I tried this place since it's close by. I didn't have high expectations for the food, but overall it was good. I would give it 4 stars because there were an insane amount of fruit flies everywhere and the place seemed dirty / unkept overall. We ordered tzatziki and pita bread for an appetizer, which was good. I ordered the fish and chips which were also good. Nothing really stands out about this place and I don't think I would go again.

The worst Mediterranean experience I've ever had in dc, omg idk where to begin. It was a delivery order, it didn't come with utensils when I clearly asked for them. Second, please just take a look at how the food are delivered in the box, every single dish I ordered was a disaster, they looked like they were cooked by someone who just learned cooking at home. Steak Crostini came with four pieces of small steaks with three pieces of baguettes and lettuce all over the place. Their bread for the hummus must've been from two different batches, because half of them are rock hard and half of them are soft. I believe the pictures are more self explanatory, just take a look at their Salmon Pesto for more than twenty bucks. Please be careful ahead of ordering from this place.

Came here for happy hour. The HH is from 5-7pm. They have $4.50 beer, $4.00 wine, $3.50 rail drinks and 1/2 off small plates. The bartender was very nice and very kind. I would return. They do need a official form of ID if you'd like to drink. The food was good. The flaming cheese and calamari were the highlights.

I give 4 stars just for being comfortable friendly bar. You walk in here and you will never feel stranger or alone in the city. The bartender welcomes you and as soon as your name is recognized (give your ID to him or say your name if he asks), you will be introduced to everyone (Friendly faces) at the bar. Then you know you are in for good time. You can just watch 80s or 90s movie playing against another TV playing NFL game.. or you can start talking to anyone sitting next to you.. or you can just talk to the bartender.. Food wasn't great (just one I had...) but maybe they have better ones on the menu. Small selections but good draft beer. Come by when you don't know what to do with yourself. PS: Monday: 1/2 priced bottle of wine and if you leave any, they let you take home leftover. Daily happy hour specials.. such as $2.50 PBR... and ask the bartender :)

Even the Polpette was extremely delicious, especially for something as simple as meatballs. Now for the main course, the 40-Layer Lasagna was amazing. I will say, though, that after a while, the flavor became so rich that it started to feel a little tiring. The Rigatoni alla Carbonara was also super good. I actually ended up switching with my partner so we could both enjoy the rest of each other's dishes. For dessert, we got the Crème Brûlée. I'd rate it a 4/5. The flavor was different from a traditional crème brûlée, but it was still delicious. Overall, everything was really good, and I would definitely come back to try some of the other dishes!

I came with a large party and we had a private area in the back to ourselves. They have many good options on their menu. There's a little something for everyone. From the antipasti menu, I enjoyed their Verde salad, the Carciofi, and the Hamachi Crudo. The hamachi was a highlight; it was so fresh and bright. For mains, we got the pomodoro and bolognese pastas. These were alright. The pasta itself was a little harder than al dente unfortunately. But the flavor of the sauces were yummy. I loved the dessert! We had the chocolate cake and the creme brulee. These were among the best bites of the night. Restrooms were large and mostly clean. Wasn't expecting them to be as ornate (or as dark inside) as they were. Downside is that the restrooms are right next to the kitchen area so wait staff were constantly moving and I was worried about tripping someone.

The crab purse app was sinful! Full of the juiciest large lump crab meat I've enjoyed in decades. And the Bolognese Lasagna was simply divine! Truthfully, I had no desire after a long workday to even have a cocktail, but the waiter was able to recommend a great glass of red wine to compliment what was already ordered and he was 100% correct. Sorry, I can't recall the vintage, but it brought out the flavor of the Sunday sauce, spectacularly! And while I did manage to leave room for chocolate mousse cake for dessert, I have a better suggestion! The hostess told us we likely wouldn't sit until 9:45 so I inquired about the bar and the manager quickly stepped in to put us on a waitlist. Since the restaurant is connected to a food hall of sorts, she recommended we grab a drink there while we wait. Shortly after we got our drink, we received notification of an opening and were seated by 8:15. We had the burrata appetizer, Ragú x 2, and the seafood fra diavolo. The burrata was one of the best I've had since they serve it with pesto, pine nuts, and garlic bread. It was truly divine! The Ragú was not far behind. Incredible flavor and a generous portion. The seafood dish had a nice kick and had plenty of seafood, which is not common as of late. All dishes were also priced reasonably for the quality you received. As we sat at the bar, we had pleasant conversation with the bartender and finished our meal with a small cannoli that really sealed the deal. If you're looking for excellent Italian food in DC without breaking the bank, look no further than Caruso's grocery! Found it to be a bit louder than I would've liked but I think it was because of the spacing between tables. Came toward the end of the night and got seated and welcomed right away. I ordered the polpette, meatballs to start. They were quite tasty, but the sauce was a bit watery. Think that's just because the meatballs themselves were pretty juicy. Heard the focaccia was a hit, so asked for some of that. I was told they didn't have any left. Which was weird, because then another server came and asked if I wanted bread. I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty. The Drunken love with pepperoni and vodka sauce was to die for. Their pizza is like a mix between NY style and Neapolitan. The crust is crispy and puffy.
