Even the menus were really cool and added to the whole experience. The food was delicious! Honestly, I'd go as far as saying I enjoyed it even more than Signature Steakhouse. The prices were very fair for the quality of the food and the overall experience. We finished the night with the crème brûlée, and it was incredible--the perfect way to end an already amazing dinner. The wait staff was also extremely friendly, attentive, and quick with everything. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back! Highly recommend The Cutlery!

Getting a reservation for a party of more than six was very difficult since they never answered their phone, but don't let that stop you. We drove by and made the reservation in person, and thankfully, it worked out! When we arrived, we were greeted by our friendly server (Kat), who made sure our table was ready and everything was perfect. The ambiance of this place was beautiful. We loved the dark walls and dim lighting--it felt cozy, intimate, and very romantic. For appetizers, we ordered the bone marrow, clams, escargot, shishito peppers, and duck-fat fries. Everything came out relatively quickly and was delicious. The fries were especially addicting--we loved them so much that we had to order a second serving! For our main courses, we decided to do everything family-style and ordered the rack of lamb, porterhouse, beef ragu, corn on the cob, and sautéed mushrooms. The little ones had the smoked meat with rice and mac and cheese. The entrees took a little longer to come out, but it was completely understandable considering how much food we ordered! And the portions definitely did not disappoint. There was more than enough food for all 10 of us, with plenty left over for lunch the next day. The porterhouse steak was gigantic and perfectly cooked, but surprisingly, our favorite was the rack of lamb. The meat was so tender and juicy--absolutely delicious! Overall, The Cutlery was such a wonderful experience. Great food, beautiful ambiance, generous portions, and friendly service made it the perfect spot for my husband's birthday celebration. We all left happy, full, and already talking about what we'd order again next time. Definitely a place we would come back to!

I like sitting at the bar, so that's where we decided to sit, and the service was excellent. The menu is pretty much what you'd expect from a classic steakhouse: soups, salads, steaks, and traditional sides like fries and grilled asparagus. I started the evening with a martini, and it was perfectly done. They also bring out their special cheesy bread, which is exactly what it sounds like--warm, cheesy bread--and it was quite good. For my main course, I had the Beef Wellington, and it was phenomenal. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the crispy, flaky outside was delicious. It came with a baked potato, and they brought all the fixings--sour cream, chives, and bacon--to the table and dress your potato for you. The potato was delicious, and the side of vegetables was just what was needed to round out the meal. We ended the evening with a flourless chocolate cake, which was also excellent. Overall, it was a great night and a really enjoyable meal. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a nice dinner or a place to celebrate something special!

We ordered what seemed like everything on the menu, from aged ribeye, to lamb chops, beef Wellington, prime rib, and all the sides! From lobster Mac and cheese to mash potatoes, spinach, corn, fries, and sautéed mushrooms. They have an awesome area where you can watch the pitmaster grill all the meats and it's fun to take pictures there too and witness all the greatness. We got the seafood tower and the French onion soup to start. Highlight was the lamb chop with the mint jelly. So delicious and my first time trying mint jelly. Beef Wellington was moist and the pastry was nice and flaky. The service was immaculate and you are well taken care of like family. You just end the dessert with the ice cream option where they make it right by your table side. It's such an experience! Best steakhouse on island. Check them out in Waikiki!

For three of us, we got the ribeye and New York pupu steaks, poke, potato gratin, fried mushrooms, and fish tacos. This was more than enough food for us, and I really think I got my ordering down at this place. If you're coming for happy hour, definitely get one of the pupu steaks. You cannot skip the potato gratin and fried mushrooms. The poke was pretty good, but you have to remember they are a steakhouse, not a poke shop. I would probably skip the fish tacos next time. Service is always super quick during happy hour. Parking can get full, but we're always able to find a spot. Definitely come early to take advantage of the happy hour deals!

We recently went to Little Joe's Steakhouse on Nimitz for a going-away dinner for a friend. Our…read morereservation was for 5:00 p.m., during the restaurant's advertised happy hour, which runs until 7:00 p.m. Before arriving, we had looked at the happy hour menu online and assumed those selections would be available during that time. We were seated in the dining room and ordered drinks, but no one mentioned that happy hour was restricted to a different seating area. It was only after we received the dinner menus, noticed the happy hour selections were missing, and specifically asked our waiter about them that we were told the happy hour menu could not be ordered in the dining area. By then, we had already ordered our drinks at full price. I think this is something the restaurant should make much clearer on its website and during the reservation and seating process. If a 5:00 p.m. reservation places guests in an area where the advertised happy hour does not apply, that should be disclosed before they are seated, or at minimum before they begin ordering. The difference affects not only price, but also the food selections available and the overall dining experience. Our group was actually a little stumped by the regular dinner menu because the options were much more limited than what we had been looking at online. I asked specifically about the Scallops Dynamite because I do not tolerate spicy food well. I told our waiter that I did not like spicy food, and he explained that the dynamite sauce could be served on the side and that the scallops themselves were basically seasoned with seeds. Unfortunately, even without the sauce, the scallops were extremely spicy. I could barely eat them. The heat was intense enough that I drank my entire glass of water and then much of my daughter's trying to cool my mouth. When the waiter came back and asked how everything was, I told him directly that I could not eat the scallops because they were far too spicy. He smiled and walked away. There was no offer to replace them, remake them without the spicy seasoning, suggest another entrée, or even acknowledge that the dish was not what I had been led to expect. That was probably the most disappointing part of the experience. At a restaurant at this price point, where many items are à la carte, I would expect the staff to be more attentive to whether a guest can actually enjoy the meal, especially after the guest specifically asked about the spice level before ordering. There was also a smaller moment that reflected the overall lack of attention to detail. Our guest of honor arrived wearing two leis, and the waiter immediately said, "Happy Birthday." He had to correct him and explain that he was actually leaving the islands. A more polished approach would have been something simple like, "Are we celebrating anything special tonight?" It could just as easily have been a birthday, promotion, retirement, anniversary, or farewell. I dine out and travel frequently, so I understand that not every meal or service interaction will be perfect. But several things missed the mark here, and together they changed what should have been a special farewell dinner. We will not be returning, but I do hope management takes the feedback constructively, particularly regarding clearer disclosure of the happy hour seating restrictions and how staff respond when a guest clearly cannot eat the dish they ordered. My advice for first time diners is ask where you will be seated if you're hoping for a full menu option during happy hour. The website is misleading.

Exterior just calls out to you. I'll write more once we are seated and taste their food. I already looked at their menu on Yelp, read some reviews and know what I want to try. All 3 employees welcomed us with smiles and a happy greeting. It smells SO good when you enter of good food. Catchy Japanese pop music adds to the festive vibe. Their menu is extensive. Everything sounds, looks and tastes amazing. Erin was the best and such a pretty hostess, table server and made the evening enjoyable. Yuzu was all smiles, cute and prepared some of the food. We were welcomed in, though told that we had to depart by a certain time because there was another reservation coming in. Not a problem for us, appreciated the head's up. We were at a countertop seating, towards the restrooms. We could still see the cooks grilling in our peripheral view. We noticed that when it got busy, the place got super duper smokey really fast, to the point where they opened the front door to air some of that out. I wished they had a better ventilation system because we definitely left there smelling of smoke. As for the food, definitely shareable with different dishes from grilled meats to sides and starches. The server was also kind in helping us navigate through the menu when we had first arrived. There's a lot going on, in terms of specials of the day. Though I noticed, that when it got busy, we saw less and less of our server, and had to flag him down for more water several times. Save some room for dessert, for their sister company (Cha to Gelato Zen) is located right next door. Overall, if you're looking for a lively (loud) spot to drink and/or eat pupus, this place has an interesting vibe to it.
