This cafe and its pastries are quite instagram/photo worthy c: I tried to arrive early on a Sunday morning, parked at 9:49am and saw there was already a bit of a line outside. Luckily, it seemed like they opened their doors around 9:52 so folks were being let in to get their pastries early. There were a lot of staff members there to help and the ordering process was pretty smooth - When you get up to the counter, a staff member will ask what you would like, then you pay at the end of the line. It was so hard to decide what I wanted - there were so many good-looking pastries! The price of the pastries averages around ~$7ish. Here's what I got to-go: * Spiral croissants: They limit you to 3 spiral donuts per customer, one of each flavor. Highly recommend airfrying or warming them up at home! They were flaky and the cream was decent, but my family and I can't say we were blown away. It was a fun experience trying them but I think they're a bit overhyped and I won't be waiting in line for them again. * Savory Pastries (Leek Parmesan & Spinach Feta): These were the highlight of my experience! Sooo good~ both flaky and very flavorful. I will absolutely be coming back for these. They're a must-get in my opinion! * Apricot Galette: Not too sweet and the apricot added the perfect amount of freshness * Napoleon: It was my first time having this and it was delicious! Decided to treat myself in a Thursday afternoon. Got to the location around 12:30 and there was no line and service was wonderful. The ambiance is super cute and can see my self brining my friends here to enjoy some pastries. I got 2 items, chocolate swirl and the spinach feta croissant. For drink, I asked what the recommended was and she suggest the lavender latte which did not disappoint. Came Here on Friday afternoon, there is no line. There are plenty of parking in the plaza in Campbell. It looks so cute when you walk in, is like a jewelry store with cakes in display. I came here to try their popular spiral croissant but they are all out around 1pm. The service was courteous and efficient. Love the deco and seating area, make you feel like home. I got their tiramisu and napoleon to go and the red velvet mocha. It came out very fast and love the presentation. If you in the area, should definitely stop by. I was really excited to try Marvel Cake and had been wanting to get the croissant spiral I see all over Instagram. Unfortunately, it looked like they were pretty much sold out of items when I got there in the afternoon. I decided to still pick up a few things just to give it a try since I was already there. I got their croissant, the hazelnut chocolate tart, and 3 macaroons ($29 for everything, which is pretty overpriced for just a few things- the macaroons were $5.50 a piece, and they were tiny!). The macaroons did not hold up well since I got them for my mom who I saw the next day. She said they didn't taste fresh and were falling apart, which is disappointing considering they were really expensive. I also ate the croissant the next day and it was really dry and thick, not buttery or flakey even after re-toasting. The hazelnut tart, which was also very overpriced for a tiny little portion, was the only thing that tasted decent. It was a tad bit on the sweet side, but I will take it compared to all the other items. The service was also really lousy and unwelcoming. I'm really confused what the hype is. We got here at 9:30am on a Sunday and the line started to form around 9:40am. I think the spiral croissant was made famous on tiktok so it's definitely hyped with men and women all lining up for this! I will admit I'm attracted to lines! What is all the rage about these croissants? I had to know!! They opened the door around 9:55am and took orders quickly. I got several pastries and a latte including the opera cake (they recommended it), a pistachio mousse, an almond crisp thing for $3, a butter croissant, chocolate croissant, 6 spiral croissants (1 flavor per person, 3 flavors available, so if you have 2 people, you can order 6!). The spiral croissant was $7.50 each. The cakes were roughly $10-11 a slice. The almond little crisp thing for $3. Overall I spent around $90 and BOY WAS THAT way too much. I don't understand why people like the pastries. The butter croissant and chocolate croissant were hard as rocks the next day. Dry even when microwaved. The opera cake tasted normal, and the almond crisp thing I was so mad about because it didn't even have an almond taste to it. Now, the spiral croissants. There's a pistachio, strawberry and chocolate version. Inside if you cut it open, is like pudding cream filling in each croissant. The texture of the croissant is dense. It's an interesting concept. Reminds me of a cronut, but with a cream inside I guess! Is it worth it? Well, it's always fun to try something new. I think it would depend how far you're driving to get it. I wouldn't drive more than 20 mins for it. And set your expectations low. This wasn't mind blowing and I was so disappointed in all the pastries and cakes. There's definitely better places. Alexander's patisserie for example, and even fire bakery that wholesales to a lot of coffee shops has better croissants in my opinion. I personally wouldn't be back, but hey! Why not try it? It's the experience that's fun. I heard they make 300 spiral croissants of each flavor a day, so they do run out within an hr or so. Even on the weekday. So get there early! read more

Instagram inspired to visit. Wow what a gem hidden in Campbell. Thank you Camil for waited on us and she was patient and helpful in helping us make the best sections based on our liking. Staff was friendly and kept the line moving efficiently. They have a good selection of pastries cupcakes, tarts,croissants but yes they are pricy. Marvel Patisserie & Cafe is incredible! So happy to be inspired to finally visit. It was a little out of my way but totally worth the visit. This a pastry and Café gem to have in the Bay Area. From the moment I walked in to the the moment I walked to the counter I was in awe of their selections of pastries and lattes. The overall ambiance elegance of the cafe makes your experience even more memorable. The spiral croissant alert are always limited and sold out by mid day. I called marvel before Heading to the café and I was informed that they had a limited selection and couldn't hold. I just prayed that the pistachio croissant would not be sold out. Arrived 15 minutes before opening to finally try these spiral croissants that have been circulating the internet. About 5 min before opening I noticed one person beginning to walk up and get in line. I immediately jumped in line too and right after 15 other people got in line. I will say, based on the amount of customers in line, I wouldn't be shocked if they sold out within minutes. I was surpised after reading all the reviews about this place. We spent $30 dollars for six STALE cupcakes for the Labor Day Weekend Saturday BBQ. The rest of the tarts we bought were good, but the cupcakes were a complete disaster!!! Sadly, we would have been better served stopping in at Nob Hill and getting their bakery cupcakes. During when we're still being careful, individual desserts like this are great in the same way individual bento boxes are. Everyone gets their own and minimizes contact while still having something to enjoy together. It's especially suited for when you're trying to have a nicer dinner party together. It may also be the closest location to you that sells a whole variety of Marianne's ice cream. Especially important now that it's so hot. I no longer have to go to Zanotto's Family Market haha (nice, but a bit far from home for me to deliver ice cream). With things back open though, you can sit down inside now too and treat yourself to both a dessert and the nice café setting. They have some really cool things during the holidays, so check them out for special occasions. The Mother's Day special was a bouquet of cupcakes while Father's Day had macaroons. And if it isn't a holiday, they do cakes, though they're pretty pricey. But if you're looking for a REALLY nice, last-minute cake, they have their daily cakes in the lit-up cabinets facing towards the pastry display. Marvel Cake is a bakery that does modern European (specifically French) pastries, desserts, and cakes and a café in the same aesthetic. Super reminiscent to Alexander's Patisserie, but quieter and more of a local business. It's all very elegant and located in Campbell's Kirkwood Plaza, just down the street (Campbell Ave) from the Westgate Center. Specifically, though, its location makes it super convenient for anyone traveling along Prospect Road, Saratoga Avenue, and Campbell Avenue. Overall, would recommend taking a break here, as a casual meeting/hangout spot, and a place to pick up something (a pastry for breakfast or a light lunch or a dessert) to treat yourself. Amazing bakery! The croissants are good but the tarts really take the cake in this one! The spiral croissants were good but they were also more dense than fluffy and flakey. All of the tarts we got were absolutely amazing, so many contrasting textures and flavors, I would recommend all of them! In terms of the wait, we got there at 11am on a saturday and had to wait around 30 minutes. It's a very cute cafe very feels a bit crowded with all the people waiting in line. Came here on mothers day at 10:20 am and there was a long line outside already. I think the wait lasted about 30 mins tho and they ran out of the strawberry spiral croissant. But i was able to get one of each of the other flavors: chocolate, matcha, pistachio. Also got a regular chocolate croissant. I didn't get to eat them right away cuz i had errands after and wanted to bring them to socal. Staff told me it wasn't recommended to refrigerate or freeze them but I didn't listen or have a choice if i wanted to take them socal. But glad I didn't because it made me appreciate the quality even more. FYI the spiral croissants are $7.50 a piece. The pastries were left in the car in the sun for about a couple hours and melted and i was devastated about that. Then I refrigerated them for a day then took them on a plane to socal the next day. Took them out 5 days later and air fried them and they came out so good! They tasted like they just came out the oven with the warm flaky croissant and warm oozy cream. I recommend eating w a fork and knife to avoid the mess. On top of that, they all tasted really good. My fav is pistacjio for the sweet and nutty flavor. Matcha was my next favorite. Airfry tip: 325 F for 5 mins :) Overall I would prob get this again esp after everything I put them thru. Hope a place opens in LA! I also want to try the strawberry one! Tried 4 types of croissaints: Butter- fluffy and each bite was a butter goodness....Paris is now in Campbell. Almond - sweet, delectable bite of great almond flavor. Bakery opened at 10:00AM. We were here at 9:45AM on Saturday but the line was long and many people were here Perhaps they came here at 9:00 AM ?? After a half hour waiting on line in the cold weather ..so I asked myself..is it worthy ? My ordered was number 86. Maybe 85 people before me? It's my kind of place, especially around birthday seasons. I call it one of my favorite sweet spots. Great place to meet up with people. Their hot beverages and galettes are great. They make some of the best cakes and desserts around here. Huge selections. Lots of colorful and flowery decorations. I have tasted a little bit of everything over the past 3 years. All items are excellent. Don't look at pricing when everything else is perfect. Their birthday cakes are yummy and marvelous. I usually go for my favorite mango or lemon mousse fruit tarts. Pistachio tart was not bad either. Chocolate flavors are always just right. Not overly sweet. I always leave with a box of 6-12 dessert items or a birthday cake. It's a very passionate and welcoming place. 5-stars review: Excellent customer service, hardworking hustlers, attentive, friendly, clean, very organized, beautiful presentations, perfect/passionate pastries and desserts, and believe me, it's very colorful no matter how you look at it and feel just being here. Was super excited to try this place, based on their spiral croissant and they got featured as one of the best bakeries in San Jose from a YouTube foodie. This place is super elegantly designed and everyone looks professional and the display case is well stocked. Though I will say behind the counter it does look frazzled, but maybe because they were busy?? I loved the look of all the pastries in display, but I felt a disconnect with their selections, how you got to see all their selections and their labelling. There was some mislabeling of the pastries in the display which is not that big of deal to order, but then people go away thinking one thing is that pastry and go somewhere to get embarrassed. They have a lot of selections but it goes down a line and then more is around the corner. So the people take your order towards the middle of the long display case, but it's like you couldn't even see what was around the corner until you get towards the cashier. This is more of a nick pick for me, but I do not like that they had cupcakes there. The whole vibe if is this French patisserie, then you have basic cupcakes in the corner?? Since I was super excited by all the eye candy we got a few items: got both flavors of the spiral croissant (chocolate and pistachio), the opera cake, a mille fille and the chocolate eclair. If you get it to-go there are no spoons or forks available to take with you that I saw. We ended up using one of the pastry boards as a spoon. The spiral croissants were bad. The filling inside both of them were flavorless and tasted as if they were about to go bad. The topping for the pistachio one is different then the filling inside. I liked the topping better, it actually tased of pistachio. It was essentially a soggy croissant. The eclair felt the same bad pastry cream and soggy choux. I never had a mille fille cake slice before and I probably won't have it again. It was super eggy and rubbery tasting. The opera cake was actually pretty good. Overall super disappointed for the quality of taste of the items we got. Very expensive for what you get. Located in a business plaza with a lot of parking. Overall customer service was good. I arrived an hour after they opened and surprisingly there wasn't a line. But there were a lot of people dining in. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I was craving their spiral croissant and ended up leaving with more than those. I got their pistachio and crème brûlée tart. Both are delicious and well made. The pistachio is by far my favorite dessert from here. I didn't realize that both were over $10, which is a hefty price tag. I got their pistachio, chocolate and strawberry croissants. These never disappoint. I also saw that they have the current viral pastry, flat croissants. I got the same flavors as the spiral croissants. It's best to get a regular or spiral croissant. The trend for flat croissants is overly hyped. The dipped half of the croissant is good but texture wise, it's stiff. I microwaved for 10-15 seconds and it tasted better as the texture got softer and the dipped half slightly melted. Stick to their spiral croissants instead. read more

The good: I definitely marveled over the gorgeous desserts here. The desserts here are works of art! Every dessert is so flawless and beautiful. They use mirror glaze on many of their tarts. Their packaging is also high end-looking and luxurious. I want to come back for some pastries and a tea service. I tried the mango passion fruit tart, pomegranate cheesecake tart, lemon tart (they said it was a staff favorite), pistachio tart, and a strawberry tart (with a pretty dried rose on top). They have other French pastries like macarons and eclairs. The bad: The jelly layers in the tarts were on the sweet side. I think a cake version or a cake slice of this would be too much sweetness so the small tartlet sizes were definitely more appropriate. Tarts are pricey at around $8-10 each. The cheesecake had just as much jelly layer as the cheesecake layer so it didn't taste too much like cheesecake. The strawberry tart is mostly mousse and jelly on top of a really thin tart/biscuit. I, personally, think it would be nicer with more tart. The interesting: They take custom orders for cakes but also have ready-to-pickup cakes. They also carry Marianne's ice cream. read more

One of the best patisseries I've been to in a while. Their chocolate eclairs are just amazing, nice bitter sweet chocolate cream coupled with a slight crunchy outer shell pastry. It was delectable and had me wanting more. We also tried to viral spiral croissants that did not disappoint. Flavors were rich, pastries were fresh, crispy and flaky, not much more you can ask for. Feel a bit embarrassed to say, but we actually went the day before to try to get those croissants and missed it as it was sold out. One of the sweet lady there told us to come back at opening if we absolutely wanted them or at least make it there before 1pm before they are sold out. Everyone there are so nice and happy to give suggestions if you ask. It has a cafe section where you can sit and enjoy the pastries with a cup of tea or coffee. That being said I have found the staff to be cold and rude every time we walk in and the cakes are below average for triple the price. The cakes once again are aesthetically beautiful but inside the cake itself is dry as if it's old and the icing was grainy. I was excited to see that it was close by Bakery in the (408), for these Fantastic dessert goods. I was on the way down the 680, and had to hop over to Campbell to try these Croissants out. We were amazed by all their other Baked treats, but my goal was to get the Croissants. They only allow 1 type for each customer, but a 3 different types. Pistachio , Chocolate, and Strawberry cream. The display case of baked goods looked pretty fancy and they had a few chairs and tables in the Bakery. You can order Espresso or coffee or help yourself to the complimentary water. The Croissant was flaky but the Pistachio cream filling was so good. I can't compare to the Lafayette in New York, but this one is worth the drive from the East bay for this unique treat. read more

They limit one flavor spiral croissant per person because of the high demand. It's true that these croissants sell out within the first hour of opening. We went on a Friday around 1pm, and it took around 15-20 minutes from waiting in line to receiving our food. Was super excited to come try the spiral croissants that are currently really popular. Initially my friend and I were suppose to go to another bakery but it was closed on Tuesday. The place is really cute and has nice fancy decor. When we went the croissants were already sold out so we each got one latte and some desserts from the front. The desserts were pretty pricey for what it was. About $11 for some too. We got a rose latte, matcha latte, crème brûlée, pistachio dessert, and strawberry one. We got seated and the lattes and desserts came pretty quickly. Lattes were good but the desserts were just okay. Now the reason why I gave 3 stars. The place and food was average. The service was not that great. One lady in front was very nice, however the lady that came out with the lattes and desserts was not nice. No reaction to thanks or anything.
