Like many people, we've eaten at Martha's in Hermosa many times and have never been disappointed, always willing to wait as long as it took for a table. So when we heard they were opening a new location in the Redondo Village, we were excited. Even more so to learn they'd be offering dinner and cocktails as well. For a newly opened location, we were thrilled to see they were already well staffed. Coffee and water were served quickly, giving us time to look over the menu. The moment I closed the menu, a server was right there ready to take our order. It was really busy when we visited, so we expected a wait for our food, but no, 10 minutes later our omelette and eggs Benedict arrived. A few minutes after that, the owner stopped by to chat, and we learned how they were able to open the restaurant so quickly. (Turns out it wasn't quick at all, they'd been looking for a location for quite some time.) We were so impressed that we went back two days later for a late afternoon sandwich. The Village was already thriving, but with Martha's here, it just keeps getting better. read more

Martha's is an absolute classic. I love the corn scramble and a pancake on the side. It really makes my weekend. It's always great service and dog friendly. It's usually a long line on the weekend but it's worth the wait. Who can beat such a great meal by the ocean! Highly recommend sitting outside. read more

Location is everything, we have tried coming here a couple times for breakfast but the wait can get long on weekends. We came by on a week day and were sat right away. The host was very friendly and inviting. The service was great. Topped off our coffees a few times throughout our visit. The blueberry pancakes were what I came for, I'd give them a 8/10. My Saturday breakfast group loves Martha's but weekends are always very crowded. We thought since it was overcast the place wouldn't be busy. WRONG assumption but luckily we got a table after 10 minutes.They were very busy but we had a server we've known for a long time. I had the vegetable omelet and one friend had the Thai scramble. Two people had the abc omelet and the other the white corn scramble. The abc omelet people said that was the most bacon they've ever seen and were very happy. Corn scramble person loved her omelet. Most amazing diner in Hermosa Beach for breakfast within a few feet of the sand . We had some friends from Egypt with us. For starters the California weather delivered in a way that makes you feel about how expensive it is to live here but then you couple that wit a great cup of coffee with some of the fluffiest blueberry pancakes on the face of the planet...it doesn't get much better than that. Dined on a Tuesday around 1:00 pm. Our server was sweet, but did not check in on us often. We had to track her down to ask for a box after paying the tab. Their menu here is pretty varied, just not a lot of options for someone who is gluten & dairy free. Ended up ordering the chorizo sweet potato hash. It was good, but nothing super special. I was not expecting the chorizo to be hard sausage chunks. I guess I imagined soft ground chorizo. All and in, the food was decent. But service was a miss unfortunately. Cute brunch spot just steps away from the beach! We came around 11 on a weekend and waited for about 40 mins or so, which didn't seem too bad considering all the people waiting. We had a nice walk along the beach until our table was ready. The food was served fresh and filling - we got breakfast burritos, the sweet potato breakfast bowl with ham, and steak and eggs bowl. Oh Martha. We gotta have a talk girl. What is going on? I stopped by on a Sunday about 11:30ish for a party of 2. We got sat pretty quickly as this place was busyyyy. busyyy worker bees. Everyone was wanting to get a seat at Martha's! I only waited about 20 minutes if that. Not too shabbyyyy ! I started with an iced Spanish latte as I love my Spanish lattes. This is where everything started going downhill. First sip, questionable. Second sip, even more questionable. Mix the coffee with the straw for a minute, another sip, even worse. It tasted like I was drinking the water from a burnt coffee bean with a hint of cinnamon. It was NOT good. I was very sad. I ended up ordering an iced chai latte as a secondary choice.. because how hard is it to mess up a chai? WELP. It was managed to be messed up as well. How?! Martha girl, who was making the drinks this day, cause nuh uh, more training now. The iced chai latte was watery. It did not resemble a chai at all, even the color was weird. I took 2 sips and never finished either drink. I had my counterpart try it-- mind you, I took a sip and gave no reaction to not bias my counterpart. Once they tried it, they were just as astonished to how horrible both drinks were. They ordered the banana bread latte. oh my-lanta. Artificial, sweet, sour banana flavor, he had it switched out for a blended pump shake that was much better-- REALLY sweet, but they loved it. For the breakfast option, I ended up ordering the huevos playa. The hashbrowns were cooked evenly and tender. The sauce/salsa it was sitting in. not it. you're not that guy pal. tasted like pace salsa from a jar or something. that weird salsa taste that makes you aware that it is not home made. I did not like it whatsoever. The sour cream, guac and eggs were the only thing I enjoyed out of this dish. I would not order this again. The cinnamon pancake was the only thing that saved the experience, but even then, $17 for a singular pancake is absolutely insane. Overall, I was extremely, and I mean extremely, disappointed. I wish it lived up to all the social media hype that is around, but my taste buds were extremely unhappy leaving. Service was great, the lady removed the banana bread latte off our bill for not liking it, but I stayed with my 2 awful drinks. Martha's been here for decades. Good luck if you think you can eat here on the weekend. I think what it is, is that it's half a block from the beach. I could see the sand from where I was sitting. I came during the week, in the morning. The metered parking is free before 10AM. There were plenty of tables available around 8AM. Gentleman who worked there said I could choose to sit at any empty table. Tables are close to one another. I ordered a latte with oat milk and an avocado toast. The problem with this place is that the food looks better than it tastes. There were fresh ingredients on my avocado toast, but nothing special. I don't understand why it's always so crowded when the food is average. By the way, there are fly deterrents on every table outdoors. Meaning, it is not uncommon that you're going to have to wait to get a seat at this restaurant. For that reason, I really suggest that you come either very early in the morning, during the week, or on the off-hours, if you hope to be seated right away. Because, there is often times a long wait to get a seat. In terms of what they offer for food, they really try. Though they really try, I am just not a fan of what they offer. Yes, they have a large amount of vegan items, as well as some very well prepared other dishes. But, though the meals are very well presented, I don't know, they just lack something? I've been coming to this restaurant on and off for decades. The menu has changed over the years, obviously. But, it has always remained a question in my mind, why this restaurant is so popular? I guess it's just due to its location. In terms of the overall service of the restaurant, the staff here tries their hardest. But, as stated, there's often times a lot of customers. Stopped in for my first time today and I was really impressed. Breakfast was honestly delicious and the location is hard to beat. It's located in Hermosa Beach really close to the actual beach. Parking in the area can be a bit difficult but spaces open up quite frequently, but it will definitely be metered, there aren't really any free parking spaces. We arrived around 10:30 for Sunday brunch and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated for a party of two. The wait was worth it and even though we had to sit outside, it was covered and our server was polite and attentive. They have many tables inside as well as out so there are plenty of seating options. Inside and outside were both bustling and it was really busy, but service was still pretty quick. The menu has a lot of great options, but I decided to go with the Eggs California because I am a huge Benedict fan and I added chorizo which I would highly recommend. The chorizo and avocado combination is almost unbeatable, and I honestly loved it. The coffee was also strong and overall I thought it was a fantastic breakfast. The Baseline: For a breakfast/brunch cafe the food must be hearty/filling/satisfying for the early morning, there must be a mix of sweet and savory to fulfill that brunch/breakfast need, and service must be a welcoming start of your day experience. Food: Breakfast, brunch, and lunch is the food fare for Martha's and oh... it is delicious and satisfyingly good. My item was the Potato Frittata Skillet and is my favorite of the breakfast skillet/bowl/etc. preparations. Bacon... good... cheese...good...potatoes... good...eggs...good. Seriously it is breakfast Americana to the maximum breakfast brunch output. Also coffee. Standard drip coffee that wasn't burnt or acidic. Warm, robust and great with the table cream I was given. A solid cup of coffee and looking out at the Hermosa Beach and Pacific was an awesome way to see this new year. You also cannot go wrong with the breakfast burrito but I tend to like a beans option with Mexican food items which was not available and is the reason I passed on the Huevos Playa. The Bacon Mushroom Onion Tomato omelette was also pretty filling option as you will find with any of Martha's omelette options. The lighter side is the Kale Caesar salad which was a vibrant array of greens that paired well with grilled chicken (which was a tad on the dry side). The Tuna Melt was a good option as well but would not have been my sandwich choice, especially since there is a Montecristo on the menu. Overall there is a sizable menu that does almost everything well at Martha's. Service: We had the honor of having Emma as our waitress and she was charming, engaging, and kind. Kept all of our needs met (full water glasses) and checked on us at a due proper amount. The food came out in an efficient manner after we ordered and made for a good service experience. Ambiance: Breakfast/brunch/lunch at the beach. That is a Winner, Winner, Martha's dinner experience right there. Comfortable seating and well laid out tables with a lot of people watching opportunities. The restaurant itself is homey and well adorned to give you a seaside feel for the decor. Someone is always there to greet you with a smile and seat you fairly quickly (unless it's busy, usually weekends). We usually come for breakfast. I'm usually ordering the grain bowl because of all the fresh veggies, sweet potatoes, crunchy chickpeas, picked onions and eggs. Veggie havarti omelette is also good. Had breakfast here with my daughter on a Wednesday morning. We got there at the crack of dawn, so there was plenty of seating available both inside and outside. By the time we left at about 8:30, it was already getting pretty busy, even for a weekday morning. The interior is comfortable and cozy. Lots of good breakfast choices on their menu. We both had omelettes and we substituted toast with one of their Cinnamon Bun pancakes ... which was pure genius! I would order that again and again. The omelettes were nicely made with lots of filling. And the hash browns were properly prepared - crispy on the outside and fluffy (fully cooked) on the inside. I asked for house made salsa and they gave me two - one red and one verde. Both were excellent. That was a nice bonus. Service was friendly and helpful and our food was served to us quickly. I don't normally leave reviews, but Martha's absolutely deserves one. Unfortunately, we weren't even able to try the food because my grandpa suddenly collapsed at our table due to a medical emergency. It was one of the scariest moments our family has ever experienced, but the staff's response was incredible. Within seconds, multiple servers rushed over to help. The person I believe was the owner also came over, brought several cold towels, helped flag down the ambulance, and made sure we had everything we needed while we waited for paramedics. Every single employee showed genuine care, compassion, and professionalism. In a moment like that, you really see someone's true character, and the entire team at Martha's went above and beyond. We'll never forget how they treated our family during such a difficult time. We didn't get the chance to eat that day, but because of the kindness and humanity they showed us, we will absolutely be coming back to try the food. Martha's is a great spot for brunch especially if you're bringing out of towners. It has a direct view of the ocean from their patio. I went with a group of Mom's and they were not thrilled about all of the strollers and babies. The server complained in front of us that it was difficult to seat other people at his open tables. I get that he wants his tables full but we definitely accomodated so other people could be sat there and our babies were not being loud. The other patrons were super nice about the babies and really lovely to us but the server and host (2 males of course) needed an attitude adjustment in my opinion. I am in love with Martha's! They use quality ingredients and you can tell. The OJ was fresh squeezed, my latte was bold and flavorful. The stuffed French toast was the best thing I've ever tasted in my life. The presentation was beautiful. I also loved their eggs benedict, again, very fresh. The kids menu was pretty basic, but at least it wasn't bad. They literally tasted like they were McDonald's hot cakes and sausage. They have a lot of seating, inside and out. Beautiful views of the beach and very personable staff to help out. My nephew is non-verbal and our server dealt with him with extreme care and he had a great time. We will be back! read more

Stopped by Martha's after visiting a project close by and it was the perfect mellow brunch spot with coastal vibes. First off, the location is killer--right off the strand with ocean breezes and that signature Hermosa chill. My coworker ordered the Chipotle Corn Quesadilla from the specials menu, and it was surprisingly flavorful for something so simple.
