Marty's will always be a nostalgic donut shop. I've known them since I was a child. I recommend coming early in the morning because they always serve them fresh. I tried the cronut for the first time here and it was excellent. I got the Chocolate Cronut. The donut was flaky, chewy, and had a delightful crunch to it. It was definitely worth getting. Unfortunately, I would not recommend. I swung by in passing and craved a good old chocolate bar. The taste of the overall donut felt like old oil and the bread was not expanded but instead flatten like a sandle/chancla. I stopped eating it mid way (whats photographed) because the insane amount of chocolate to bread ration was not yummy. I bought two of these at 6 dollars and was disappointed at the cost to the taste received. I suppose the 3$ donut to the size is good but extremely lacked quality. read more

The only thing that felt a bit off was that most of the donuts felt a bit on the salty side. I get that salt is needed in your batter, but I think Marty's went a bit over board. But maybe some would like it? The crullers were nice. The jelly filled donuts were good. The plain donuts had a nice hint of vanilla, but you need to shake the saltiness. Then the chocolate glazed donuts were delicious, minus the a bit salty taste. The fluffy texture was supreme. Service was just fine. It's a business. All told, if you are looking for donuts that are sure to hit the spot and beat that late-morning-I've-been-in-too-many-meetings feeling, the assortment of options available here is a winner! We went at about 11AM and there was no one there. The doughnut selection was a little slimmer then I imagine it would be in the morning. We got a cinnamon, sugared and two chocolate sprinkle cake doughnuts. They pretty much just had a standard selection. All of the doughnuts were decent. From what I had heard about Marty's Donuts I expected it to be busier than it was. I got there on a dark Monday morning and saw a huge line at Bagel Street Cafe and was momentarily confused which place I was going to. There was a fair selection of donuts but the labels were simple, categorical, and not specific to what's behind them. For example: cronuts (croissant donuts) but there were two kinds. I would have asked but the lady didn't seem friendly. I had greeted her with a warm hello and she just nodded at me. I asked her if anything was hot and fresh and she nodded. As I made my selection, I felt silently rushed even though there was no one else there. Now, I admit I read into that a bit but I felt it nonetheless. I ended up getting the jelly filled glazed donut because, well, it called to me. You know what I mean. It was delicious. While it wasn't warm, but it was sugary, sweet, soft, fluffy, satisfying, and had a great balance of donut to jelly. Some places fill those kind of donuts too much and you don't get to enjoy the donut itself, but, Marty's was good. I may stop by again to try a cronut, which was calling but not louder than the jelly filled, and my classic favorite apple fritter sometime too. Hopefully I have a friendlier experience and those donuts wow me more than my first visit to Marty's did. read more

Can't believe the low average rating on this place... These are some of the BEST donuts I've ever had. So incredibly well made. I remember one of my coworkers bought a bit too many donuts and I started snacking on them through the week and they were still delicious! What is this sorcery??!! You know a donut is like really really good if it doesn't even need to be hot and fresh to be tasty. The raised donuts are so fluffy, not too sweet, and the glaze is perfectly crackly as you bite into it but still maintains its hold onto the donut. Dough not let me live near so many doughnut shops! Small place without seating, nestled into the shopping center with Lucky's and Starbucks on Maude. Dough nut delay, here are the doughnuts: The circular maple glazed old fashioned (the whole time I thought these were just called circular buttermilk bars) may have surpassed my opinion of regular doughnuts with the slightly crunchy, rich outside and omg that maple glaze was almost solid and super sweet. Doughnut heaven. Glaze can make or break a doughnut, and this glaze made it! The doughnut with chocolate glaze and coconut was also yummy and not overly oily or doughy, a doughnut pet peeve of mine. (Yes, I realize it's called a "dough" nut, but that doesn't mean it should be like unbaked dough.) Cronuts are pricey here, apparently. And, not to mention, #so2014. Call me old fashioned, but Marty's is the first and only old fashioned I've ever tasted. Looking forward to future sugar comas from this (too) nearby mom and pop doughnut shop. read more

One of the best local donut shops for their French crullers and cronuts! I miss when they used to have ube donuts. Whenever I feel like a little pick me up after my morning meetings, I order from Marty's Donuts. I usually get glazed and chocolate French crullers, some random selection of raised and old fashioned donuts, and then of course, a chocolate cronut to share with my significant other.
