable and the ambiance was cozy and comfortable. I ordered green curry with beef, it was good and will come back to try the other things next time.

It's hard to drive past this place without having the urge to get some Pad Thai. Order at the register and they bring the food out to you. Relaxed, chill inside and outside seating.

Love this spot so much! It's got a warm, chill vibe, and the food slaps! We got the yellow curry with chicken on the lunch special and a side of egg rolls. The food came out so quickly and it was incredible. The curry was such a great flavor, and the eggrolls were fried to perfection. The service was great. Very warm, welcoming and attentive!!! We didn't get them this time, but 10/10 recommend the mango sticky rice and crab wontons.

First time and already a fan. The inside was super clean. The staff was very nice and polite. You place your order at the counter and grab a seat. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The food came out quick and fast. The food was super flavorful and fresh. We got the panang curry with beef. Love the spicy no joke it's pretty spicy. We shared the Pad Kee Mao Roasted Pork, they definitely did not skimp on the roasted pork. Both the dishes we had were very tasty. Thank you Soi OB for a delicious first time. I can't wait to come back and try something else on the menu.

    Pork Boat Noodle Soup
    Susan C.

I ordered delivery through Uber Eats here so I didn't get to see what the ambience or service was like, but the food here was spectacular. Arguably lifechanging. We ordered the Pork Boat Noodle Soup, the Pad Thai, and the Crying Tiger. Pork Boat Noodle Soup is a must order! Such a savory flavorful broth with thin rice noodles, braised pork, and pork meatballs. Veggies included Chinese broccoli, bean sprouts, and green onion. The first sip of the broth was absolutely heavenly. Pad Thai was also delicious! Delightfully bouncy noodles and great flavor. The noodles held well over the course of the delivery. The Crying Tiger was the steak with rice and tamarind hot sauce to dip. So good. The sauce was really a game changer and complemented the steak so well. This is a must-go to Thai spot in San Diego, and I'll definitely have to make another stop here the next time I visit SD.

THAI FOOD FROM THAILAND...and Thai people (5 stars + meteor shower + SpaceX starlinks) Have you ever been to OB, Thailand? Me neither until recently. When the food is THAT good it makes you feel like you been teleported from OB to Bangkok/Chiangmai/Sakhon/Phuket/Krab on every single bite. Took me 7+ years to find my favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego and it's in OB (not in Convoy area). Soi OB is next to a laundry mat in the heart of Ocean Beach. This place is the truth. It's also the sister to SoI 30 but the better sister. - FOOD: F-A-N.tastic - PRICE: affordable and fair - SERVICE: sweet owner - AMBIANCE: cute and simple humble shop :: FOOD:: Had to test run the food with the go-to's and was not disappointment! Cooked per order, fresh tasting, clean. I left feeling full but not heavy afterwards. BEEF JERKY ($12.95) - fried beef jerky served with their house tamarind hot sauce. I never had a bad beef jerky at a Thai resultant but their version has meatier stripes than others. Nearly the same flavor but the portion was very generous. It comes with a side of sticky rice and their house tamarind hot sauce... hot is an understanding! HIGHLY RECOMMEND PAD THAI ($14.95) - rice vermicelli noodles stir fried in tamarind sauce, with egg, bean sprouts, green onion, crushed peanuts, cilantro, and a wedge of lime. I ordered this with tofu because I wanted protein but I wanted a protein that didn't add flavor to the dish so I could throughly taste their execution. OK! This was one of the best Phad Thai's I've had in SD/SoCal. It was perfect! Portion to price, ratio of ingredients, and the balance of flavor. It didn't have that overkill tamarind sauce nor flavor or any taste of fish sauce. Every ingredient folded in so well and complimented each other. It was clean tasting - you'll know what I mean. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Shame on me... I didn't leave room for dessert. That is very unlike me but will make up for it next time. :: SERVICE :: Order food, pay at the front, and seat yourself. The menu has some dishes I don't often see at other Thai restaurants. The owner and chef are from Thailand - everything about this place is authentic! The owner was so sweet and she ran the front and gave me tips since I couldn't make up my mind if I should try what I know or something new. There is a lady in the back doing all the cooking per order (if that be here orders or to-go orders). Small businesses have love and support. Show this place some love and tip generously. I'm about to be a regular and you know me I will eat the entire menu if I need to. I already know my next order and can't wait to come back. JABA APPROVED. Until the next bite.

Came here on a Friday night and there was no wait. You order at the register, find a seat and they bring you your food. The staff was nice and knowledgeable. The food was quick and fresh. First time here and would come back to try something off their menu. Thanks Soi OB for a good first time experience.

I went with one of my girlfriends tonight at about 5:30 PM. We were quickly seated. I ordered a mango lemonade, which came out quite fast and was beautiful. It tasted pretty good too. I asked the server for recommendations on the menu, but she seemed startled by my question, like she was not used to giving recommendations. The two items that she did recommend didn't really sound appealing so I went with Pad See Ew with mock duck. That's one of my go to dishes at a Thai restaurant. I asked not to have any spice level added to my food, but the food came out and was just generally lacking flavor. It was very bland and even though there was a generous portion of vegetables in the dish the mock duck was super mushy. All the places I've ever been to it's sautéed crispy. Also, the the noodles were all stuck together. Like if you put noodles in water to let it boil, but you don't stir them and they just boil like that in a clump. The restaurant was very cute inside. I would be open to trying it again just because I've heard so many good things that I can't believe this is their standard experience.

With a long list of allergies, I can't order anything "as is," and yet every single meal from Sukho Thai is not only safer for me but deeply flavorful and consistently wonderful. Becky deserves the highest praise. Becky always goes above and beyond, remembering my allergies, checking every ingredient, and making sure that I'm ordering food that works for my body while still bringing all the richness and depth of Thai cuisine. Even on days when I forget to ask for something to be removed, Becky catches it immediately and keeps me safer. The level of awareness, care, and follow-through is genuinely life-saving and endlessly appreciated. Becky is warm, attentive, thoughtful, incredibly detail-oriented, and radiates a kindness that makes every experience feel welcoming and supported. Every interaction with Becky leaves me feeling cared for, respected, and genuinely valued as a customer. The food itself? Absolutely incredible. The chicken fried rice is one of my favorites -- the perfect balance of textures and flavors. Each bite brings together tender, well-seasoned chicken; fluffy rice with that subtle smoky wok aroma; crisp vegetables that still have a slight crunch; and seasoning that hits that sweet spot between savory, aromatic, and comforting. It's one of those dishes that feels simple on the surface but sings with layers of flavor the moment you start eating. The ginger and salmon stir fry is bright, fragrant, and beautifully prepared. The ginger adds just the right zing, the vegetables stay vibrant and fresh, and the salmon comes out tender, flaky, and infused with the sauce in all the best ways. The cashew stir fry is another flavorful amazing dish -- a perfect harmony of crisp vegetables, roasted cashews, savory sauce, and protein that soaks up all that flavor. Every bite is crunchy, warm, and satisfying. Their egg rolls are some of the best around: crispy on the outside, piping hot inside, filled with savory goodness, and perfectly paired with their dipping sauce. The Panang salmon always catches my eye -- beautifully cooked salmon nestled in a rich, creamy, aromatic panang curry. The sauce is silky, fragrant with coconut and spices, slightly sweet, slightly spicy, and the kind of dish you daydream about afterward. Such vivid and beautiful colors as well. My friend raves nonstop about their mixed seafood stir fries -- generous portions, fresh seafood, bold flavors, and consistently delicious. They also make excellent Thai teas, including a vegan version that is so thoughtful and so appreciated. It's creamy, refreshing, and delicious without sacrificing flavor. The service overall is always warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. It feels even better than how people describe family. The chefs clearly know what they're doing -- every dish comes out tasting like it was prepared with intention and pride. The entire team creates an experience that keeps me coming back again and again. And I love their outdoor patio -- shaded, spacious, and comfortable. It's a relaxing space that makes the meal even better. Thank you, Becky, and thanks to everyone at Sukho Thai for making every visit safe, delicious, and full of kindness. Here are my musings, the Tom Yum soup was good. The crab rangoon should really be better suited to the crunch of wontons (but nice try). The fried pork belly was a little pricey for the amount received since this only came with sauces and no rice. The Drunken noodles were fine but it should also have an option of vegetables to add instead of tofu, chicken or shrimp. Overall, I might try them again sometime if I am in the area. Nothing still beats my go to place. But as Yelpers go, it's always nice to try new places.
