I was really pleasantly surprised because I have low expectations of hotel bars, especially when it comes to value, but this place did not disappoint. First of all the vibe at The Line is incredible. Love that people could bring their dogs. I asked right at the host stand if I could get a table near an outlet and they led me to the exact right place. I ended up sitting there working for hours - so much so that I hit the tail end of brunch and the very beginning of their early weekend happy hour. My server was lovely. I will say the one flaw was that service got a little lax during my time but, to be fair, I was there at a weird time working for an extended period and not really doing a normal meal so I was probably a confusing customer and they did a great job of not making me feel pressured or rushed. I mainly just felt nice and comfy. Prices were reasonable for DC and I will day I was super happy with my food, including its value. At brunch I ordered eggs in purgatory which was pretty spicy and came with foccacia. They brought me more foccacia witbout my needing to ask. I'd say that of what I ate this was probably the weakest item just because it was so spicy it overpowered a bit and I didn't love the flavor of the eggs, which could have been jammier, but overall still a solid dish. Everything else was fire. I also got a latke that was a legit latke- I say this as an Ashekrnazic Jew who grew up with the whole kitchen smelling like oil for all 8 days of channukah. It came with a chive sour cream and pickled onion that elevated it while staying true to its...you know. Jewiness. At $3 this is kind of a hack, order 5. Then lol, an hour or two later I ordered from the happy hour menu. I got house made chips with creamy dip. A very ample portion. The fried artichokes were insane. Get these for sure. Little flavor punches with a nice dipping sauce, fried but not too fried, and they came fresh and hot. I couldn't finish them in top of all the other food I stuffed down my face hole because the portion was shockingly generous. And then, be still my heart, I got a decent old fashioned for $9 at happy hour pricing. Have you ever heard of such a thing? My only complaint here is that it was served with regular small ice cubes instead of a big giant one. But also...$9! So. I was very happy. I am not in that neighborhood a lot and only happened to stumble in bc I had a nearby appointment but I had such a nice experience I might go out of my way to come here to do work again. read more

Such a cool spot. It is located inside of Line DC hotel. Hotel itself used to be a church. So Tue architecture of the building is very interesting. The restaurant is viby. And service is good. Food Is also good.fresh and well cooked. Menu offers good variety. We went with a farm salad. Which was delicious. I asked for no goat cheese. But it came with goat cheese. Ok. Burger wrapped in lettuce was served as i ordered. Almost - i asked rare. It came out very medium more than rare. Plus it's a bit small and thin. Tons of fries in the side. With Parmesan cheese. Not a fan. Plus why so much. When the burger is fairly small. My friend ordered special - seafood lasagna i believe. It was delicious! I would go back just for the vibe itself. Adorable little coffee shop with outstanding drinks, friendly baristas, and great vibes. I was initially a bit skeptical of No Goodbyes when I learned that they were inside The Line Hotel, but this tiny Adams Morgan coffee counter has absolutely earned its spot in my rotation of DC caffeine fixes. The coffee shop is located immediately inside the front door of the hotel, where you'll be warmly greeted by both the receptionist and a pair of baristas. They have a slightly limited menu, but they can make all the espresso classics and have a variety of dairy and non-dairy milks available. Their beans are phenomenal -- the coffee is super rich and almost velvety, and it has a lovely nutty, slightly chocolatey undertone. Once you secure your drink, you can either take it inside the hotel lobby or to the outdoor patio. Going into the lobby feels a bit odd, but I promise it has a great ambiance; there's a ton of comfy seating, and it's a great, quiet place to do work or read a book. read more

It serves as a hub all day with a "Wework"vibe where you find many people working on their laptops, engaged in meetings or friends just catching up. Cutest thing of all this location is dog friendly, with two decorative pieces showcasing Polaroid pics of the dogs that often visits the shop as they have dog treats there as well. The food and coffee here is great and filling. The croissants tasted so fresh with a great texture where it's not too thick and not too light as it was just right. The breakfast sandwich did not skimp on the egg in the middle as it would take me about 3 eggs to make such a size of a sandwich. The potatoes that came with it, also generous in portion and cooked through to perfection. In the evening the coffee shop closes and the bar opens up with a wide variety of drinks for their happy hour and bites! Highly recommended and will be back when visiting again. read more

I had a solo brunch date and a young lady took care of me and I hate I can't remember her name. She made the perfect fluffy mimosa. (If it helps she wears a mask-smart) Also had Andrew as my bartender and each cocktail he was extremely knowledgeable of. Even a drink I mentioned that other mixologist never heard of. This is the perfect meal..if you're a victorian child with no tastebuds!!! The hangover skillet was absolutely WACK. There was 0 seasoning, not even salt or pepper. Straight up just ingredients slapped together in a slop skillet. The lime was actually diabolical. The acid combined with an IRON SKILLET made everything taste like puke, yet it was the only flavor on the entire plate. We asked for salt/pepper/seasoning and they gave us some house made hot sauce that was actually a hate crime. Insanely sugary and also spicy yet maintaining their theme of no flavor. Nice. This is just for the coffee shop. I ordered a sugar cookie iced latte and my friend got a cardamom and rose iced latte with oat milk. We said we'd be having our drinks in the hotel and I specifically asked where it was ok for us to sit which I thought would confirm we weren't taking it to go. When our drinks were ready they were listed as to go and we weren't given the glasses other customers had who were also sitting. Also my drink was labeled as a vanilla latte which wasn't what was confirmed when I ordered. My drink wasn't the best but the cardamom and rose latte was good. Only thing with the cardamom rose latte was it came to $10 because of the $1 per syrup, and oat milk was another $1. The entrance is on Euclid St. and after walking up the stairs, the restaurant is straight ahead. It was difficult to find the entrance and we completely missed the standing sign outside. My friend and I had reservations to come here at 8PM on Thursday. We ended up sightseeing a lot earlier so we stopped by around 6. The hostesses were understanding and showed us to an open table. There were a lot of open seats at this time and most people dressed casually. I think this would be a great place for a first date or just to catch up with friends. I loved the tall window in the restaurant - it reminded me of a train station. The mussels were soft and not too small. The sauce was rich and complimented the mussels perfectly. We also loved the bread that accompanied the dish for dipping. Oysters were also super soft. My friend loved the sautéed onions I believe that were in the cup. Neither of us had a stomach ache at the end of the night so I call that a win since it's always risky ordering raw seafood from a new place. Bolognese was perfection. I loved the chewiness and texture of the home made noodles and the sauce and meat were not overpowering. I had eaten a lot already that day but still ended up finishing my entire plate. The waitresses helped me pay in secret for my friend's birthday and even offered us complementary champagne. We both genuinely loved the champagne. My friend asked to take a photo with the "No Goodbyes" sign in the coffee shop but the hostess shared that the shop had closed for the day. I wish we got our hostess' name but she seriously made our day/my friend's birthday because she came back later to surprise us with "No Goodbyes" labeled merch such as stickers and pins. On a mission to find the best spots for working remote in DC. This location is definitely in the top 5. If you have a membership with SoHo it gives the same vibes for their lounge area. The location sits in The Line Hotel and they are affiliated with SoHo House without the membership. They even shared the same hand soap and lotions. Large working area with tasty cofee bites and pastries. There's free WiFi and the area is quiet like a library (lol). There is a bar area serving alcohol and small menu items around lunch time and closes at 10pm. Highly consider if you need to getaway from home while working or need to plan a business meeting. This space is actually a solid spot to get work done as there is a large working area, free Wifi, plenty of outlets, and it's quiet but plenty of opportunity for people watching in this hotel. It's a slightly confusing set up but there is a cafe upon entering where you can grab coffee/pastries and then take a seat inside. They also have a restaurant/ bar area. They serve a brunch menu on the weekends from 10-3pm. I happened to come in on a Saturday at this time and decided to try out the menu. i got a "Reserved" table and ended up having an incredible brunch here. I ordered the duck confit hash which had crispy duck pieces, carrots, potatoes, and 2 sunny side up eggs. Delish! Definitely check this place out! read more

Inside the Line Hotel in Adams Morgan is a little coffee shop called No Goodbyes. Stopping in on a Friday morning around 9:15 a.m., there was a long line, but it moved quickly. They sell an array of pastries and coffee drinks, but I opted for the sweet cheese danish and a cardamom latte. The danish was very moist and tasty. The latte was well made and creamy! Service was efficient and there are plenty of places to sit inside the hotel lobby. read more

Came here shortly after getting engaged with a small group of friends as we were staying in the hotel. We were sat by the hostess, who was annoyed that we did not have a reservation (I would rather her just turn us away, honestly). The kitchen closes at 10, which seems early for a hotel.. but I digress. We tried to order food at 9:50 and were told we could not (fine, understandable). The waiter was insanely rude about it and even mocked us when we asked if we could snag some bread. We ordered a round of cocktails and placed an order for a second round. When we were placing the order for a second round, my friend jokingly said to the waiter, "These two got engaged a few hours ago; how about a shot for them?!" and the waiter responded, "Ha yeah, not gonna happen, we don't do free drinks." Thought the assumption that we wanted them for free was rude enough, but boy was I wrong. My friend said, "I don't have a problem paying for a round of shots if you'll just surprise us with something good." The waiter brought back the shots, and they were completely undrinkable. I'm fairly confident that if they were spilled on the floor, they would strip off a layer of sealant. We decided to finish our cocktails and order pizza to eat in our room since we were hungry. The pizza arrived before we could finish our cocktails, so I brought the boxes to the table (did not open them) and continued to finish up before we left. As soon as I sat down with the pizza, the waiter immediately ran over and told us, "Oh, absolutely not. You cannot have that in here; we are a restaurant,"..... a restaurant that is not serving food. We were not eating the pizza. I can say that I will not return. In my mind, I chose an independent boutique hotel for good service. I know of MANY other hotels in DC that would be thrilled to have me as a patron. read more

Lots of nice places to sit and books all over the place you can pick up and read if you don't already have something to do. We came here for our friends' engagement dinner and loved it. They were super accommodating to our group of 12. Located inside the line hotel. Valet parking $30. Street parking limited but available. Great ambiance for a classy dinner and date. We loved all the dishes here! Family style so meant to be shared. No goodbyes had an unique twist to most of their dishes. Wonderful place to have a meal. We had brunch. It's also the ideal spot for a coffee as many neighbours brought their pups along. Staff was pleasant and welcoming. Chef Phil Marzelli presented creative dishes for us. Pastries were served fresh and warm as they should be. Lemon infused donuts were delicious with a tart center to balance their sweet glaze. Salmon and Lox was served with salmon that had herbs dusted on the surface. The lightly toasted bagel was fresh and had great consistency. I've been wanting to dine here since they opened. I've been to the bar, the cafe but never made it to their restaurant. Being back in DC, I treated myself to staying at the hotel (check out my review for The Line DC) and made a reservation for dinner with some friends. I learned from a very lovely server that they moved the restaurant from the second (mezzanine?) level to the ground floor. They made a few changes (got rid of the long community seating tables) and put in more dining tables. I checked in with hostess before dinner and (she could use a lesson or two in hospitality) grabbed a drink while I waited for friends. I ordered an Aperol spritz from a very friendly and professional server and I'm so glad I did. She informed me that they make their own apertif instead of using Aperol. It was great - less bitter than Aperol - and refreshing. We were seated in one of the corner booths. I love the decor and what they did in this space. It's a unique dining experience because the ceilings are so high and yet it feels intimate. You're in a lounge and restaurant together in the same area. The menu had several gluten free and dairy free options. Dennis was our server and he was great! He recommended the wings and the beet salad which are both gluten and dairy free (no cheese requested), both were tasty. My friends ordered the burger and oysters and were pretty happy. They also ordered an old fashion and black walnut something (can't remember the name) and loved it. We'd come back, especially for the drinks and the food service! read more

Everyone enjoyed their food but nothing was exceptional and per DC standards overpriced. The 2 things that lead to 2 star rating: They auto charged us gratuity for a party of 7. That's fair but communicate that in advance clearly on your menu and then the second thing is the breakfast sandwich gives you the choice of bacon for $2 and for turkey sausage $2. A member in our party got both but when the bill came the turkey sausage was billed at $7. When I asked the waiter he said they can't ring up 2 extra meat options on the breakfast sandwich so he had to ring one up as a side for $7. Again he should have said something. read more

I ordered the burger and it was cooked to a perfect medium and the fries on the side were magnificent! My only gripe would be that the Bloody Mary was a bit pricey at $17 (albeit it was quite good). Our server DiMona (sorry if name is spelled wrong) was excellent! And we would definitely come back to be served by her. Only her fourth day but she was humble, knowledgeable, warm, and inviting. She sold us on the dessert off the lover's package and she sincerely listened to our remarks on it. Spent the day working at No Goodbyes. It's got great seating, lots of outlets, and strong wifi which are all hard the come by. It's a little dim inside which tired my eyes out after a while. I had a London fog and a blueberry muffin in the morning which were both great. The blueberry muffin had a crumb top I'll be dreaming about for a while and was not skimpy on the blueberries. For a late lunch I ordered their herb salad to go which was super disappointing for $15. It was pretty bland, I couldn't taste any of the unnamed herbs (which is what I was most excited about) and the veggies (beats and radishes) and the apples were cut in odd shapes that made it pretty to look at but hard to eat! The distribution of ingredients in a bite of a salad is important!! The cheese was delicious but was broken up in tiny pieces over the whole thing so I couldn't rly taste it. This salad is also seriously lacking some protein, even just some nuts. I expect to be hungry again in an hour... 3 stars on real food. 4 on cafe and ambiance. read more

Truly fantastic experience. Food (5/5). We started with Chesapeake oysters, which were some of the freshest oysters and I've ever had. We moved on to the hush doggies. The sausage inside was incredible and the batter was sweet to balance the savory flavor of the sausage. For dinner, we shared two daily specials. First up was the Maryland crab cake, which was exceptional. Sweet, buttery, and the other ingredients didn't overwhelm the crab. While I didn't love the spicy slaw it came with, the crab cake alone justified the dish. The star of the night was the Virginia mahi, which was one of the freshest, sweetest, best-textured pieces of fish I'd ever eaten. We got the side of cornbread, which was the perfect blend of sweet and salty -- but it was also huge; way too much for two people. We had a peach crostata for dessert which was also divine. Service (5/5). Despite being busy, our server was extremely attentive and willing to talk us through every dish and make honest suggestions. Atmosphere (4.5/5). The LINE is a trendy hotel and the space is hip and well-appointed. While I didn't love being effectively in a hotel lobby, it was calm and I never felt like bothered. Overall, fantastic experience. No Goodbyes is an amazing experience from the moment you walk in! Being in an old church, the actual restaurant was stunning. It was simultaneously comfortable and formal, a place where two people -- one in a suit, and another in a t-shirt -- would be equally welcome. The vibe was upscale without being pretentious or stuffy. Truly a fun atmosphere. The service was truly spectacular. Our server was funny, attentive, and helpful -- truly one of the best servers I have ever had. All of the food and drinks came out decently quickly without any lengthy wait between courses. She regularly checked up on us and was able to provide insightful recommendation based on our tastes. We ordered two drinks: the Stirred Word and the Linen Sheets. The Stirred Word was a delicious, spirit-forward cocktail that was balanced with each of the ingredients. While it was strong, nothing was overpowering. The Linen Sheets was a smoky cocktail because of the mezcal, but was also perfectly balanced. Both were awesome, but the Linen Sheets is probably one of the better cocktails I have ever had so I would definitely recommend you check it out. We ordered the catfish hush puppies, Brussels sprouts, and chicken wings for appetizers. Split between 2 people that were pretty hungry, the portions were very generous and the three apps were a good amino of food. While everything was great, the catfish hush puppies were genuinely outstanding -- everybody should order them when going to No Goodbyes. For the main entree, we ordered the rabbit. As rabbit normally is, it was very lean and not a particularly large amount of meat. The flavor was exceptional, but the actual meat was slightly tough. All of the other items on the plate (onions, mushrooms, and potatoes) were amazing and really elevated the dish. A little confused why it was the most expensive item on the menu, but it was still tasty. I would probably go with a different item next time, but that might have more to do with my distaste for rabbit than how it was prepared at No Goodbyes. No Goodbyes has a relaxed location and a chef who is passionate about locally grown food.  The staff was very, very friendly and helpful which also made the meal relaxing and enjoyable.  The appetizer of ember -roasted sweet potatoes was so much more than expected.  This clearly shows the kitchen's love of and facility with vegetables as did the comfortingly cheesy ramp malfadini.  Both dishes were tasty with an added bit of heat or crunch that made them stand out.  It was a shame that the entrees and the dessert lacked this great flavor kick.  The pork belly was good but would have really benefitted from more of that mustard and the brisket was not as tender as hoped and seemed to have an odd bit of a chemical taste.  Again, we wished the BBQ and other sauces had been more bold.  The semi-fredo dessert also lacked flavor except for one or two bites that seemed to have a concentration of something that made it so much better before it went back to bland.  So, what started off with a delicious bang, slowly washed out into a whimper.  Again, we really appreciated the human element of the evening as well as the location.  Maybe we just need to request that the kitchen kick it up a notch if we return for another dinner. read more

The Fried Chicken & Waffles is one of the most delicious things I have eaten in a very long time! The crust was so perfectly seasoned and crunchy. It was the perfect balance between slightly sweet & spicy. The chicken was boneless, and perfectly cooked - aka not dry at all. The waffle was more on the softer side, and it came with maple syrup. I also got a cardamom bun that was so delicious. Soft on the inside, and had the spiced sugar on the outside. I don't see cardamom buns often at all, so had to get it while staying at the Line. Breakfast was so delicious that my friend and I had to get the same thing the next day. I was very sad though that my Fried chicken & waffles was not nearly as delicious as it was the first time I got it. The chicken wasn't nearly as crunchy and that really threw off the whole dish for me. Actually, the bottom was soggy and t wasn't dry but a bit rubbery. It was harder to cut through some parts so I was constantly checking if each piece was cooked through (it was). It was much busier on Monday (memorial day) morning than on Sunday, so maybe that's why it wasn't as good.. My friend got the sunrise breakfast on both days and she said they were both equally delicious. For breakfast, you order at the cafe in the front and they bring your food. Service was friendly, and the food took about 20 minutes to come out. read more
