Came here with some family and once again had a golden experience. This place does incredible volume given it's rather limited space. If you're lucky enough you be sat at one of the few boots inside, allow your eyeballs to scroll the walls for all kinds of nostalgic pictures. You may come across an image that shows where today's Uncle Bill's pancake house used to be over a century ago! I went with bacon, egg's, and those incredible pancakes, while my guest ordered a litany of other things such as an old school burger with onion rings-there were no complaints people! And while $60 plus (not including my standard 20 PLUS percent tip for CSA level service) may come off as a tad pricey, think again especially in this day and age. They're going to be almost every other competitor in both the South Bay and SoCal as a whole when you consider the sheer volume of the food they're going to put in front of you. Kind of makes you look around at the fit servers and say hey do you eat this food too? Lol The CSA, (CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL STAR) of this experience was Miss Nicky-pictured. She was super fast, super friendly, and super knowledgeable about their expansive menu. All in all, she helped make it a super outing! Thanks Nicky, your a credit to the Uncle Bill's Pancake House brand!

Uncle Bill's steak & eggs with pancakes & a vanilla nut coffee

Top notch food! Hash browns were excellent as well as the pancakes. Over easy eggs and medium steak were good too. Really enjoyed the vanilla nut iced coffee. Friendly, efficient service more so because I was sitting by regulars at the counter. They were friendly and funny too. Great diner vibes with cool trucker hats hanging everywhere and funny signs too.

Yes, this is a local favorite. Yes people come her from the West side as it is one of their favorites. Yes it is a tourist favorite. With that said, be prepared for a bit of a wait for a table, and know they have excellent service and the food is worth the wait. There is a public parking lot at the civic center for a fee of course. Street parking is hard to manage sometimes, but the civic center has an underground parking area nearby, which is a short walk. The view of the ocean is beautiful and peaceful while you are waiting for your table. We ordered the bacon and eggs (scrambled) with potatoes and the Sausage patties and eggs (fried) with potatoes. Both come with a choice of pancakes or muffins. One of us ordered the hot cakes and the other ordered the muffins. On this day the muffin was Cappuccino Chocolate muffins and they were to die for! We sat inside which is very nice, and there is plenty of outdoor seating as well. As I said, Uncle Bills is a fan favorite. I am posting this review to help those who have never been her so you can be sure to put this on your list of places to go for breakfast real soon!

Went for second breakfast with company owner, had eggs and Uncle Bills sourdough French toast, was very good. Service was attentive and there right when needed. Love the history of this place with all the photos and how it's been part of MB for so long staying true to origin. Can get loud when full, though has outdoor seating as well. Dog friendly in the outdoor seating too. Will return again!

I'm giving Uncle Bill's Pancake House 4 stars mainly because of the service. It took almost 20 minutes just for someone to take our order, even though there was no wait to get seated and the place didn't seem that busy--we waited about 10-15 minutes before being seated. Once we finally ordered though, the food actually came out pretty fast. The food itself was really good, especially the burgers we got--they were definitely the highlight of the meal. The ambience was okay, nothing too special but still a decent spot for a casual meal. Overall, good food but the service timing could be improved.

Wonderful breakfast spot super close to the beach! We were greeted warmly as soon as we entered and our orders were taken within 5 minutes. I ordered the bacon and eggs with sourdough toast and hashed browns and my husband ordered the Santa Fe omelet with pancakes. Our server was very attentive and smiley. Our orders came out quickly and I was pleased that the bacon was super crispy and the hashed browns well charred! Add to that the Cholula at every table and I was set! My husband enjoyed his omelet as well. If we lived closer, this would be a favorite spot!

Expo 73 Omelet with Banana nut pancakes

This cute place definitely gives good bang for your buck in terms of portion sizes. I ordered the Expo 73 Omelet ($19.50) and upgraded to the Banana nut pancakes ($3 upcharge). The omelet was packed with ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, and American cheese topped with a meat sauce and sour cream. I asked for the hashbrowns extra crispy and they were indeed perfectly crispy! The banana nut pancakes were a good size and topped with a heaping pile of fresh banana slices and crumbled walnuts ... the $3 upcharge was worth it! Could only finish half, so took the other portion and ate it for breakfast the next day. I would come back again to try other things, but I docked a star because of the parking situation. Took a while to find parking because it's a busy street, but it's right next to the beach and a beautiful location.

Both my husband and I agreed that this was the best breakfast we have ever had! The eggs with cheese were amazing and the patio was amazing to sit on! Thank you Uncle Bills for great service and amazing food!

Uncle Bill's Pancake House is a nice breakfast spot, especially because of the location so close to the beach. The food was okay--nothing really stood out, but it was a solid breakfast. Service was good and the atmosphere is relaxed with that classic beach-town feel. I think the location and being able to grab breakfast near the water is the biggest draw.

Uncle bills pancake house is a great breakfast / brunch spot in manhattan beach. It's in a prime location where it's situated in the heart of the area and a walkable spot to the nearby beach. I came here with a large group and thankfully only had about a 5 minute wait. We were sat inside and service was prompt. Prices are pretty reasonable and they even had specials for the week that was hanging from the wall. I ordered the French toast combo with scrambled eggs and sausage. I had really wanted hash downs as well so my friend got the egg combo with a beef patty and we were able to share. Everything was delicious. I felt satisfied once we were done.

HEARTY FOOD WITH AN OCEAN VIEW Met a friend for breakfast here on a late Tuesday morning around 11AM. It's in the heart of Manhattan Beach, so parking can be challenging. We missed the crowds on both ends once we parked and promptly scored a fantastic table on the patio with a sliver of an ocean view. Service was friendly and attentive. The pancakes at another table were GINORMOUS. Given the name of this place, I probably should have ordered them, but my pal wasn't interested. Instead, I opted for the Sausage and Eggs for $17.00, which came with two muffins, blueberry or chocolate chip. I ate the blueberry one, which was delicious and took home the chocolate chip one to enjoy the next day. Everything is big here! My meal consisted of a huge portion of perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, nice and crispy hash browns, and a few tasty sausages. After this wonderful massive meal, I didn't need much for the rest of the day. My companion liked her ample hot oatmeal ($10.50) and English Breakfast Tea ($4). When the sun came out, the waiter immediately put up an umbrella to shade us. It was so lovely here that we lingered over our drinks and relished the view. Inside is equally adorable. Thanks, Uncle Bill for this idyllic, funky pancake haven.

My lady took me here for my birthday breakfast and never been to Manhattan Beach before. First the view was a million dollar view from our table. Then staff was excellent very engaging the whole time. The pancakes was so fluffy and potatoes was yummy. Kelly was our server brought out these banana muffins with creamy butter wow. She had omelette with bacon and looked yummy. The coffee was really good and the price was decent too.

We shared an omelette (substituted ham with grilled chicken) + pancakes...it was pretty good. The pancakes were served with a generous amount of melted butter which made it even better. Of course we ordered coffee, 1 hot and 1 iced, and the brew was strong just the way I like it. Overall, cute breakfast spot that seems pretty popular with the locals. Happy eating!

We ordered 2 coffee, classic eggs benedict with hashbrowns, and the porkchop with eggs with hashbrowns and a side of buttermilk pancakes. We saw everyone else's food being brought out to their tables, and it all looked pretty good (especially the omelets). Our food took a little longer to arrive, and people who ordered after us received their food first, but it wasn't a big deal. The coffee was watery, and no amount of sugar or creamer could help it. And to think it was $5.49. We finally got our food, and unfortunately, it was not good. The Eggs Benedict ($17.99) was the first disappointment. I took a bite and immediately tasted something sour when I started chewing it. At first I thought it was just the ham, but I'm not entirely sure, since it was covered in hollandaise sauce. It also lacked flavor overall. The only thing I liked was the poached eggs. The pork chop with eggs ($18.99) was extremely dry, difficult to chew, and very bland. It didn't seem seasoned at all. We ordered a side of gravy to help, but I didn't realize it cost an extra $3. I wouldn't have ordered it had I known, especially since it didn't improve the taste or texture of the pork chop. The pancakes were oddly eggy and didn't taste like pancakes at all. As for the hash browns, I didn't realize hash browns could taste bad, but these were mushy and almost slimy. Half of them were heavily seasoned, while the other half was bland. Even the ketchup didn't help because it only made them mushier. Overall, the server was nice, but I wouldn't come back here for the food.

Our server was an obvious OG who has worked here for a long time and probably seen it all over the years. In other words, he's been there and done that. I have a special place in my heart for establishments and their long-time servers, so I'm not going to be too critical here-but the old lad did rush things initially. His service and overall demeanor picked up with time and over the course of the meal, so again nothing too bad. And whilel he certainly didn't provide CSA level service, he wasn't rude or either.
