All I have to say is they are rude and extremely disrespectful. I have asked their employees for help and I got ignored twice.

Bathroom is filthy. Needs a thorough Clorox scrub. And a deodorizer. Doesn't even look like it's cleaned at all.

I recently shopped at Marshalls and was very disappointed. The customer service was poor, and the quality of the products is terrible. The clothes barely last more than a month. I'm not satisfied at all. read more

I called asking if they had Men's shoes. The woman that answered the phone overall just acted like I was putting her off for calling and then eventually hung up on me. I'm not typically one to post reviews but the customer service here was just so bad I had to haha hope to save someone time! We have come here to pick up a few household items, clothing, decor, and kitchen stuff. The brands are pretty good and the selection is decent. The staff are also hospitable and helpful but we did try to return a small kitchen appliance that we bought here after finding out it was defective and the associate said they couldn't accept it even though it was purchased just the day before. It was surprising because their competitors like Ross or TJ Max accept returns regardless, we still had the receipt and tags attached but because we turned it on and tried to use it just to find out it was broken, it was no longer allowed to be returned. Overall the store is pretty clean and the racks are well organized I just wish they re-evaluated this policy because if they sell something that's broken but don't accept the return it's pretty inconsiderate. read more

Good selection of items and neatly organized. Can be pricey but still cheaper and not as crowded as TJ maxx. Lots of free parking. Ok those are the positive points about this shop that earned it 2 stars. Changing room attendants are rude and see themselves as security guards enforcing their policies at the door. I usually go in with tons of clothes to try on and it's frustrating that you can only take a few in at a time. Then you have to get dressed, bring the items out and take the rest in to try on again. And repeat. Very painful process. So I started buying and returning what didn't fit within the 30 day mark. This worked until I realized that they have some system issue with their inventory and they will confidently tell you that an item is not on your receipt because they scan it and it doesn't show up. So make sure you manually check the barcode of the item on your receipt. The first time this happened they took the item away from me without refunding me saying it must have been an error that it was never scanned in the first place and that I can't have it back!! The second time it happened, I checked the item on the receipt and could see it was there even though the staff rudely retorted "I already scanned it, it's not". The staff called their manager and then gave me store credit for the item. No apology for their error and also for their system issue that didn't allow me to have a refund but store credit instead. So BEWARE when returning items and do your own checks. read more

Went during opening to get one HK blanket and a saw 2 workers purchase all of them. I asked to have just one for my daughter and they said "no, this is an employees purchase.it was a shorter Hispanic man and a taller heavier woman checking him out. It's really unfortunate that these workers are breaking rules and hoarding to resell. Absolutely rude and pathetic, and I hope they get caught breaking the rules. read more

This is the first store I've been racially profiled at. Malahat was the associate I had the pleasure of working with today . She did not greet me, I greeted her. She overly examined my returns, which had all the tags attached and matching sku numbers. Called her manager over to check one of my returns because the clearance price was apparently too low. Manager looks at her and says it's fine lol. Then she had to make sure the numbers on my card matched the receipt when the receipt said CONTACTLESS. Had to explain that means I paid with my phone. Malahat, if you hate your job, you should have made better choices in life. Maybe things would turn out better for you if you treated people equally. God can't bless who you pretend to be. read more

Used to be my go-to location but something happened here during pandemic (management change!?) and things just went downhill. 1. There's always huge line at the checkout. Somehow checkout is slower now than at South Coast Plaza location, despite that this location on Alton is much less crowded. 2. They don't give a damn about store hours and closing the doors 30-60 minutes earlier than posted. I used to think that it's just a mess because of the pandemic, but it looks like it's their new way of doing business. 3. Attendants are rude. It's especially noticeable at the end of the day, when it feels like the personnel just want to kick everybody out and close the store. I'm wondering how to report it to T.J. Maxx parent company. Have you been to the Nordstrom Rack location by South Coast Plaza? If you have, you know that store has an overwhelming amount of stuff and it's just an absolute mess. This Marshall's is exactly like that - but the store is half the size of Nordstrom. Always messy. Always crowded. Checkout line is always backed up to the Pets section with only 3 checkout lanes open. Another comparison: Nail salon. If you have been to a nail salon and you feel uncomfortable because the Nail techs usually talk among themselves. That's how this location is as well - especially when you're checking out. Came in for a return. Stood in line for 20 minutes. I actually found a pet bed but decided against it during checkout. I told the sales associate I didn't want the item anymore and just wanted to do my return- 2 kids toys. She looked at me stupidly. I had to picked up the receipt from the counter and hand it to her. "You want to return these 2 items?" She asked .... yes, that's what I just said. Started to process the return. "You pay with gift card. I'll need to put it back on the gift card." "Yes, I have the gift card." - as I'm showing it to her. I get ignored as she rummages through the drawer to look for a gift card while chitchatting with the associate next to her. When the credit card machine started flashing blue I went ahead and swiped it. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" she yells. "I have my gift card." - as I showed it to her again. She rolled her eyes, gave me my receipt and started putting away the toys in the return bin while talking to the associate again. I walked away - and as I was 2 registers away she starts yelling "HEY. HEYYYY! HEYYYY MISS! YOU NEED TO PAY FOR THE BED!" Mind you... I had left it with the sales associate and everyone was looking at me. "I told you I didn't want the bed anymore. You don't listen to me. you need to learn to fxxking listen!" Yes. I yelled that at her. I had been patient enough but her yelling and chasing after me - like I had stolen the pet bed - even though it wasn't in my cart - had pushed me over the edge. Seriously. If you can't hear people talk through the mask, don't work the checkout lane. Don't work customer service. It's people like her that make the checkout lane long. read more

My expertise is client experience. The experience is to me probably as important if not more than the product. Well today I felt like I was not treated well and left this store crying, feeling I was not enough, not looking okay enough or not trustworthy looking. Here is what happened: This weekend I gifted myself a pair of sneakers as I found one on clearance that matched my kids'! I did not have the time to try them on at the South Coast Plaza @marshalls store, but it was the last pair, so I gave it a chance. As soon as I got home and tried them one, I realized it would not work, the shoes were way too small. I couldn't fit all my toes in them . I had to return them. Today, I went to this Marshalls store, in Irvine on Alton parkway, hoping I would find the same pair but at my size this time. My intention was to make an exchange hopefully. They had other pairs on display but not in my size unfortunately. With Covid, we do not go anywhere & I know I will not go on further hunting trips trying to find the right size in multiple Orange County locations, so I decide to return the shoes I purchased this past weekend. I was with my baby in his stroller. Only 3 registers were opened and the line was... VERY long. 30 ish minutes later it's finally my turn. The woman at the register looks at me like I am not worth any welcoming sign of any kind, and says "these were worn you cannot return them". Needless to say they were not worn and I had the receipt. Since I have not worn the shoes, still quite confident I have insisted. She goes to her manager, who without seeing the shoes or talking to me confirms the pair cannot be returned.... I insist again, he finally came to the register (by now they wanted me out of their store).... After 3-4 minutes of useless back & forth I end up saying I want to complain and need them to provide me with a number to customer service ... the number they gave me was for online purchases or store credit cards.... I left like I was a liar, had worn these shoes and had tried to return a second hand item. I am a very good homegoods/tj Maxx / Marshalls client. I decided to share the experience here so hopefully this doesn't happen again. This was @Marshalls, on Alton Pkwy in Irvine CA. I think this was the worst customer experience I've ever had in all those years of shopping and retail, I may actually never dare going back to any of their stores. Terrible customer service, I had an item for return, it was a gift so I don't have a receipt, but the store tag was attached. They refused to process the return and told me that I could not accept it because I did not have the receipt and they do not have the item in their store. I never had any trouble with any Marshall or TJMaxx in the past, and this was the only store that had its own store policy. I will never return to this store. read more

The clothes are really cute but the staff is really bad. I tried grabbing something from a rack while somebody was organizing it and they told me to move. Then when I went to try on the clothes it was horrible because the ladies were super rude. They made us put all the clothes on the rack to count it even after we had told them how many items we had. Then when my mom wanted to go get a different size it was like they were mad at you! In the end we forgot 2 hangers and they got mad at us! So overall the clothes were good but the customer service was horrible and we didn't feel welcomed. read more

The store is just your typical marshals. Lots of items thrown in random places. But that's just Marshall's. The one thing I did find really weird is that I noticed a lot of the representatives did not speak English. it was totally OK. But if I had like a major situation, or was looking for some thing, there would've been no way they would've been able to understand me. read more

This is a descent location with a good selection. I usually come here for home and decor items or kids clothes and have found great deals here, especially if you shop their clearance items. Lines at check out can be long, best to go early, late or during the week. read more

Probably one of the worst stores I've been to in a while. Just came in for one item, I ended up finding a super cute jumper for 9.99 so had to get it. The woman at the register ended up spending a few minutes talking to her co worker thinking that I somehow must have mixed the tags because it can't be that cheap...it's Marshall's. Also if it was a mistake that an employee made shouldn't it be honored? It even had a missing clasp on it but I was ready to ignore that for the price. We were in town visiting so we stopped in here. The store was kept, and I liked the girls And boys selection of clothes and at a great price. Wasn't a huge fan of the clutter of their home good items and the staff was average at best. The gentlemen ringing us up was very friendly but no other staff asked if we were finding everything okay and even gave a few passive looks if anything. So product wise it was good. Everything else was average. 4/5 stars. Oops. Overall I liked the boys shirt options. One in my town is horrible in boys selections. read more

I was looking for a arm band for running, asked one of the workers if they have it, even showed her pictures, and she just flat-out said "no, we don't have it". As I was walking out, I saw the damn thing, and they have LOTS of them. Most of the workers were pretty unhelpful too. Hope they'll improve. read more

This Marshall's has the worst staff of any Marshall's I have been to. Terrible customer service, the staff are so lazy and in such a hurry to get home that they have no respect for the store hours and are always closing at least 30 minutes earlier than the stated store hours. Lines are always really long and the staff there like to take their time. Do yourselves a favor, and drive to another Marshall's, like the one in south coast plaza. Maybe that will help open managements eyes so they can do a better shop of hiring employees . read more

As a frequent Marshalls browser and shopper, I find that there are always unique finds, especially when nearing the holiday seasons. Not sure why the overall rating is so low. I've been to this location several times, and each time, I've had good customer service. Sure, the wait for checkout can be pretty long, the bathrooms are not so clean (I mean, they're public restrooms, aka. no passcode to go in), and sometimes the organization can be improved (like any other random collection stores, i.e. Ross, TJ Max). The dressing rooms are well lit and maintained well. If you search carefully, you'll find some good quality clothes for an affordable price. read more

Came in for cologne and the layout seems very cluttered. Employees were not very friendly and no one acknowledged me while I was looking for the cologne section (was hard to find). I came here with the wife to browse around before her dental appointment next door. The wife found a black adidas jacket and she told me to get in cashier's line and pay first while she attended her dental appointment next door. So first of all this was 10:30AM on Saturday morning. There were a total of 10-15 customers in the entire store. However there seemed to be a very congested line at the cashiers. I was 3rd in line and what usually takes 2-3 minutes to pay ended being about 10 minutes. The lady cashier seemed like she broke a nail as she was constantly checking her own hands after scanning every item. Perhaps that was the delay for such slow register service. When it was my turn to pay, the lady couldn't find Marshall's barcode tag and she told me the tag is missing. The original manufacturer's tag was still on the item for $55. Then she just stood there without a word. I replied by asking what she expects me to do about the missing price tag? She gave me the passive-aggressiveness cold shoulders before finally asking a younger man to find a similar item. Meanwhile still examining her own nails periodically. After 5-10 minutes of holding up the cash register, the young man finally came back. By this point, the customers in line all became fidgety and one of them demanded to the manager to open another cash register. So finally the manager complied to it. The young man brought back another Adidas jacket of another type. My cashier lady now showed me the price of this different jacket, and asked me if this is ok. The manufacturer's suggested price was $100, and Marshall's has discounted it to $40. I simply told her that it was not OK since the jacket the young man brought back costed twice as much as the one my wife was interested in. She then proceeded by saying they are both the same and made by Adidas. I then explained to her, in detail, patiently, that since $100 manufacturer's prices was discounted down to $40 by Marshall's, my wife's jacket should be around $25, compared to the suggested manufacturer's retail of $55. She then got frustrated and told the young man to go back and find another jacket. Another 5-10 minutes passed and finally he came back with a different jacket. And meanwhile this lady was still examining how her nail got broken. At least by this time, the jacket was the same price. I accepted the final sale of $30. She did apologize to me about taking so long. I don't think this lady and the entire staff were meant to be rude. It's just their mannerism and approach can portray themselves as nonchalant and distant from this whole subject matter. This store needs to provide better training for its staff about efficiency and customer service. The point is to make the customer satisfied and not to get rid of the customer as soon as possible. The mannerism from the staff can also use some fine tuning. I totally understand that when foreigners visit our great country of USA, many of them find our social mannerism "fake" and "superficial". However, the other end of the spectrum lies "apathy", which also can steer customers away. I have enjoyed Marshall's and TJ Maxx for decades and I hope to enjoy many future trips to these stores. Don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. read more

Everything was ok until when I had to pay for the items i purchased. Cashier lady, Veronica, doesn't know anything about customer service. Of course i'm not expecting a 4 star service, but at least an acknowledgement that there's a customer. When I got to the cashier, she was writing something on a receipt. It took about 20-30 seconds for her to just start scanning the items. She would just hand me the bag containing the items after i paid and didn't even make eye contact, nor said a thank you. And the way she just handed me that bag and her expression was very rude. Cannot believe someone like her is working as a cashier facing customers. read more

I have purchased at this Marshall's for years as it is close to my work. I often pop in at lunch and look around. I did some Christmas shopping and realize three gifts I ouchased were defective. One was a cat toy tower. It has 3 towers and each one should have a ball. Took it out and set it in the floor for my cat when I realized it was missing two balls. Took that and the other 2 gifts back for credit along with my receipts less than a week after purchased. The cashier took the cat toy out of the box and said she would not issue a return because it had. When used as it had some cat hair j. The bottom. I proceeded to tell her the reason I couldn't keep it is that it was defective. The manager was called S I insisted it should. It have been on the shelf full price if it was defective and therefore I would like a credit. I wasn't even asking for cash back. I would have gladly exchanged it but they didn't have any more of the same tiys. They refused to issue a refund because it had. Even taken out of the box. The manager said he could not verify I purchased the $10 cat toy missing balls and therefore he would but give me credit. I felt like he was calling me a liar. Why would they sell me a defective toy full price and then refuse to credit me even though I had a refund??? I am extremely unhappy with the way I was treated as a customer specially because I spend time driving back and in line for their mistake and TJ tol it off, Mac the manager flrefused to credit me honestly basically calling me a liar with out saying so. Max should not have denied a customer with a receipt a $10 credit for an item that should have never been in the shelf. I am extremely disappointed at how Mad and his cashier handled the situation and I had never been treated so rudely there before. Needles to say I will not be spending my money at a store that refused to accept their mistake and credit $10. Do yourself a favor and avoid this store or double check each item before you pay. 3 items were defective. read more

This Marshall's without a doubt has the slowest lines 100% of the time of any Marshall's, Homegoods, or TJMAXX store I've ever been to. And that's the case every single time. Managers don't care. Morale and sense of urgency is low from all employees. No front end coordinator guiding the front. District manager really needs to get in here & watch the frontline to help guide this store. Great deals, but 2 cashier's for over 4,0 people in line is horrible. It took them overt 10 minutes to call for backup registers to open. My arms were sore from carrying my items by the time I got to the front. I had plenty of time to count the bodies in line and check my clock. Luckily I happened to have time on my hands today. While all these customers are waiting they are pushing time delaying credit card applications and requests for donations. Although I commended them for their commitment to their sales programs, it's not the best time to add delays when people are waiting 10+ minutes in line to get checked out. Had I not needed the shoes and had done spare time, I would have left. read more

All Stores are not created equally. Some are cleaner and near than others. Second time coming I here. Some clothing appear to have name brand labels, the look of them has to be the reject ones but not bad. They have so much from Toys, Pots and Pans , Picture Frames, Mirrors , Clothing , Shoes and much more . These guys really try to be good. read more
