My favorite sandwich (Photo quality doesn't do it any justice) They use soft cheese which goes really well (pictured)

I always like to get my torta with ham and everything else on it. It's cheap and it's a great lunch, and you get it in probably two or three minutes if they're not busy-which is almost never the case when I go. I also love their baked items. The conchas are very tasty and have a fluffy, soft, and perfectly chewy center. Of course no two conchas are always the same, but you can reasonably expect them to always be very good if not perfect. I should reiterate how good, fresh, cheap, and fast the sandwiches are. I just really like the atmosphere and scent of all the biscuits, cookies, rolls, and donuts, even though I usually get my sandwich. Also I get to practice my Spanish when I go. I'm getting better. I should also note that obviously they do speak either English or Spanish. But it's a lot of Spanish speakers nearby so they're just doing the natural thing by preferring Spanish. Overall I recommend this cute place for its cookies(which I forgot to mention are amazing-if a little messy with crumbs), warm, fresh tortas(sandwiches) and other various baked goodies. 5 stars for family, tradition, and perfection of the craft.

I have yet to try their croissants, but I plan to try them. Their hours are a little bit odd so make sure you check their website. I think they're closed Monday through Wednesday. It's a huge bummer because sometimes I have Mondays off and I wanted to get a cup of coffee and then I found out they were closed. There is not any place to sit, unfortunately otherwise I would come much more often but that's probably a good thing for my waistline ;) Parking is a little bit tight. There's more parking near the Goodwill and the back.

He explained that they are a small batch bakery. All the pastries, behind the glass, looked amazing and were decorated so beautifully. I decided to get one Lemon-Raspberry Meringue Tart and one Mix Berry Vanilla Creme Tart. Mr. Manaois boxed up my selections and helped me at the register. They also gave many varieties of hot beverages, sweet and savory scones and sweet and savory croissants. There are also a lot of different pastries. This would be a great place to have a small relaxing breakfast. There are several places inside to enjoy your goodies. Both desserts, that I purchased, were so delicious. My favorite was the lemon raspberry meringue tart. The tartness of the lemon-raspberry filling worked so perfectly with the delicious sweet meringue. I will definitely come here again to try other items.

The ambiance here was inviting and there are lots of tables and chairs where one can sit. Luckily we were able to snag a table. For food we got a latte which was very nice. We also got the ham and cheese croissant which was absolutely delicious and the guava cream cheese pastry. I got both warmed and loved it. We also got a honey butter cornbread thing with their homemade strawberry jam. This was a cool savory sweet option. Although I didn't love it, it was nice to try. Overall good experience and would go back to try other pastries!

I've been here a few times, and I honestly don't know why I haven't reviewed this place yet…read more The moment you walk into Manresa Bread, you're greeted right away. The space has a modern yet warm feel with beautiful natural wood finishes, fresh loaves of sourdough lining the shelves, pastries displayed in the case, and a mix of large communal wood tables, regular seating, and high-top tables. It's the kind of café that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. The staff was friendly and helped us choose both a pastry and our toast. They were also happy to customize our order--we asked for the levain sourdough toast with butter instead of the usual olive oil. That toast was absolutely divine. The sourdough had the perfect balance: chewy without being too sour, with a crust that was crisp but not so hard that it fought back. Easily the best sourdough toast I've had in the Bay Area. If you come here, this is the one thing you have to order. The only disappointment was the butter. They serve French butter, but for an extra $2, the portion was tiny and honestly nothing special. I've had better butter from Whole Foods. It didn't take away from how incredible the bread was, but it wasn't worth the upcharge. Their Kouign-amann is also one of the best I've ever had. Instead of the typical flat, flaky style, theirs is taller with countless buttery layers that create an amazing texture. The cappuccino was another highlight. It had subtle notes of orange peel, whiskey, and cardamom, making it unique. The latte art was beautiful too. Overall, Manresa Bread is one of those cafés that makes you want to sit down with a laptop or a book and spend a few hours there. The only downside is there are no power outlets, so come with a full battery if you're planning to work. Must orders: Levain sourdough toast with butter and the Kouign-amann. Both are worth the trip.

The Core Offering (Food/Product): 4.5 / 5 We only got pastries, and the pastries were really good, they tasted like they were home made (We didn't ask if all the pastries were home made, but they did taste good) 2. Execution & Consistency (Service): 5 / 5 Amazing service, we were greeted at the door, we were given a personalized order. Over all the service was really good. Felt very welcomed. 3. Attention to Detail (The Little Things): 4.8 / 5 Parking was easy and the seating was also great. The place was also really clean. 5. Price-to-Value Ratio (Wallet Test): 4 / 5 The price was not bad, things were priced pretty typical and it's a good price for what they offer. The Breakdown Overall this place was great! It was definitely room temperature, the cheese wasn't fully melted, and the pastrami was slightly cold. I eventually asked the helpers up front to warm it up, and it tasted a lot better afterward. The melted cheese and softer bread made a noticeable difference. The pastrami itself was good, just a little salty. Ham and Cheese Croissant This was a solid one too. I also asked them to warm this one up. The ham had a slightly sweet flavor that gave the sandwich a nice overall taste, while the melted cheese helped balance it out. Add in the light buttery flavor from the croissant, and it was a nice combination. I've definitely had better croissants, though. White Chocolate Matcha Scone Yeahhh, y'all can skip this one. I didn't taste the matcha at all. The white chocolate was sorta there, but the scone itself was pretty bland and dry. I wouldn't mind coming back to try some of their other items. They have a pretty large selection, so it's gonna take a minute to try everything.

I filled out the form on their website a couple of weeks before my husband birthday, and noticed that their prices had increased recently. The regular 6" black sesame blueberry hojicha cost $55. Megan responded in email within 2 days as expected. Her payment instructions were very clear, and we agreed to meet at their designated community park at 10am on Sunday. (They would also do delivery with an additional cost.) An hour before our meeting time, she sent a text with the make/model/color of their car, as well as, some dessert care instructions. They arrived on time. The cake was carefully packaged and included a "Happy Birthday" paper topper. The cake was really good. It was fresh and airy; the black sesame taste really stood out; the blueberry jam was delicious and not too sweet; the hojicha fresh cream was light and flavorful. While we all really enjoyed the cake, it's very pricey, and it's a 20-min drive from home to pick it up at one of the two time choices.
