This is a super cute cocktail bar with multiple floors. The drinks are strong but good. The ice makes it hard to drink so I had to wait for it to melt a bit. The bar is so aesthetic and the posters are interesting and funny to look at. Seating was hard to find on a Sunday evening. The halloumi and fries and wrap we got were so yummy and flavorful as well.
4.5/5 for food The food here was delicious! I would go back just to eat. The drink was decent but it was very expensive and not worth the price in my opinion (especially for happy hour pricing). The service was good and pretty quick for a Friday night. The seating inside is limited but they do have outside seating with heat lamps as well.
Still my favorite bar in DC. Coolest vibe, great DJs, I love when it's warm and they open up the front for an indoor/ outdoor vibe. The decor is beautiful. The Turkish coffee is delish.
For drinks I got the Janissary Corps & the Lebanese No. 1. For food we got the Hummus bi Tahina, Fried Halloumi, & the Labneh with Garlic. One of the best cocktails I've had in the district is the Janissary Corps. It was very smooth and frothy but also so strong. Yum. The pita chips were fresh and hot but I wish I could say the same about the Halloumi. The flavor was there but it was chewy and difficult to cut into. I would have liked it to be warmer and softer. I have no complaints for the dips-- other than them needing heavier bowls lol.
I recognize I may be getting beyond Green Zone's target demographic, but it's still a favorite place for a pre drink and especially a post dinner drink and chat. Love the incredible menu of cocktails inspired by the entire Middle East region. Definitely need/want to try more food here. Also very hard to order anything other than the blended mint lemonade, even in cold temps.

We had faloodeh swizzling (good, you definitely taste the cardamom, fyi), the Lebanese no. 1 (well balanced and citrus forward), and the old fashioned. We then sprung for full priced drinks. I adored the jun blossom! So complex and tasty! My friend enjoyed the turc noir. Awesome place! But sometimes quite crowded due to popularity! Make a reservation when possible.

There is a great selection of Middle Eastern inspired art throughout the two levels of the bar - all very nice to take in as you explore. We sat on the 2nd floor and were instantly served by the enthusiastic staff. The waiter was very helpful and recommended us the signature Mint Lemonade and the TGZ Vodka Soda. The TGZ was one of the BEST drinks I have ever had! As a lover of fruity/slightly sweet drinks, this was the perfection combination of pineapple foam, a fruity base, and quality vodka. The Mint Lemonade was also incredibly refreshing and had stunning green color! Very well-blended with a slight herbal taste that paired perfectly with the lemonade base. Will 100% be back to get the TGZ and try other drinks/food on their menu!
Love this place for their unique and tasty drinks but also their small food plates are savory as well! I really liked their PomArak shot and halloumi especially. Vibes are chill outside but it's first come first serve for bar and outdoor stool area - need reservations for the seats outside. Service was friendly and fast. Definitely need to come again!
Came here for drinks with friends. We got there right as they opened and within 20 minutes the place was pretty packed. We tried a number of different cocktails and they were all delicious. My favorite was the mint lemonade with gin. Our server was super helpful for deciding what drinks to order especially since a lot of them contain ingredients we were less familiar with. Great cocktail bar!
I finally visited the Green Zone after hearing so much about it. My friends and I went for happy hour and first of all it's so packed both upstairs and downstairs, there was barely any room to stand and finding a seat was impossible. Definitely get there earlier if you're planning to sit. The happy hour isn't anything special, $2 off cocktails that are overpriced to begin with. My mint lemonade was ok, it was icy instead of smooth which is not my favorite but the taste was very refreshing and light. We did not eat anything, but I have heard that the apps are good. Overall, Green Zone is a cool spot but not the best value for me personally so I doubt I'll be back. I will say though, that it was very cool to see their collection of spirits from all over the world. I've never been to a bar with Guyanese rum on display.
Green Zone has become one of my go-to spots in Adams Morgan, especially when the weather is nice. Do I wish they opened before 5 p.m. on weekdays, particularly on a beautiful Friday afternoon? Absolutely. Do they have to rearrange their business hours around my personal desires? Apparently not. The mint lemonade is phenomenal and honestly one of the main reasons I keep coming back. After one particularly terrible day at work, I decided to conduct what I can only describe as a tour of the mint lemonade: vodka, gin, and rum. All three were delicious, but fortunately, or unfortunately, vodka still wins. I'm a vodka girl, so perhaps the competition was rigged from the beginning. I don't drink tequila, so that contestant remains untested. Food-wise, I love the labneh with garlic and cucumbers, and the za'atar fries are SO good. It's the perfect combination of snacks and drinks when I want to settle in for a bit. And the service has consistently been phenomenal every time I've been here. Great drinks, great food, wonderful people, and an all-around easy neighborhood spot that I'm very happy to have nearby. Now, about that Friday afternoon opening time... read more

Great experience, other than fact our table wasn't ready at reserved time. It's a small footprint so that's not surprising. Servers & door host were all very nice. Food was really good with interesting choices new to us. Fun to try some arak liquor, anise-y. Nice dim lighting and cozy atmosphere. Liked the peaceful 'green zone' politically reactive motto. Great central location. We stayed at a nearby hostel & walked here. read more

Came here for drinks with friends. We got there right as they opened and within 20 minutes the place was pretty packed. We tried a number of different cocktails and they were all delicious. My favorite was the mint lemonade with gin. Our server was super helpful for deciding what drinks to order especially since a lot of them contain ingredients we were less familiar with. I've been here for drinks but came here for the first time for food. Drinks: the lemonade with gin is amazing. I could easily down like 10 of them (although they can be strong so don't do that). One of my fave mixed drinks in DC for sure. Food is mostly shareable type food with a couple wraps and sandwiches available. The labneh was amazing! So many spices and paired perfectly with cucumbers. Very garlicky which I love. This is a must have if you come here The fries were great with a nice dipping sauce. The seasoning on these is great. Also shared some olives. Had the Muhammara which is a slightly spicy spread. Overall a great small meal and drinks place! Check it out! read more
This is a fantastic bar! We knew we had to come here once we saw that it was a middle eastern bar and we're so glad we stopped in. It was super busy when we came, but we were able to snag a spot upstairs. The cocktails were very tasty and I really enjoyed trying arak for the first time (I love anise-flavored drinks). We also tried the labneh, boureg, and the shawarma sandwich and they were all delicious; the labneh was a nice compliment to the cocktails and the shawarma was super flavorful and very tasty. Service was very good despite it being so busy and they did a good job of keeping up with everyone. It's a fun bar with great drinks and great food, so we'll definitely be coming back the next time we're in the area! read more
Good drinks, food was meh. standard bar fare with a middle eastern twist. I got the carrots and boureg and didn't take pics because they weren't particularly remarkable. carrots had a lemony spiced marinade which would have been easy enough to recreate at home. Boureg were good, nice and crunchy but would have liked more or bigger ones for the pice. I get that it's upscale but the price should come closer to reflecting the quality of the bar snacks. Bartender deserves 5 stars. Did a great job refilling my water and garnishing the drinks. They looked and tasted wonderful. The mint lemonade is must try. If you want a second drink, the rest of the menu is pretty solid as well so order something that you would like. I got the jun blossom and it had a grape-y taste with elements of orange. I did not taste the apricot. The chilled glasses here are CHILLED. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for cold drinks. I came in the middle of winter and was shivering. read more
The Green Zone has one of my favorite drinks ever: Mint lemonade! The bar tenders are so nice and always have great recommendations. I had been there for happy ours, but we went there on a Friday night and we had no idea the upstairs bar got so lit over the weekend! Dj is on point, great music! Only complaint is it can get pretty crowded upstairs, but we managed. We want to come back to try the food! read more

The drinks were amazing! We sat on their covered patio and even though it was windy and raining the wind guards made it feel great. Told our server we were going to split a third drink and she was nice enough to put it into two separate glasses without us saying anything. 100% would go back. read more

Came to the green town to meet my friends on a Friday night. It was busy and there was a line to get inside, but luckily there was outdoor seating. For food, we ordered hummus, chicken shawarma, and fries. Everything was really delicious especially the fries the dipping sauce that comes with it is so good. And the drinks are very tasty as well and they offer a wide selection of cocktails. The service was also good as well and very attentive. Definitely swing by if you're in the Adams Morgan area. read more

This place is popping all the time! We tried several times to grab a table or bar seat without any luck, until we came on a Sunday at 4:30pm. The first floor was packed deep but the second floor had a couple of seats at the bar and against the walls. Drank cocktail after cocktail - all delicious, and yes, get the popular mint lemonade. Excellent service, even as the bar got even more crowded. I'm no longer a youngin, so it's not worth waiting in line outside to get in, but visit during a less busy afternoon or night, and you won't regret it. read more
Very unique and interesting drinks! My friend found this spot and said we should check it out, so we went on a Friday night. I got there just before 6 and spoke to the bouncer who told me that the outside area can be reserved but inside was first come first serve. We did not have a reservation so I went inside to see if there were any seats available. There are two levels with a bar and some high tops as well as some seats along the back near the stairs. I was able to snag some stools. Ordering is very much like any bar, there's no table service and you just go up to the bartender to place both food and drink orders. Considering how crowded it was, the bartender was quick to take my order and get our drinks. The Green Zone is known for the mint lemonade which is basically a frozen mojito but with lemon instead of lime and it's divine, perfect for a summer day. I also got the toufan which is fruity and refreshing. My friend got the janissary, which she really enjoyed, and the jun blossom, which was a little to strong and sweet for her taste. We also got the hummus and labneh to share, both were delicious. A few notes: -it is a bar so seats are limited and it can get pretty loud. We happened to be there on St Patrick's Day and it was starting to get rowdy when we left. -there's a 20% service fee, which I think is a little steep for drinks and the appetizers we ordered read more

I came here on a Saturday at 5:30 pm with my mom and we were able to get seats right away. They have two levels, both levels having a bar, and they have live music upstairs on Friday and Saturday nights. We ordered the mint lemonade and janissary corps, which I believe are their two most popular drinks. They also have a drink called the "fuck Trump punch" which we didn't order this time, lol. They were both delicious, my favorite was the janissary corps. For a bar, they have a pretty large food menu. We ordered the fried halloumi and baklava with clotted cream- both were delicious. My mom said it was some of the best baklava she's had. The service was good, the bartenders were friendly and everything came out fast. This place is always busy, and if you come late at night, there is usually a line to get in. read more
Had drinks and small plates here with friends. The inside space is a tight and there is limited bar seating. The upstairs gets hot and wasn't comfortable on our visit. The outdoor seating is nice, and I liked it best-- they have space heaters for when the weather is cold. The staff was helpful, and the cocktails were well made. The Mint Lemonade and More cocktail was great, and I would get it again. The Toufan cocktail was a nice rendition of a Hurricane. The Batata Harra Fries and Labneh with Garlic were pricey and underwhelming, I'll probably pass on food next time. read more
